For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on the low dose of 0.25 in July - had no nausea, no loss of appetite, a little loose stool once a week. It's now December, I've stayed on the 0.25 dose and have lost 35 pounds! I feel great, better than I've felt in 10 years. I've even started riding my bicycle. I make sure to drink plenty of water daily and eat regular meals."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've taken Ozempic for 2 weeks and experiencing severe nausea and decreased appetite upon smelling the aroma of food. I am eating smaller portions since the nausea is severe. As for weight loss - I have to purchase a new scale, but noticed that my shoes seem bigger on my feet, which means I'm retaining less water and bloat. My pants are also looser. I am taking this medication with Metformin, which makes me use the bathroom and assist in my weight loss. I'll update again after week 4/5."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On December 19, 2022, I saw my medical provider and requested a prescription for Ozempic. She agreed that at 5’3” and weighing 192 lbs, it would be a good option for me. I started Ozempic on January 3, 2023. The first time I weighed myself after starting Ozempic was at the beginning of February, and I weighed 179 lbs. Through February, my weight bounced between 181-175, then I lost another 5 lbs in the first two weeks of March. I’m hoping to reach 160 by mid-April. My weight goal is 130-135. I am very happy with Ozempic’s effect on my weight loss. I have had assorted side effects. I had two days of extreme headaches after my first dose, but I’ve only had mild headaches with dosage increases since. My stomach is mild to moderately upset most of the time, and most of the time I don’t have much appetite. I’m at a 1 mg/week dosage now, and I’ve started having a lot of bad-tasting burps, but constipation is by far my worst side effect. I don’t know if I would have bowel movements without laxatives."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic back in June, and I swear it was like I had morning sickness. My dose was 0.5 mg once a week. I missed work on one occasion from being sick, but the nauseousness eventually went away. My A1C only went down 1/10 of a point over 3 months. I did lose 27 pounds, though. I got increased to 1 mg a week, and I was so nauseous I couldn't drink water as it made me feel worse. I skipped a week, then went back to 0.5 mg and increased to 1 mg later. I am good to go now. I have no appetite and down another 10 pounds this month. Some low sugars in the evening, otherwise, ok."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I'm on week 2 of using Ozempic for weight loss. I have suffered very little side effects because I take probiotics and magnesium and a water pill. My 3rd injection will be tomorrow, and it seems that Ozempic is just starting to kick in and work. First week, I never lost my appetite and did not fill up fast. 2nd week, I started to lose my appetite and feel full rather quickly. Also, a couple of side effects popped up in the past 2 days - but they are not bad and don't last: nausea (lasts only a couple of minutes and not that bad), burping (no weird tastes) that makes me feel relieved. I lost 5 pounds since I started this on July 15th. I actually look forward to my 3rd dose tomorrow and increasing after my 4th. Will update as things change."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m on Ozempic for weight loss. I started at a small dose for 4 weeks, 0.25, then 2 weeks, 0.5. Now I’m on maintenance, taking 1 mg. In the beginning, straight after the injection, I would suffer from nausea, migraines, and loss of appetite. My side effects have shifted. I don’t suffer from nausea for more than a day, however, I have sulfur gas. It’s horrible. I’m bloated and very gassy. I haven’t lost a ton of weight yet, however, I do think diet is key as I am taking this for weight loss, and so far, yes, my appetite is suppressed. A day or two before it’s time to take the injection, I gain more of an appetite. This stuff is killer expensive, and my insurance doesn’t cover it. I’ll give it a couple more months and see how it goes."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for a week. Using it with Metformin. I was taken off glipizide and Januvia. I’ve lost 6 lbs so far. Appetite is way down. A little nausea and diarrhea for a few days. Feeling better the last day or so. I highly recommend trying this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Worst feeling and sickness ever after just one dose. Started out with no appetite. The second day after the shot was given, started throwing up after I ate. By the third day, was constantly throwing up. Could not even eat a piece of ice without throwing up. Lost two days of work, and it ruined my Valentine weekend plans. Worst experience ever. Do not recommend to anyone."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started on the lowest dose of Ozempic in October 2022. One injection, in my thigh, once a week. I didn't make it past the first 4 weeks or the lowest dose. My physician hoped that since I do not have a gallbladder, many of the reported side effects of nausea and vomiting would not affect me. Wrong. First week and all things went well. I experienced no real side effects and had decreased appetite and energy. I slept well and was active. Second, third and fourth weeks, not so good. Modified my entire diet, but could barely eat or drink anything but a little chicken. Constant and severe nausea, vomiting, sleep deprivation, headaches, body aches, and zero energy for the next three weeks. It was like having a severe case of stomach flu for 4 weeks. Oh, I lost weight, between 18-20 lbs. Unfortunately, this is not a sustainable way of life. I couldn't function; I didn't leave my house for a month. I pulled myself off of it, and it took another 3 months to recover fully."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Taking Ozempic for insulin resistance type A and PCOS. Took 0.25 for the first 4 weeks. Side effects included: severe nausea and flu-like symptoms. Constipation is still a problem. Mild nausea when I upped the dose to 0.50, but taking a generic store-brand nausea medication has helped a lot. Appetite greatly reduced, and I find smaller meals and snacking more frequently throughout the day to be very helpful. My side effects only lasted 1.5 weeks and have not returned with increased dosage. Started at 193 lbs and down to 186.8 lbs in only 1 month. Will continue to take!"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I'm in week 6, and I have lost 15 pounds!!!!! Total miracle. I started out at the .25 dose for a month and last week began .5. I have absolutely no appetite. Very easy to stick to a healthy diet. Predominantly low carb but do allow some complex carbs here and there. I eat very small meals--I am full very quickly. I am a little nauseous in the morning, slight constipation, which easily was alleviated with taking daily probiotics, and after going out to dinner the other night and eating what I thought was a small meal, had really bad acid reflux. The food was spicy, and although I didn't eat a lot of it, I ate later than usual. I will never do that again. I fortunately have not had any of the other side effects others mention. I want to lose another 70 pounds, so I am hoping that at the 1 mg dose I can accomplish this. I would think the weight loss will slow at some point. I remain a little nervous about increasing the dose, although I had no ill side effects when last increased."

For Type 2 Diabetes "3rd week taking Ozempic, first week didn’t have any of the symptoms listed by others. But my appetite was pretty cut in half. My cravings for sweet were non-existent in the first week. I wasn’t hungry throughout the day. 2nd week same, I’m hoping to lose some weight if this continues. Will update after I take .5 dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for about 8 months. Everything was fine with 25 units. I've had a few bouts of low blood sugar. Dropped a little weight due to loss of appetite, and my A1C is almost normal = 6.7. Anyway, I may have to stop taking it because of the cost. My Part D has a $435.00 deductible for tier 3 drugs with a $42.00 copay. This drug is for rich people only. I'm on Social Security. How can anyone afford this? I'm very upset."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've been on Ozempic for 4 months. My doctor tiered the dosage from 0.25 mg for 4 weeks, then 0.50 mg for 4 weeks, then increased to 1 mg for the remaining time. I've just gone in for a check-up and increased to the 2 mg dose beginning this week. Each dose, I experienced some stomach knots, but they resolved after the first day of the adjustment. I did initially have some very mild nausea, but all I needed to do was take a sip of cold water to take care of it. I stress, the nausea was very, very mild. I do have a bit of constipation, but I balance with stool softeners and strict keto (high fat). I've lost 21 pounds to this point, and this medication is the first thing that's controlled my appetite. I used to feel hungry all the time, but now I don't feel like I need to eat all the time. I don't snack all the time like I used to. I was doing everything I was supposed to, I was working out and strict keto. But I was stuck and couldn't lose any more weight. I've gone from 203 to 181."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I call this a wonder drug. Dropped my A1C to 5.8, so far, and I barely have to worry about counting carbs or finger sticks. I didn’t check my BG levels once the last 6 months and ate pretty much what I wanted “within reason”. I still stay away from sugary drinks and limit my carb intake but other than that I feel back to “normal”. The only side effect I’ve experienced is the appetite suppression. Lost 40 lbs because of that side effect. I happily tell all my family and friends who are also type 2 all about my experiences. Some have also begun to take Ozempic as well. I can’t endorse this medication enough!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started at a dose of 0.25 mg Ozempic, advancing to 1 mg weekly. The first week, I experienced reduced appetite and some nausea. Within 3 months, I have lost 35 pounds, and my HgA1C went from 9 down to 6. I have, on several occasions, experienced nausea and vomiting if I overate or had very greasy food. It does reduce your appetite substantially. I found eating my main meal at lunch and soup for supper has reduced nausea."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The Good, Bad, and Ugly with Ozempic. Before taking it, I read all the reviews. There were some pretty horror story types. Even with the Bad and Ugly, it has turned good. I do have some concerns, but the benefits outweighed. My A1C dropped from 9.2 to 7.8 in 4 months. I have lost some weight (about 7 lbs), which, with hip surgery, it's rough to get out. The cravings are strange. As one said, sugary things in the evening. I have taken care of that and eat my veggies or pop open a V8. Believe me, a V8 will curb about any craving. You do have to force yourself to drink water. Extremely important. Coke Zero cravings are completely gone. I still have one in a great eon. Food appetite is down. I do take more naps than usual, but I believe that is from the reduced food intake. I now spread out my food throughout the day with an almost continuous feed until a few hours before bed. Insulin is down about 20%. My only concern is the possibility of thyroid problems. Continuously check daily."

"After having my last child, I had my thyroid removed and ended up with hypothyroidism. I gained about 60 lbs within a year from 190 lbs to 252 lbs, and I was 190 lbs just after I had the baby! I am not diabetic. My Endocrinologist increased my dosage of Levothyroxine to 225 mcg and started me on Ozempic. I've taken 3 doses of Ozempic (beginning week 3 today) at .25, and I'm already down 9 lbs. Zero appetite, no side effects. Just have to stay hydrated."

"In just 6 weeks, I lost 6 kilos. When I had my first dose of .25, nothing much happened, but on my 3rd dose, I started to lose my appetite. I cannot eat as much as I used to and cannot eat oily food, it causes me to have diarrhea. I think that Ozempic is a very effective medicine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic Dec 4 with 0.25 the first and second week and 3rd & 4th week .05. I lost 6 pounds. The only side effects I’ve had were lack of appetite (but I do eat, but a third of what I used to), full stomach, diarrhea just 3 times in 4 weeks, and today a sudden onset of blurry vision. My eye doctor squeezed me in today and found nothing wrong. I told him I was taking this medicine and a side effect was blurry vision. It may just even off in a few days, nonetheless, I have a call into my primary doctor to make him aware and see his opinion. So far, that’s about it. I will continue to take this unless I’m told otherwise. It’s really keeping my glucose below 100 daily."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Within 2 weeks after moving from the starter dose of Ozempic to 0.25 to 0.5, I began having vomiting in the wee hours of the morning, with increasing intensity, nearly every night for the last 2+ weeks. The last 4-5 have been really rough. I also take metformin 500 and glimepiride 2, both AM and PM. This weekend, I went down to the Ozempic 0.25 dose, but Sunday and Monday nights were both awful bouts of vomiting. (No diarrhea at any stage with Ozempic; occasional nausea during the day, very decreased appetite.) Is anyone else having this bad and persistent vomiting? Thanks and good luck."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After just 6 weeks, I lost 11 kg, which equals 10% of my body mass. No side effects at all. On day 6, which is one day before the next dose is due, I notice a return of appetite and have to be careful. For me, it's been like magic, and I intend to continue for another 4 months to achieve an additional loss of 20 kg."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started on .25 and now onto .5 for the next 4 weeks. My side effects have been mild nausea, a lot of constipation, slight anxiety, mild diarrhea, mild tummy ache, intermittent tiredness, and feeling somewhat under the weather. There is no pattern, it’s random. I do think it’s the medication, as prior to this, I had none of these symptoms. It is not great, but tolerable. I think the meds are really kicking in now. If I have a small snack, the nausea subsides. I have little to no appetite, probably consume 1000 calories a day. And my mind is not consumed with food, and before I had an obsession with food. For me, it’s been life-changing. I put on 15 kg during Covid lockdown. Was 85 kg, now 81 kg."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just started this drug on Thursday. It’s now Monday, and I have lost 7 pounds, however, I feel miserable. Today it’s overwhelming dizziness, but previously it was nausea, bloating, and stomach pain. No appetite whatsoever, extreme fatigue, and insomnia! I had six stents placed in my heart arteries on July 22. I was hiking on the 20th and needed to be rescued from the trail. My blood glucose at rescue was 33. I was put on insulin in the hospital and prescribed a cardiac cocktail of six different meds, four of which caused some dizziness and light sensitivity, which had improved over four weeks to the point that I was walking an hour a day. I’ve barely left the house since Thursday. I will not take another dose of Ozempic. PS: the insulin was working well, I was down to 3 units, three times a day of Humalog (from 8 units x 3) and 9 units of Basaglar (from 25), plus 500 mg x 2 of Metformin."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic .25 mg subcut 8 days ago. I took my second dose yesterday. My first week, I ended up in the ED. I thought I had a bowel blockage or ileus. The ED visit was preceded by 6 hours of constant, sickening, odiferous belching, constant flatus, eruptive vomiting, cramping, and pain. A CT scan revealed gastric paresis. The event was precipitated by a fatty meal. I have since learned that the decreased gastric motility demands drastic changes in the volume of food intake, fat content, and most importantly, patience with what I consider to be major side effects. Now, I have no appetite. I am nauseated all the time, taking Zofran 4 mg before any meal. The belching is greatly reduced, same with flatus. I feel constipated, but that is easing off. I am avoiding high-fat foods and eating smaller portions. I am profoundly fatigued. Tomorrow, I am getting on the treadmill for 30 minutes each day to stimulate endorphin release to feel better. I have read the symptoms are reduced after 4-6 weeks."
