For Bowel Preparation "Prep: From 5 pm until 7 pm, it went down fine with the Gatorade. Around 7 pm, I was doing a lot of tooting. At 7:30 pm, I started with three bouts of semi-solid stools. At 8 pm, I had a few room-cleaning toots and felt like I was going to throw up from all that liquid I had to drink alongside the prep (I ate Jell-O and drank a lot of clear broth to keep my strength up.) I completed the prep mixture as instructed. Then, nothing but watery, murky sludge from 8:30 pm until 4 am in 15-minute spurts. Your butt will start firing off some lava sludge after the first few bouts. It is a normal part of the prep, and it causes a definite rash where your external sphincter is. I slept from 4 am until 9 am and did one more sludge bout, but the sludge was more yellow, and only a few flecks were visible. I felt like I was going to go again on the ride up, but no more sludge happened when I went to use the bathroom before my procedure. The doctor was satisfied with how clean my colon was for the procedure."

For Constipation "I was diagnosed with IBS-C and chronic constipation about two years ago. The doctor simply wrote me off with a prescription that didn't work. Tired of tons of prescriptions that didn't help me go and gave me horrible symptoms, I ventured out on my own and drastically changed my diet, but even that didn't work! Finally, I tried Miralax because it was the only thing left and my doctor kept urging me to. I am so glad I did! I go two to three times a day and have normal stool. Sometimes my stool is on the runnier side, or I get stomach cramps before a bowel movement, but I am very happy with this product! It dissolves very well in any kind of drink. I recommend people to try it and give it about two weeks to work. Also, drink your water!"

For Constipation "Until about 5 years ago (when I turned 40), I very rarely had any problems with bowel movements. Then I got a toe infection which required antibiotics to clear up. It worked, but after that I started having problems with constipation. I tried more bran and fiber. It did not work. I tried eating more fruit and vegetables. It didn't work. It was getting so bad that I started to get hemorrhoids that bled bright red blood when I wiped. It was scary. I had to strain and strain just to get to the bathroom. I tried prunes and prune juice, and when it did work, it gave me the runs and lots of gas and cramping. I tried magnesium, and in order for it to work, I had to take so much that it gave me the runs unexpectedly. MiraLAX worked for me."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my 3rd colonoscopy in 2 years. Here are my experiences: 1st one - I used Suprep liquid and thought I was going to die. The taste was rough, but the chills, cramping, and the inability to move 2 feet from the toilet for hours almost did me in. It took days to recover. 2nd - I tried Suprep pills. They were SUPER expensive but easier to get down. Still had major chills, nausea, and cramps, and the result was much the same. The pills seemed to take longer to work, and I was worried that it would not finish in time. 3rd - the MiraLAX prep was the best! Gatorade made the flavor tolerable. I was able to drink it with no problem. I kept waiting for the drama, but it never came. I did the suggested soft foods the week before and included the 2 Dulcolax tabs at the beginning and 2 in the middle. The bathroom time was as expected, but no cramping or chills. Zero issues, procedure was flawless, and I feel great."

For Bowel Preparation "I drank the MiraLAX in 64 oz Gatorade for colonoscopy. No other laxative used. Drank the entire prep between 7 pm and 11:30 pm. Nothing happened until 12:30 am. Was up the entire night on the toilet until my colonoscopy at 6:30 am, including at the doctor's office. However, my prep was super clean, and I don’t need another for 10 years, so it was worth staying up all night for. I recommend - it wasn't that hard to drink, no cramping or pain, just a bloating feeling. Tasted fine."

For Constipation "I have Small Cell Cervical Cancer, a very rare cancer with an aggressive form of treatment. I had to undergo an intense amount of chemo and radiation therapy which was aimed directly at my bowels due to the field of treatment. This being said, I had a lot of cells that died off in my GI tract with all treatments. I also developed an internal hemorrhoid that literally has been HELL for the last 3/4 months. Miralax has been the ONLY thing to help cure this dreadful pain during bowel movements and keeps them coming loosely every morning! This is a hugely successful. Anyone who has ever suffered from hemorrhoids during cancer treatment to that area (impossible for it to heal & miralax made it possible!) THANK YOU!!"

For Constipation "The first day I took MiraLAX just once, it wasn’t working, so the second day I took it again and it still wasn’t working. On the third day, I took it again, then now on the fourth day (today), I can’t stop pooping. When it first started working, I loved it, but now I can’t stop pooping. Don't get me wrong, I’m glad I’m pooping because I was so backed up - but now I’m not backed up and I’m still just pooping all the time."

For Constipation "I've had chronic constipation since I was four. It was so bad that I literally had to see a 'poop doctor' until I was about seven. I started using MiraLAX whenever I was constipated at that point, and never once has it failed me. I once had a two-week period of constipation, my worst period of time ever, so I began taking one capful twice a day. Two days later, I produced two toiletfuls of stool. It ached a bit afterwards, but the process was very, VERY quick, and you could NOT believe how relieved and relaxed I felt afterwards. I'm in my late teen years now, and I still take it whenever I haven't gone for at least three to four days. It usually takes a day or two to work, but it's completely worth it."

For Constipation "Be patient-it may take a couple of days-but you will get results. Follow the instructions and take your capful each day in a liquid drink-I use apple juice. I absolutely cannot taste any difference. You will feel the urge, and there is absolutely no straining. It is a miracle OTC remedy!"

For Constipation "This drug was effective for me. I went through a bout of severe anxiety and panic for about 3 weeks. I lost 25 pounds and did not eat much of anything for 2 weeks. As a result, my digestive system basically shut down. When I began to eat again, I did not have a bowel movement for 15 days. I took a Dulcolax pill and had extreme cramping, dry heaving, full-body sweats, and painful bowel movements where I needed to be close to a toilet all day. I went another 8 days without using the bathroom, and I tried MiraLAX. I only took 1/4 of the dosage, and within a day I had 3 bowel movements. I did have some minor cramping, and I did sense an urgency to go and could not have held it, but it produced soft movements, not explosive painful ones."

For Constipation "I have had constipation for years, tried so many things. This was prescribed to me even though I'd tried it on my own over the counter. I decided to use it every day and see what happens. I did not use it alone, I was also using natural supplements like cascara sagrada and senna. I have found that I have to switch it up because whatever regimen I am using stops working after a while. I am here reading these comments because after using MiraLAX for about 2 months every day, I started having urinary incontinence. I have constant pressure in my bladder, and I have to go to the restroom more often. Also, when I need to go, I can't hold it, it's very uncomfortable if I try. I was working for constipation, that's why I had been using it every day. I was already checked for infection, UTI, and other issues. So because of that, I started to think about what I was doing differently. It was this MiraLAX, it is affecting my bladder. I just hope it's reversible."

For Constipation "From a combination of stress and a poor diet, I experienced some constipation last week. I did not have a solid bowel movement in a week. After seeing multiple ads on TV and reading reviews online, I decided to give MiraLAX a try. I found this drug very effective. I experienced results after just two days of taking it. I would mix a pouch of MiraLAX in my morning fruit smoothie for twice the stimulation. Today is day 5 of my one-week trial, and MiraLAX continues to work. I am so relieved to no longer be constipated. I have a lot less abdominal discomfort as well."

For Bowel Preparation "Rare side effect (high blood pressure spike) encountered: My doctor recommended that I use MiraLAX to prep for my colonoscopy. The instructions were to take 8.3 oz (roughly 15 doses) the day before and then another 4 doses four hours before the procedure. Everything went as expected until I got to the appointment, and as they were getting me checked in and ready for the procedure, discovered I had dangerously high blood pressure (i.e., over 200/100). I wasn’t nervous about the procedure and had just had my BP checked a week earlier, and it was around 150/80, still not the best, but nowhere near where it was after my prep. The only thing that had changed between the lower reading and the higher one was the colon prep with MiraLAX. WebMD lists it as a rare side effect, so likely it happened to be one of the rare cases. I wanted to share in case anyone else runs into this and can’t figure out why their BP went sky-high after using a high dosage of MiraLAX."

For Constipation "I hadn't had a 'satisfying' bowel movement for weeks. Just a little bit here and there. I weightlift and monitor my calories and weight, so I knew the constipation was getting serious when my weight was up by at least 5 lbs despite being on a 'cutting' diet. I took MiraLAX over two days (two doses total) - and wow, it really worked. Once I went to the bathroom, it was like a floodgate opened (sorry for the graphic description). But it came out firm yet soft. I had no painful urgency or side effects, just a natural urge to go. The only negative side effect I had was painless gas. Lots of it. But totally worth getting back to a regular state. I'm going to keep taking this for a few more days just to make sure I get back to regularity."

For Constipation "I have been taking MiraLAX for 2 months now due to constipation and hemorrhoids, such a blessing to me! Before MiraLAX, I used Docusate Sodium for 6 months, and it stopped working for me, which caused me to be constipated again, and it was leading me to extreme depression. I used MiraLAX, and it has not let me down at all!!! I love it, and I highly recommend this to anyone who is suffering from straining and constipation!!! Thank you, MiraLAX :)"

For Constipation "Just been on this for 2 days. Don't know if I'm gonna go, but one cap = 1000 facts!! If this can make me go without the pain I experienced with Ex-Lax, I'm all in :) Took Ex-Lax a week ago, and 12 hrs later, every inch of my body was sweating from my eyebrows to my knuckles. I didn't know knuckles could sweat. After an hour of extreme pain and making baby Jesus all kinds of promises, I finally went. I started the MiraLAX the next day, and I have not gone, but I'm sure it's coming.... The problem with the gassy side effect is I work with one other person in an office. Who do you blame it on?"

For Constipation, Acute "I've been constipated for some time, and I couldn't have a normal bowel movement. Then a friend recommended I try MiraLAX because they were hospitalized and having problems. I tried it the first day, and I loved it so much that I do it once a day, every day to once every couple of days. I highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from constipation. It also mixes in well with anything you want to drink, so it's tasteless and easy to drink."

For Constipation, Acute "MiraLAX is amazing! Give it a few days to work. It’s not instant, but it works. I promise. I’m 17 weeks pregnant and hadn’t pooped in 5 days. (Trying to go made me cry, sweat, and bleed. It felt like I was stuffed up with a softball.) I was ready to go to the ER for manual disimpaction :( Then, on day three of using MiraLAX, I pooped! Yes!! I literally skipped and ballerina-twirled out of the bathroom! I texted my husband and best friend that I pooped! I can’t wait to gift a bottle of MiraLAX to all my pregnant friends :)"

For Constipation "If you're constipated, it can take a couple of days, maybe even a week, it all depends. Keep taking it till you get a bowel movement and keep taking it if you're someone who deals with constant constipation for whatever reason. I was on opiates for 10 years, unfortunately, but some people need them. If you need them for lifelong pain, then you better never plan on getting off them, 'cause you'll experience the worst thing in your life physically and mentally. Even when you're clean, you forever deal with severe depression, anxiety, along with body pain. I ended up having to get on methadone 'cause I couldn't handle being off opiates, so that also gets me constipated, but I use this 1 cap a day and haven't been blocked up since! Stool softeners don't work, only MiraLAX."

For Constipation "Within hours of taking the recommended dose to help with post-op constipation, I basically got to relive the experience of a bowel prep all over again, but this time with violent gas pains, cramping, and bloating. I woke up at 1 AM and spent the rest of the night and following morning staggering back and forth from bed to the bathroom in agonizing pain. When the waves of cramping hit, I could barely stand or move. Excruciating! The worst part was, the consistency of my stools was so weird that I just kept having to go very little amounts at a time. It felt like the misery would never end. Especially after my poor insides had been scrambled around during surgery, this was one of the painful things that could happen. I even passed out for one hour in between all the madness and had a vivid nightmare that I was deceased and no one could help me. That is a pretty fitting summary of what taking one dose of MiraLAX felt like post-op. This stuff is pure awful."

For Bowel Preparation "I have always used MiraLAX, plain with water, I just drink and get it over with. The Dulcolax tabs work too, so I don't ever have problems, but the magnesium citrate 6 hours before the procedure, for me, is the worst. That 10 ounces of bitter saltwater taste takes forever to finish - I'm already clean and still have to drink it. I tried MoviPrep, and the pain, stomach cramps were awful. But with colon cancer years ago, I'm grateful each time the colonoscopy is fine, and a little night of MiraLAX is nothing."

For Bowel Preparation "I wonder if people recounting stories with vomiting and terrible cramping are also using the MiraLAX prep with Dulcolax, which can be known to cause these issues. I've been prescribed MiraLAX ONLY prep (no Dulcolax or other laxatives) now twice: once for a colonoscopy, once for abdominal surgery. Both times it is the easiest prep I have ever done, as someone who has had 3 colonoscopies prior and had to take other prep. I, like many of you, am in my 20s and still have an intense fear of vomiting. There is absolutely no nausea for me taking the MiraLAX-only prep. 14 caps in 64 oz, so a LOT of liquid, which helps as it draws water to the bowel and cleans you out. I was never advised to do split prep, so all in under two hrs. When mixed with Gatorade, pretty easy to get down, not the best tasting but a breeze in comparison to other colonoscopy preps I’ve had to do. No cramping or pain, the only discomfort I feel is the bloating and fullness from the amount of liquid consumed!"

For Constipation "My wife was into day 5 of postoperative constipation. We were starting to get concerned. We had followed dietary recommendations. On day 5, her surgeon directed her to use MiraLAX. I ran out and purchased it. No obvious effects on day 5 when she took it (but very little extra bloating, gas, or other side effects). Bingo, at 6 a.m. on the morning of day 6, things returned to normal-happy for her. Thus far, she has stayed regular with that single dosage on day 5. I don't think we could be any more satisfied with this product-especially for this specific condition."

For Bowel Preparation "I used this for my first colonoscopy prep this past week. I was so happy with the experience after hearing horror stories. I followed a low-residue diet for four days, then a clear liquid day. Mixing the Miralax in Gatorade was tasteless and very easy to drink. I was able to do a split prep, so even the volume I had to drink was tolerable. I had no cramping, no pain, no nausea. My doctor rated my prep as “excellent.” Would highly recommend this prep approach."
