Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "The Nasonex spray dispenser says 65 sprays. I've been spraying only twice in each nostril per day and have had it for 2 weeks, and it ran out, so only 56 sprays. I have no issue with the medicine because it works, it's just the shortchanging of 9-10 sprays to save money on their end, but at a cost to the customer."

For Sinus Symptoms "This gave me such bad anxiety. To the point I was shaking with pressure in my eyes and head, and my arms went numb and achy. Almost called 999. Will be calling my doctor tomorrow to change the prescription. Awful."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I'm sorry that many of you had negative experiences with mometasone spray. I took it for my nasal allergies, which were causing problems breathing through my nose, and it cleared those up quickly. Also helped me gain weight when I was borderline underweight. Would highly recommend."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have used Nasonex allergy nasal spray (Mometasone) quite a few times for very brief periods. This product does work instantly for my allergic rhinitis, which can be a relief when you have a constantly running nose every day. Unfortunately, all the times I have used Nasonex, it has resulted in me experiencing instant and severe depression, which I normally suffer from, so I stop taking Nasonex and then I am happy (but with a runny nose). How come depression or sadness are never mentioned as possible side effects on any health sites? I thought it was only me until I read some reviews on this page."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I was prescribed this by my GP when diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, which I had been suffering from for a long time, and nothing I used was working. Once I started it, for the first few days I had a bit of blurred vision for an hour or so, but after that, no side effects, and my allergies started to be under control. I use this alongside antihistamines, and finally, my allergies are starting to be controlled, so I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling."

For Sinus Symptoms "Two daily sprays in each nostril for severe congestion (unable to breathe out of nose). Works great for this issue, it's amazing how good it feels to not breathe like a dog anymore, but does have side effects. The worst being heart palpitations and my tolerance for caffeine/stimulants. Before taking this drug, I was able to drink soda/fizzy drinks with no problem, but now must monitor these carefully. Drank too much before I knew and had extremely strong palpitations that lasted over 4 hours. If I feel them now, they will settle quickly if I start moving and burning some energy. Occasionally (once every 3 months roughly), I will go through a 3-4 day period of having sore sinuses, and bending down is uncomfortable thanks to the pressure, didn't ever have this before. Last noticeable side effect is the odd spell (two 2-day periods) of vertigo, which I have never experienced before until taking mometasone, which would make my head spin randomly while standing and even while laying down."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I was on Nasonex for 5 months, and it was very helpful in relieving my sinus issues and my ETD, which were caused by allergies. However, the side effects are hard to deal with, so eventually I decided to switch to using antihistamines rather than steroid sprays."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I had a cold with a stuffy nose, so I don't know why my doctor prescribed this for me. I wish I could give this product a zero. It did absolutely nothing for me except give me severe nosebleeds. I would love to contact the company to complain, but I can't find their contact information anywhere. Worst 50 bucks I ever spent."

For Sinus Symptoms "I tried this on and off for allergies in summer and sinus problems in winter. It kind of works in summer for allergies, but in winter where my nose is not running but swollen and blocking, probably cause of dry air, it makes everything worse. I feel more dry, more ear pain, more headache, and it makes my throat ache too. I also have a suspicion that it makes health conditions worse if there is a virus like the common cold involved, as every time I take mometasone I start to have yellow thick mucus in the morning. This is especially worrying with the corona pandemic at the moment, so I would be careful. The best in winter is saltwater spray and azelastine if the nose is itching, and I use Nasic when I have a cold. But many times I don't know if I have a cold, or an irritated nose from dry air, or an allergic reaction to dust. It is a nightmare since 20 years my nose gets worse blocking and drying, and headaches get worse. I feel like all these sprays can't be good for the nose, especially when they contain preservatives like mometasone does."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Seemed to help with the pain and aches from sinus and ears. But I developed a regular, very noisy wheeze inhaling (lower right lung area on deep breaths), which was audible to people sitting next to me over the couple of days taking the spray. Enough to concern me and research whether the spray had caused it. It can be a rare side effect. Going to GP to discuss."

Mometasone nasal for Nasal Polyps "I'm having implants removed next week. I have had morning headaches, a sinus infection, and for the past month, one of the most horrible smells in my sinuses. I have had an increase in brain fog. After reading the above comment, I was shocked to read another patient had this side effect. I was getting ready to have tests done for dementia. I will now wait a few months post-removal. I must say these sinus implants helped me at first, after years and years of treatment. By the second month, my body started reacting to them. Morning headache, bad taste all the time, bad smell all the time, brain fog - loss of words, sinus infection treated for 14 days. I will not participate again in sinus implants."

For Sinus Symptoms "Prescribed this for a month, two sprays in each nostril once a day. I could not sleep at night after two weeks, even though I was very tired. Towards the end, I was getting to sleep around 3:30 a.m. I stopped taking it after 3 weeks and instantly slept fine again. It did stop my itchy ears, but not the earache."

For Sinus Symptoms "Worked well to suppress excess mucus symptoms. The doctor prescribed it for two weeks. I stopped after 4 days thanks to these reviews and other information I had a chance to check into. I was happy with suppressed symptoms but decided to shorten the duration to avoid negative side effects."

For Sinus Symptoms "I used this product as I've been having intense nose pain, and the spray has done absolutely nothing. Thankfully, I haven't had any side effects, but I still have unbearable nose pain. I found the spray ineffective and a waste of time."

For Sinus Symptoms "I've had sinusitis for at least 10 years now. Had turbinate reduction in both nostrils as they were nearly always blocked, especially while sleeping. It helped 25% in one and perhaps 50% in the other. After complaining again to ENT, he put me on the spray. It helped, but I noticed I was getting headaches if I took too much. Also, I have had 3 ear infections in one ear at least once a year where I need drops to clear. Recently, I went on a road trip out of province and forgot my spray. Didn't bother to get any, so I went without. Noticed my nose got clogged again, but no headaches for 3 weeks. When I came back, I loaded up on my spray and got an instant migraine that lasted the day. I will try to wean myself off this stuff and perhaps use a saline spray. I'm 67, male."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Tried this medication for my post-nasal drip, however, even though it relieved my symptoms of post-nasal drip, it gave me a really bad cold, chills, headache, and caused me to feel lethargic. I will not use this product again and will try to find another product that will treat my post-nasal drip without any of these side effects."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "It is a nightmare! Our pedia prescribed Nasonex for my 1-year and 10-month-old baby because he is having difficulty breathing at night. When he started using Nasonex, everything went wrong. My baby's nose has a very loud sound when he is inhaling and difficulty breathing, which is getting much worse. I am worried it could be life-threatening because he cannot breathe. We don't have normal sleep anymore. When I stopped giving Nasonex, the bad side effects lessened, although he still has trouble breathing. I pray to God that everything will get normal soon."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Nasonex was prescribed because I can't breathe easily through my nose. It is hard to sleep at night, and breathing through my mouth is very troublesome. I would wake several times at night with a dry mouth, throat, and in the morning, have a raspy voice. The doctor thought I might have allergies and thought the Nasonex might open up nasal passages."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "The product works well. The problem is the packaging. Why don't manufacturers stop using so much unnecessary packaging for their products when disposal is such a growing problem? Nasonex Allergy comes in a lovely plastic container that does not require a huge cardboard box, more than twice the size of the container. There is now a large space just for directions. It's about time these manufacturers started getting a little innovative with their packaging and reduced the need for unwanted excessive packaging that continues to produce problems for landfill."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "First of all, it didn't really help me, I still suffered as much after I used it a few times for a sinusitis that was about to start. Second, it caused a huge cold sore to burst on my lip. I only had a cold sore once before (the first time I was infected), so I don't have much doubt that Nasonex is what caused it."

For Sinus Symptoms "I was prescribed mometasone for chronic sinusitis. I used it on and off for a few months but felt it was making my headaches worse and causing anxiety. Didn’t seem to ease the original problem. Original sinus headaches were less severe than headaches after taking medication. Encouraged to continue by GP and that my headaches would improve. Instead, the anxiety increased with heart palpitations. Burning feeling in throat and tightness. The worst side effect has been recent insomnia. Awake almost all night. Mind anxious. Feeling the need to wee throughout the night. After several nights of this, I have stopped taking it. Will not take it again. Thanks to others for sharing their experience as I thought I was becoming mentally unwell. Why aren’t GPs aware of this?"
