Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "This was the worst experience of side effects with this nasal spray! It exacerbated my anxiety, and gave me heart palpitations, not to mention pressure behind my eyes. OMG, it was so bad. I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know this till I Googled! So many have complained of the same things! Heart palpitations and eye pain were the worst! I will stick to my saline nasal spray! This stuff is really nasty!"

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "The Nasonex caused crazy anxiety, super dizzy and weird visual things like afterimages from lights that would last 5 minutes. Waking up in the middle of the night totally dizzy and spinning. It might work well, I'm not sure because I had to stop using it. The visual stuff freaked me out too much."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I suffer year-round severe allergies with a runny, sneezy nose, blocked sinuses, and itchy, red, watery eyes. This product works... BUT for me, it isn't worth the side effects - chronic diarrhea, blurred vision, total loss of taste and smell, lethargy, anxiety, headaches, and abdominal cramps. I was taking it last year and had these symptoms, then stopped and they went away, but I didn't connect the two until THIS time when I went on it again. I've been on it for about 3 months, and back came the symptoms. So I did an online search and found so many others with the same experience using Nasonex. This week, I stopped again and will never use it again. This product can also cause Glaucoma and cataracts - how can people be ready to risk the serious side effects of this just for hay fever? I'd rather sneeze my way through life than be blind... and now I know why my vision has been blurry :("

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "I began using this after suffering from nasal congestion, headaches, and sinus pains. After I began taking it, I suffered from terrible pain behind my eyes, nausea, and anxiety. I went to so many doctors, but nobody was able to pinpoint what it was. I was having around 20 migraine/headache days per month. Painkillers were not helping, and I was constantly put on higher and higher doses, which all eventually stopped helping. My nasal congestion also didn't really clear up, but for some reason, I still persisted. I didn't think it was the spray, as I used other steroid sprays in the past, so didn't dream it was the Nasonex. At one point, it dawned on me that it might just be the Nasonex. I stopped using it and have not had another headache since. I feel better in myself and not so anxious anymore. I suffered terribly for 4 months."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Horrible drug. Started using it, and within 24 hours, I'd started getting severe anxiety and severe depression. Came off of it, tried again at a lower dose, same thing to a slightly lesser degree. Also gave me headaches and a tight feeling in my throat. Can't take any lower a dose really, or it won't be effective. Never using this stuff again."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Prescribed for mold allergy. Totally made everything worse. Made me more congested with shortness of breath and heart-pounding palpitations. Felt extremely anxious even though I knew I was not anxious. Could not sleep. Two doctors did not believe me. Came off the stuff and immediately felt better. Two days later, much, much better."

For Sinus Symptoms "I have chronic sinusitis (symptoms were eye pain, headache, stuffed nose or runny nose, pressure around the eyes and cheeks) and was prescribed this drug. It helped my symptoms for the first 3 days, for the first time in years, I had no sinus symptoms, I couldn't believe it. And then on day 4, I took my dose before bed, and it gave me crazy bad anxiety! Racing heart! Sweats, couldn't stay still, my vision went fuzzy, I almost called the hospital. Literally thought I was going to die. I was up until 7 am, I couldn't fall asleep. When I woke up, I was still having bad anxiety. Anxiety lasted about 2 days. Good thing I read these reviews, now I know I'm not the only one."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "Gave me horrible migraines, insomnia, anxiety; and all for nothing, my sinuses are exactly the same. Avoid. I don't know why doctors prescribe this. This should be taken off the market. I suffered miserably for months. Sudafed is as bad as well. Avoid Sudafed at all costs."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I kid you not. Reading these reviews has made me realize I wasn’t going crazy, and it will take a serious amount of sleep to catch up! 6 months pregnant. Rhinitis. Get it every time. I use xylometazoline, but it’s not good long term, so I'm trying to limit my use. The doctor said to try Nasonex, so prescribed me this so I could wean off the xylometazoline. Within 3 hours of taking it, I did initially feel better, although my nose wasn’t completely unblocked. Until I went to bed. As I am writing this, it is 4:45 am, I haven’t been to sleep. I’ve had night sweats, heart palpitations, anxiety, and a crying session. I didn’t know what was wrong with me until I read the reviews after I thought it could well be. I am shocked I am not alone! I cannot fathom how any doctor can prescribe something so toxic, especially to a pregnant woman."

For Sinus Symptoms "Thank the Lord I found this thread and saw that I’m not the only one who had a bad reaction. I binned this after one use because I have had a pounding headache all day, as well as dizziness, literally walking into things, and have also just had diarrhea. My nose breathing feels sore, like after a heavy head cold, and my throat feels dry and tight. I’ve even felt very low and anxious after feeling great this morning before using it. I will stick to salt water sprays rather than risk this again."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "I have a severe s-shaped septum and chronic sinus issues. I found that this drug worked, I started to get my sense of smell back, pressure started to subside, but it caused horrible side effects. I felt tight, like I couldn't breathe properly, very anxious all the time, aching muscles, weakness. I also developed strange, unexpected pains in my chest."

For Sinus Symptoms "I started with Nasonex mometasone on 7th November, which had been prescribed by an ENT doctor. I had been prescribed this before by my doctor but didn’t use it as I read the side effects were horrendous. I had to use 2 sprays daily. I do wish I had listened to my gut, about a week after using the spray, I started with joint pain, but I just put it down to age and cold weather, not connecting it to Nasonex. Then my eyes started to water and felt heavy. Yesterday, I started to feel anxious, which was not me at all. I then realized it was the Nasonex. I rang my doctors and told them I would be stopping the spray, giving them the reasons. Fortunately, I have an appointment for a CT scan this week and will inform the clinic of my decision. I will never use this again, and I agree with the lady who said it should be taken off the market. I am hoping that these horrible symptoms disappear."

For Sinus Symptoms "I started off with blurred vision. I thought it was my contact lenses, so I made an appointment at my optician's for another check-up, which I not long had. My nose felt like it was being wedged open, and like a hangover feeling in my head. The last straw was not an hour after I used it. I went upstairs, I felt light-headed over one eye. I sat on the bed and flopped back. I was so dizzy this frightened me, so I told my GP, who said don't take it again. I am just waiting for it to leave my system. It's left me nervous and feeling a bit down. I have only used it for a week. Never again."

For Sinus Symptoms "Went through COVID, loss of sense of smell and taste, as well as an additional acute sinusitis infection. The smell and taste came back much later but were not stable, reduced to a very faint smell the next day or to nothing, a rollercoaster. The infection further reduced the smell. I was prescribed mometasone furoate nasal spray, and for the first day or two, it relieved the pressure, but there were also other side effects. I faced the below symptoms: anxiety, depression, heart palpitations, affected sleep, was not able to sleep at all, blurry vision, oral thrush, tight throat like you can't breathe. I've been asked by my doctor to use it every day (2 sprays in each nostril), but for today, I'm going to stop and see what happens. I feel less on edge not using it. I advise everyone to be careful in using this medication."

For Sinus Symptoms "Was prescribed after having ear problems and was told to take this as my nurse practitioner saw fluid in a tube behind my eardrum, and boy... I've never had these side effects before... and it's a nasal spray!! Have been taking it for over 2 weeks and my 'full head' feeling has improved, so it seems, and not as unsteady/dizzy as before but the last 2-3 days my anxiety has been horrible!! I used to take meds for it and have been fine without for a while, but all of a sudden, I get these horrible anxious feelings, on edge, even had the heart palpitations but thought it was muscle spasms, but I wonder... The anxiety with this med was worse than I ever had it prior to anxiety meds!! I've also had headaches but was told of this side effect, but the anxiety and not being able to 'feel like you can do anything as you can't take more stress' isn't worth all these extra things! I also had the eye pressure/spasms! Thank you for this site & people posting! It's not just me and I don't feel alone!!"

For Sinus Symptoms "My doctor prescribed this product to help post-nasal drip, which was affecting my ears. After the first couple of days of using this product, I felt dizziness, really bad anxiety, and flu-like symptoms. I was so tired I could barely climb up the stairs. I also felt like it brought on symptoms similar to a bladder infection. I saw a doctor to test for a bladder infection, and she said it’s a possible side effect of this medication. I’ve been off this product for a week now, and the anxiety, racing heart, and dizziness are better but still lingering."

Mometasone nasal for Nasal Polyps "Sinuva is basically a Mometasone drip. If you’re sensitive to this steroid, run away! Vivid dreams, anxiety, and depression tsunami! I have to wait 76 more days for the steroid implants to dissolve... torture! 24-hour anxiety brain fog! How I wish I knew more about this product before I let my ENT implant them in my sinuses. Mometasone is a beast of a drug!"

For Sinus Symptoms "I was prescribed mometasone for chronic sinusitis. I used it on and off for a few months but felt it was making my headaches worse and causing anxiety. Didn’t seem to ease the original problem. Original sinus headaches were less severe than headaches after taking medication. Encouraged to continue by GP and that my headaches would improve. Instead, the anxiety increased with heart palpitations. Burning feeling in throat and tightness. The worst side effect has been recent insomnia. Awake almost all night. Mind anxious. Feeling the need to wee throughout the night. After several nights of this, I have stopped taking it. Will not take it again. Thanks to others for sharing their experience as I thought I was becoming mentally unwell. Why aren’t GPs aware of this?"
