Rimegepant for Migraine "I’ve taken Nurtec ODT four times. Twice as preventative and twice to resolve a current migraine. So far, it has not worked for me. Migraine worsens, and nausea worsens. I may try one more time, as I would love to get off the triptans, which work for me. But they are not good for your vascular system, and I have to take them many times per month."

Rimegepant for Migraine "No idea why my doctor gave me this. Tastes horrible, made me nauseated, and didn’t even get rid of my migraine. Was supposed to be better than Imitrex. Horrible. I’m going to ask for Ubrelvy instead."

Rimegepant for Migraine "I take 75 mg of Nurtec ODT every other day for the prevention and treatment of migraines. It's easy to use (even with dry mouth) as all I have to do is put it under my tongue and wait. There is no issue with the taste and no intense, nauseating aftertaste. I wouldn't be able to tell you if I experience any side effects that are really common with medicines, as I take multiple medicines and have a complicated medical history all across the board. I haven't noted anything in particular with it, though. It doesn't cause nausea, instead, it gets rid of the nausea I experience from migraines. No allergic reactions or muscular reactions. It does an extremely good job of managing my migraines. It takes 1/2 - 1 hr to kick in, and I'm able to function as normal. Rarely, do I have migraines that reappear the next day."

Rimegepant for Migraine Prevention "I have had migraines since 1982 (with and without auras - vision so bad I couldn't focus). Since then, I have had multiple sinus surgeries, which actually reduced the migraines, but multiple cervical fusions made it worse. I still get auras like rippling water over a rocky stream or flashing lights. Sometimes these are with or without pain, but I pretty much live with headaches 24/7 and have seen pain management since my last cervical fusion. They gave me a sample of this medication (to try) as a preventative where you take it every second day. On the days I took the med, it helped with the pain, where I could ignore it if I was busy. On the days I didn't take it, the pain was worse than it had been before I even tried the med. With one last tablet to take, it appears that it is not the medication for me. Side note... I did have some of the side effects they listed such as photophobia, nausea, and abdominal issues, but if this had worked, I might have stayed with it."

Rimegepant for Migraine "Nurtec was a game changer for me. I’m allergic to the other, more commonly prescribed migraine meds as they cause heart attacks. Nurtec is well-tolerated. I had a little nausea and mild dizziness. However, the majority of my symptoms went from severe to very mild within an hour. I’ve taken one dosage of 75 mg."

Rimegepant for Migraine "It's the best migraine medicine I've tried. I'm allergic to Imitrex and Maxalt. I would go to the ER when they got too bad, but then I had a kid who is autistic, and I can't go to the ER every time I have a migraine now because I have no one to watch him, because he won't stay with anyone but me. Now I do stay disoriented like I am during the migraine after taking, and I am still dizzy and nauseous, but the pain is almost all the way gone. Two hours ago, I was puking and my eyes were about to explode from my head, now I'm rambling on a forum. Anyways, Nurtec is really saving my life right now. It works! Fight and request for insurance to cover this!"

Rimegepant for Migraine "I started the Nurtec sample from my Dr. on Sunday. Sunday night started with nausea. Next day diarrhea, throat was tight, chest pains, difficulty swallowing, rash on my chest and neck, difficulty breathing, tongue was swollen. Had to go to the ER, they gave me Prednisone, Pepcid, Benadryl. Two days later still having throat issues and chest pain with some discomfort. So I would have to say this is not for me. Symptoms are getting better, but not 100% yet. How long does this last when you have a severe reaction?"

For Chronic Migraine "Probably the most effective acute preventative treatment for migraine I have ever tried, in 15 years (following a minor head injury and developing migraine as a result) this is the only drug I can rely on to intercept a migraine. Side effects: nausea and tiredness, also constipation and chronic burping. I still feel it’s worth taking despite this."

Rimegepant for Migraine "I take Qulipta 60 mg daily and use Nurtec as a 'fallback' medication. I used to take Nurtec daily before trying Qulipta, but Nurtec gives me extreme nausea. It works about 65-70% of the time to quell my migraines, though I've had much better success with Qulipta (works 90-95% of the time, no nausea, slight constipation that's combated by stool softeners). That said, Nurtec works well to pick up the slack on the few days where Qulipta lets me down."

Rimegepant for Migraine "This is a positive experience. I take propranolol for migraine prevention. My PCP put me on Nurtec ODT and it does take a while to kick in, but when it kicks in, it works! Yes, it can make you nauseous, but I suggest some OTC nausea medicine called Nauzene, which can be bought at CVS or Walmart. If that doesn’t work for you or you don’t like the taste, Phenergan helps too, but it can make you tired. I say it’s definitely worth at least trying out. I was scared due to the bad reviews, but I’m glad I gave it a chance! Unfortunately, my insurance didn’t cover it, but if you go on their website, they have a copay card for a 30-day supply :)"
