For Sinus Symptoms "Was prescribed this to treat suspected chronic sinusitis. Well, 2-3 days after starting the spray, my symptoms turned from what looked like allergy (post-nasal drip, clear nasal discharge, sneezing) to a full-on infection, complete with facial pain, very thick yellow/green mucus, severe congestion, headaches, no sleep, mouth breathing at night, virtually no sleep. I went from a functioning person to someone who couldn’t even get the kids off to school in the mornings. Got put on a round of antibiotics, which did nothing, currently waiting on X-ray results to find out what on earth is going on. Be warned, the information sheet early states that this medication can exacerbate an existing viral or bacterial infection, and I’m pretty sure that is what happened here."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I've been using it for a while, and it didn't work well for me. I changed to another spray, and it got much better. I also had the problem where the mist did not actually reach where it was supposed to go, but rather just drooled out."

For Sinus Symptoms "Thank the Lord I found this thread and saw that I’m not the only one who had a bad reaction. I binned this after one use because I have had a pounding headache all day, as well as dizziness, literally walking into things, and have also just had diarrhea. My nose breathing feels sore, like after a heavy head cold, and my throat feels dry and tight. I’ve even felt very low and anxious after feeling great this morning before using it. I will stick to salt water sprays rather than risk this again."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "I have a severe s-shaped septum and chronic sinus issues. I found that this drug worked, I started to get my sense of smell back, pressure started to subside, but it caused horrible side effects. I felt tight, like I couldn't breathe properly, very anxious all the time, aching muscles, weakness. I also developed strange, unexpected pains in my chest."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have been using mometasone furoate 50g nasal spray for the last 4 months, and it's a miracle for my rhinitis allergy. I got a runny nose, sneezing, and headache all year round for the last 15 years, and I've been using a lot of medicines like Rigix, Loratadine, Avamys spray, but nothing worked. I started researching about this allergy, found out about this spray, and talked to my doctor about it. This is the only spray that has worked, I feel so relieved and have no symptoms so far."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I've been using Nasonex off and on for quite a few years, especially in the wintertime, as I have a constant runny nose and frequent sinus infections. I recently realized that I have frequent headaches and migraines, mostly in the wintertime also. This medication was a godsend for me in the beginning, but it's not anymore. After long-term use, it seems like my sinuses are burning all the time, and my nose is still running whether I use it or not. I often have heart palpitations and have even had heart tests for that. I have decided to go off this medication for a long period of time to see if any of the symptoms I've described are caused by Nasonex."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "I use Nasonex for sinus/nasal swelling that causes headaches or fluid buildup in my ears. It had always been more effective than antihistamines or anti-inflammatory meds. I have issues with dry mouth, and I think Nasonex aggravates it, but I had to quit Nasonex completely once I got dental implants. I got four dental implants, and Nasonex causes the gum tissue around them to become so sensitive that I get queasy when my cheek rubs against my gums. It takes a long time to get better, and my allergist and dentist are perplexed. There is no redness or sores, in fact, the gums look 100% normal, but the sensitivity is extremely uncomfortable and can last for weeks. It is awful that I have to choose which issue I have to live with. One doctor did say they saw a very, very faint white lace pattern on the gums where it hurt, but everyone else said they saw no sign of something being physically wrong."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Had been suffering from allergic rhinitis for years. I suffer from perennial rhinitis, always having a blocked nose, itchy eyes, and nose. And sometimes a runny nose too. This nasal spray has helped a lot, at least in opening one nostril, and I advise everyone to try nasal irrigation. Take care."

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Absolutely a wonder drug. For me, this changed my life after years of miserable, miserable allergy seasons. I have almost ZERO allergy symptoms in the spring while taking this for the last 3 years. Unclear if there are side effects, will pay more attention when I stop this year. Anyway, they are minor enough to justify this drug that totally changed my spring from hell to something quite better."

For Sinus Symptoms "I started with Nasonex mometasone on 7th November, which had been prescribed by an ENT doctor. I had been prescribed this before by my doctor but didn’t use it as I read the side effects were horrendous. I had to use 2 sprays daily. I do wish I had listened to my gut, about a week after using the spray, I started with joint pain, but I just put it down to age and cold weather, not connecting it to Nasonex. Then my eyes started to water and felt heavy. Yesterday, I started to feel anxious, which was not me at all. I then realized it was the Nasonex. I rang my doctors and told them I would be stopping the spray, giving them the reasons. Fortunately, I have an appointment for a CT scan this week and will inform the clinic of my decision. I will never use this again, and I agree with the lady who said it should be taken off the market. I am hoping that these horrible symptoms disappear."

Mometasone nasal for Nasal Polyps "Pump action spray is terrible. I prime it, have a couple of sprays, and then it comes out in drips. So I repeat the priming again until I get a spray. Meanwhile, I’m pumping half of my medication into the air. I use this product on and off for years as needed. It is excellent, but please fix the bottle. Other products I use, such as Fess spray, work excellently, so why not yours? For the price, I don’t want to waste it."

For Sinus Symptoms "I started off with blurred vision. I thought it was my contact lenses, so I made an appointment at my optician's for another check-up, which I not long had. My nose felt like it was being wedged open, and like a hangover feeling in my head. The last straw was not an hour after I used it. I went upstairs, I felt light-headed over one eye. I sat on the bed and flopped back. I was so dizzy this frightened me, so I told my GP, who said don't take it again. I am just waiting for it to leave my system. It's left me nervous and feeling a bit down. I have only used it for a week. Never again."

For Sinus Symptoms "Went through COVID, loss of sense of smell and taste, as well as an additional acute sinusitis infection. The smell and taste came back much later but were not stable, reduced to a very faint smell the next day or to nothing, a rollercoaster. The infection further reduced the smell. I was prescribed mometasone furoate nasal spray, and for the first day or two, it relieved the pressure, but there were also other side effects. I faced the below symptoms: anxiety, depression, heart palpitations, affected sleep, was not able to sleep at all, blurry vision, oral thrush, tight throat like you can't breathe. I've been asked by my doctor to use it every day (2 sprays in each nostril), but for today, I'm going to stop and see what happens. I feel less on edge not using it. I advise everyone to be careful in using this medication."

For Sinus Symptoms "I have used mometasone for almost 10 years for nasal polyps, chronic sinus infections, and seasonal allergies. The only treatment that has worked consistently. Possible long-term use side effects that I have experienced are cataracts, double vision, and suppressed white blood cell and platelet counts. Small price to pay for being able to breathe!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "Took 1 dose in the evening to alleviate allergy symptoms. The next morning, my throat was hurting more, and my nose was plugged. Throughout the day, my body started hurting, and I could feel my throat starting to close up. My tongue and uvula were swollen, my body was in immense pain, my hands were very red, and I was extremely lightheaded. I waited for an hour at the doctor's before almost going into anaphylactic shock. I got an injection, went home, and proceeded to take another dose of the nasal spray. That’s when it struck me that it’s the nasal spray that gave me this reaction. Immediately, the body pains and lightheadedness were back, this time accompanied by a very intense headache, fever, and chills. I took some antihistamines and went to bed, this feeling didn’t go away until I went back to the doctor the next day for another allergy shot. I’m now on a hefty dose of antihistamines, and I noticed the lining of my nose is swollen and slightly yellow. I hope I recover from this soon."

For Sinus Symptoms "Was prescribed after having ear problems and was told to take this as my nurse practitioner saw fluid in a tube behind my eardrum, and boy... I've never had these side effects before... and it's a nasal spray!! Have been taking it for over 2 weeks and my 'full head' feeling has improved, so it seems, and not as unsteady/dizzy as before but the last 2-3 days my anxiety has been horrible!! I used to take meds for it and have been fine without for a while, but all of a sudden, I get these horrible anxious feelings, on edge, even had the heart palpitations but thought it was muscle spasms, but I wonder... The anxiety with this med was worse than I ever had it prior to anxiety meds!! I've also had headaches but was told of this side effect, but the anxiety and not being able to 'feel like you can do anything as you can't take more stress' isn't worth all these extra things! I also had the eye pressure/spasms! Thank you for this site & people posting! It's not just me and I don't feel alone!!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I was using the nasal spray (aqueous) for my rhinitis, but it never really went away, and I had one blocked nostril for about a year. The doctor prescribed mometasone furoate. I used it once (two sprays), my symptoms have gone! Completely gone!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "Using mometasone nasal spray, and now both sides of my nose feel closed up, so I can't get air in unless I pull it open. Wasn't like this before. Also stings nose and throat. Not going to continue using."

For Nasal Polyps "This nasal spray seems to have worked well over a number of years, and I am not aware of any side or adverse effects. My complaint is aimed at the cheap and nasty plastic dispenser that easily malfunctions and rarely lasts anywhere near the claimed capacity of 140 doses before it ceases to function at all. Seeing as it's only available on prescription, I'm faced with requesting a repeat prescription long before the actual product has been used. Maybe that suits the manufacturer because this dispenser certainly doesn't suit this consumer."

Mometasone nasal for Sinus Symptoms "I have been using Nasonex for years with no problems or side effects. I suffer from bad allergies and sinus infections, and with the help of Sudafed or Sinutab and Nasonex, along with some Allegra, I am good to go. Whenever I feel any discomfort during allergy season, these products help, and I don't see any side effects."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Had family history of constant issues with hypersensitivity of nose that stretches over three generations. This hero - mometasone nasal spray - is the only fix that is available, and I give it a nice 9.9 (I took off 0.1 due to the dodgy bottle)."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Have been suffering from chronic runny nose, having to let it drain into a bucket for 3-4 hours every morning for the last 8 months. Ironically, a side effect of my immunotherapy for cancer. I tried every antihistamine and nasal spray, all to no avail. I was prescribed this 2 days ago - 2 x 2 sprays each day. I know it is still early, but, WOW, it is working amazingly and it's extremely high pollen season at present. Hope it continues!"

For Sinus Symptoms "My doctor prescribed this product to help post-nasal drip, which was affecting my ears. After the first couple of days of using this product, I felt dizziness, really bad anxiety, and flu-like symptoms. I was so tired I could barely climb up the stairs. I also felt like it brought on symptoms similar to a bladder infection. I saw a doctor to test for a bladder infection, and she said it’s a possible side effect of this medication. I’ve been off this product for a week now, and the anxiety, racing heart, and dizziness are better but still lingering."

Mometasone nasal for Nasal Polyps "Sinuva is basically a Mometasone drip. If you’re sensitive to this steroid, run away! Vivid dreams, anxiety, and depression tsunami! I have to wait 76 more days for the steroid implants to dissolve... torture! 24-hour anxiety brain fog! How I wish I knew more about this product before I let my ENT implant them in my sinuses. Mometasone is a beast of a drug!"

Mometasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Nasonex changed my life! I have severe hay fever symptoms, but using Nasonex every night before going to sleep relieved all symptoms. I have been using it for 8 years, and I can genuinely say that it changed my life."
