Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "Wife used the patch, 2 or 3 of them, for an 8-day cruise. She had no sea sickness, but had bad withdrawals. 24 hrs after removing the patch, she has nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and blurred vision, absolutely miserable for her, and me too."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "First time I used the patch, I only started using it 2 hours before the flight and took it off as soon as I got to the place I was staying - about 11 hours. I was very sick for 2 weeks - nauseous and vomiting when in a vehicle. I was alright on the flight but not after I took off the patch. The second time I used it, my auntie who introduced me to the Transderm-Scop patch told me I have to leave it on for 3 days and only take it off for a shower and put it back on the same place, making sure it's dry first. This time I was good. Never felt dizzy or nauseous after 3 days of using it. I never use the patch for more than 3 days and only use half of the patch as it is a small round one. Been using it 4 times since 2005 and it is a lifesaver."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "While this medication did take away my travel sickness, I had blurred vision all week and now severe blurred vision 3 days after removing the patch, and I did wash my hands after applying each patch. I was extremely thirsty the entire week, extreme dry mouth. Approximately 24 hours after removing the patch, I felt so dizzy and severely nauseous for 2 days. I was vomiting the first of those 2 days. I should have heeded everyone's warnings about this toxic medication! I will never go near it again!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Do not take scopolamine! It feels like it is poisoning my body. I was given the transdermal patch during an ER visit for un-retractable Ménière’s disease, vertigo, and vomiting. I had never heard of the med before. The doctor said it was a safe option that worked fast. It stopped my vomiting instantly along with making me so drowsy I couldn’t stand and had to be wheeled to the car. I slept for 48 hours straight, while just having the energy to make it to the bathroom. I removed the patch after 48 hours and proceeded to get dry heaves, a horrible rash on my hands and feet (like I had been burned). Anxiety, hallucinations, insomnia, eye pain, dizziness, body aches, and muscle spasms. Still in bed suffering. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I left the patch on for the additional allotted day."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "I had been suffering extreme nausea and vomiting from vertigo. A friend of mine highly recommended this patch. I got one over the counter at the pharmacy. Put it in before bed, and when I woke up, my vision was so blurred that I couldn’t even read the time on my phone or stove. I couldn’t text, see the TV guide, or anything. Luckily, I had Siri on my iPhone activated, and she assisted me in calling for help. I unfortunately didn’t gain my full vision back until 36 hours later. One of the worst experiences I have been through, and I am not one to ever interact with anything. Will never take this again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "If 0 was an option, I’d give it that score. I got this patch put behind my ear before surgery, and it helped my nausea and vomiting upon waking up from anesthesia. After I had taken it off 72 hours later, my pupils were extremely dilated, and I could not see at all since my vision was so blurry. The vertigo sensation is terrible, as it feels like I’m rocking back and forth on a boat. The nausea is terrible now too! I wasn’t told of any of these side effects and would have never had this put on if I knew! I told my doctor about it a day after removing the first patch (because I didn’t know my symptoms were from withdrawal), and he prescribed ANOTHER patch for me to take! Out of confusion on what was wrong with me and being so sick from my symptoms, I wore another patch for another 3 days! My lesson is being learned the hard way. Hoping I’ll get better and back to normal sooner than later. All of these terrible withdrawal symptoms are NOT worth wearing that patch! Never again!!"

For Parkinsonian Tremor "Since I am 90 years old, I do not qualify for this medication as 65 years old is the oldest. However, since I am on hospice, I assume anything goes. I took the 1 mg patch for relief from Parkinson's drool, which it cured in 12 hours. However, it unfortunately caused my magic BM aid I was taking to not work, so I was then given a white powder to mix with water for having BMs, which was also rendered not to work. So, after 7 days and no BMs, it becomes scary. However, since it had been 2-3 days since I stopped taking the patch, everything blew up; I had the BMs big time. Plus, I became nauseous and threw up big time, even my complete dinner that I had consumed 6 hours ago. This was all repeated two times, after which I then read all about it online, but in my case, too late. So perhaps if one took the white powder/JODY more often, it may be worth it; otherwise, the nausea becomes unbearable. And all the bad stuff will happen 24 hours after once one stops taking or withdraws from the patch."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "I have used this medication for almost a year now. After about 6 months of use, the medication began to not work as well as it once did. I want to caution anyone taking this medication to be very careful about changing the patches exactly when you are supposed to. I was about 8 hours late changing my patch, then put it on and got into my car to go to my destination. After driving about 25 minutes on an interstate, I had to pull over and began violently throwing up. This vomiting lasted until I reached my destination, which took about 2 hours due to the constant pulling over to vomit. Once I could remain still and not move, the vomiting stopped, but the nausea did not stop until 4 hours after taking the medication."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "2 times I have used this patch, and both times have been a nightmare. Developed vertigo and had all of the side effects, such as blurred vision, dry mouth, and serious nauseousness and vomiting for 2 weeks. 2nd time developed Bell’s palsy and vomiting and nauseousness again. Will never use again. I followed the usage instructions exactly... still recovering."

For Motion Sickness "I used it as directed for my 14-hour flight. When it kicked in, I felt drowsy. Three hours before landing, I started vomiting, a total of three times until I landed. Tried it again on the return flight, extreme drowsiness, which caused severe nausea for 12 hours."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "I had to have surgery and have a history of nausea and vomiting, so the doctors put one of these behind my ear. It worked great! No nausea at all. Since pain pills also make me sick, I got a prescription for three patches to bring home with me. No problems so far!"

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "It didn't work so well for me. I had the patch worn behind the ear for 3 days. The patch stays in place even after showering, which surprised me. Just wish it worked better. The vomiting decreased, but left me with endless dry heaves and mad hiccups."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this patch after telling my doctor that many medications make me nauseous, and I was worried about waking up from the procedure feeling sick. They put the patch on me, and soon after, I was wheeled into surgery. As soon as I woke up, I vomited a few times. This possibly could have been prevented if given the patch earlier, not right before surgery. I was told I could keep the patch on for 3 days. I took it off after 72 hours of having it on, and within an hour, I was a complete mess. I could barely walk and felt extremely sick. It felt as though I overdosed. It was a very scary experience. I came to discover that this medicine has a syndrome connected to it. After being frightened for several hours, I did some research online. I started taking Zoloft to combat the effects of the last medicine. I felt better 24 hours later."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Never again!! They put the patch behind my left ear prior to hysterectomy, and 5 weeks later my left eye still has double vision and ptosis (droopy eyelid). Ophthalmologist says I got a massive dose of it into my eye through my bloodstream. He had never seen it last so long and impact such deep muscles. It paralyzes your eye muscles!!! When I left the hospital, my left eye was completely closed and stayed that way for over a week. Oh, and I vomited on the way out, too. So angry!"

For Motion Sickness "I used two scopolamine patches over the course of eight days and avoided motion sickness during my vacation. After taking the patch off, I have become miserably sick. Vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches. I can't even get out of bed, and it's been three days! I have used this medication before for single-day events- a fishing trip, snorkeling, and long bus rides successfully with no side effects- but only left the patch on for the duration of the event- less than 12 hours. I will never leave a patch on for more than a day again. I have never felt so sick in my life! This medication does what it is supposed to, but the withdrawals are worse than any motion sickness one could possibly have."

For Motion Sickness "I applied a patch as directed approximately 12 hours before heading out on a fishing charter in Prince William Sound. As soon as the boat stopped moving and we began stationary fishing in rollers, I became violently ill. I vomited consistently for 8 hours, could not maintain my balance, and experienced no respite. I've never been so sick in my life. The medication did nothing for me at all, and yet I was banking on its effectiveness."

For Motion Sickness "I've used it 3 times now for deep-sea fishing. The first two times, it worked great - no motion sickness. The third time I used it, I almost died. I threw up for 9 hours. I was heaving so hard, all of the muscles in my torso are sore. At the end, there was not even bile in my stomach, and I was still heaving. I had no problems after the patch was removed any of the three times I wore it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I often get sick when going offshore fishing. I always trooper through it, but wanted something that may allow me to really enjoy the trip. This wasn't it. I have never been so sick. Every time I ate or drank for 10 hours out there, I would throw it up within 20 minutes. Usually, when I use one of the pills, I get sick once or twice, and that's it. This didn't work at all for me."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "Patch used for second general anesthesia experience since I vomited after the first time. I know they also switched me from a gas/IV combo to pure IV sedation, so although I did not vomit this time (yay!), I don't know if I can attribute it to the patch or to the sedation change, but probably both. Please be aware these patches are NOT meant for long-term use - they will have withdrawal effects! If you rebound, you will have the very effects you were trying to prevent in the first place. For my purpose, after surgery, it's worked great. I wouldn't wear them for weeks at a time."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "Took a tour of Greece, Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. After taking the patch off, I had nausea, vomiting, and a headache. I have been back home for a week now and am still having headaches. It has to be from these patches because I never had headaches before. Will never use them again."

For Motion Sickness "Used for 11 days on a cruise and it worked exactly as predicted (usual dosage, one patch every 3 days), however, after two days on land, my head seemed like it was going to explode. As soon as we got into the house from a twelve-hour drive, I could hear the loudest hum in my head. It sounded like the fan in the furnace constantly roaring. Woke up the next day with everything spinning, the kind of feeling I would have if getting on a boat without any medication. Struggled through the day with a bad headache and wobbly feeling. Went for a walk to see if fresh air and activity would help. Seemed to be getting better, but the next day ended up vomiting in the morning. Rest doesn't seem to help much. Neither does the fresh air and working in the yard. Third day and still don't feel much better. The roaring in my head is just a constant noise, not quite as loud. Plan on going to the doctor tomorrow."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "I had surgery a month ago, and the anesthesiologist prescribed a Scopolamine transdermal patch due to my issues with motion sickness. I never had any issues with nausea and vomiting, not right after surgery or the next several days afterward either. I didn't have any side effects while wearing the patch or once I took it off either. It worked wonderfully! The nurse who gave me my discharge instructions said I can leave the patch on for 3 days and also told me to be extremely careful when removing it. She told me to try to be super careful when peeling the patch off and do NOT touch your eyes until you can wash your hands really well TWICE. And to also wrap the patch in a Kleenex or napkin, then shove it way down deep into the garbage can. She said if the medication gets into the eyes, it'll dilate them and cause blurriness for 2-3 days. I took her instructions to heart and followed them closely."
