For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Ozempic for 12 weeks. Initial physical reactions were terrible, with diarrhea, burping, extreme bloating feeling, loss of appetite. It was terrible, as described by other reviewers. I ran to the washroom 20 times per day in the first 2 weeks at .25. It drained so much of my energy and day-to-day momentum. In two weeks, I lost 10 lbs due to loss of appetite and the diarrhea. At the same time, in 4 weeks, my blood sugar dropped from an average of 8.5 to only 6.2. In week 15 to date, I guess my body has adapted to Ozempic. In week 16, my dose was increased to 0.50. I also dropped one of my diabetes oral drugs. My bowel movements normalized to only 3 times a day. I still have a lack of appetite that I thought would be beneficial for me. For only once a week injection, I will continue having Ozempic."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Oh boy, oh boy. This was my second time taking this. Why I tried again is beyond me. Haha. Actually, my doctor talked me into it again. Plus side, I lost 15 lbs, not the plus side, made me super sick. Burps that smell like rotten eggs and puke that smells the same, constant heartburn and belly aches. Never could poop, which isn’t healthy. Not worth it to me. Not worth missing work over and my life. I’ll diet the natural way before I ever do this again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 6 months now. My weight has dropped from 134 kg to 102 kg, a loss of 32 kilograms. I was unwell for the first 2 months, but things settled after that. However, during the past month, I have started getting really bad nausea with some vomiting, diarrhea, and burping (sulfur taste). The doctor has dropped me back down to 0.5 mg dose to see if it improves. I do not take any other medication. HbA1 has gone from 7.1 down to 5.7. Blood glucose is in the 4.9 to 5.8 range. I must stress that for this to work, you have to watch what you are eating and do regular exercise."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After not being able to take Rybelsus due to the side effects, my doctor switched me to this. Started with 0.25. Did fine for 2 injections, so was bumped up to 0.50. Have had 2 injections and have been violently ill for 5 days both times. Diarrhea. Vomiting. Gas. Sulfur burps. I am lucky if I can keep water down. This is miserable. Doctor says it will stop, though it could take 3 months. Not sure it is worth it."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I just finished taking .5 mg and next week I start on 2 mg. I wasn’t nauseous for the last two months but am now nauseous every day. I want to know why the acid reflux and burping and hiccups occur and whether they will ever stop."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for about 2 years. I have no other issues, only constantly burping. My question is, how do you stop it? I have stopped the medication for a while, but it hasn’t stopped the problem."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve experienced a lot of nausea. No GI pain, no diarrhea. Lots of belching. I have lost 3 lbs the first week, although I’m only 8 lbs over my ideal body weight. My appetite is small, so I try to eat healthy foods. My average glucose (Dexcom 7) has gone from 174 to 157 in just one week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 and did not experience any side effects. However, my blood sugar rose from low 100s to 200-300. My dosage was increased to 0.5. I had gas - burping that was very bad smelling and tasting. I had mild heartburn and a decrease in appetite. My blood sugar dropped to the 200 range. My doctor increased my dosage to 1. I had days of debilitating side effects. The side effects gradually decreased. I am still having some side effects, but my blood sugar is now consistently in the mid to low 100s. I am hoping that as I continue the drug, I will have fewer problems and more success."

For Type 2 Diabetes "1. Very good to date with stabilizing my glucose levels. 2. Unpleasant gastric conditions, i.e., bloating, burping, farting, constipation. 3. I'm taking 0.5 mg weekly and finding it very, very difficult to maintain a regular supply of the 0.025 to 0.5 mg dosage."

For Type 2 Diabetes "No side effects other than loss of appetite and feeling full faster and eating less on lower doses. Good BGL around 100. Once I started 1 mg, I got indigestion, nausea, gas, burping, loose stools, and watery stools. Blamed it on PPI meds for GERD symptoms but continues after I stopped PPI meds. I'm guessing the loose watery stools is the Ozempic at this point. I'm supposed to go to 2 mg weekly but I may not be able to handle it at that dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is week 1, and I’m already feeling the side effects: headaches, diarrhea, stomach ache, burping frequently that smells like rotten eggs. I get nauseous and gassy. I don’t have an appetite for food. I just started this medication, but I like its cleaning out my digestive system. I am reaching out to my healthcare provider to see what I can take to help eliminate the burping."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for 2 years. Now I experience stomach problems and gastro problems. Stomach pain, nausea, acid and bile issues. Diarrhea, gas, burping all the time. I think it's taking a toll on my body. It sucks. There are times I can't even function. I'm lost now. Sick of being sick."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "35 lbs weight loss. A1C went from 5.7 to 5.2. Triglycerides now WNL. Triglycerides were high prior to Ozempic, even on a statin. Cholesterol (HDL and LDL) WNL. HDL was low and LDL high prior to Ozempic. Experienced moderate constipation, treated well with Senokot. Minor nausea at times. Belching if ate too fast."

"At first, all went well. I started at .25, then to .50, but when I went to 1, I started having issues: stomach pain, burping a lot, and strong runny diarrhea lasting for hours. Even after taking Gas-X and Imodium, it did not help. Stopping for now and will restart again in a few weeks at the lower dose. It did help me lose weight, I lost over 30 lbs in 5 months."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Lower doses caused constipation, at the highest dose of 2, I experienced a full day of being sick to my stomach after injection. On these days, I ate saltine crackers and drank Coke Zero. The following days, I felt bloated and experienced burping and gas. However, I continued to lose weight, and my A1c was down to 7.6."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Gas and belching is bothering my wife more than me. Doesn't seem to be getting any less with time. It did get worse when I started Repatha injections. Side effects aren't great, but not likely to kill me. Using 1 mg now, but the doctor is suggesting 2 mg, which to me sounds like double the effects. It's usually one or two days a week that aren't great... 3 or 4 days a week, and the wife will move to a spare room. Weight reduction has been 1 to 1.5 lbs a week."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "2-3 days per week I suffer from poor sleep and fatigue accordingly. Trying to get to sleep is bad, with body noises making it impossible. Also, constant burping with gas buildup, farting at night is awful, watery eyes. The other 4 days is fine. The days are not in a row and often vary each week. My rating of the medicine would vary on different days, bad days, bad rating."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic to hopefully lower my always high blood sugar. Even on high doses of insulin, my blood sugar stayed around 200. Ozempic not only lowered my blood sugar, I also lost about 15 pounds. Unfortunately, there was a shortage, and I was off of it, and then the dose was lowered. I gained the weight back, and my blood sugar went up. I am now on it regularly, and it keeps my sugars fairly normal. Occasionally, I do get annoying sulfur burps, and I do have bloating and constipation. My eyes and kidneys are okay."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Ozempic for about 3 months. Started at 0.25, then went to 0.5, then went to 1.00 2 weeks ago. Had some minor side effects (a little stomach upset, fatigue) with the lower doses, but just this past week, I have started severe diarrhea. I literally can't keep anything in my system. It is working okay... I have lost almost 15 pounds, but I am going to adjust the dosage down if the diarrhea doesn't stop. I also have had a huge increase in burping, which is manageable. Overall, I have positive things to say about this medication, but I think that dosing is pretty specific to the person and should be discussed with your primary doctor if severe side effects continue."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After taking this, I was very, very unwell, ended up in ICU-fighting to stay alive. I was unable to eat for 2 weeks, unable to hold fluids down, eggy burps all the time, pure acidic stomach pains! And bloating, this time I have been put on a smaller dosage as a trial and still have egg burps, acidic stomach, and bloating with pains! Feeling sick, hopefully gets better, otherwise, I will not take it ever again! Gave me bad diarrhea this time round, unlike last time, it was all vomiting & very weak."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 20 years old and was diagnosed at age 17 with type 2 diabetes. My A1C started off not bad, I was pre-diabetic for a year and then progressed to diabetes. I’ve been on metformin for 4 years and am currently on 2500 mg. I got my A1C blood test back and it was high, so my doctor recommended Ozempic. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks and it was horrible. I was vomiting nearly every day, had terrible cramps, especially at night, so painful I couldn’t sleep, horrible, disgusting-smelling burps like eggs, and the nausea was horrendous. I haven’t had much of an appetite, sometimes the thought of food makes me feel sick. I’ve lost 6 kg in this time, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth it. I’m currently on 0.25 mg at the moment and due for an increase to 0.50 mg. I’m not sure if I will stay on it. It’s incredibly hard to find supply as everyone wants it, and it kind of makes me mad that people are taking it off-label when there are genuine people with type 2 who need it."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "7/2/22 I have been on Ozempic for almost a week. My 2nd injection is this Friday. I will give my experience for the first week...and update in 3 months. My insurance covers this, and I only pay $24 for a 6-week dose. I have been on probiotics and magnesium for many years. I will keep using them through my Ozempic journey. I injected this at the starting dose of 0.25 in my thigh. The only side effects I have had are burping. No nausea and no other GI issues. I eat because I love the taste of some food. I just simply love the taste, and if it is really good, it is hard for me to stop. Not because I am hungry, but because it tastes so good. I snack when I am bored or at my desk while I work. I have found that, so far, Ozempic does not take my desire away for good-tasting foods, but I do get full very quickly, and I stop. Because of the lack of side effects and low cost, I will keep taking it and will update in 3 months!"
