For Bowel Preparation "I just turned 50, am relatively healthy, and this is my first encounter with any type of cleanse for a routine colostomy. After reading these comments, I have to admit, I had myself worked into a tizzy about everything, to the point of almost backing out completely. But, I powered through and felt the entire experience could have been much worse. The taste, I agreed, was bad, but I did have the bottle chilled and mixed with cold water and Sprite. I would take several gulps, chase with Sprite, wait for the burp, then repeat until the process was completed. It only took about 15 minutes both times. The effects began working within an hour after both steps, and I was fortunate enough that I did not experience cramps, urgency, or any explosive results. While it wasn't a horrible experience, it was different, and nobody likes different. I think the worst parts for me were, besides the anticipation of the unknown, the anticipation of having to go through it again the second time."

For Bowel Preparation "57-year-old woman. Began prep early. If time allows, taper your pre-test diet - you'll be glad you did! No red meat or fried foods 4 days before, chicken and veggies 3 days before, no meat, dairy, or whole grains 2 days before, then only approved clear liquids the day before as per Suprep instructions. Filled prescription early and chilled thoroughly. Took anti-nausea meds 1 1/2 hours before I began drinking prep each time. Drank cold mixture as quickly as possible with a straw, then brushed my teeth. Chased with sips of cold water at a more comfortable pace. Finished within allotted time. Taste was not pleasant, but not so nasty as I feared. Lots of burping within 15 minutes. I experienced mild cramping as the potion began to do its job. Began to empty at the 1-hour mark. Cramping stopped with first bowel motion. Watery yellow stools continued almost nonstop for the first hour, then tapered off, ending after 3 hours for a total of 4 hours from start to finish. I was able to rest until time for round two. Took second chilled dose 10 hours later. Tasted worse, perhaps because my tongue recognized the taste. Felt bloated before I got halfway through, so wasn't able to chug the prep this time; chased with all 32 oz of cold water. This made me so cold I had to find a sweater! No cramping this time, but more burping. Bright yellow liquid output began in less than an hour. Emptying and burping continued for an hour. 2 hours start to finish."

For Bowel Preparation "Not as terrible as many reviewers make it out to be. I would not describe the taste as 'good,' but it's not horrible. Like salt added to a sports drink. Mild cramping, but I've had worse reactions to fast food than to Suprep. Just had to put the big boy pants on and do it. You'll live. Quit worrying about it and don't listen to the horror stories."

For Bowel Preparation "I rated this drug high for effectiveness, but let me say the taste was hideous. I took the first dose at 4 pm, and unfortunately for me, I had pretty bad cramping until it kicked in and did its job about 4 hours later. I read other reviews, and I think this was unusual. I took the second dose around 11:00 pm. This time I followed others' advice and licked a lemon between drinks. It was still torturous, but it helped. I got it down without vomiting. This was my first and hopefully last experience with a colonoscopy. So I really don't know if there is a better alternative."

For Bowel Preparation "Lawd! This stuff is ghastly! Barely got the 1st dose down with some minor gagging, but then the gas, cramps, and bloating started. After 30 minutes, it was working, so that was good because I vomited almost all of the 2nd dose. This is my 4th colonoscopy and by far the worst. I will find another prep next time."

For Bowel Preparation "Really not a bad experience. The key, I think, is eating light for the two 'low-fiber' days - I ate very little on day 2 - before embarking on day 3 liquid diet and bowel prep. The sour cherry-ish taste is unpleasant, but chilled is perfectly drinkable. Effects were immediate and done within one hour - no nausea or cramping."

For Bowel Preparation "I read a review that said this stuff was 'invented by Lucifer,' and it was the most accurate thing ever. This stuff is NASTY. Do not drink it with a straw. You need to chug as much of it as you can, and then suck on a lemon wedge. I wish I had read the reviews prior to choking down the first bottle, but the lemon was a lifesaver for the second bottle. Smells okay, tastes like a super salty/sweet grape drink on crack. Worst thing I've ever had to ingest. As far as the cleaning out process, this stuff is great. I had zero cramps or pain, but that may be because of my vegan diet prior to this procedure. No nausea (except while drinking this), and no vomiting. Bowels emptied, and it eventually was only the drink itself leaving my body."

For Bowel Preparation "The anticipation of the bowel prep was way worse than the actual prep! The meds taste awful-there's not a lot that can be done with that. Even when I mixed it in with a flavoring packet, it still tasted like salty grape medicine. (I highly recommend sucking on a Jolly Rancher in between drinks, it makes it a lot more doable.) I fortunately did not experience any pain, cramping, or nausea. While I could live without the taste of Suprep, it overall made for a very comfortable and effective prep, so I would highly recommend!"

For Bowel Preparation "2nd screening colonoscopy. Last one 11 years ago, and the prep then was pretty stressful. This time, it went great. Sipped the 1st dose at 6:00 PM, thought it was not working, then bam! At 3:00 AM, the 2nd dose was downed in one tip of the cup. I did notice adding additional water cups with the 1st dose kept me going for two hours. 2nd dose I stuck to the plan. No side effects others are seeing. No headache, no bloating, no cramping. Just a successful prep with an all clear at procedure time."

For Bowel Preparation "Overall, this prep isn't too bad. This is my first colonoscopy, so I was nervous about the prep and the procedure. This stuff doesn't taste good, but it's relatively easy to get down, just make sure you chill it. After the first dose, it started working within about 10 minutes. I took the first dose at 5 pm, and my last bathroom trip was at 1:30 am. I just took my second dose at 8 am for a 2 pm procedure. The second round is a lot better. I got bloating and cramps, but no headache so far like a couple of others. The worst part is the no eating. At this point, I'm not so worried about the actual procedure as much as I'm just ready for it to be done so I can eat!"

For Bowel Preparation "Like many, I dreaded the prep. I have IBS and GERD and was very nervous that I would feel awful. All my concerns were unnecessary. The experience was far easier than expected. I started drinking the first dose at 5 PM. There is also a cloying aftertaste which is difficult to describe. I quickly solved this problem by brushing my teeth. (Why no one ever mentions that I'll never know!) The prep didn't bother my stomach as feared. No nausea, no cramps. About twenty minutes in, I felt the need to go. It was merely like someone turning on a faucet. After two hours, I was mostly done going to the bathroom. It was a little tougher to drink Suprep at 6 the next morning, but wouldn't you expect it to be? It's 6 AM! Pro tip: Take an acid reducer like Zantac an hour before drinking this stuff. I would use this product again. My family members all used the gallon-sized preps for their colonoscopies. I can't imagine doing that! A low-volume prep like Suprep is the way to go."

For Bowel Preparation "Had to use Suprep for a routine colonoscopy. My first dose was at 5:00 in the evening, and I was kind of freaked out because of the reviews of how awful this stuff tasted. Mixed it up and chugged it down. Yeah, the taste was bad, but I got through it. Biting a lemon slice helped. The hard part for me was drinking the additional 32 ounces of water in the next hour. That's a lot of liquid to put into a stomach. I spent a lot of time in the bathroom during the course of the evening. Then I repeated the whole process at 2:00 a.m. Fun times. The good news: It was very effective. No intestinal cramping. No vomiting."

For Bowel Preparation "I have had two intestinal surgeries - hence, numerous bowel preps for testing pre and post. Suprep was - by far - the easiest bowel prep I have used to date. It was so easy, no cramps, no burning, etc. It also turned a two-day prep into one evening."

For Bowel Preparation "The taste isn't that awful, however, I highly recommend taking it cold, and I swished ginger ale in my mouth after each chug and then spit it out. Helped with the taste. It kicked in really quickly, like 15 minutes after I finished drinking it. It's been 2 hours, and I'm still going, but it's clear. I would suggest living in the bathroom for a few hours. I couldn't go far without having to go that first hour. I didn't have any cramps or bloating or any other side effects. If anything, I feel better than I did before I started. The prep and all that water sort of filled me up."

For Bowel Preparation "Suprep is far easier than the jug of prep I had 10 years ago! First dose at 6 p.m. No way to expect this to taste 'good.' It's medicine. It's unpleasant, but not impossible. Things kicked in around 6:45-ish and didn't slow down until 9:00-ish. I was in bed at 10 and got 6 hours of decent sleep. Second dose at 5:45 a.m. Harder to get down. Felt nauseous and had to use 'mind over matter' to get it all down. Felt bloated with some cramping and gas after drinking all the water. The second dose kicked in around 6:15 a.m. and slowed around 8:00. I was able to check in for my procedure at 10:45 a.m. with no 'accidents' on the way there. It works, but it's not 'fun.' Plan to camp in the bathroom, prepare mentally, and consider yourself cleansed!"

For Bowel Preparation "Finally, a prep that worked for me! I've had 2 previous colonoscopies using the old gallons of nasty saltwater prep and Pikoprep-neither worked for me as I did not get completely clean. Today, I had great results after using Suprep! Sure, it doesn't taste great, but you can get it down. It started working within an hour, and I had no cramping or discomfort at all and was done in 3 hours. The 2nd part of the cleanout went just as well, and my colonoscopy was perfect. I highly recommend this product!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was very nervous about taking Suprep after reading the side effects that could happen. I was on a liquid diet all day yesterday of broth, jello, juice, and water. I was instructed to take the Suprep at 3 and 6 pm. I mixed and drank the first dose at 3 pm. I immediately filled and drank 2 full cups of water per the instructions. The taste wasn't as bad as some of the reviews I read. It does have a salty metallic taste, but it was not unbearable for me. My first urge to go to the bathroom came within 15 minutes. This round lasted about an hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. As I sat, I continued to drink water because I didn't want to get dehydrated. I had no cramping nor any discomfort at all! My 6 pm dose was the same. Great product, just drink plenty!"

For Bowel Preparation "After reading several reviews prior to my prep, I was dreading the prep. However, my experience was nothing like most posts. The taste is not terrific, but it was tolerable at a slow pace (5 minutes to drink solution). I had no cramping and was very gentle. Suprep Bowel Prep certainly did its job. Had first BM within 1 1/2 hours after the first dose and subsequent BMs x 3 hours. Second dose acted much quicker (25 minutes) and was complete in 2 hours. I found the most difficult time was drinking the 32 oz following the initial 16 oz mixture, but I typically don't drink much water per day anyway, so this was extreme for me. Overall, no nausea, no chills, no cramping... very pleased."

For Bowel Preparation "Was very nervous as this is my first prep. Took 2 Dulcolax at 3 pm and then took my first bottle at 5 pm. Had it in the fridge and added cold water. The taste was not horrible, and I was able to get it down in a few drinks. Didn't use a straw but did suck on a lemon after each swig. Started working in about 10 minutes. It's now 6:15, and I'm laying in bed, relaxing. Feel pretty cleaned out. No headache, nausea, or cramps. Let's see how the second bottle goes down!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was pleasantly surprised with how easy Suprep was to get down. The taste was not great, but when compared to the gallon of slimy, salty, and nauseating Nulytely I had to ingest with my last prep years ago, Suprep was a piece of cake! I did mix a splash of ginger ale with the prep mixture along with a light sprinkle of Crystal Light peach mango crystals. I also sliced up a lemon and sucked on those between every 4 or 5 swallows. After mixing the prep solution, I divided it into 3 cups. I chugged the contents in each cup, sucking on a lemon slice between each cup. I was able to get both preps down in less than 5 minutes each, and the 2 bottles of water afterward within 10 minutes. No nausea or cramping. First prep worked in 40 min, 2nd in 20."

For Bowel Preparation "I ate a low-fiber diet for 3 days prior to my colonoscopy. I used Phenergan anti-nausea suppositories to prevent nausea. I drank the Suprep as instructed - the taste is like very strong grape cough syrup, but I chewed a piece of gum after each dose, and it helped the taste. I had no nausea or cramps, and the diarrhea started about 1 hour after my first Suprep dose. I took the second dose 6 hours before my procedure with no problems. I used Preparation H cream to prevent a sore butt. No issues with the prep or the colonoscopy - the doctor said the Suprep ensures a clean colon."

For Bowel Preparation "First time colonoscopy. This prep was a walk in the park, easy. No cramping, no nausea, no headaches-really none of the stuff people I have read complain about. The effect from both doses took about 30 minutes, and the resulting bathroom trips about 2 hours each time."

For Bowel Preparation "I had no problem drinking Suprep when I took the first dose at 5 pm 2 days ago, and I did not have any nausea or extreme cramping. It did work to clean my bowel, however, within minutes, my heart started to beat very forcefully and in an irregular manner. I started shaking uncontrollably, and I was struck by a sudden, extremely painful migraine. My blood pressure rose to 211/108, and I ended up in the emergency room. This would have been my 3rd colonoscopy over the years, and I never experienced something like this before. It was the first time using Suprep. It has been 2 days now since I drank it, and I still have a migraine. Beware of the side effects, you might be better off with the previously prescribed gallon of laxative!"

For Bowel Preparation "I took my first dosage at 6 pm, 2 hrs. ago. I breathed through my mouth, so all I tasted was slightly grapey, slightly salty. I drank the 32 oz of water in 15 minutes. No cramps or nausea. I ate very lightly yesterday and just drank liquids today. I take my second dose an hour from now, and don't think I'll have any problems."

For Bowel Preparation "I just finished my first age-recommended colonoscopy. My experience was straightforward; no side effects, and Suprep worked. I was worried after reading some of the reviews here; it was easier than I anticipated. Things that worked well for me: 1. Refrigerate both the bottle of Suprep and the water you’ll mix it with. 2. Drink the Suprep/water mixture through a straw to bypass some of the taste buds. 3. Have a flavored beverage nearby while drinking the Suprep/water to cover the Suprep taste between swigs. I used Sprite once and orange Gatorade the second time. 4. Mix the post-Suprep water/beverage with Simethicone drops (1.8 ml = 3 droppersful per 16 oz water) to prevent problems with gas. 5. Coat your bum with Vaseline before you start drinking. 6. Use a bidet toilet seat if you have one. Fortunately, I didn’t have any nausea, cramping, chills, or gas that others have mentioned. You can do it! It’s really not bad."
