For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking it for over a month. No side effects for the first 2 weeks on the lower dose. Since I am using the higher dose now - I have had some very bad nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Also, lots of burping, and it smells terrible. When I have vomited - it is so much volume. More than any time in my life. It has reduced my appetite, but if I drink alcohol, it usually makes me physically sick."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic in October 2020. I have lowered my A1C from 8 to 5.8 and have, so far, lost 63 lbs! My appetite has decreased, but I'm eating and craving healthier food. I have continued to experience intermittent nausea and vomiting, but the side effects have significantly decreased. This is my miracle drug!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 of Ozempic, and after a month, increased to 0.50. After 2 months, I had lost 20 lbs. (I was not overweight). I constantly felt nauseous, had no appetite for anything, finally vomiting at random times whether I had eaten or not. Would take a laxative suppository every week because I had no urge ever to go. It did lower my A1C, but wasn't worth the effects. The medication has been changed."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on a 1 mg dose for 15 days, and my appetite is very low. Side effects are belching, GERD (for which I already receive treatment), and vomiting. So losing weight has been easy when food is removed from the equation. I have lost 8 lbs so far. Hoping to see improvement in A1c and lowered insulin dose in the future."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking Ozempic for 6 weeks. 4 weeks on .25 mg and 2 on .5 mg. It has been great at curbing my appetite and sugar cravings, and I have lost 5 kg. However, the diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, gas, and almost volcanic foul-smelling burping have made me decide not to continue. Being awake half the night with a gurgling stomach and having to sit up to burp and release the gas is not good for anyone. Back to my own devices from now on."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The first dose I took (0.25 mg) I had nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea for three days. The second dose was also 0.25 mg. Thereafter, the dose increased to 0.5 mg, and I have found that my glucose readings have stabilized to just below 7. I am now in my 7th week. I occasionally have a loose stool, perhaps once a month. My appetite has reduced a lot, and I have lost weight. I haven't weighed myself, but I would say about 6 kg. I feel good. I do need more sleep, and my body craves rest."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Ozempic since the beginning of March 2025. My starting dose was 0.25 and I am now at 1.0. At the time I started, I weighed about 193 and am now weighing 156 lbs. The only side effects I seem to be dealing with and do not like are nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Ozempic has curbed my appetite considerably, as well as my liquid intake, which I don't mind since I've lost a lot of my weight. Right now, my biggest problem is finding clothes to fit me and deciding if I should keep my old clothes or donate them. I really haven't bought much in the way of new clothes in part because I don't know how much more weight I am going to lose, plus the expense of buying new clothes. My goal is to weigh somewhere between 135 and 140. My A1c is down from 8.9 to 8.1, I would like that to be lower, like 7.1."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just started taking the 0.5 after taking the 0.25 for 4 weeks. I'm experiencing nausea, some vomiting, and bad stomach cramps, so I really don't know if I'm going to be able to keep taking it. It has curved my appetite some."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my first week (5 days in) and the dosage is 0.25 mg. Extreme nausea and occasional vomiting for three days, then abrupt cessation of those symptoms. Still have an appetite with occasional craving for sugar but much diminished. No weight loss yet, but I am trying to be patient. I am a nurse practitioner and expected that it would be easy to administer. I am embarrassed to say that I had a difficult time with the instructions, but I finally was successful. The instructions and the device itself were far too complicated, I thought. It was not intuitive at all. But, I am hopeful for success at both blood sugar management as well as weight loss. Thank you."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Began on 0.25 in May 2021. At first, zero side effects, no appetite at all and glucose plummeting. Went up to 0.50 in July. After 3 weeks, I had 2 days of severe stomach pain, vomiting (which I never do), and weakness. Was supposed to take an injection that day, but I did not. The next day, went back to 0.25 and so far so good. Outside of mild constipation (I don't eat much), I have to say the drug is a great one. I may change my mind if I start feeling pain every week, but so far so good. I see my MD next month and will ask him if I should go back up to 0.50."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 20 years old and was diagnosed at age 17 with type 2 diabetes. My A1C started off not bad, I was pre-diabetic for a year and then progressed to diabetes. I’ve been on metformin for 4 years and am currently on 2500 mg. I got my A1C blood test back and it was high, so my doctor recommended Ozempic. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks and it was horrible. I was vomiting nearly every day, had terrible cramps, especially at night, so painful I couldn’t sleep, horrible, disgusting-smelling burps like eggs, and the nausea was horrendous. I haven’t had much of an appetite, sometimes the thought of food makes me feel sick. I’ve lost 6 kg in this time, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth it. I’m currently on 0.25 mg at the moment and due for an increase to 0.50 mg. I’m not sure if I will stay on it. It’s incredibly hard to find supply as everyone wants it, and it kind of makes me mad that people are taking it off-label when there are genuine people with type 2 who need it."
