For Type 2 Diabetes "I took one dose of Ozempic and I have been sick ever since. Diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, stomach cramps, and a little dizziness. This is terrible, will never use again. Can someone tell me how long these symptoms last?"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I went on Ozempic for weight loss after being told by a friend of mine about it - she started at 280 lbs and lost 60+ pounds. My whole life I’ve always been about 130 pounds, and then I rapidly gained 50 pounds within about 2 years. I started taking Ozempic at 182 pounds (I’m 5’4) and 6 months later I am down 25 pounds and continuing to lose. I could not recommend this drug more. It INTENSELY reduced my appetite and obsession over food. Aside from some occasional nausea (maybe once every 2 weeks), and some diarrhea, nothing that I can’t handle, the drug has been pretty great. This is only my experience though!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Since my first injection, I have felt utterly dreadful. The nausea is one thing, but I have constant fatigue that prevents me from leading my normal life. I know it suppresses appetite, but I don’t have ANY appetite at all and cannot face food. I know if I eat, I will feel a bit better, but it’s impossible. I actually feel like I’ve been drugged. Yes, the ‘food noise’ has gone, and I no longer overeat or binge, but I feel like everything is suppressed - like I’m on a strong drug. I did 4 weeks at 0.25 and have just done one week at 0.5, but I can’t do this anymore. I feel utterly dreadful. I am so pleased it’s helping so many people, but more research is needed into why some people just can’t tolerate it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for 8 weeks. At first, I had side effects of a lot of nausea. Now, I wake up cold and clammy the last week and very anxious. Overall feeling unwell. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I suffered from - Loss of appetite - Exhaustion - Nausea - Vomiting (once a week, usually 2 days after my injection) - Low blood sugar events (probably caused because I just had no appetite). When I spoke to my pharmacist, she encouraged me to try to hang in there, telling me it would get better, and it finally has. I was not expecting it to take over 3 months though. My readings are all good, and I've lost 28 lbs, so there were benefits to sticking it out, but it was hard. I had decided that I would continue to take the medication until my next appointment, and if things were still bad, I would tell the doctor that I no longer wanted to use it. Things are better, and my appointment is next week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Listen to me, Ozempic will change your life, but you cannot eat synthetic sugar at all. I had severe Hashimoto's, PCOS, insulin resistance, and severe diabetes symptoms. HbA1c was high, all cholesterols were high despite the healthiest of diets. My numbers cleared from severe to perfect in 1 month! I had full-body swelling, severely cracked ankles, swollen feet, neck, legs, major hair loss... a nightmare. I began taking Ozempic. I was very sick. It made me extremely nauseous. I got severe diarrhea, but let me tell you, I lost 17 pounds of water weight in one month. My doctor couldn’t believe it. In four months, I lost 40 lbs. The nausea was mild to severe the entire time, but the results were borderline insane. It reset my metabolism, took all of the inflammation away from my joints, neck, back, my feet completely healed within one month. It’s barely believable. I spent two months on 0.25 and increased to 0.5 once a week for ten more months. High praise!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I never leave reviews and rarely have side effects from medication. However, after one injection on the lowest dose, I am so beyond sick. Two days after my injection, I got a migraine followed by extreme vomiting for 4 days, chills, nausea, and a trip to the ER. This medication made me so unbelievably sick, it is like I've been poisoned. I have missed 4 days of work and am so weak. Living on Pedialyte and numerous nausea medications. Please be so careful. I was so hopeful and had no idea this would happen to me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor put me on Rybelsus in March/April 2020. I will admit the nausea was pretty bad for about the first month, but I stuck to it because it was really working well on my blood sugar. Since I started, I have lost 42 lbs! I have not been dieting, but I do have some outdoor projects that required physical labor, like shoveling dirt, clearing brush, moving stones, etc. The nausea only comes back when my sugar is low and I really need to eat. I don’t even get a growling stomach anymore. I would recommend Rybelsus to anyone looking to manage their blood sugar and lose some weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Horrible experience. I only took 2 dosages because I had difficulty functioning with headaches, eye pain, nausea, dizziness, and overall feeling awful. The additional issue is I've been off the drug for a week and can't get rid of the symptoms. I'm nauseous every day, with headaches, and dizziness. How long until all of this goes away?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my sixth week of Wegovy (4 weeks at 0.25 and now 2 at 0.5). I am a male in my early 50s, 5'9'' with a lot of weight to lose — about 120 pounds. In the first month, I experienced no side effects apart from reduced appetite and lost 10 pounds. I had just begun dieting when I started — nothing extreme, just eliminating the worst offenders: sugar, not eating after 6pm, and portion control. I have already lost 6 pounds this month. I have experienced some mild nausea this month on the 0.5 dose, nothing close to vomiting but definitely present, especially the two days after injection. Haven't had negative reactions to specific types of food like others have had until yesterday. Had some Korean BBQ and was burping garlic all night with some intestinal discomfort - so I guess that's a no go. I am considering holding at this dose before going up again. As long as the weight loss is happening at this rate, I am not keen to risk greater side effects."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was very frightened after reading the reviews. I am 52 and had gained from 130 pounds to 158, the most I have ever weighed in my life. Started the 3mg 3 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds with no side effects other than occasional slight nausea. My appetite has decreased but for the better. I am walking 3 miles a day and eating very healthy. Stopped drinking soda, now only flavored water. I consider this a miracle. Never lost weight this quickly. Happy as heck. Will continue the 3 mg and recheck A1C. So far this rocks. If it enables me to get in control of my eating and lose to a healthy weight to better my overall health, then I call it a huge success. Love, love, love it!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "My husband began taking Ozempic for his Type 2 diabetes several months ago and experienced minimal unpleasant side effects. His food consumption is down approximately 2/3 (no more 'first breakfast and second breakfast' and 'first dinner and second dinner') and he has been able to reduce his diabetes medications. He has been steadily losing excess weight. A bonus is the chronic loose stools he used to suffer have been eliminated. I started taking Ozempic for my Type 2 diabetes 6 weeks ago. My food consumption is down significantly and I've been able to discontinue all other diabetes medications. I've had some slight nausea and a mild bit of constipation, both of which have been easily alleviated through dietary changes (much smaller meals, more fiber and more spicy food). We absolutely love this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First, I wanted to say... I was TERRIFIED to start Wegovy because of all the negative reviews about side effects, but I convinced myself to focus on the positive reviews which outweighed the negative ones. I started Wegovy 3 weeks ago at 0.25 mg. I will be taking my 4th dose of 0.25 mg this week. I usually take it on Fridays around 9:30 pm so I can sleep off any side effects and then relax on the weekend. So far, I have experienced mild side effects on the second day after the first and second shot - nausea, light headache, a little dizziness, and dry mouth that lasted for maybe 1 to 2 hours. Side effects were manageable with Motrin/Tylenol and Pepto Bismol. I haven't had any major side effects. I weighed 210 when I started, and I weighed 199.5 this morning, so that's almost 11 pounds down in 3 weeks. I am happy I decided to not let the negative reviews discourage me from trying Wegovy. All I wanted to see was a weight under 200 pounds! I will start 0.5 mg in 2 weeks - will update again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started the 3mg of Rybelsus, the nausea for the first 3 weeks was nearly unbearable. However, like magic, around day 21, it stopped. I don’t feel as full as I did at the beginning now that I’m starting my second month of 7mg. However, I continue to lose weight with diet and exercise. If you’re struggling at the beginning - hold on for 30 days - it might pass like it did for me!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took it for 8 weeks, made it through the 2nd titrated dose and couldn't handle it anymore. Nausea, gas, bloat, constipation, diarrhea, and it was worse at night while lying down. Never improved, but actually got worse by week 8. Not sure how anyone makes it to the full dose. Also did not drop a single pound. There were days I only consumed 600 calories and still felt awful. I read another review very similar and agree that you absolutely cannot eat anything spicy. Bland food days were better but there are not enough antacids and constipation meds in the world to make me want to lose 20 pounds this badly. Took my last dose 10 days ago and am still dealing with residual GI upset. Hope physicians are more forthcoming about the side effects and do not tell patients they happen but subside in a couple of days - they do not."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My health wasn't good, so I fired the nurse practitioner I was seeing and got an internist doctor. Found out my thyroid was almost non-functional, high blood pressure, and my pre-diabetes rate was on a serious climb. 1 year later, I was at the right dose of Synthroid. Doctor put me on metformin and phentermine, and added Ozempic 2 weeks later at 0.25. That was a rough ride, I was nauseated and dizzy a lot! I started at 265 lbs, and every day I would see a pound or 2 come off. As of this morning, I weighed in at 239, and I'm up to 1 mg dose of Ozempic weekly. I take the anti-nausea now just before my Ozempic dose, and that's it. I use doTERRA ginger. A1C down to 5! I'm glad I listened to my doctor and my pharmacist and stuck with it. Anything worth having doesn't usually come easy! I would like to get down to the 160-170 range, I'm 5'11'', and thinner than that, I start to look like Olive Oyl! OH Popeye!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began Wegovy in late August '21. I had bariatric surgery in 2000. Menopause, major life changes, and COVID resulted in a 60 lb weight gain over 5 years. It's May 1, and I've lost a total of 81 lbs. My BMI has gone from 38 to 25, and I never got to the 2.4 injection. I had slight nausea and 2 incidents of gastrointestinal uncertainty ('sharts') the first 2 weeks, but nothing after that. I walked 1.5 - 2.0 miles 6 or 7 days weekly, ate a high-protein, low-carb diet, switched to 50/50 Stevia/Sugar as a sweetener, and ceased eating after 8 pm nightly. I feel great, and because of my weight loss, I can delay my other hip replacement. Wegovy gave me a second chance at better health, and I'll continue to use it for maintenance."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on my 13th week at 1mg now. I love it. Yes, I was nauseated at first, but the quick weight loss results made me want to continue. At this dosage, I am not really hungry for food, and if I do feel hungry, it doesn't take much food for me to feel satisfied. I have really cut my portions and also use high fiber, high protein foods. Constipation is real, people, laxatives help. I make good food choices now and am down 25 lbs. I want to keep going, but the coupon has run out, and now my out-of-pocket cost with insurance is around $900. I am so disappointed to have to stop and worried about gaining back or not losing anymore. Novo really needs to make this affordable. The price is ridiculous, and millions of people are dying from comorbidities to obesity every day. I have high-end insurance, and still cannot afford the copays."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took Wegovy for a few months and did, in fact, lose some weight. The side effects are terrible, as so many others have noted here. One thing that they don’t tell you is that the drug slows down the stomach's ability to empty. This is why people feel full and experience reflux, nausea, etc. In my case, the drug not only slowed down my stomach's ability to empty, it permanently paralyzed my stomach muscles, a condition called gastroparesis. The only remedy was to have a neurotransmitter implanted in my stomach, which forces the muscles to move. Do NOT take or first this medication. You could end up like me with a lifetime medical issue. No weight loss is worth that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Wegovy since August 2021. I am down 45 pounds. I did low carb with this which has really helped me to lose the weight I have wanted to lose. The side effects are very real, extreme constipation and nausea for two days after injection. The doctor prescribed Zofran for the nausea and I have taken a stool softener for the constipation. All things said, it really helped curb my appetite. But you have to diet with it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "With just one 0.25 mg dose, I became very ill. Relentless nausea, vomiting, and explosive diarrhea, as well as unbearable stomach cramps. Needed to go to the ER for fluids and to check for pancreatitis. It’s now been 9 days since my first dose, and I still have relentless diarrhea, nausea, and disabling fatigue. I don’t want to eat. I didn’t want to take it in the first place but was ambushed by my kidney doctor. She told me that using Ozempic was a no-brainer and that I would just have a bit of nausea. If you have any gastrointestinal symptoms when taking any medicine, I would think three times about it before using it. I have read it can take up to a month for it to be flushed out of your body, but I am hoping and praying that these horrible side effects stop real soon."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "57-year-old on this for 3 1/2 weeks. I'd like to tell you how much I lost (was 4 pounds at 3 weeks), but I am so constipated for 4 days I cannot be sure what my real weight is (it could be 6 pounds now). Get a telemedicine provider to send you a vial of semaglutide (not the pre-loaded syringes) and use an insulin syringe to administer 1/2 the dose on one day with an ODT Zofran, then take the second half of the dose 24 hours later with another ODT Zofran. I administer in my outer thigh, like you would give insulin. The provider will tell you exactly how many 'units' to administer per week, just cut it in half, say Saturday and Sunday. Take a stool softener on Sunday, which I forgot to do this week! I have had zero gastrointestinal issues, no nausea, no vomiting. The Zofran may be causing some of the constipation, and I don't consider this a real issue, just a minor side effect with an easy fix. I am a Nurse Practitioner, so I have been watching everything for real side effects. I'll update."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Rybelsus 3mg. I was nauseous at first and constipated. I was also belching a lot. After 2 weeks, that seemed to stop. I've been on the 7mg for 17 days and the nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, and now diarrhea have been almost unbearable and are getting worse. I've also started feeling panicky and anxious in the middle of the night with rapid heartbeat. I'm stopping the 7mg tomorrow and calling my doctor. I can't feel like this at Christmas. Going to see if she will put me back on 3mg. My A1C was 9.0. I have no idea what it is now. I've also lost 18 lbs because I can barely eat anything. This isn't worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Rybelsus since 1 December at a dose of 3 mg. January 1, I started 7mg. I don’t like taking medication and was scared of this medication due to other reviews I have read. I am very pleased with the outcome. I lost 5 lbs with very little exercise. My side effects were nausea and loss of appetite. Nausea only occurred when I ate junk food and sweets. A1c down from 7 to 6.2. Plus, I do not take any other meds for diabetes. Hope my review will help others. February 28."
