Oxymorphone for Pain "When I first started taking this medicine, it was not working, and I was upset that I switched from the Roxicodone 30s. I changed back to my original script, but a new doctor convinced me to try the Opana once again. I took the doctor's advice, and this time it worked-actually quite well. I am virtually pain-free and able to play with my kids again."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I am permanently disabled due to brain surgery, leaving me with a condition called occipital neuralgia (headaches 24/7). Opana is a wonder drug for me. I tried every single other treatment I could find, from physical cures, psychological cures, to every other narcotic available. It is now time for me to get off of the drug because my body has finally become used to this pain enough where I hope that I do not need drugs for the rest of my life. Right now, I am taking Opana 40 mg ER X 4 = 160 mg ER and Opana 10 mg X 4 = 40 mg per day. My total Opana consumption daily is 200 mg. I just finally got up enough guts to ask my doctor to cut my dosage back, so I am going to try to cut the Opana 40 mg ER down to Opana 30 mg ER X 4 = 120 mg ER."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have tried many different medications and therapies for my lower back pain to no avail. I switched doctors, and he prescribed Opana 20 mg, 2x a day. It is by far the most effective pain medication I have tried, with the fewest side effects. Once you adjust to the sedation, all that remains is phenomenal pain relief."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have taken many things for my pain. I have had a level 3 spinal fusion and need more back surgery. My doctor gave me Opana and kept me on my oxycodone for breakthrough pain. What a huge relief, and not only that, but the Opana did not give me that high feeling, and I'm able to get around like a human again. I have to say the Opana gave me at least 8 hours of relief, and I was able to sleep and get up the next morning and move, whereas before I woke up so stiff, sore, and could hardly move."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Find the use of these to be easy to take and has been very helpful to me. I have had no side effects, other than the 12 hours ends a little bit less than this! Have found that taking them at 12-hour intervals has not been quite right. I see that sometimes I have a little less than 12-hour help, and other times have gone 14 to 15 hours and been fine. Depends on digestion maybe. Urinalysis showed the rate in my body to be less sometimes and not sure why? Do know that while I was sick with the flu, I wasn't able to keep down these and did have side effects of withdrawals."

For Pain "I was in an awful motorcycle wreck. Have had 17 operations and may need a new ankle. Have been given many pain meds over the years. Oxymorphone works better on my pain than any other pain med I have ever been prescribed. The new Opana that came out last year didn't work at all. My pain kept me from doing things like cleaning my house or playing with the grandkids, etc. I don't know what they did to the new Opana, but they do not help pain much at all. I am now taking a generic oxymorphone. I am starting to live my life a little more. I don't have as much pain, plus they cost me less, which is good."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have had two lower back surgeries (L4-L5) and (L5-S1), which has left me with severe pain in both feet and severe sciatica in the left leg radiating down to my left foot. I have tried OxyContin and oxycodone with limited success. Now I take Opana ER 20 mg twice daily with about level 1 to 2 pain instead of the constant level 4 to 5 pain, reaching level 7-8 when the dose wore off."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I was placed on this drug when it was first released. I suffer from acute, chronic lower back pain despite three back surgeries including fusion. I was on Vicodin, Dilaudid, methadone, Neurontin, Cymbalta, and Percocet. It was a whirlwind, often chasing my pain. Opana ER 40 mg every 8 hours came out, my pain level dropped considerably, no longer chasing my pain. No longer on Dilaudid, Vicodin, or Percocet. Opana was a godsend for me to manage my pain effectively. I used it for years successfully. The only side effect, at times it made me drowsy. Otherwise, it was great. It totally sucks that abuse/misuse caused people who needed it and used it properly to be sacrificed, penalized for these reasons. I didn't see Vicodin, Dilaudid, Demerol, or morphine discontinued. So now I'm in the same boat I was before just because some moron in the bureaucracy of Washington wanted to make noise and claim he was diminishing the opiate crisis by having this drug discontinued."

For Pain "Best painkiller available. Fewest side effects, subtle onset (no perceived 'rush'), least mental or physical impairment, easiest of any opioid/opiate for titration and reduction once painful condition improves. The newer 'crush-resistant' formula gives me a headache and stomach pain and is often passed completely intact in stool."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I suffer from chronic neck/upper back pain due to spinal stenosis, spinal spondylosis, cervical neuralgia, etc. I've had multiple anterior and posterior fusions (C5-C7) and revisions due to pseudoarthrosis (non-fusion). I've been on opioids for 7 years. Due to insurance coverage, my pain doc switched me from Kadian (10 mg 2x/day) to Opana ER (5 mg 2x/day), and I immediately experienced a HUGE increase in pain. I also take Percocet (10/325) for breakthrough pain. I experienced minor withdrawal symptoms, which I thought was odd since I was actually taking slightly more morphine daily. My pain doc explained it was due to how the body metabolizes Kadian. Opana did nothing for me."

For Pain "Oxymorphone works better than any other opioid medication if you are in legitimate pain. Sadly, in 2022, doctors will only prescribe 90 MME (morphine equivalent per DAY), which is only 30 mg or 15 mg x2 daily. The CDC is not a doctor, they are just another way to make common people suffer. Problem = People, Reaction = Population control, Solution = Don't give suffering people pain meds so they either die in horrifying agony or commit suicide."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Opana is a great pain killer, but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer, such as hydrocodone, in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to morphine sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine."

Oxymorphone for Pain "For years, I have had L1-L2 pain from a compression fracture and moderate disc degeneration. The pain relief from this is so much better than anything else I have taken, and I can go about my normal life without feeling drugged up like OxyContin or other narcotic pain killers. Not 100% relief yet, though. I've only had it for a few weeks, and my doctor and I are still working to find the right dosage. I'm on 15 mg every 8 hours at the moment and will probably move up to 20 mg soon. It's very promising, though."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Opana 20 mg doesn't take away all the neck and back pain but does about 90%, so I can function. However, also for the first time in my life, it gives me headaches, hot flashes, warm blooded 4-5 of 7 days a week, and slightly edgy/difficulty with stress/adversity sometimes too."

For Pain "I began taking pain meds on a 12 hr basis with prn oxycodone for breakthrough pain in 1996. We started with OxyContin ER, which has actually been the most effective, although very shortly we discovered I am a rapid metabolizer, and it had to be increased to every 8 hrs. Then that doc retired. The new one refused to give it to her pts, so I went through a different pain med about every 3 yrs... until I hit the jackpot with Opana! It took minor juggling the 1st 3 months, but for 5 yrs I have taken it or the generic and had no side effects and haven't needed a dose increase! As a retired RN, PhD, I will suggest you ask your doc to do genetic screening focusing on one's body's ability to take specific drugs successfully."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have been on pain medicines for over 10 years. I've tried it all. I was taking oxycodone 2 x 80 mg plus 2 x 40 mg plus 6 roxicodone 30 mg a day. My pain doctor switched me to 2 x 40 plus 2 x 20 Opana plus with the same roxicodone a day. This helped some. I had built up a tolerance to oxycodone. Last month she changed the roxicodone to 4 x 10 mg Opana for breakthrough pain. Now I have my life back. This is the first time in years I have been able to get up and get around. I have had a pain pump before and was going to get another one, but after this switch as of now I don't need it. If Opana is not working, you may need a higher dose if you are able to take it. Don't give up."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I recently started on Opana ER 20 mg, every 12 hours, with Opana 5 mg as needed (up to two) for breakthrough pain. Opana is amazing. I have very little breakthrough pain, and it's not bad at all. I have no side effects from the Opana and was taking a total of 60 mg of Norco (per 24 hours) prior to this. The best thing is no more horrible pain like when the Norco was wearing off. I feel human again and can shop and do things I did before I got hurt. I would like to note that I have read a lot of things on various websites that seem as though people are looking to get high from pain medicines as opposed to live pain-free from them. After I had my surgery a year ago, I had that horrible feeling of being 'stoned' from simple hydrocodone, and I hated it."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have been taking Opana 30 mg since last month, and it is a very effective drug. It has given me relief that lasts, usually 12 to 18 hours, which is something that my Vicodin 10 had stopped doing. Occasionally, I will take one, and for maybe an hour or two, I will feel relief, and then NOTHING. Usually, I will go back and take another one, and it will work. I read somewhere that sometimes they go directly through your system without working. What I really like about the medication is that I am mobile, upright, and able to go about my day without feeling drugged and cloudy. The only downside is the cost, 20 pills were $220.00, and 56 were almost $600. Currently, I have a $40 co-pay on insurance, but soon my insurance will be terminated."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have been on pain medicines since 1993 for back pain. I have been taking OxyContin 40 mg 3x per day. Last month, my pain management doctor said that he was no longer writing for OxyContin because of it showing up on the streets of our community. He said I had the choices of morphine, methadone, or Opana ER. I chose Opana, so now I am on 30 mg twice a day. The only benefit that I am experiencing is that it takes away the withdrawal symptoms, and they don't drop you like when an OxyContin wears off, but for me, the pain is still there."

For Pain "I had some injuries and pain to deal with, but after a bad car accident, my life changed. Pain never let me sleep, smile, or live a normal life, and in the past 5 years, I almost tried every kind of painkiller that didn't do much, but finally, my doctor recommended trying Opana. I have been on it for the past 7 months and never had to experience the pain since I started taking these 2 x 30 mg a day, and I can live a normal, pain-free life."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I took one dose of 20 mg of Opana ER. I became dizzy, woozy, lightheaded. I developed a pounding headache! I became extremely agitated and anxious. I became very shaky. My lower back pain increased, not decreased. Seven hours after taking this one dose, I had projectile vomiting."

For Pain "Was on morphine sulfate. Was switched to Opana 20 mg ER 2 every 8 hours. I am able to move around outside without fear of falling, have been able to go fishing again after 10 years of morphine, could not do so. On morphine, was not allowed to have a small garden, where Opana ER can manage and remember to water and pick the fruit and veggies grown. It is like night and day differences. As my condition has worsened, have been given 10 mg Opana IR as a breakthrough medicine. It is the biggest help so far in coping with the spinal cord injury. Have done surgeries and shots into the disc areas before the Opana, with very limited help, as the Opana has been the greatest thing."

For Pain "I have degenerative disc disease and have had 12 spine surgeries and countless injections, etc. I have pretty much been tried on everything on the market with no good results until... Opana ER. I have been on this for at least 8 years, and I have to say (the old formula) it's been the only thing that has brought any relief to me. Then they went and changed it to the new formula, and all of a sudden it was like taking plain aspirin."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Seems to be working okay. The buzz is calming after taking for 2 weeks. I'll not take the morning dose if I have to function during the day. Does help with chronic back/cervical/knee pain. Side effects are easier than morphine. That made me irritable and didn't touch the pain."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I was currently taking Exalgo 12 mg once daily and 2 mg Dilaudid twice daily. It started not to work, so my doctor put me on Opana 40 mg twice daily and kept my Dilaudid. So far, taking Opana is great, it lasts long enough to take my second dose, and I couldn't be happier."
