Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation, Acute "My first day of use of MiraLAX, I had a lot of passing gas and one small movement. My second day, a small movement, but cramping and bloating feelings began. At night, the nausea and cramping stopped me from sleeping. Third day, still some cramping and fullness. No movement, just cramping and bloating. Going back to the urgent care for instructions. Will not take MiraLAX again."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "MiraLAX doesn't do anything for me. I've tried it several times post-surgery or ER visit where opiates were prescribed. Even if I start taking MiraLAX the same day, I end up severely constipated, bloated, and extremely uncomfortable."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "My constipation worries all started when I was taking cholesterol medicines a few months ago and could no longer tolerate side effects on top of the constipation. Had to stop taking them. When I saw my doctor, she told me to get some calcium citrate supplement with magnesium to relieve the constipation. Well, it only made things worse by giving me bloating/gas. I believe that MiraLAX could possibly save me from all this misery, but it just started taking its effect on the third day, with some relief from this product but not quite 100% as yet. I have an appointment on the seventh day of this product to see if it will actually work out for my problem. Also, taking simethicone chews 80 mg with MiraLAX for releasing the fullness, gas, and bloat after meals."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "Ever since being pregnant with my son 3 years ago, I've been plagued by stomach problems: gallbladder stones, bloating, and constipation. I went a full month once with no bowel movement. Colace tablets were working fine until 3 weeks ago, I wasn't going and having lots of stomach pain. Dr. suggested Miralax. 4 days ago, I took it and felt bloated, tired, and headachey. Still no bowel movement, so I took a Colace. The Miralax started finally working last night, but it was the most painful bowel movement ever. 9 hours later, I still feel like I need to go, but now nothing happens when I do. Miralax did not soften bowel movements whatsoever. Very disappointed. I'm also on Subutex, so that doesn't help. I think I'll stick with Colace."

For Bowel Preparation "It didn't work too well for me. It took 4 hrs before the dump, and when I did, it was in small quantities throughout the day and no more. The bloating was so uncomfortable, but nothing major. Got a script for Gavilyte, and that worked wonders."

For Constipation "I am pregnant with uncomfortable constipation and have internal hemorrhoids from my first pregnancy. My doctor prescribed me Lax-a-Day (17 g in 250 mL glass of water once a day). It really softens stools but no bowel movements at all! No sensation of needing to go to the bathroom, so you have to try and push when you go, which is not good when you suffer from hemorrhoids! Besides, it takes 4 days to do something and makes me feel bloated right away! I’m 3 months pregnant and feel like I’m five! Awful!!!"

For Constipation "I took this for constipation secondary to hypothyroidism. It didn't work until I took three in a day. Then maintained at two a day. Could cause bloating and gas, but okay, better to poo and put up with some gas! I really don't like taking the synthetic compound. Isn't it an antifreeze ingredient? I have developed skin issues like some spots on my face, dry skin, and gained half a stone. But to be fair, I don't know if that's this medication or hypothyroidism, as I need to do another blood test. Laxido and Movicol are the brands I have access to. I did shit my pants once. That was near the beginning when I had plenty to give to be cleared out! I'm now going to try lactulose instead, as I think it's a bit less synthetic chemicals. I took 30 ml earlier, and it's already working. Taken at the right dose, Poly works, but can have some side effects."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 "I am now 63, had many colonoscopies, this time I had to also do an endoscopy, so I came here and ClearLax had the highest reviews. I tried Miralax, which is another name for it, but for some reason ClearLax worked out much better. I drank it with my eight mixed glasses, with four of them 7-Up, no sugar, and could not tell it had prep in it. The other four had two different flavors of Powerade, and they also had very little taste of it in them. It helped clean me out with no problems, along with two Dulcolax tablets, and then I had two simethicone tabs for bloating and gas. I bought it all myself at Walmart for under $25. It was the easiest and best colonoscopy prep experience I've ever had. I will definitely stick with ClearLax, most don't realize it's your choice what prep to take."

For Constipation "This is my 1st time rating something here. I am struggling with severe SIBO and have struggled with constipation my whole life. I have tried absolutely every single product for constipation under the sun, and Miralax (Restoralax) is the best! It works amazingly and causes no side effects for me. I stopped using it for a while because I was told how bad it is since it’s not natural, but let me tell you! It was awful not taking it: pain, bloating, constipation, etc. Constipation will cause or worsen SIBO. I swear by Miralax and I will use it for the rest of my life. I get regular bowel movements on it and do not feel like I am pregnant anymore."

For Constipation "This is the worst I have felt since I had appendicitis. Bloating, nausea, and some of the worst hiccups I have ever had. I will never take this again. It did help with the constipation, but it is not worth the pain."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "Absolutely not. It helps me use the bathroom most of the time, but the bloating is just unbearable, it’s like my stomach has been filled up with a hose."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "It's a hit or miss with this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and when it does work, I barely go at all. Most of the time I take this, and hours later I get stomach cramps and bloating, but no bowel movement. I have chronic painful constipation, and nothing seems to help. The doctor recommends this to me all the time, but it just doesn't work for me."
