For Nausea/Vomiting "Just like many others have said, I was given this in the ER for nausea and vomiting. TERRIBLE!!!! Do NOT let a doctor give you this medicine!!!! It makes you feel mentally insane and violently ill! Your entire body shakes, intense muscle cramping and contortions, nerve pain, panic attacks, have the urge to rip out the IV and escape the hospital bed, dizzy, confusion, uncontrollable body movements. Like many others have said as well, this medication can truly be PTSD inducing, especially if you have a history of anxiety/depression. I thought I was insane until I saw the amount of people with the same bizarre side effects. And it didn't even touch my nausea or vomiting issue in the slightest! Can't believe this medication is even used still in ER or hospital settings. Stick to safe nausea medications like Zofran (ondansetron). The only one I trust, even if it doesn't always work. At least it won't drive you to insanity."

"DO NOT take this medicine. May be the worst drag I ever taken. I have a lot of side effects, like depression, and my face numb, my neck stiff like stone, my body shake for 9 days now, and I only took it for 3 days at a dose of 3 times a day."

For Migraine "6/10/19 I received the migraine cocktail for the first time. The doctor was very careful to push the Reglan slowly into the IV. At first, I felt fine, but once she left the room, I got hot, sweaty, and anxious. I had full-body tremors, sweat through my clothes, and felt like I needed to rip the IV out and run. My severe migraine is gone, but I would recommend not trying this medication if you already have anxiety or if you’re sensitive to medications."

For Migraine "Doctor prescribed this for migraines. Immediately after taking the first pill within an hour, I jumped out of bed and was restless, shakes, had severe anxiety, trembles, and felt like I was going to die. This lasted days - I told my next doctor this, and she then told me that some people do have this reaction. I will NEVER take this again and do not recommend it."

For Migraine "My son has hemiplegic migraines. We just had our 3rd ER visit. First time getting Reglan in the cocktail. He began shaking uncontrollably with chills and had almost muscle spasm jerks. We had no warning of possible side effects, so obviously he was scared, increasing the side effects. The nurse said it is a mild, common, allergic reaction to the drug. He was treated with an additional IV dose of Benadryl and began to settle fairly quickly. Know that this reaction is a side effect."

For Migraine "Yesterday, I went to the emergency room with severe vertigo that I had for three days prior, and a migraine had started two days after the vertigo. It was painful, it was the first time I ever went to an emergency room for a headache. They were very worried I could not walk due to the severe vertigo, so they decided to give me meclizine and Reglan in an IV drip and something for nausea. Within 10 minutes of the IV, I began shaking uncontrollably all over, and my muscles were twitching. My stomach was burning horribly, and I literally felt a panic so severe I thought I was dying. Finally, it became so bad the doctor gave me a Valium, and within 10 minutes, I felt back to normal. Reglan was the problem, and I NEVER want that feeling again!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "PLEASE do not take this medication!! If you go into the ER for nausea and vomiting and they tell you they're going to administer this medication into your IV, tell them absolutely not! I suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum for the first 3 months of my pregnancy that landed me in the ER five times, and I had to be put on IV fluids. The first couple of times they gave me Zofran, which worked the first and second time, and then it just started making my nausea and vomiting worse. The next couple of times I came into the ER and I told them the Zofran was making me feel worse, they decided to give me Reglan, and oh my god, I had never felt this way from a medication before. After ten minutes of them giving it to me, I started shaking and feeling the worst anxiety I've ever felt, and I have an anxiety disorder. I wanted to rip my IV out of my arm and run out of the hospital. I remember I started looking at my IV and trying to figure out a way I could remove it myself without injuring myself."

For Migraine "I was inpatient in the hospital for a 5-day migraine. I was given Reglan and Benadryl through IV several times over a 4-day hospital stay, and it helped the migraines in minutes. I want you to understand how miserable I was. I had to have the curtains always drawn, couldn't watch TV or listen to music, and the room always felt like it was spinning. I noticed that when they administered the Benadryl, it burned when given through IV. I had competent nurses who administered it slowly to prevent intense burning. I also noticed after both were administered, I felt like I needed to move around, so my fingers and legs twitched a little, but not too much. It helped more than anything, and I'm really happy it was there as an option."

For Migraine "I was given part of my migraine cocktail in the ER via IV. They said it would make me anxious, but the IV Benadryl would help counteract it. LET ME TELL YOU, IT DID NOT!! I am an RN and have given this med IV push, I had no idea it could make you feel like this!! I wanted to crawl out of my skin, I could not breathe. Anxiety is an understatement. I even had residual anxiety days later and still feel anxious thinking about it now. I had shakes so bad."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Awful, I took metoclopramide for a migraine headache causing me to be extremely nauseous. I was on it for 2 days. I had hallucinations, tremors, the shakes, blurred vision, was seeing things, was unable to finish my sentences, and couldn't make words with speech, mania, swelling, numbness, hands are still too shaky to text and have any strength. This medication should be discontinued, it's that bad."

For Migraine "Like everyone else mentions, DO NOT accept for migraine treatment! They will tell you they're giving you a migraine cocktail (Benadryl, Reglan, Toradol). I have anxiety and am prone to anxiety/panic attacks, it induced the worst anxiety attack I have ever had. Sharing this because I started shaking uncontrollably. I almost pulled the needle out of my arm. I couldn't walk when they asked me to get up for my brain scan. When I told the staff I was starting to feel anxious, they said, 'Yeah, you'll feel funny,' which is quite the understatement. I wanted to scream. I couldn't hold my arms out in front of me for the neuro exam (I had been having migraines for a week straight, so I expressed my neuro concerns). Thankfully, I survived, but I am genuinely traumatized."

For Migraine "The urgent care center gave me a shot of Reglan and Toradol in my backside and Benadryl. The meds burned going in, but within 20 minutes, my migraine had subsided. Went home, slept. Next morning, woke up, got ready, feeling groggy, my chest was tight. I went to work and felt jittery, nauseous, dizzy, then later I got very hot, cold, and sweaty. Then I turned white as a sheet and got full body tremors. I had to be picked up from work and brought back to urgent care. Got to urgent care and they gave me Ativan and said I had an anxiety attack. The only thing that was different in my body/life was the fact that my migraine was now gone and was treated with those drugs. I'm not totally discounting the fact that I had an anxiety attack. In fact, it makes total sense the way I was feeling, but I definitely believe this drug triggered something unholy and terrifying to happen in my body. It did get rid of my migraine (which was the reason I needed it), I am grateful for that, but I was not aware of any adverse effects."

For Migraine "PLEASE do NOT take Reglan. I am posting this experience from over 4 years ago from my reaction to Reglan. That’s how impactful my reaction was to me. I suffer from migraines, and I go to the ER whenever it’s really bad. I happened to go to a new hospital one night because I was out of town when a migraine hit me. They gave me some sort of migraine cocktail but with Reglan (which I’ve never had before). As soon as it was pushed through the IV, I IMMEDIATELY started coughing uncontrollably, felt a cold rush going down my throat, and extreme weight on my chest. I then began to hallucinate while looking around the room, I felt like I was going insane. When I looked at the door in front of me, all I could see were swirls just everywhere, I can’t even explain what I was seeing. My whole body started to shake uncontrollably, only letting up for a few seconds before starting again. I then had extreme memory loss when asked simple questions from the techs!! I am scarred for life."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was in the ER for hyperemesis gravidarum. I could not hold anything down. I was admitted into the hospital and was given 5 mg of Reglan every 6 hours through IV. It definitely helped with my nausea. However, it made me extremely restless and I could not sleep for 3 days while in the hospital, and I take Seroquel 200 mg also. I do think it was a combination of not being comfortable in the hospital and the Reglan because I slept at home once I’m out with the pill form. But, I’ve been spacing the Seroquel and Reglan hours apart and not at the same time because I do think it definitely contributes to the Seroquel not being as effective since Reglan is made to empty your stomach and to process things better. Taking them at the same time was not as effective for sleep. I have a history of mental illness but take medication that helps, so I think I didn’t have many mental side effects because of that. Reglan is known to cause tremors, shakes, etc. Especially with other certain meds."

For Migraine "I ended up going to the ER because of a several-day migraine and was given this plus Benadryl and a steroid. I've been to the ER once before for a week-long migraine, and the nurse asked what I was given. I told them the last time I was given something that made me shiver and shake uncontrollably for 20-30 minutes. He said that's the Reglan, but at this particular hospital, they like to put it through the IV as a drip slowly; not fast, as pushing it through a syringe into the patient's system can cause the reaction I had before. I did not shake or shiver like before; with the cocktail of meds, I became very sleepy and my muscles felt loose and dozed for a little while. Much better reaction than before!!!"

For Migraine "I had the most horrendous experience with Reglan for migraine. I’ve never had a migraine bad enough to go to the ER, but I couldn’t kick this one. I wish I was well enough to look up each ingredient before I let them administer the drugs to me. The second I received the Reglan dose, I immediately felt a crushing, awful, crawling-out-of-my-skin weird feeling. I had to pull my mask down and started having a panic attack. Reality felt completely warped. I wanted to pull the IV out, I couldn’t hold still, even though they told me that holding still would make it go away faster: umm, not true. No one told me the potential side effects of this medication. I felt like I was dying, my legs were shaking, I was so restless and hopeless. The nurses kept saying it would go away after a few minutes, of course, it didn’t. After 30 minutes of this nightmare, they finally gave me Ativan for anxiety, and it helped. Stay away from Reglan!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I’m pregnant and went to the ER for nausea. They gave me fluids and then gave me Reglan in the IV. I immediately felt an overwhelming feeling of anxiety. A few minutes later, I had them take the IV out. I felt antsy and couldn’t sit still. Didn’t click that it was from the Reglan since I have a history of anxiety and don’t like fluids going in me. But 6 hours later, I’m home, anxious, restless, shaking, foot, and irritated. So I googled the medicine and sure enough everyone here is having a similar experience. Don’t recommend, definite anxiety inducer. Hope it goes away. The reviews saying they still have it from one dose are scaring me."
