"I have been on Livalo for approximately 5 years. For the past 2 years, I have been having confusion, trouble finding words, and severe neuropathy in my feet. My feet burn and ache so badly I can't sleep at night. I never once attributed it to this medicine, I just thought it was something I would have to live with, the joys of getting older (60). I finally mentioned it to my doctor, and she suggested I go off of the Livalo for two weeks and see how I feel. Today is Friday, and I quit taking it on Wednesday. My feet have gone from a pain level of 10 to about a 2. I can't believe how much better I feel. I took Lipitor before Livalo and experienced severe leg pain."

"I've been on this about a year, and it's worked fine with no side effects at all that I can see. I had Lipitor prior to this for about 3 months, which had all the usual side effects, and before that, Zetia, which nearly killed me after about 4 years on that (muscle weakness and degeneration was the worst side effect of Zetia). Livalo works with few side effects if you can afford it or if your insurance will cover it."

"I started Livalo in Feb 2022. Having bad muscle pain from previous stints taking statins, I was happy that the issue did not arise again… at first. It’s now mid-May 2022, and I’ve noticed really painful left heel pain and then started noticing right neck and shoulder pain and tingling in my right arm. I’ve decided to stop taking Livalo to see if the pain recedes, which I’m sure will be the case after stopping other statin meds. Good results, though, on the numbers-I just can’t tolerate the side effects."

"I've been on Livalo for 3 weeks now. I went to put makeup on, and I had to hold my hands to stop them from shaking. Also, I'm having a lot of anxiety and confusion. Out of pocket is 60.00 for 30 pills, waiting to see my doctor for updated labs. I'll see results in a couple more months."

"I had shoulder pain and lots of neck cramping. I take Livalo 2 mg at night and Losartan Potassium 25 mg in the morning. I'm not sure which medication is causing the pain issues, but I'm seriously considering stopping the Losartan first. I will know more once my six-month lab report is completed."

"Been on Livalo for two months now, and it did not change my cholesterol levels. Still at 285/212. No symptoms or side effects. Just does not work for me."

"I do not recommend this medication. It made me feel sick, congested, exhausted, and seriously depressed. I also suffered from leg cramps and a messed-up immune system. I would not take it again."

"Have been taking Livalo 2 mg for 6 years. My glucose has been creeping up to where now my A1c is 6.9. This is unacceptable! I noticed the longer on it, the increase in glucose."

"I am a 59-year-old male, in good health, and began a life change in July of '20. I ride 30-40 miles on my bike each week and am down over 50 pounds. I eat sensibly and feel better than I ever have! I’ve tried every form of statin for years with frustration. All caused me muscle discomfort until Livalo. My cardiologist prescribed 2 mg each night in August, a month after beginning my exercise program. He also sent me to my PCP for labs. The results of those labs were good, with the exception of HDL, which was slightly low (38 for a recommendation of 39 or greater). My total cholesterol was 145, which was not bad, but since the cardiologist was insisting, I began the medication. Since then, I have been able to come off 2 blood pressure medications and now only take Livalo. I received the results of a lipids test and will no longer be taking Livalo. Although my HDL did go from 38 to 63, my total cholesterol increased from 145 to 246. It appears Livalo is detrimental to my levels! I’m done!"
