Pramoxine topical "The Proctofoam works great for immediate relief, however, you'll likely need to use it repeatedly. My husband struggled in misery and pain for years, so in addition, I gave him White Oak Bark, and within a half bottle, it had healed his hemorrhoid issues. He never suffered from them again. I'd suggest both."

Pramoxine topical "Proctofoam is a good product. Yes, the applicator can be difficult at times, so what I do is I stick it under my armpit for like 5 minutes to warm the metal container up. Then it fills the syringe with ease. This product is a lifesaver, especially when I'm sitting in the tree stand during hunting season. Thank you."

Pramoxine topical "I wish I could share a positive review for Proctofoam HC. I had a painful, swollen, exterior, burning hemorrhoid flare-up 9 days ago. Had Proctofoam HC prescribed 7 days ago. I also had Proctozone-HC cream prescribed and use them together for what it’s worth. Had to order it and have been using it for 6 days. It seems to help a little bit with the pain. I still have constant pain, but not as bad. I found taking 800 mg of ibuprofen along with 1000 mg of Tylenol stops the pain for at least 4 hours and sometimes all day. The swelling has gone down by half, but the hemorrhoid hasn’t gone back in, which is uncomfortable. I can push it in, but it comes back out. I’m curious about what my condition would be by now without the foam (which I paid $170.00 for), just using the cream ($35.00) and ibuprofen and Tylenol."

Pramoxine topical "I am in the same situation as above. This is my fifth day of having hemorrhoids and have used all the over-the-counter medicines. Proctofoam seems like it helps more. This is my first day of use, so hopefully the swelling subsides soon. Definitely better though."

Pramoxine topical "I have had a bad case of hemorrhoids for 6 months now and have tried everything OTC, even a few trips to the ER! I finally was referred to a general surgeon who said while yes, I have some hemorrhoids, I also have an anal fissure. He prescribed Proctofoam and so far, so good! No pain, no bleeding! My insurance did not cover this, and I had to pay $135, but it has been worth it! When I go back to the doctor in 10 days, I will update my review and rating!"

Pramoxine topical "This medicine did not work at all! Very disappointing after paying almost $99.00 for it! I’m not sure if I got a defective bottle, but I am very disappointed. Guess I’m going to have to go to plan B!"

Pramoxine topical "It didn’t help as much as I hoped. It was disappointing after so many positive reviews. The hemorrhoids have shrunk slightly but seem to still be getting flared up, and I’m still in quite a bit of pain."

Pramoxine topical "I will say, this stuff works phenomenally. Been dealing with hemorrhoids for 10 years. This gave me the relief I needed to heal. I don't, however, care for the applicator syringe. A large portion shoots out around the plunger, and once it actually popped open and exploded all over me, discoloring my clothes."

Pramoxine topical "It seemed to work at first and ended up getting a refill and using it for almost a month, but it's been a couple of weeks since my refill ran out and I have blood on the toilet paper again. Maybe it's my own fault for not eating enough fiber while I was using Proctofoam, but still, it's frustrating."

Pramoxine topical "I'm 56, healthy, no other meds, been on Proctofoam for several years. Only 2 refills a year, started out at $101, then $125, today it was $135. Insurance won't cover it, shame on Blue Cross and Blue Shield. I don't use a full dose, it works pretty quick! If you're not careful with the adapter, you will waste a half dose. Last year, my gastroenterologist said everything looks good during my colonoscopy, I received a 10-Year Certificate. Lol."

"Anusol Plus? (I would call it Rectol Plus.) Finally! The pain is reducing! I've been using Prep H, 50% w/w witch hazel... That helps. Lidocaine creams and gels: (useless) Betaderm 0.1%/Clotrimaderm Cr 1:1. I've had piles for over a year now. I've changed my diet. All the tests have been done. Now I'm waiting for a specialist in 2025! I went to see my GP because I can't function. I have internal piles. Blood clots... They're so big, it's one massive bulge. The doctor pushed past them. (It)... said: 'I don't feel anything.'... 'That's because of the glove, and you passed over it.' I told them they have been prolapsing and bursting. They prescribed 'Anusol Plus.' The anesthetic pramoxine works! The applicator tube is good. It’s too big and long for me, but it’s the best design around. I used three dime-sized dabs. Oooh! It burns, I don't know if that's my piles or the zinc sulfate. After 5-10 minutes, the pramoxine starts to take effect, and I can almost dance! It still hurts, but without it, I am bed-ridden."

Pramoxine topical "This is the 3rd time I've been prescribed Proctofoam HC, and I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love it because it's so incredibly helpful and actually helps with my hemorrhoids in ways that creams can't seem to touch. But I hate how much I struggle to fill up the applicator. It's a very tedious design, in my opinion. I feel like I'm somehow doing something wrong when I try to fill it, even though I'm doing exactly what the instructions tell me to. I wish they could make it more user-friendly. TL;DR - I find it really frustrating to put in the applicator, but it's worth the struggle because it's so effective for both internal and external hemorrhoids."

Pramoxine topical "When I first used Proctofoam, it burned a little, but within 5 minutes, there was relief from the excruciating pain that nothing had ever helped before. It shrinks the inflammation and made going to the bathroom easier. A tip to avoid wasting the product I have found is to not put the plunger all the way on the “syringe.” Just lightly lay it on top so it doesn’t spray out. Then, when you have your desired amount inside of it, bend the plunger slightly to one side and slide it down until the product starts to come out of the tip. The only bad thing about this product is the high price. There isn’t a generic as of yet. Some insurances will deny it until you’ve tried other products first. Don’t give up. Keep appealing."

"I'm back to say I wish stuff came with an XR formulation, or 2X the potency. The half-life is 9 hours. (Science) It only helps for 3-5... After that, I need more. I'm still in pain constantly. The only day in the past year I have not... was when I went to the hospital for a scope... I said, 'Give me the Fentanyl and Midazolam.' I can't stand up. I don't want to feel the biopsy, which they said wouldn't hurt... But it did for days. Something is wrong. I am waiting for another specialist."

Pramoxine topical "Been using this medication for a few years now, and is very effective! I've suffered from hemorrhoids my whole life! Many years ago, I was able to get this when it was introduced to me by a doctor. Said it was the best thing out in the market, and I will find relief instantly! And he was so right. My insurance had accepted that, and if not, he would have overridden it being it was a necessity for others didn't work! A few years later, on new insurance plan, they didn't accept, I dropped them immediately and found me a good insurance that does! This is mandatory for people who have bad hemorrhoids. A medication to shrink, dissolves to feel normal. Doctors who remove them physically is also temporary relief. All that for a surgery! I hope someday soon, Proctofoam can make it affordable for all that suffers from hemorrhoids! They would make more money than they know! Makers of Proctofoam HC dispenser, consider making a better dispenser!"

Pramoxine topical "After struggling for several months with external thrombosed horrible hemorrhoids, I finally got an exam and was prescribed Proctofoam. Within 48 hours, my body was happy. Hemorrhoid gone, no itching or bleeding! So worth the uncomfortable anal exam."

Pramoxine topical "Tried creams and TUCKs, nothing worked. Went to family doctor who prescribed Proctofoam, and relief came within 1-3 days. After 7 days, the medium to large hemorrhoid shrunk about 80%. Came with 1 refill (ask for refill), and the entire hemorrhoid (multiple bumps) was gone by the end of two weeks. I have had hemorrhoids return about once every few years now and immediately call the doctor and ask for Proctofoam. Take it until it disappears. For me, flying long distances seems to bring it back (sitting and maybe the altitude?). Highly recommend! It is a miracle drug."
