For Type 2 Diabetes "The side effects of my gastrointestinal symptoms have made this drug intolerable to me. While my A1C is now down to 6.1 from 7, at my age, 7 is still considered an acceptable result. So in my estimation, it has not been worth the severe cramps, diarrhea, headaches, blurred vision, and dizziness I have experienced."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Ozempic .5 for 6 months. During that time, I had severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. My blood pressure went out of control, causing my vision to double. I have 6th cranial nerve palsy caused by a spike in blood pressure. EKG now shows I have a right bundle branch blockage and may need a pacemaker. I never had anything like this before. I have had the same doctor for 15 years, and he is also concerned. I believe Ozempic is the root cause, my eyesight may not get completely normal. Will be getting legal advice."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Do not use this drug. I took my first and only dose and had terrible diarrhea, so bad I had to cancel several engagements. I also had vomiting after eating, no appetite, a decline in vision, and worst was a mental haziness that took over a month to recover from. My doctor called it an allergic reaction, but I don’t believe that. Even after 8 months, I still have episodes of feeling tired and hazy. I feel like I’ve aged 5 years since taking the one dose. Other than type 2 diabetes, I was in good physical condition and health. Now I have aching muscles, reduced vision, and sporadic haziness. Yes, my A1C went down temporarily, but not worth all the rest of the side effects."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I am on day 4 after taking this and now bedridden. I have never been so sick in my life: nausea, vomiting, gas, headache, terrible smelly burping, dizzy, blurred vision, the list goes on. I hope this wears off soon, I have to go back to work. I am so disappointed in this product, very scary how it's destroying my body. I can't eat, sleep, barely move, just sipping water. Terrible stuff."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was prescribed and took only one dose. Within 12 hours, I was vomiting and had severe nausea. My reaction landed me in the hospital for 8 days. If you have, or even suspect you have, gastroparesis, DO NOT take this drug. I was nearly put on a feeding tube because of Ozempic. It was not a reaction to but an actual severe side effect of this drug. It also affected my vision. Now who is going to pay the ER and hospital bill I have to deal with?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Month 1, I was started on Ozempic at 0.25 mg and had very mild symptoms of bloating and reduced appetite. Month 2 & 3, uncomfortable. Stomach cramps, gas, and diarrhea probably for 4 days after injection. This can be really embarrassing in a small office. By the end of Month 3, I was feeling quite a bit better. At this point, my HbA1c was down to 5.2 from 9.4, I had virtually no diabetic symptoms. No blurred vision, no numbness in fingers and toes, and I was sleeping through the night without visits to the bathroom. And I lost 16 kilo in weight. Month 4 to 7. OMG. Increasing to 1 mg, the side effects are horrendous. Weight loss has stalled, though this is probably due to lockdown. The sickness and eggy burps are constant, and now my doctor says it will be at least 6 months before the side effects could be gone. But I have no diabetic symptoms, my HbA1c is pretty much normal, and I think the effort has been worth it. Not an easy journey, but worthwhile."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for a few weeks now after taking Byetta and not liking it. I also take Lantus, Humulin, Metformin, and Phentermine. I also take 2 blood pressure meds, cholesterol, nerve, and anxiety meds. I’ve had PCOS since 2000, had gestational diabetes with my youngest in 2008, and was officially diagnosed as diabetic in 2015. Last year, I had the scare of my life and went into ketoacidosis and was in ICU for a week. I have a new endocrinologist who started me on Ozempic. I started out with an A1C of 11.5 and brought it down to 7.5. I’ve lost 7 lbs so far. I have blurred vision, stumble, no appetite, constipation, no energy, insomnia, sick to my stomach, and gross belches. I feel like stuff is lodged and stuck in my chest all the time. I sure hope these side effects don’t last forever because I feel like this medicine is making my blood sugars under control for the first time in my life. I have the Dexcom G6, and it consistently checks my levels and my average is 149."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Nausea on a regular basis over two years of having it. Severe weight loss, even when not needed, as unable to face food. Blurred vision and pain in the eye. I don’t recommend it just for weight loss. I started on 0.25, going up to 0.5. Constant headache because of eye pain. I came off insulin, but am now stopping Ozempic, can’t put up with eye and headache. I would rather have insulin four times a day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic Dec 4 with 0.25 the first and second week and 3rd & 4th week .05. I lost 6 pounds. The only side effects I’ve had were lack of appetite (but I do eat, but a third of what I used to), full stomach, diarrhea just 3 times in 4 weeks, and today a sudden onset of blurry vision. My eye doctor squeezed me in today and found nothing wrong. I told him I was taking this medicine and a side effect was blurry vision. It may just even off in a few days, nonetheless, I have a call into my primary doctor to make him aware and see his opinion. So far, that’s about it. I will continue to take this unless I’m told otherwise. It’s really keeping my glucose below 100 daily."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "4 days after taking a 0.25 dose, became extremely ill, so weak and tired I could not stand long enough to brush my teeth, constipation, off taste in mouth, heart palpitation, and now my vision is blurry. I ruled out other possibilities, took blood work, heart x-ray, lung CAT scan, saw a heart doctor, and nobody could find any issues. I have been off for 3 weeks and just starting to feel better."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I’m a 39-year-old female, have had 3 children, and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease after baby number 3, which was 8 years ago. So very hard for me to lose weight, no matter how healthy I eat or the amount of exercise I do. I’m about 8 weeks into using Ozempic now. Started at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and 0.5 mg for the last 4 weeks. So far, I have lost 10.2 kg. This and I have cut junk food and have been eating smaller portions. I haven’t had any side effects from it, except for possibly having to use my glasses more? I have read that it can cause blurred vision. However, so far, I’m stoked with the results."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on this for about 2 years. Blood sugars were 11 before taking, now average about 6. Really need to watch how much I eat or will throw up. Blurry vision, stomach aches occasionally. Generally, this has been a great med for me, reduced the medications I was taking for diabetes. Now I take 10 mg Jardiance and 4 mg glimepiride. No more insulin!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on this drug 4 weeks ago. First 2 weeks at 0.25, a little bit of headache and appetite totally gone. Second 2 weeks I went to 0.5, and that's when I felt bad. Bad headaches, double vision, dizzy, and I feel like I have the flu. The upside is that I lost weight, but it's not worth the side effects... I am going back to Saxenda despite the price."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Many side effects: constant headaches, nausea, flatulence, lightheadedness, blurred vision, tiredness, poor sleep, distended abdomen, constipation, chills, and bouts of sweating. I have been taking Ozempic for the past 7 weeks and will continue to do so in the hope these side effects will dissipate over time. Right now, despite these side effects, I am continuing with Ozempic because the medicine is controlling my sugar levels beautifully. I am keeping my fingers crossed."

"I began taking this medication off-label for weight loss. I am on my second week and took my second shot last night. I felt my appetite decrease the first week. I threw up from nausea this morning. I think I ate too much yesterday. The med does slow down digestion to leave you feeling full longer. I did eat a normal serving of dinner but had eaten a couple of hours prior, and I just don't think my body could process all the food. I won't be giving up on the med. So far, the nausea/vomiting and perhaps some vision changes are the side effects I am noticing. My eyes seem tired, and it's not that I can't see, but they feel a bit strained. I should add that so far, I have lost 5 pounds in 7 days."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Taking Ozempic due to type 2 diabetes and high CRP. Initially had minor stomach issues, which were resolved quickly. Unfortunately, once at a 1 mg dose, I experienced blurry vision due to a branched retinal vein occlusion. I stopped the medication for a 6-month period, recently restarted, keeping my dose at 0.5 mg, not having any issues with stomach or eyes. My blood sugar levels are great, need to check my A1C, but am confident it will be good. I like the once-a-week shot, otherwise, I was popping supplements multiple times a day. I still watch my carb/sugar intake when I eat. My appetite is near non-existent and tend to eat small portions, so weight is reducing, which is a benefit. I'm grateful for this medicine, it works, and fortunately, my co-pay is small, otherwise, it would be unaffordable."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic has helped me with my A1c and weight loss, but the most amazing thing that Ozempic has done for me is improve my vision! I was having some trouble with my glasses, and I thought my vision was getting worse. Come to find out my vision had improved, so I had to get a new prescription for my glasses."

"I am 64 and have been yo-yoing with my weight for years. I would gain 30 or 40 lbs, then diet it off, and it would stay off for a couple of years. Then I would gain it back until I felt awful and diet it off again. My doctor told me recently that I am prediabetic, have elevated cholesterol, and my blood pressure is creeping up. I have gained at least 30 plus pounds since I had a foot surgery that was botched and had to have a revision. This made me sedentary for almost 2 years due to not being weight-bearing for 6 to 8 weeks post-surgery every time. I am also only 5 ft tall, so the slightest gain shows. I asked my doctor to prescribe Ozempic so I could lose weight before I become diabetic or have a stroke. I have only had 1 dose and the side effects are awful. I am always nauseous and feel like I have to burp constantly but cannot, which is very uncomfortable. I have GERD, and it made it worse, but I'm trying to stick it out. Hope I lose some weight, I only need to lose 20 lbs, so should see loss soon. Cannot do this for long."

For Type 2 Diabetes "On 6/20, I started injections to my right eye for macular degeneration, I get the shots every 4 weeks. Then, on 7/22, I started Ozempic injections at 2.5 mg once a week. On 8/23, I took the dose up to the full dose of 5.0 mg. That evening, my right eye lost central vision. I got into my retinal doctor, and my macular degeneration had doubled in severity. He had no clue unless it was the Ozempic. Trying to find out if this could be it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Ozempic 3 months ago. I immediately had nausea, a shaky feeling, tinnitus, lightheadedness, and vision issues, which got worse each time the dosage was increased. I only managed to tolerate the higher 1 mg dose for 3 weeks before I ended up in the emergency dept with pancreatitis. My consultant stopped the medication, and 3 weeks later I’m slowly getting better. But I continue to have gastric issues and dizziness. You really need to be careful with this drug and weigh up the risks. It took a heavy toll on my health with moderate, slow weight loss. Tighter control and patient monitoring should be compulsory with this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor prescribed it as a miracle drug, bought a 0.25 mg kit. My doctor gave me instructions, but I found better instructions on YouTube, so the next day I was ready with all that info. I cooked a light soup, no carbs, no fat, etc. I drank water, washed my hands, cleaned my belly, and did the shot. All was okay. After a few hours, abdominal pain, my eyes started to itch, then blurry vision. I went crazy, wondering what happened to me, went to bed, then the nausea came with a headache. The next days I was sick and did not go away, so I phoned my doctor. She said it's all in my mind and I will get used to it. Now I am afraid of the second injection, is it worth it? Why pay for an expensive drug to get sick? The only positive was that it lowered my morning blood sugar from 100-110 to 88. I take 1000 mg of metformin twice a day. For others, do not use it for the first time and go to work, it's good to do it when you do not have work the next day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am only on week 2, so I am going to give it a shot, even though I am experiencing some side effects. I am a DMII with an A1C of 11.0. I have experienced a lot of dizziness, (I have BP issues as well), feeling bloated, diarrhea, and blurry vision. I can only hope these effects go away with time, as I really want to be on this medication for DM and weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Three months of use so far. It has reduced my fasting glucose levels dramatically, always 6 or below. Side effects are tolerable, except for the blurred vision, which is annoying. There is some nausea at times, depending on what I eat. Ozempic is a very good drug for diabetes type 2 treatment and management."

For Type 2 Diabetes "First month had some minor stomach issues, to be expected, then acclimated to the drug. Once the dose increased to 1 mg, began having blurry vision due to one eye having a BRVO, Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion. Never had issues with my eyes prior to taking the medication. Two doctors told me to stop taking the medication. Only restarted the Ozempic after my ophthalmologist confirmed my eyes were healthy and healed, this was 6 months later. Now, only inject 0.5 mg, which maintains stable normal blood sugar levels and keeps a strict low-carb diet. I take an antioxidant, pycnogenol, which protects veins, especially retinal veins. Also, being my food intake was greatly reduced, it may have caused nutritional deficiencies, so I take a multivitamin and taurine. Taurine is very important for retinal health as well as heart health."
