For Motion Sickness "I was going on a trip to France and was prescribed the scopolamine patch for motion sickness. I have Meniere's disease that makes any travel difficult. When traveling, I usually take large doses of meclizine, which controls the nausea, but I end up either sleeping or barely functioning. The patch was a miracle! I was not only able to take several flights but also fully enjoy riding in a car in France, Italy, and Switzerland through the Alps! The only thing I wish I had known about is the debilitating withdrawal that I discovered when I attempted to go back to work the day after removing the patch. I am on day 4 of only being able to stand for minutes at a time before feeling like I am going to either throw up or pass out. I am on meclizine and hoping it passes soon. I wouldn't change using the patch knowing what I do now, but I would have managed my schedule to allow some recovery time. It was the trip of a lifetime."

For Nausea/Vomiting "After using the scopolamine patch as directed for post-operative nausea, I removed the patch after 72 hours. Within 24 hours of removal, I got severe shakes, intense nausea and vertigo, and severe dizziness to the point where I am unable to stand. I told my surgeon about these symptoms and was advised to go to an emergency room. The risks of this drug do NOT outweigh the benefits."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "I had to have surgery and have a history of nausea and vomiting, so the doctors put one of these behind my ear. It worked great! No nausea at all. Since pain pills also make me sick, I got a prescription for three patches to bring home with me. No problems so far!"

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "I've had terrible motion sickness, and nothing has worked until I used this medication. It worked perfectly the first few times. I took it every time I traveled in a plane. However, I've noticed the more I use the patch, the worse the side effects have become. After using the patch, I now experience extremely dry throat, eyes, nose, blurred vision, and even nausea. Although it has successfully kept me from becoming sick while traveling up until this point, I'm not sure if this effect will always hold true."

For Motion Sickness "If I could give this drug a negative rating, I would. Please be careful taking it. I sought the patch to use on a 6-day cruise after reading that it was more effective than meclizine. Meclizine is a joy compared to scopolamine. On the patch, I was at the ship's infirmary every day with low blood pressure and feeling overheated (cruise was in Canada during fall - not warm weather!). Wicked, constant headache, nausea, and I could barely keep my eyes open for the entire trip. Ruined vacation. Disembarked and went straight to the ER. Was completely dehydrated. The ER doctor informed me of documented instances of scopolamine psychosis. Very dangerous medication, here!"

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "I had a tubal ligation and told the nurse beforehand that I was worried about the general anesthesia making me vomit, disturbing my incision. She gave me this patch behind my ear, and I didn't feel one bit of nausea after the surgery. I left it on for four days (even though it is rated for 3) just to make sure, and it worked flawlessly."

For Motion Sickness "I used the patch for a four-day cruise. I put the first patch on Thursday, the day we left port, left it on for three days, then removed it on Sunday and put on a new patch. I took that patch off on Monday when we hit land. The scopolamine patch worked great while on the ship, I did not have any motion sickness. However, about 8 hours after removing the patch, I started having very blurry vision, followed by dizziness, nausea, palpitations, and fatigue. Requiring two days off work because I could not drive or read close print. After 2 days, symptoms resolved. I would use this patch again, but for a four-day cruise, I would leave on the first patch for one week and let the dose gradually decrease to avoid the scopolamine withdrawal symptoms I experienced, which were quite debilitating."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "Second time I have used, first was for a 3-day cruise this time for 5. I was OK while wearing it, but a few hours after I took it off, I got dizzy and very nauseated with blurred vision. Dramamine helped some. Next day I felt awful but ran a half marathon and ended up in urgent care because I was so nauseated after, and my arms were tingling. He gave me meclizine, which has helped some, but it's still going in 4 days later. Hoping it ends soon."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Had surgery, and they had me put this on to minimize secretions and for nausea. It worked amazingly while it was on as I was taking pain meds and went under general anesthesia. I was suffering from very bad vision, though, and it was quite alarming how I couldn't even read simple things. The day I took it off, I threw up multiple times and had EXTREME nausea and dizziness. For two days straight, I slept all day and night because it was too miserable to be awake. It took a good three or more days for me to not feel nauseous anymore. My mom also experienced a similar rebound effect. It works well for while you're on it, but be careful because some people get these adverse effects like me!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "My doctor used this right before surgery and 3 days after. I normally get so sick from general anesthesia, but with this patch on, I never once got that nausea feeling. It worked like a charm! I took it off today and got a slight headache, I'm guessing just slight withdrawal."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this patch after telling my doctor that many medications make me nauseous, and I was worried about waking up from the procedure feeling sick. They put the patch on me, and soon after, I was wheeled into surgery. As soon as I woke up, I vomited a few times. This possibly could have been prevented if given the patch earlier, not right before surgery. I was told I could keep the patch on for 3 days. I took it off after 72 hours of having it on, and within an hour, I was a complete mess. I could barely walk and felt extremely sick. It felt as though I overdosed. It was a very scary experience. I came to discover that this medicine has a syndrome connected to it. After being frightened for several hours, I did some research online. I started taking Zoloft to combat the effects of the last medicine. I felt better 24 hours later."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I recently had a lumbar discectomy on my L4, L5, and L5-S1. I have had terrible nausea and motion sickness after anesthesia in the past to the point of losing consciousness on my way home. I made sure to ask for something to keep me from feeling so terrible, if they could. Aside from IV medications provided, they also put the scopolamine patch on me. It has done WONDERFUL things! I have had no nausea or motion sickness. I have been really sleepy, but other than that, I couldn't be happier! My doctor said I can take off the patch tomorrow, and I will be leaving it in place until then :)"

For Motion Sickness "I had used this patch that was meant for a 3-day cruise. Once it finally kicked in, I felt so dizzy I felt I was going to fall down. I just chalked it up to the nausea from seasickness. I started to get sick, not able to eat or enjoy any activities on our cruise. My bf suggested it might be the patch causing the nausea, not seasickness. I took the patch off, and it was so much better! I wasn’t nauseous or as dizzy anymore. I was extremely disappointed with this medication. My doctor also mentioned that if you use this medication, you could get withdrawal symptoms once you stop taking it. Glad I didn’t use it for the whole 3 days!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have a history of postoperative nausea, and right before having general anesthesia, the nurse put one of these patches behind my ear. She told me to leave it on for three days and that there are typically no side effects, just some slight dizziness. After surgery, I had no nausea. I removed the patch after the second day because I had read about possible withdrawal symptoms and didn't want to get them. Sure enough, after about 9 hours, I woke up in the middle of the night nauseous and dry heaving. Other side effects I had were extreme dry mouth, blurred vision, and hallucinations. Nausea lasted for several days, and I took Dramamine and Zofran to try and fight it. It wasn't worth the benefit, in my opinion."

For Motion Sickness "I used two scopolamine patches over the course of eight days and avoided motion sickness during my vacation. After taking the patch off, I have become miserably sick. Vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches. I can't even get out of bed, and it's been three days! I have used this medication before for single-day events- a fishing trip, snorkeling, and long bus rides successfully with no side effects- but only left the patch on for the duration of the event- less than 12 hours. I will never leave a patch on for more than a day again. I have never felt so sick in my life! This medication does what it is supposed to, but the withdrawals are worse than any motion sickness one could possibly have."

For Motion Sickness "As someone who gets sick looking at water and rides that go around and around, this patch was great for my first cruise. The boat swayed, and I felt nothing. Thirty-six hours after the patch was removed, after using it for eight days, switching out a new one after four days, I feel horrid. My nausea is constant, and I am on day three of the patch being removed. I am also suffering from severe exhaustion. I had blurred vision, but that was much better to deal with than motion sickness. Will I use it again? Not sure. I have not thrown up, and I don't have severe headaches, so maybe the end justifies the means."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Went on a 5-day cruise. Usually get motion sickness very easily. So trying to avoid that, my doctor gave me the patch with the understanding that it would only last 3 days. Since it was a 5-day cruise, she gave me 2. They worked awesome! Stayed very thirsty the whole trip, but not one time was I sick. After we got off the boat and made it back home, I removed the patch. I have been so dizzy and nauseated that I can't work, can't drive my car, can't do anything without the room spinning. Not sure the aftereffects of the patch were worth it."

For Motion Sickness "While the patch made it possible for me to sail the Caribbean with no motion sickness (I wore it for 4 days), when I removed it, I experienced severe blurred vision, felt dizzy and nauseous, and weak and could hardly stand! This drug is poison."

For Motion Sickness "I've used it 3 times now for deep-sea fishing. The first two times, it worked great - no motion sickness. The third time I used it, I almost died. I threw up for 9 hours. I was heaving so hard, all of the muscles in my torso are sore. At the end, there was not even bile in my stomach, and I was still heaving. I had no problems after the patch was removed any of the three times I wore it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "So I got breast augmentation 2 days ago. And they gave me the patch before the surgery. I woke up and went home. I was a tad nauseous, but it wasn't bad. Didn't last long. But the first thing I noticed was cotton mouth. Then I started to experience farsightedness. I couldn't see close up. I found myself focusing like an old woman who holds her reading material way out in front of her. At first, I blamed it on my pain meds. But even when those would wear off, I still had blurred vision. I really hope this doesn't last long. Not worth it for me. Won't be taking again."

For Motion Sickness "Used for a music tour. Used for a day with mild success, but then the side effects were so bad it didn't matter that I wasn't getting sick from motion sickness-now I was getting sick from the patch itself. Dizzy, dry mouth, blurred/double vision. I fainted during a concert because the nausea and blurred vision made me super wobbly. I'm sure part of it was my body just reacting to the medicine in a negative way, and I know other people who used it to greater success."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I'm giving this 10 stars, so hopefully, this review is at the top. This medicine is already pulled off the market via pill form due to the side effects, and I believe the patch should also be pulled or at least labeled black box for how dangerous this drug is. I almost died last night from the withdrawals. I had a 72-hour extended release, I had surgery that went fine. While on the medicine, I felt great, however, I experienced urinary retention. I had to go to the hospital to get a catheter. While at the hospital, the nurses informed me that this is common for this drug and not to worry, to take off the patch. So I did, and I went home. A few hours later, I started to have withdrawal symptoms for something that was only in my system for 24 hours. I have never experienced withdrawals ever. My blood pressure dropped, and my heart rate did too, all the way down to 40 bpm. I started shaking and fainted. Once I was awake, I was nauseous and about to puke, then the hallucinations started."

For Motion Sickness "I've used the scopolamine patch before for severe motion sickness without noticeable side effects. However, for my recent vacation requiring significant travel, I wore the patches for 12 days, changing every 72 hours as prescribed. The withdrawal effects have been very unpleasant-vertigo, weird heartbeat, nausea severe enough to require me to lay down until it passes. It's been five days, and the symptoms are lessening, and Dramamine seems to help when they get bad. I don't know if I'll use the patch again or not."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I often get sick when going offshore fishing. I always trooper through it, but wanted something that may allow me to really enjoy the trip. This wasn't it. I have never been so sick. Every time I ate or drank for 10 hours out there, I would throw it up within 20 minutes. Usually, when I use one of the pills, I get sick once or twice, and that's it. This didn't work at all for me."
