For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "I take 4mg at night and feel terrific in the morning! Some nausea at bedtime, but totally worth it to have a good night's sleep. I also take Viibryd. I have noticed a significant weight loss too. I have lost over 48 pounds in four months. I'm happy, very focused, and feel well-rested. My depression has faded as the weeks go by. I'm glad the doctor felt comfortable putting me on Minipress. I was taking so many pills that had me in a continuous cycle. Now I'm on two medications and they are working wonderfully together! It sure beats 7 different medications working against each other."

For Nightmares "I had an event trigger increased anxiety, panic attacks, and recurring nightmares. The doctor let me know it sounded like PTSD and suggested I try prazosin in addition to my normal medications. I started off on the lowest end of the dosage, and after a couple of weeks, it was working well. Every few weeks, I found the nightmare would come back, and I did have to increase the dose. That would stop it for another few weeks or more, and when it happened again, I'd increase it again, and now I take the max dose (I think it's 10). It's improved my sleep since I'm not waking up from this panic dream every hour. I cannot recommend it enough for traumatic nightmares. I do have one side effect: if I smoke a cigarette in the morning, it almost always makes me puke. Why?"

For Nightmares "Been taking 1 mg of prazosin for the last 2 months for PTSD nightmares that were causing sleep problems. Nightmares stopped the first day I took it, but I experienced severe headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, and a lack of energy. As I got used to it, the symptoms gradually improved but did not go away completely. If I've been drinking, the symptoms will worsen, but it is bearable. Overall, my nightmares have become rare, and I can sleep through the night; the side effects are worth it."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "After getting off of the max of trazodone, my doctor prescribed me this so I can get a better night's rest without having nightmares. This has been making me stay up all night. It's acting like speed and is increasing my heart rate. I feel dizzy and nauseous, and I am shaking as if I had a gallon of black coffee."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "I’ve had PTSD since 9/11. I’d wake several times a night in a jump scare state, or as soon as I’d begin to relax, my mind would wander back to that day and my heart would be racing. It was hard trying some sleep tablets, Valium, even Ambien, which puts everyone to sleep! Years of night terrors went on until I couldn’t even work anymore. My psychiatrist suggested Minipress, it was a wonder drug! In hindsight, I now feel the name brand Minipress was a bit too heavy for me in the daytime, or maybe I should’ve taken a lower dosage. But when my pharmacy told me that TEVA began manufacturing a generic under the name prazosin, it's amazing, it’s changed my life. I’m still able to think and function without feeling weak and sad. I can sleep at night, and I had even begun having pleasant dreams. Only now, my insurance won’t cover it, and I’ve been forced to get the Mylan brand. The headaches and weight gain, nausea, and dizziness are so bad that after 3 months, I just started paying out of pocket."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "I was diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety five years ago, been on many meds for it, trying to find one that works for me better than Valium because of its addictive behavior. This prazosin didn't work at all, I got severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, and still couldn't sleep."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "I started taking prazosin to help my nightmares caused by PTSD. It does help me not feel as panicky or wake up having a panic attack, but the side effects never went away for me. I’ve been taking it for 9 months, and I still feel faint every time I wake up in the morning, even though I’m only taking 1 mg at night before bed, and I’ve never increased the dose. It’ll make me nauseous if I don’t eat before taking it, and I’ll have full hangover symptoms the next day. Talking to my provider ASAP to switch to a new medication."

For Nightmares "I can't even put into words what a life changer this medication is for me. I've had terrible nightmares every night since I was a teenager and have been taking antidepressants for them for a decade, to little effect. Prazosin has given me the ability to wake up without shakiness, terrible memories of my dreams, and nausea for the first time in decades. I am endlessly grateful."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "Excitedly reading positive reviews, I felt sure prazosin was just the thing for my chronic PTSD - nightmares making me dread sleep, anxiety, depression, paranoia - and it would improve my BPH and hypertension! “Silver bullet” (as someone wrote) for ailments ruining my life! But I was badly mistaken - for me, more a “wrecking ball”! Took 1 mg prazosin before bed for a week, and every time, an hour or so after dozing off, I'd wake up gasping for breath, hot prickling all over my body, loud tinnitus, heart pounding out of my chest, with nausea and blurred vision. Blood pressure would then be around 160/100, HR 75 (before prazosin, only about 135/85, HR 55). Couldn’t go back to sleep until I took lots of acetaminophen, amlodipine, and Xanax (really trying to taper off, but prazosin ruined it). I'd get up in the morning with bad swelling in calves and ankles (much worse than usual, only amlodipine). Truly happy for people for whom prazosin is a great help, but it’s definitely not for some of us!"

For High Blood Pressure "I've taken APO-PRAZOSIN 5 mg on and off for 4 years. I have stopped taking them because of dizziness and nausea. The one thing that is good about them is they make you sleep. But I will never take them again."

For Nightmares "I've been taking prazosin for nightmares/night terrors for five years, and it's as effective now as it was the first time. A lifesaver. I never wake up nauseated and sweating from the memory of dreams that will ruin the day anymore. Thank God for prazosin."
