For Alcohol Use Disorder "I've struggled with alcoholism for 10 years. Vivitrol was suggested before but I couldn't afford it. I was able to find a clinic that got a federal grant for Vivitrol. The first 4-5 days I was tired, leg cramps up through my buttocks (felt like the flu), hip and ankle pain, irritable, sad, nauseous. Side effects eventually went away after 1 week. Cravings have been minimal to non-existent. Yesterday I was irritable; had a bad day at work which triggered me. Decided what the hell and see if the drug really did take away that feel-good feeling. I drank about half the amount I usually do and it didn't do anything other than the physical side effects. I ended up pouring the rest out and went to bed. This is a miracle! I am so grateful! Looking forward to continuing using it for this year while I complete my 12 steps in the AA program so I will not only be physically healthy, but mentally and spiritually too! THANK YOU VIVITROL AND THANK YOU TO MY CLINIC AND GRANT MONEY!"

For Alcohol Use Disorder "Vivitrol injection on 9/19/2019. Can you drink? You can, but it doesn’t feel good. We know alcohol is a depressant. I always enjoyed the euphoria and was too drunk to recall the depression. Drinking now makes me feel heavy, dull, and a bit nauseated. I failed the oral dosage because an hour before drinking, I was salivating for the buzz! Now, I only have to be strong once a month while my resolve is strong. Now I can drink like a normal person if I want. I’ve been sleeping long hours of good sleep. I had been living on vodka, smoothies, vodka smoothies, and whatever junk was deliverable after I was intoxicated. I’m eating better now. I have an 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. Sucks, but I won’t have a towel nearby for 6 a.m. vomiting. I also won’t be up for a morning run, but I will awaken unafraid to check my texts."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've only gotten the shot twice, February and March 2020, and I'm not sure what to think. It's good, as a heroin addict, you know you can't get high, so don't even try, 'cause it will just annoy you. But the cravings are still the same as without it, and the migraines every day and nausea are terrible. My sex drive went from very healthy to not wanting to touch my husband of 11 years, and that's not like me at all! And let's talk about the depression - I've never been so depressed in my life, and I already have depression, but it got so bad I would just lay in bed and cry. I didn't realize it had anything to do with the shot until I read more about it and what people have said. I thought something was seriously wrong with me. It's getting better now due to me not having got my dose this month due to COVID-19 and my insurance... but I don't think I'm going to do it again..."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I recently went through a medical detox from heroin, and after 6 days, when my vitals showed I was opiate-free, I was administered the Vivitrol shot, which is pretty deep and painful in itself. I experienced terrible symptoms like upset stomach, diarrhea, severe restlessness, muscle cramps and twitches, nausea, chills, fever, enlarged pupils, lazy eye, extreme irritability, high anxiety, rapid heart rate, shakiness, and sleeplessness, plus the site where the shot was administered ached like an epidural. I ended up in the emergency room with an adverse reaction. I feel like death and can barely focus on my actual detox and life. Next month, when this shot is hopefully out of my system, I will not get it again! At least I'm off heroin!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "So was on the Vivitrol shot for 5 months, and while it did help with cravings, I had extreme nausea every time I woke up. I work swing shift, so I wake up at night sometimes and mornings sometimes, but no matter when I woke up, I felt sick and tried to fight throwing up. Loss of appetite caused me to lose 25 lbs over 5 months. It was hard, but I'm glad I did it and made it through. Been off of it for a month now and finally starting to feel normal again when I wake up. No more throwing up for me. Stay clean, my friends ✌"

For Opioid Use Disorder "This shot is saving my life. The first 5 days after injection were difficult due to side effects (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches), but they have since dissipated. I no longer feel any effects and have been clean from IV heroin for 29 days. I highly suggest this shot for anybody looking to stay off of opiates."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I got the shot after coming off subs, and within 3 hours, I was sick as a dog. I foolishly took a half of a sub, thinking it would stop the detox, only for it to make it worse. The doctor gave me some bullshit meds for being nauseous and said, 'Don't do that again.' I've been sick in bed for 4 whole days. I'm never doing this shot again. I begged them to reverse it, but they can't. Here's to an awful month."

For Alcohol Use Disorder "Had the shot yesterday, and 5 hours later, I was stumbling around with agitation. Felt super nauseous and picked a fight with family with rage for no reason. It works as far as cravings, but will probably look for another option ASAP."

For Alcohol Use Disorder "I have been on Vivitrol since November 2016. I have remained sober for 5 months. The urge to drink went away, and it felt good knowing that even if I drank on the shot, I wouldn't feel the warm fuzzy feeling that I was so addicted to. So recently, I did drink, and I feel so terrible - shakes, sick to my stomach. Alcohol withdrawal is terrible, and it really sucks. Now I know why I love feeling sober. Vivitrol has not only kept me sober, it truly saved my life because I know that I have control of my life. I would recommend this to anyone who has a problem with alcohol. It truly takes the cravings away and helps you find yourself."
