For Bowel Preparation "I had no problem drinking Suprep when I took the first dose at 5 pm 2 days ago, and I did not have any nausea or extreme cramping. It did work to clean my bowel, however, within minutes, my heart started to beat very forcefully and in an irregular manner. I started shaking uncontrollably, and I was struck by a sudden, extremely painful migraine. My blood pressure rose to 211/108, and I ended up in the emergency room. This would have been my 3rd colonoscopy over the years, and I never experienced something like this before. It was the first time using Suprep. It has been 2 days now since I drank it, and I still have a migraine. Beware of the side effects, you might be better off with the previously prescribed gallon of laxative!"

For Bowel Preparation "I took my first dosage at 6 pm, 2 hrs. ago. I breathed through my mouth, so all I tasted was slightly grapey, slightly salty. I drank the 32 oz of water in 15 minutes. No cramps or nausea. I ate very lightly yesterday and just drank liquids today. I take my second dose an hour from now, and don't think I'll have any problems."

For Bowel Preparation "I found the Suprep very difficult to take. I followed a low fiber/light diet at least 3 days prior. The straw was somewhat helpful. But the buildup of whatever chemical they put in the prep was quickly overwhelming. I got through the first dose but threw up after drinking all the water. It started working after 5 minutes. I had a lot of discomfort, cramping, and chills. The cramping was relieved after I started going. I was disappointed it took so many trips to the bathroom. After starting the 2nd dose, the fluids started running clear. I did not finish all the second dose. I was happy to pour about the last one-quarter cup away and everything associated with it. My endoscopy and colonoscopy went fine. I will never do the Suprep again."

For Bowel Preparation "Definitely gets the job done. Use Vaseline or A&D on your rear! This stuff can really burn. My husband was so sore he couldn't sit, and I had no pain at all. That was the difference. I drank the first dose over 40 minutes, followed by the water-all in by 1.5 hours, as MD said I could take 2.5 hours if needed. I figured drinking the Suprep slowly would likely avoid some of the cramping and bloating and violent responses of which others complained. It seemed to work. It tasted bad, but after all the reviews, I thought it would be worse, and at 55 minutes results came in a controlled fashion, i.e., no great emergency. Second dose was a little harder to drink, but I did. I'm a small female, too. Next time I won't be as nervous."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first colonoscopy, and I am a big baby when it comes to liquid medicine. I hate the taste of liquid meds. I won't buy a liquid med. I was scared I would not be able to tolerate it when I had to use it. Yes, it tastes salty and sweet at the same time. I just held my nose and drank with a straw. I had it down in about 10 mins and 8 sips with some pep talk to myself. Put it in the fridge when you get it from the pharmacy, and mix with ice cold water. Suck on a lemon between sips. That was what saved me. It started to work about a half hour after my first sip. The worst part is you just go, not warning, it just comes out fast. I've had no cramps or chills. Hopefully, the second round is as easy."

For Bowel Preparation "Traumatic. Tastes awful and is difficult to get down & more difficult to keep down. It felt awful in my stomach & having to consume 32 oz of water after forcing it down was impossible. 1st dose cleaned me out, cramps were terrible. My procedure was at 6:30 am, so I had to do a whole round of prep again only a few hours later. Trauma of the first dose was too fresh to even think of it. 2nd time I managed the mixture, but it took over an hour as I wanted to vomit. Could only manage 8 oz of water instead of 32 on the second round because the volume was just too much for my system. Could not get out of the bathroom after the 2nd dose, cramps were bad & I was too 'full' of liquid. Didn’t sleep all night & was dehydrated upon getting to my appointment. Two rounds of prep is overkill for me & I will not do this again. 1st method was a one-time event & better. After the harsh first round of Suprep, facing the 2nd round was unbearable. I’ll request anything but this method if I have to do this again."

For Bowel Preparation "I researched this medicine a lot in preparation for my first colonoscopy. I have IBS, so even my laxatives can and often do send me into an attack. However, I want to share that this prep was not bad at all. It WILL clean you out. However, my doctor gave me nausea meds to take a half hour before drinking the meds, and I did great. The taste is pretty bad. But mix a pack of lemonade mix in with it and the water and hold your nose. I chased it with a sip of my favorite soda too. I barely tasted the medicine since I kept my nose pinched until I took a sip of my soda. It really isn’t bad at all. Make sure you use diaper cream and wipes and stay VERY close to the bathroom. I had no nausea, chills, or cramps. But I didn’t have much notice when I had to go, thus me saying stay very close to the bathroom."

For Bowel Preparation "In the middle of my first dose. After reading other reviews, I was positively dreading it. Now, it wasn't exactly tasty, but I just gulped it down and occasionally bit down a lemon wedge, which really helped. It wasn't until the last few swallows that I had to give it a bit more effort because the taste was getting to me. My doctor's office told me I could drink Gatorade instead of plain water after finishing prep bottle #1. I did not have anything cold because I prefer room temperature. It took 35 minutes to start working. It's been 2 hours, and I've gone four times with no cramping, chills, nausea, etc. Things are already starting to be more clear. I'm really glad for the low-fiber diet and for pushing fluids all day today. Not staying long on the pot either."

For Bowel Preparation "I did not have the terrible experience others have described. I started by eating light the day before with a high-fiber cereal for breakfast and again for dinner. I took a Colace before bed, and with these pre-prep additions, I was already clearing out before I started the Suprep. I had my prep cold and then added filtered water. I used a thick milkshake straw and put it on the back of my tongue. I finished the drink in two gulps, followed by a lemon wedge. Five minutes later, the butt faucet turned on. No cramps, nausea, vomiting, or headache. I did put Desitin on my bottom to help keep the skin from getting raw. I also used soft baby butt wipes for sensitive skin for the same reason. Next dose in 4 hours, and I'm no longer worried about it."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m sitting on the bowel as I type. I’ve only done the first bottle so far. A nurse told me I could do it at 4 and 11 for my 8 a.m. appointment. I started drinking it around 4:10, and it took at least a half hour to get it down. By the end of the cup, I was so nauseated, and I thought I’d lose it. The taste is so awful I can’t even describe it. I had trouble getting the 32 ounces down because I was so bloated. I managed 16 within an hour, and then my stomach started cramping. The cramping got pretty severe, and I called a nurse (who never returned my call). Luckily, things finally started moving after two hours, and I spent about a half hour just hanging out on the toilet while everything literally poured out of me. I’m here again not even 15 minutes after I thought I was done. I dread the next round because of the taste and how nauseous I got. My insurance covered the prescription 100%."

For Bowel Preparation "As most people said, the taste is not pleasant, but I got it all down with no problems. Drinking a lot of water the days leading to the test and especially the day of the prep made it work through well. Also, eating a lighter diet the couple of days before made the process go easily. I did not experience any nausea, vomiting, or cramping. I was prepped well, and my colonoscopy went fine. The only negative side of this is the taste. Maybe they can find a way to improve it before my next one!"

For Bowel Preparation "Not my first prep but have to say my best one. No issues with the taste just mixed a little Gatorade and water and was able to drink it right down. No problems getting the two glasses of water down afterwards as I didn't feel the bloating like past preps. Produced watery bowel movement in about an hour with minor cramping. Have to say this is the best prep I've done."

For Bowel Preparation "Well, I for one do not know what the big hullabaloo was/is about drinking the stuff. No offense to anyone, but I've had worse tap water! I did put the meds in the fridge but kept my drinking water at room temp. 1st dose shot the stuff right down, no problem, didn’t breathe through my nose. The water - it's just 32 oz of water, for Pete's sake! Some cramping and nausea 3 hrs, all done, went to sleep next am-re. 2nd dose - much easier, took about 2 1/2 hrs, then drank some Gatorade. I would never use a straw, that just prolongs the agony for those who are so freaked out about the taste! Drink it right down and get it over with! I stayed in the bathroom the whole time with my laptop, wouldn't think of getting more than 5' from the toilet! My first colonoscopy - 65y."

For Bowel Preparation "I was pleasantly surprised by how well this went. I read the reviews and followed some of the tips. Berry Propel water to mix the medicine with really helped with the taste. It wasn't bad. I chilled it well and chugged it down. It started to work in 20 minutes. Other than feeling chilled, I was fine. No bad cramping or bloating. I started at 5:00 P.M. and thought I'd be up all night, but by 9:30, I was able to fall asleep and only got up once. Took the 2nd dose at 5:30 A.M. the next day. Same results. My procedure was at 11:30, and everything was great! I squeezed lemon juice into the two glasses of water after each dose, and that helped too. This was WAY better than the prep I did ten years ago! Insurance didn't cover, so Dr. gave me med."

For Bowel Preparation "Wasn't that bad. It's my first time getting a colonoscopy at 20 years old, and I was both pleasantly surprised and horribly disappointed. The taste is bad but not terrible-definitely like salty grape or cherry cough syrup. I had a harder time getting down the water after the actual medicine because it made me so nauseous. I had really terrible shakes and chills, but it passed within the first hour, along with the cramping and the nausea. I would stay on the toilet if I were you and definitely keep wet wipes handy. After the initial symptoms, it was really easy to deal with, I would recommend it."

For Bowel Preparation "So it tastes pretty terrible, it's salty and fruity, just terrible. But it worked in under 30 minutes. I didn't have any cramping or pain, just very full, so that's good because I was starving, lol. So it's not bad, not great, but not bad. I would use it again because it was pain-free for me. :) I have issues, I have ulcerative colitis, so I'm sensitive, and I would use it again!"

For Bowel Preparation "Excellent prep for me: 1) Taste was okay, 2) 16 ounces total (when the water is added - moderately cool) is easy to drink, 3) also easy to drink is the additional water requested within the hour, 4) no side effects for me (no cramps, no chills, no nausea). For me, scheduling the procedure in the afternoon works best - you do a prep at 5:00 pm the evening before, and by 11 pm you can sleep. Then, the next day you do the second prep around 9 pm. Very little disruption of schedule."

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff doesn't taste as bad as some people are saying. I read some posts here and was a little cautious, so I split the 16 oz into four 4 oz cups. Drank each of them with a straw, then chased it with yellow Gatorade. I had lemons cut up and on hand just in case, but I didn't need them. Spent about 20 minutes drinking the 16 oz, then I went to sit on the toilet with my 32 oz of yellow Gatorade. I didn't have any nausea or cramps, and it started working within 20-30 minutes after taking it. I'd say I was on the toilet for about 2 hours for each cleanse. My bum was a little sore after the second cleanse, so you might wanna use some cream before and during (I didn't). I did restrict myself to a low-fiber diet the day before the cleanse. No idea if that helped, but it was a cinch. I don't recommend you worry about taking this stuff. I actually found the cleanse to be a pleasant experience. Onward and upward, my friends."

For Bowel Preparation "Terrible reaction to this medicine. Severe bloating and cramps. At first, I just figured it was a side effect and would feel better once it started working, the cramps would go away. But it never worked and the cramps got really intense after 5 hours, after drinking Suprep, I was considering going to the emergency room. I didn't have a fever or feel like vomiting, so I decided to stay. But 30 minutes later, I felt weak, dizzy, nauseous, had a dry mouth, and my jaw was going numb. I went to the ER. After vomiting, I felt better. But then I had a bout of hiccups that caused further pain from the cramping. My body couldn't handle the medicine. I did fast, I did all that you're supposed to do."

For Bowel Preparation "Before using the stuff, I read a bunch of reviews. Cool the prep and mixing water, room temp water for the 2 glass 16 oz followers. Drink it fast, wait about 10 minutes, and then a lot of visits to the WC. Have a new roll of paper. Do it again as prescribed, and that is it. It worked much better than the older stuff. After about 2 1/2 hours, the show was over each time. No cramps, headaches, vomit, etc. Just a somewhat unpleasant 2 days."

For Bowel Preparation "Today was my 4th colonoscopy (I have polyps). It was the first time I used Suprep. To prepare for the big day :-), I checked out this site and quickly realized there were many differences of opinion and lots of good tips. I stocked up on chicken broth, green Kool-Aid, lemonade, water, Sprite, lemon drops, lemon slices, and apple juice, which I used throughout the all-liquids day. The real star of the show once I began the actual prep was something I read about on this site: White Cherry Powerade mixed with the chilled prep solution, instead of water. At 6 PM, drank this down fairly easily over 20 minutes. Slept from 11 to 3. Alternated solution with sips of apple juice and water for the second dose. No cramps, pain, or nausea. Cleans you out!"

For Bowel Preparation "Taste isn't that bad. Just use a straw, count to 10 with each sip, then stop for a minute. Take a swig of water, then repeat till done. Drink 2-16 oz bottles of cool water. First wave hits within an hour. No cramping at all. First round done in a bit over 2 hours. Apply A&D or Vaseline to your butt - this was a lifesaver. 2nd round 10 hours later, with the same good result. All over and done, and back from the scope, guys. Highly recommend this stuff!"

For Bowel Preparation "Had my colonoscopy today after putting it off for a couple of months because of the prep. This was my fifth colonoscopy, and Suprep was by far the easiest for me. I was very skeptical, especially after reading some of the reviews on this site. But there were also some very good suggestions for getting it down, as well. I started the prep last night at 6:30. I kept the Suprep in the fridge and mixed it with 8 oz of 7-Up and cold water. I also divided it into four 4 oz cups and drank it through a straw. Keep lemon wedges nearby to suck on after each cup. Got it all down within 5 minutes. It started working within a half hour, and I was pretty much done by 8:30. I never had nausea, vomiting, or cramping. This morning I repeated the above."

For Bowel Preparation "I had myself so worked up after reading all the comments. But it was all the tips that got me through. I did a pre-cleanse Friday-Sunday night. Four caps of Miralax in eight ounces of water and four Dulcolax each night. I did a very low-fiber diet since Saturday. Today was clear liquids. I have a bad gag reflex and puke easily. I took a Zofran at 4:15 and did my first prep at 5 pm. I made it ice cold and added a pack of Crystal Light lemonade. I divided it into four cups. I drank each with a straw, followed by sucking a sugar-dipped lemon wedge. I also had a green Jolly Rancher in my mouth. I had all four drank in about eight minutes, followed up by 32 ounces of water in about 50 minutes. It’s now 7 pm. I have been on and off the toilet. I have had no chills, no nausea, and no cramping. I think this has been so easy based on all of the different things I did. I know everyone has a different experience, but if you have to do this, follow all these tips and tricks, and hopefully, you will have a good experience too."

For Bowel Preparation "First time colonoscopy. This prep was a walk in the park, easy. No cramping, no nausea, no headaches-really none of the stuff people I have read complain about. The effect from both doses took about 30 minutes, and the resulting bathroom trips about 2 hours each time."
