"I have been on nefazodone since 1997 after trying many other medications with terrible results. I have been told it is currently not being produced. Is this a temporary shortage? I do not believe I can exist without it!"

"I have been on this drug for 23 years. Had tried everything else, but my depression and anxiety were so terrible I ended up in the mental ward from trying to hurt myself. I have been to every drug store to get it, but now no one has it. Please bring it back or replace it with something Teva. There are many of us that need this!!!!"

"I was on this medication for approximately 25 years and was able to function normally without any complications. Prior to being on this medication, I was homebound for 6 years, suffering from agoraphobia. It was extremely rough suddenly having to stop this medication when it became unavailable during the pandemic. I pray that it never goes off the market again, as there are absolutely no other meds in this category that work the same."

"I’ve been on many different SSRIs and a few different antipsychotics. I’ve been on fluoxetine and alprazolam for the last decade or better, with good results in general. I have generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic attack syndrome, so I needed a reasonably potent benzo dose. I used to get panic attacks multiple times daily, which, through intensive psychotherapy (several hour sessions, 3 to 5 times a week with a personal phone number to my psychiatrist/psychotherapist) and medical management, I got through. I first tried nefazodone through finding an old sample of Serzone for my dad, which I tried with good results. I believe the dosage was 100 mg. I first got a prescription for nefazodone 100 mg bid in 2020, which was effective but only lasted a few months because of the shortage. In early 2022, I got a script for 150 mg bid and have been on it ever since, with good effect. Helped out my anxiety and apathy. Great medication."

"I have used nefazodone since 1997 for anxiety and depression. After trying many others, this is the only medication that made me a functional person! When it was unavailable the past 1 1/2 years, I was lucky to have had extras to get me through."

"I see that I am in the same boat as a lot of the other reviewers. I have been on it over 20 years with zero liver issues. It was the only drug that worked for me. My pharmacist got around to telling me yesterday that she thinks it is no longer in production. Too lazy to look into it 6 months ago when they could no longer get the 100 mg pills. I could have at least called other pharmacies to see if they had any on hand then. I am told that Trazodone is the next closest thing. I will update with the results here."

"Nefazodone was a miracle drug for my depression/anxiety. When TEVA stopped production, I switched to trazodone, which was not anywhere near as good. I contacted Teva today (4/4/22), and they have started production again !!!!! I immediately made an appointment with my MD to get an Rx for it again !!!!! Unfortunately, it doesn't come in the 200 mg pill strength, though, so I'll probably have to pay more."

"Took Nefazodone for 20 years for severe anxiety. High stress job. Best results with fewest side effects. Switched pharmacies in November because they were delayed in getting the prescription filled-thought it was the pharmacy’s fault. Only figured out by accident in December about the ingredient shortage when they kept pushing back refilling my prescription. Been a lousy few months."

"I don't understand what is going on. Is nefazodone coming back or is it being discontinued? Two pharmacies that had it took it off their shelves because they had notes in their computer that it was discontinued. I'm so annoyed about this. I'm calling Teva right now."

"I really want the company to start manufacturing this med! I have been on it 30 years and have no issues. I am struggling without it. I have called and reported to the FDA. Help is needed to express to Teva how this medication is necessary for many patients."

"I took nefazodone along with bupropion SR from 2000 until 2020. In December 2020, my pharmacy told me they would not be able to fill it anymore. I was given no warning from the pharmacy or my doctor this would happen. I had to taper off quickly. During 2021, I continued taking bupropion SR but had severe anxiety that worsened as the year progressed. I found out at the end of December 2021 that it would be available again. I was able to refill it with a local private pharmacy within days. I am now gradually tapering back up to my full dose. My doctor is monitoring my liver enzymes every few weeks just to be safe. Nefazodone is the only drug that works for my anxiety. I am unable to take SSRIs or any other psych meds besides nefazodone and bupropion SR. I have a prolactinoma, which causes lactation when I have tried any other psych meds. Please note: Nefazodone is available in the US again. Many large chain pharmacies have issues with their suppliers, but this should be temporary."

"I took my first dose of nefazodone this morning at about 10:30 for anxiety. I went about it being hopeful because I read all the positive things about this drug on this website, and I have to say it is not worth it. I got 60 pills yesterday and thought I would take as prescribed by my physician 100 mg twice a day. I would NEVER take this medication again. It is probably just me, but within an hour after taking it, I got weak in my legs and arms, my head started feeling weird, I felt anxious more than I did before I took this medication. It may just be me, but I won't take another dose of this. I take doxepin 25 mg twice a day, and I thought I would get something better that wasn't a weight gain medication, but I would rather carry the we"

"I see there are lots of reviews praising this drug - OK. I was given a prescription for Serzone years ago, and I was told it was okay to drink on it. One night, I had been drinking, also smoked a little weed, and was taking some OTC diet pills that contained guarana to perk me up. I ended up having a MAJOR meltdown, a huge panic attack. That was in '97, and I have not been right since with low-grade anxiety 24/7, with some anxiety attacks fairly often. Sure, it may have been the combo, but my PCP knew that I was drinking and smoking on this. His fault? MY fault? No matter... I have been permanently damaged, Serzone was part of that."
