For Nightmares "I suffer from PTSD that triggers night terrors. It got to the point where even high doses of medical marijuana didn't help. I am on Ambien for insomnia, but the PTSD developed after the fact, and there was no improvement with or without Ambien. My psychiatrist told me about prazosin and said how there's a large range of dose options, but we'll start low. Be sure you're steady when standing up and down when you take it before bed, because it can make you dizzy since it's traditionally for heart-related illnesses. I am now on 4 mg, and my night terrors have decreased maybe 55-60%. I don't want to increase my dose because of occasional nighttime dizziness, although he said that some patients do go up to 15 mg. I do still have dreams and nightmares on occasion, but not nearly as much or nearly as vivid."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "Absolutely horrid medication for PTSD! I had normal BP prior to starting prazosin. It lowered my BP too low; dizzy, blackouts, passing out just from standing, caused constant heart palpitations and pains even when resting! Night terrors worsened. Raynaud's became extremely painful and hasn't gotten better since stopping the prazosin!"

For High Blood Pressure "Using this for parasomnia, BPH, and BP. Kind of silver bullet. But my new doc tried to give me the brand name... Is it an extended release or just much more expensive? I only take it at night and dizziness hasn't been an issue. Seems to work as well as other BPH meds that I have tried, my BP has also been reasonable. Seems to make sleepwalking more infrequent, which is why I tried it."

For Nightmares "I take this for C-PTSD with dissociative symptoms, and it’s doing its job when it comes to the PTSD stuff. Been on it for a little over a year, but it's gotten rid of my sex drive. I started on 1 mg at night, went up to 6 mg at night and 2 in the morning, but I started having dizzy spells, so we went back to 4 at night and 2 in the morning. Hasn’t helped with the nightmares, still have them most nights, but I’m at least not on edge all the time anymore."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "Taken to relieve nightmares caused by PTSD. Works well but lowers my blood pressure. Leaves me short of breath and dizzy at times. Worth it to prevent horrible flashback dreams."

For Nightmares "I was prescribed prazosin, but I still have extremely vivid dreams. My wife tells me that I toss around and jabber in my sleep. I wake up dizzy and tired for most of the day."

For Nightmares "I was so excited to read the reviews and hopefully get a good night's sleep finally. It didn't work for me. Panic attacks accompanied the nightmares and extreme dizziness all day long. :("

For High Blood Pressure "I've taken APO-PRAZOSIN 5 mg on and off for 4 years. I have stopped taking them because of dizziness and nausea. The one thing that is good about them is they make you sleep. But I will never take them again."
