For Type 2 Diabetes "A miracle drug! I have been on Ozempic for 7 months and have lost 43 pounds. Ozempic destroys my appetite. I feel 'full' most of the time, so when I do eat, I eat small portions. There is the occasional bout of mild nausea, but no vomiting. A very small price to pay! I also find that I burp more than normal. I attribute all of this to the lack of stomach emptying effect of Ozempic. My sugar level has gone down, but not as much as I thought it would with a 40-pound loss of weight (I weigh 228 now). I am hoping to lose another 20 pounds at least and am hopeful that will reduce my sugar numbers."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for almost 6 weeks for type 2 diabetes and weight loss. I started out 4 weeks on the lowest dose and after the 4th week increased to the second dose. I want to say 0.5 mg. I’ve lost a total of 14 lbs, but it looks like I’ve lost more since you tend to lose inches. I haven’t had any bad side effects for the first 4 weeks, and my appetite has decreased tremendously. I only have to take my insulin once a day instead of 4 times a day due to my glucose levels being normal since Ozempic. I have experienced occasional nausea that doesn’t last long and only in the mornings. Zofran helps. I take my injection in my thigh. Since I’ve increased my dosage, I have experienced constipation. So I would advise you to drink plenty of water, exercise, and get your fiber in, or you will be very uncomfortable. Also, eating smaller portions helps. Overall, I’ve got more energy and feel like this drug will help me become healthier and get off insulin for good."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced severe stomach bloating and constipation after the first dose. I started injecting into the back of my arms and, with each subsequent dose, side effects lessen, though I still experience moderate nausea and fatigue after taking my weekly dose. On the positive side, my appetite has been reduced by at least 1/2, with 15 pounds lost. My fasting blood sugars are in the 80's and my post-meal levels rarely top 130. Even after eating small amounts of carbs, sugars fall to the nineties within an hour."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for about two months now. I haven't really been nauseous, but my stomach would just feel yucky. I'm on the 0.5 dose now. I had vomiting and diarrhea only one time, and that was two days after my first dose. My appetite has decreased, and I have lost weight, but I'm not sure how much. I won't find out how my A1C is for another month or so."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Within 3 days of the initial 0.25 mg dosage, my glucose was at 148. My glucose was at 260 fasting previously for months. After three months, presently at a 0.5 mg dosage, my A1c has gone from 8.2 to 6.0. I have lost 16 pounds in three months but have greatly decreased my caloric intake, so I do not credit Ozempic solely with the weight loss. I still have an appetite. Many other people who I know that are taking it say they do not even want to look at food, but that has not been my experience. I have been nauseated since day one on this drug, but I’ll tolerate the nausea for the impact on my glucose. This effect is solely due to Ozempic and diet. No other diabetic drugs are being taken. It is very convenient to use, as you only inject once a week. I am very concerned about the effect of thyroid issues/cancer in animal testing, but I guess it’s better than blindness, kidney disease, etc., that I will most certainly have if I don’t get my diabetes type 2 under control."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "3 weeks in... Initially prescribed for weight management. While my appetite's drastically reduced, I've experienced headaches, some brain fog, and felt a little under the weather. Nausea slightly though it reduced day by day. Fatigue's unbearable. I typically have an upbeat, positive attitude and noticed a not-so-good version of myself just recently. Contemplating discontinuing treatment as excited as I am for the weight loss aspect of it :("

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I took my first dose of .25 6 days ago. The first 2 days I had significant nausea. I took Ondansetron, and it helped. Then days 3 through 6 were horrible. Visual changes of blurriness and visual frame screen movements. Fingertips tingling, running into walls - balance and coordination gone, odd and random muscle twitching and body jerking. Could not drive my car. The last day I drove was 6 days ago. Today is day 6, and I awoke with no symptoms. Tomorrow is day 7, and my second injection is due of .25. I’ve put in a call with my cardiologist to ask if I should stop treatment. The injection pen doesn’t allow me to set a dosage of half the .25. If it did, I would like to continue treatment as my appetite and especially sugar cravings were quelled. I lost weight. Ate two healthy meals a day. My constant desire for food was nonexistent. The injection pen is easy to use."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was put on Ozempic for insulin resistance and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). I take my 3rd dose of 0.25 tomorrow. The 1st week taking it, I had immediate loss of appetite and mild to severe nausea. The struggle with constipation is still ongoing. I would say overall I just felt yucky. Took 2 doses before my body mellowed out and the nausea went away. I find big meals overwhelming now, and I recommend eating healthy snacks more frequently throughout the day (due to loss of appetite). Will up dose to 0.5 in 2 weeks and am nervous that the side effects will return, but hoping not. So far, I have lost 3 lbs, but my weight fluctuates up and down 5 lbs regularly, so not sure yet if it is the Ozempic or not."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started Ozempic 0.5 mg a few days ago to help me lose weight, a bit of nausea, and diarrhea, and I lost my appetite for food. I feel it is really working. The only thing is with the side effects, hope they don't get worse."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for about two years. I started at .5 and now at 1. The pros have been much lower A1c. I was at a 9.4, now it’s 6.2. I’ve also lost about 20 pounds… very much suppresses your appetite. I went from 175 to 155. I’m 5’8. So in that respect, it’s been great. However, I have had terrible nausea, especially the first 72 hours after taking it. Some stomach issues, especially that gagging feeling. I remain on it because of the A1c and weight loss, but I gotta tell you guys it’s been really rough. My husband is on a .5 dose, and he doesn’t seem to be having these issues."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic 9 weeks ago. I lost 50 pounds. It depleted my appetite completely. If I ate foods with fat, I felt sick. Nausea, stuff like that. It’s a great way to get yourself going in a good direction to eat healthy food only because it takes food cravings away. I have reached my goal weight, now I just need to maintain. I give this 8/10. The bad part I would say is you can eat over it if you really want to, and if you don’t have a healthy diet and exercise routine, you will gain it back because as soon as you go off, your regular hunger comes back."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been using it for 3 months now. I started using 0.25 and kept it for 6 weeks, only now moving to 0.5. Step by step is the right approach. Eating too much at once can make you sick. Combined with a light diet and physical exercise will make the results better. The only drawback is mild nausea and hair loss. I lost 20 pounds and my appetite went down a lot, so overall it was a good experience. I am pleased with the results and plan to continue."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started in late August 2022 at 0.25 for 2 weeks and then increased to 0.50 mg. For the first 2-3 weeks, I did experience some constipation; however, intermittent Dulcolax and increased water intake helped. I did not experience any nausea with the 0.25 mg dose; however, I did experience 2-3 weeks of intermittent nausea with the 0.50 mg dose. My doctor has recently increased me to a 1 mg dose, and I am again experiencing nausea (week 2 on this dose). While the nausea is definitely uncomfortable, it is not debilitating and hasn’t really kept me from any of my daily activities. Overall, I do feel like I have more energy. My appetite is significantly diminished, and I do not experience the cravings for sweets as I had previously. My A1C has gone from 6.8 to 6.1, and I have lost 28 pounds since starting. I am hopeful that the side effects that I am currently experiencing will diminish over the next couple of weeks. I feel like the positives of this medication outweigh the negatives."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on 0.25 for 4 weeks, then increased to 0.5. Reduced appetite, nausea, constipation, feeling like food just got stuck. I lost over 2 stone. Then started being sick every day, not eating or drinking, every time I did, I was sick. Then I was rushed into the hospital with severe diabetic ketoacidosis. One week after being out of the hospital and recovering, never using this medication ever again. Not worth risking your life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on this medication for 10 months. I started with .25 for 4 weeks, then increased to my prescribed dose of .5. My doctor and pharmacist correctly recommended this gradual increase. However, after beginning the .5, I became very nauseous, had diarrhea and/or constipation, terrible headaches, and all-around lethargy. It was awful. I toughed it out for 2 weeks, but that was it. At the advice of my pharmacist, who happens to be a diabetic counselor, I went back down to .25 for a couple of weeks, then very gradually increased my dose. A few extra clicks of the pen each week until I reached .5. Success!! Now I have no side effects and have lost 25 lbs, which is a significant amount for me. My appetite is very low, and I just don't experience any cravings that I used to. My guess is this very slow, gradual, almost click-by-click increase may be effective for a lot of people. I have read through many of these reviews and cannot imagine jumping right in with a .5, however, I am not a doctor, so..."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on 0.5 mg, but my glucose numbers are still a bit high. My A1C is awesome! Nausea when I overeat, which is not often now because the appetite suppressant is great! I have not lost much weight, so I am trying a 0.75 mg dose. 1 mg is too much, and I get nauseated."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "My doctor suggested I take Ozempic to bring down my weight and lower my chances of becoming diabetic, which runs in the family. I am 67 and trying to stay healthy. Started a month ago on .25, things were okay, some nausea and decrease in appetite. Started this week on .5 and have been extremely sick, two days in and vomiting frequently. Already have acid reflux, and it is getting worse. The most embarrassing part was today, as I was walking in the street, it just came upon me, and I had to find a corner to vomit on-a horrible experience, to say the least. I want to stick it out and hope it will get better, but I'm not sure I can. My doctor projects a two-month regimen. Hopefully, I can make it, but honestly, if things do not improve on my next dose, I will not be taking it anymore. I question the high out-of-pocket cost for a drug that is causing me so much misery."

"I began taking this medication off-label for weight loss. I am on my second week and took my second shot last night. I felt my appetite decrease the first week. I threw up from nausea this morning. I think I ate too much yesterday. The med does slow down digestion to leave you feeling full longer. I did eat a normal serving of dinner but had eaten a couple of hours prior, and I just don't think my body could process all the food. I won't be giving up on the med. So far, the nausea/vomiting and perhaps some vision changes are the side effects I am noticing. My eyes seem tired, and it's not that I can't see, but they feel a bit strained. I should add that so far, I have lost 5 pounds in 7 days."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic injections 3 weeks ago (by the way, I live in the UK). I also take Metformin and Foxigra. I had a slight headache and nausea, which I seem to get a few days after the injection. I don't find I get any appetite decrease that much, and I've put on weight this week. But sticking with it, so we shall see."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was placed on Ozempic last year because Metformin has always caused awful nausea. I have never in my life had any issue with constipation until I started taking this medication. I was so sick with diarrhea and throwing up 3 weeks ago I thought I'd actually die. I have had bad rashes. I think they would have been worse if I were not on allergy medication. The latest rash is healing. I've never had to take laxatives until this medication. I'd rather deal with the nausea than rashes, vomiting, constipation, poor appetite, and legs feeling strange. I wasn't overweight, so that was not an issue. My numbers have never been more than 6.1. Then, when I read that it can cause death, that was the end all for me. It may help someone, but I'm not the someone! Medicine should make one better, not worse. When I first started this drug, I spoke with someone from the company that makes it about the constipation issue and also my doctor. They said that it would get better, but that hasn't happened."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using for 10 months proximately (0.5 mg). It has steadied glucose with less insulin (Lantus), and I have lost about 25 lb (started at 302 lb). I would like a higher dosage to help with the weight issue, as it's been very helpful with appetite reduction. The doctor has not raised it for fear of hypoglycemia issues. I've had no real side effects beyond occasional nausea and constipation. Slower movement through the gastrointestinal system gives me a rather hard-packed stool. I have consistently had flatulence since week one."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Almost immediately, my appetite was dramatically reduced. Food still appeals, but I eat more slowly and much less. Midnight snacks have dropped to near zero. Minor nausea and minor constipation, neither require medication. I have lost 5 lbs in the first 10 days, down from 240 to 235. I am a 70-year-old white male, 5' 11", reasonably active."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Only problem I had with Ozempic was when I ate late. (Lesson learned.) All the issues were present: nauseous, bloated, burps. Appetite has decreased along with my blood sugar levels. After 23 years of management of a chronic condition, diabetes. This medication, along with Lantus and Novolog, sliding scale, has helped tremendously. Put myself on insulin 15 years ago, the cleanest form of control. But have tried additional oral meds with side effects. Lizard spit (Byetta). Management requires trying new medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just took my fourth dose of Ozempic - week four at .25. After reading some reviews, I was nervous. I am one who always gets the negative side effects. So far, so good! I have had very minimal side effects. Some nausea, but I have that anyway. I have a very small appetite and don’t crave the junk! I inject in my upper thighs. The injection doesn’t hurt at all. I definitely feel better and my clothes fit better. I don’t like to weigh myself, but my doctor will weigh me in a month! Hoping I’ve lost quite a bit. Worth a try if you struggle with weight loss and eating. You do have to eat small amounts and eat the right food and exercise. I was doing all of that and still gaining, so for me this is a win!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic to assist with my A1C. It was at 7.3 or so. After a month or two, it went down to 5.3. I have lost almost 50 pounds in the year I have been on it (up to 1 mg dose). It really works to suppress the appetite most of the time. The bad: diarrhea, belching (especially after high-carb or sugary foods), nausea at times (when I first started, it was horrible), going from not hungry to starving to puking in a matter of seconds. My husband is also on it, but he doesn't have the same side effects. It's easy to use if you can get over poking yourself with a needle every week. I get some injection site burning pain that goes away quickly."
