For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic helped me regulate my blood sugars. Before Ozempic, I took many other drugs for my diabetes that did not work. When I saw my first endocrinologist, she put me on 2 injectable insulins. This did not work. Combining oral meds (i.e., metformin) with insulin did not regulate me. Then I tried Victoza, and it helped considerably for some time, then stopped working. I asked my doctor if I could switch to Ozempic. He said yes, and it worked so well that my blood sugars are stable, and I was able to lower my insulin. My blood sugars are not only low, but my A1C is perfect (i.e., 5.1). Recently, I started an extensive physical rehab program, and then I started getting sugar lows. Now, I'm off all meds for my diabetes until we figure out what is causing the hypoglycemia. It may be the exercise program, the diet program, or side effects of the Ozempic. Regardless, Ozempic worked for me, and I am glad that it was developed to address some of the difficulties a person with diabetes encounters."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using for 10 months proximately (0.5 mg). It has steadied glucose with less insulin (Lantus), and I have lost about 25 lb (started at 302 lb). I would like a higher dosage to help with the weight issue, as it's been very helpful with appetite reduction. The doctor has not raised it for fear of hypoglycemia issues. I've had no real side effects beyond occasional nausea and constipation. Slower movement through the gastrointestinal system gives me a rather hard-packed stool. I have consistently had flatulence since week one."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Be careful with this drug. In my opinion, all Ozempic does is cause disordered eating habits and make you sick to the point of vomiting if you do try to eat a decent meal. This is not sustainable for long-term health. Also learned the hard way that in some, it can cause reactive hypoglycemia, which can be very dangerous. I did lose about 10 pounds in the 6 weeks I was on it, which yes, is nice, but I wouldn’t say it was “easy” because I was suffering the whole time with constipation, vomiting, migraines, etc. It HAS motivated me to work as hard as I can to maintain my health and weight as much as I can without these powerful drugs, though I will say that."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had my third spinal operation in December 2018, a multi-level fusion. Doctors wanted me to lose weight, and because I couldn’t exercise, I was prescribed Ozempic. I had previously been on Victoza, which was awful, with terrible hypoglycemia and little weight loss. Ozempic has allowed me to totally control my food cravings and intake. I lost 40 lbs in under 6 months doing little or no exercise and eating way less without feeling hungry. I have had almost no side effects, besides fleeting nausea maybe once every second day. Really works for me, however, I’m now on it 7 months, and I’m finding the 1 mg dose is not as effective as it once was."
