For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan while pregnant to help with nausea/vomiting. While it helped with nausea, I felt like I was going crazy. Could not sleep, couldn’t sit still, my mind was racing. It was terrible. I immediately stopped taking it. I would have rather dealt with the nausea than feel that way."

For Migraine "Yesterday, I went to the ER because of a migraine and blurred vision. The doctor ordered Morphine, Toradol, and Reglan through my IV. The nurse pushed the Reglan really slow, but I still felt restless. It's like a feeling of being trapped in your body with it trying to jump out. As soon as I told the nurse what I was feeling, she told the doctor, and he treated me with Benadryl through my IV, and it stopped the feeling. After that, I was drowsy, and my body started to relax, and I was able to fall asleep. I will say that the migraine went away and my vision got better. I hope this helps someone."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I had surgery on my nose and was given Reglan afterwards because of nausea. This was a terrible mistake. I immediately felt jittery and so restless, like I could run a marathon. Thankfully, I was still tired, so I fell asleep not long after. A few months later, I went to the ER after vomiting all night, and the nurse injected something into my IV without telling me exactly what it was, and I got the same feelings all over again. They had to give me something to reverse it, and this time I asked for the name of the drug so I can make sure it’s never given to me again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the ER for non-stop vomiting, and they gave me Reglan through the IV. I was already sitting in the room, waiting to be treated for 3 hours, so I was already annoyed, but once they administered the Reglan and left me there for what would’ve been more hours, I felt like I was going insane. Never in my life have I felt so manic, I called my husband, stuttering to him, saying, “I’m gonna rip the IV out of my arm! I have to get out of this hospital!” So he told me to calm down, and maybe someone would come check on me, but an hour passed, and I finally lost it and dialed the nurse to discharge me from the hospital ASAP. I felt so embarrassed and kept saying, “I don’t know why I feel like this,” but I was too restless, and my anxiety was literally making me crazy. They never warned me of any side effects."

"I'm a 36-year-old male, and in the last year, I have been getting colitis flare-ups. To where my stomach is literally pumping like my heart. Throwing up bile and blood. I get to the point where my heart rate went to 36, which normally is around 80. This has been probably my 10th time going to the ER with constant uncontrollable vomiting. The only thing that helps is Reglan and morphine. Together. Now, Reglan makes me want to pull my IV out as I get very, very restless, and my legs go crazy like I can't lay still. In a few solutions in the past, the nurse made the fluids go in super fast, and that immediately made me feel so much better, also, Benadryl helps. I was just at the ER yesterday with the worst it's been, and it's my birthday today. Hands down, Reglan is a lifesaver, and with that pain, I will take the side effects. Zofran nor Phenergan work."

For Migraine "After about a week of headaches and migraines with no relief despite taking every treatment I had available, I went to the ER. The doctor mentioned Reglan as a treatment option, and I accepted. I got Reglan in an IV, and a few minutes later, I just started to feel very anxious. Everything just felt very urgent, and I felt very restless. My face also started to feel hot. I also was alone during this visit, which I'm sure didn't help. I also suffer from anxiety, so it just increased my usual symptoms. My migraine relief was only so-so; it came back the next day. Reglan might be a good option for you if your migraine is really bad, but be careful because it can make you really anxious."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was in the ER for hyperemesis gravidarum. I could not hold anything down. I was admitted into the hospital and was given 5 mg of Reglan every 6 hours through IV. It definitely helped with my nausea. However, it made me extremely restless and I could not sleep for 3 days while in the hospital, and I take Seroquel 200 mg also. I do think it was a combination of not being comfortable in the hospital and the Reglan because I slept at home once I’m out with the pill form. But, I’ve been spacing the Seroquel and Reglan hours apart and not at the same time because I do think it definitely contributes to the Seroquel not being as effective since Reglan is made to empty your stomach and to process things better. Taking them at the same time was not as effective for sleep. I have a history of mental illness but take medication that helps, so I think I didn’t have many mental side effects because of that. Reglan is known to cause tremors, shakes, etc. Especially with other certain meds."

For Migraine "I had the most horrendous experience with Reglan for migraine. I’ve never had a migraine bad enough to go to the ER, but I couldn’t kick this one. I wish I was well enough to look up each ingredient before I let them administer the drugs to me. The second I received the Reglan dose, I immediately felt a crushing, awful, crawling-out-of-my-skin weird feeling. I had to pull my mask down and started having a panic attack. Reality felt completely warped. I wanted to pull the IV out, I couldn’t hold still, even though they told me that holding still would make it go away faster: umm, not true. No one told me the potential side effects of this medication. I felt like I was dying, my legs were shaking, I was so restless and hopeless. The nurses kept saying it would go away after a few minutes, of course, it didn’t. After 30 minutes of this nightmare, they finally gave me Ativan for anxiety, and it helped. Stay away from Reglan!"

For Migraine "Went to the ER for a horrible migraine that would not go away. Doctor gave me a 'migraine cocktail,' and Reglan was part of it. THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I honestly feel like I have some PTSD symptoms from this experience. Gave me through IV and instantly started to have a panic attack. I felt so restless, like my bones wanted to jump out of my skin, couldn’t get comfortable, had to repeatedly get out of my bed and pace the room, this combined with dizziness was horrible. My heart rate also skyrocketed to 140 and stayed in that range all night according to my Fitbit. Two weeks after the ER visit, every time I stood up or did any type of activity, my heart would go to 160-180. I ended up back in the ER 4 times after this experience because of my heart. I’ve never had heart problems before taking this medication! It took around 2 months for me to start to feel normal again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I’m pregnant and went to the ER for nausea. They gave me fluids and then gave me Reglan in the IV. I immediately felt an overwhelming feeling of anxiety. A few minutes later, I had them take the IV out. I felt antsy and couldn’t sit still. Didn’t click that it was from the Reglan since I have a history of anxiety and don’t like fluids going in me. But 6 hours later, I’m home, anxious, restless, shaking, foot, and irritated. So I googled the medicine and sure enough everyone here is having a similar experience. Don’t recommend, definite anxiety inducer. Hope it goes away. The reviews saying they still have it from one dose are scaring me."

For Migraine "Reglan is amazing for migraines! I've had them for years, and when my prescriptions don't work, Reglan in the ER does. In fact, I found this thread because I am looking for info for self-administering. As many others mentioned, Reglan causes intense anxiety. For me, it's just restlessness. I feel as though I have to move my legs, even run! I can't lay still, even before my headache is better. I told this to my doctor during my last ER visit, and he added Ativan to the IV. That solved the problem. My advice is to not avoid the medication because of the side effects. Instead, ask the doctor about options to reduce the anxiety or restlessness."

For Migraine "I was given this for a CT scan. As a great side effect, it worked extremely well for an acute, long-lasting migraine episode for me. People are correct that the psychological side effects are extremely unpleasant, but I believe that for me, Reglan stopped a months, possibly years, long migraine cycle. I think Reglan is a miracle drug. It is nice to know that it exists. The side effects were as bad as people are describing - within about 5 minutes of coming back from the CT, I told the aid that I had to leave the building due to being extremely anxious and restless. If you have “intractable migraine” and are in the ER and have not ruled it out, I would advise giving it a shot."

For Migraine "This knocks out my migraine pain very quickly. As others mentioned, it causes extreme restlessness and anxiety. Request Ativan and Benadryl for the uncomfortable symptoms, and it works very quickly."

For Migraine "Same as the other bad reviews. Impulse to rip out IV and run. Restless but had to stay in the hospital bed. Flighty, uncomfortable. Worse than the migraine. I am bipolar and on meds, and they gave it to me anyway. After getting it, I remembered that I had that experience before once. I put it on my list of allergies now. NEVER AGAIN. Luckily, only lasted about an hour. Worst hour of my life."
