For Constipation "I was constipated for several days due to traveling and eating like garbage. I tried the cherry flavor. I only drank 1/4 of the bottle and diluted it with water. It started working within 2 hours. I had some nausea, but I took some Zofran to take care of that. I was able to have multiple bowel movements without diarrhea. 10/10."

For Constipation "My advice: Do NOT take the whole 10 oz. bottle at once. This laxative is very effective but very powerful. I drank 6 oz. of the 10 oz. CVS lemon-flavored solution, and then drank plenty of water. Two hours later, I had both sudden nausea and an urge to go to the bathroom. The magnesium citrate worked great at relieving the constipation. But the nausea was bad -- I'm lucky I didn't vomit. I can't imagine taking a whole bottle at once. Take the lowest dose listed on the label; then take more if you don't get results in six hours."

For Constipation "This product works great! Recent bouts of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome - constipation) have sent me to the ER now twice. No bowel movement for 7 days, drank prune juice, took laxatives, 2 enemas, stool softeners, nothing worked! After the ER trip, the doctor recommended this miracle drink and sent me home! You will need the next 12+ hours off. I drank the lemon flavor and didn't find the taste that bad, but it made me super nauseous for an hour after drinking it. Took about 8 hours to kick in, tummy gurgles, and the next morning, everything has come out in liquid grossness, and I have a feeling it will continue all day! I was worried this wasn't going to work after a few hours and no results, but other reviewers have had different timelines of how quick this takes to kick in. When all else fails, this product does what it needs to do! Will save me a lot of time and money on any future ER visits! $3 a bottle and the issue fixed...for now! Wish I had found this product sooner!!!"

For Constipation "I haven’t had a BM for almost a week. The past two days were the worst. I felt bloated, nauseous, and uncomfortable with abdominal pain. Nothing, including two enemas, helped until magnesium citrate. Things began to “flow” about an hour after I drank an entire bottle. I’m not going to lie, this stuff isn’t for the faint of heart! It’s tough going down and even more tough going out! But it cures my constipation, which I desperately needed."

For Constipation "I am usually pretty regular, but after taking Vicodin for dental surgery pain, I was stopped up for 7 days. I Googled laxatives, and MC came up. I picked up two bottles at CVS, the Cherry and Lemon Lime flavors, and drank the entire cherry bottle at about 5 pm when I got home, followed by a lot of water. I did feel nauseous for about an hour after drinking it, but thankfully it passed. When I had no results, I decided to drink a mint tea and go to bed. I awoke at 4 am to go pee - no other urges, and while in the bathroom, I'm like, well let's try pooing, and sure enough without any trumpets or fanfare, a nice solid bowel motion came out. I wiped, thought - wow, that was it? Nope! 5 mins later, I had to go again, this was 'sludgy,' followed by a river gushing out of my butt. No pain, no discomfort, just evacuation, then nothing. I literally lost 3 lbs in 5 mins. I seem to have no other urges, so if that was it, it was perfection. I just didn't like the nausea part, but a small price to pay."

For Constipation "So I have been dealing with constipation for 3 days, drank a whole bottle of this stuff, and 30 minutes later, uncontrollable bursts of liquid for another 2 hours and also a slight headache, maybe caused by the amount of water it takes out of your body. While drinking it, the nausea was crazy, but it got the job done. I do recommend this product. P.S. still sitting on the toilet."

For Constipation "Okay... so I was in the hospital for parasites about a month ago, and ever since then, I have only had BMs if I take something. And even then, it's still difficult. My mom recommended this stuff to me. I drank about 3/4 of the 10 oz bottle at 3:30 pm, and I started exploding at 5 pm. If you need to go, it works. Only downsides I experienced are pretty bad nausea and cramping (comes and goes between movements), and the fact it's not an instant one-and-done relief... don't take this if you have plans and can help it. I'm gonna have a hard time at work in the morning..."

For Constipation "I decided to write this because I have nothing better to do while I’m scared to leave the toilet. I’ve been feeling bloated and bunged up for a couple of weeks and thought I’d give this a try to reboot my poop shoot. I woke up at 6:30 am and started drinking 1,000 ml of water. At 10 am, I choked down my cherry-flavored citro-mag, followed by more water. For about 30 minutes, I was really nauseous, but I don’t know if it’s from the meds or the copious amounts of water I drank. It’s now 12:10, and this stuff has liquefied my insides. There’s no leaving this porcelain throne, but at least it seems to be doing its job! Also, not really any cramping, but my stomach feels really bubbly. I imagine this is what the inside of a can of pop feels like."

For Constipation "I am writing this review right after I finished passing my constipation. This product works great. I was clogged up for about three days. If you think this product will relieve you of all your pain, then you are sorely mistaken. It merely softens the stool, helping you to relieve it. It's like the Robin to your butt, it's a lot of help, but it's still just a sidekick to your Batman. The only reason I didn't give this a full ten was that instead of just drinking one and being over with it, I needed two full bottles of this. Overall, a fine product, but it tastes terrible, nauseatingly terrible. I'll start eating better and exercising more, pizza and the Internet are not worth this kind of pain."

For Constipation "I was very backed up for about 4 days, I usually go every day. For those 4 days, I took Miralax each morning with coffee and took 2 Peri Colace tablets each night at bedtime. By day 4, I was feeling miserable, could barely eat because I felt nauseous and so bloated. I do struggle with constipation because I have a few very large hernias that make it harder for me to stay regular. My best friend and neighbor recommended I try magnesium citrate, she said it works for her whenever she is constipated and to only take 1/2 of the bottle at first and make sure to drink it early in the morning before you eat or take your daily meds. I drank 1/2 of the lemon-flavored bottle at 6:30 a.m., followed by about 20 oz of water. I felt some nausea and could hear my tummy gurgling. At 7:15 a.m., I went to go potty, and I was able to have my first bowel movement in days, it wasn't liquid, it was stool, but it was easy to pass. This stuff is amazing and does work. Good luck to all, stay safe and healthy! God bless!"

For Constipation "My sister-in-law said to try this after I've not had a bowel movement in over a week. That is with the help of laxatives. She said within an hour, she was able to poop. After an hour, I kept feeling more and more nauseated and ended up throwing it up along with any other fluids. I'm going camping in the morning. This past few hours has been miserable. I finally went back to the store and got an enema. At least there's some relief, and I'm not nauseated. I'm hoping what did get into the system doesn't have me pooping anytime within the 5+ hours to get to my destination. Do I recommend... Absolutely not!!! It seems like I had this years ago, and it had the same effect. Save yourself, and your stomach, the agony."

For Constipation "I couldn't have a bowel movement for 3 or more days, and it got stuck and hurt coming out, so I drank this magnesium citrate. It tastes very sour, but I think it's just because of the lemon flavor. However, it works, but made me feel nausea and cramps a few minutes after, and bloated as I am typing this. I still have side effects, and this is after drinking it, and this is 10 or 9 hours later. It works good, but I felt a lot of pressure, so I took two Tylenol pills before going and worked it smoothly."

For Constipation "I was constipated for a little over a week. I took milk of magnesia and Miralax, but neither worked. So I did an oil enema, and that too did not work. Eventually, my mom's coworker told me to take magnesium citrate, so I go to Publix and get their lemon one. I read reviews before taking it to see what I was getting myself into. I took 1/2 of the bottle, and the taste was bad but bearable. I was expecting something to happen within a few hours, but all that happened was extreme nausea. The next morning, I woke up with the urge to go, so I go to the bathroom, and I basically peed out of my anus. That happened 3/4 times within an hour, but after that, it stopped. I could tell I was still backed up, so we did another enema, this time a saline one. The second I pulled out the nozzle, I ran to the toilet, and oh my... the relief is insane. I recommend this product, and if you want instant relief, use an enema with it as well."

For Constipation "Magnesium citrate, it doesn’t sound so bad, but are you in for a surprise. Of course, when you’re constipated, you’d want the quickest and most efficient method of getting things going. Well, if you’ve taken a swig or even a full-on sip, prepare yourself for a day of squatting and pain. Literally, the stuff liquefies everything in your stomach and digestion track to help the bowels pass, but in a rather extreme way. It could be very violent on the wrong person, but on others, it can be very gentle. Also, it does have side effects: loss of appetite, nausea, and prolonged purging. So please be wary when purchasing this awfully strong laxative. It’s for your best interest, as no one had mine."

For Constipation "After an alcohol binge that messed up my digestion for days, I tried 4 tbsp of milk of magnesium. It worked a bit, but after a day I still felt backed up. So I took a 10 oz bottle of magnesium citrate at 8:30pm. I downed it in about 15 mins. I immediately got nauseous, which lasted for about 2 hours. But I kept it down. In my 3rd hour, it hit me good, I was in the bathroom about 8-10 times between 11pm-2am. I was able to feel better, so I fell asleep. I woke up twice at 6am & 7am to another heavy explosion. When I got up at 10 am, I felt icky, not sick, but my insides were crawling. That lasted for a few hours, but subsided. Now it's 7 pm and still making me go a bit, causing stomach grumbling and gas. Overall, if you want guaranteed effectiveness, try this!"

For Constipation "Wow! These comments are so funny. I am severely constipated a few times a month. I can only go a little bit every day, and it's rock hard and dry. I drank 1/2 a bottle of the lemon (sour but yummy) and followed with 2 big glasses of water. I feel a little nauseated, but nothing too bad. It's 11:15 pm, so hopefully I have some relief before I sleep tonight...or I may wake up to a messy situation, lol."

For Constipation "I first heard about magnesium citrate from my doctor after 5 days without a BM. I went to urgent care and got an X-ray to find that I had hard stool. She gave me a bottle, and it worked after 1.5 hours. It made me a bit nauseous and lasted about 6 hours after the initial dose. This last time around, I'd been stopped up about 3 days. I took the full 10 oz bottle, and it started working in 45 minutes. This time, however, I've had a lot of cramping and abdominal pain. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't been properly hydrated or a more serious problem. I've been steadily drinking water since, and it's been 2.5 hours since I drank the bottle. Hopefully, the cramps subside soon."

For Constipation "Welp, I have to say... this wasn't the worst experience I've had with a laxative. But it's definitely not pleasant. I, thankfully, did not experience severe cramping as a lot of other folks who have posted here have mentioned. Just a lot of rumbling and gurgling before the 'main act.' You should plan to set up shop in the bathroom for a few hours. Bring your laptop, tablet, or Kindle with you to keep yourself occupied. Definitely drink a lot of water; I alternated plain water and zero sugar Powerade. If you find you're having a hard time getting things moving, try a warm cup of tea (I'm partial to ginger tea, especially if I'm dealing with bloating and/or nausea). You could also try sitting in a warm bath, but you may end up pooping in the tub, so... maybe don't, if that sounds as unpleasant to you as it does to me. As others have said... do NOT trust a fart while this stuff is working its way through your system."

For Constipation "I don’t even know what I was thinking! My gastro doctor told me to drink one bottle of this and right after do a saline enema in the morning and one in the evening. I have horrible constipation and have not had diarrhea for 8 years. Anyway, I didn’t read all of this beforehand, so I took it in the morning on an empty stomach and didn’t really drink any liquids. It worked! It did make me nauseous for about an hour, but it did the trick so well my stupid ass (pun intended) thought I’m gonna do another one the next day. Omg, I have been peeing out my butt for two days straight and awoke last night to run to the bathroom. So, I have been pooping for three days now and I feel like this will never end. I also have a wicked headache that must be from so much water loss. So, yeah, ummm, it’s been a crazy 3 days. Don’t take it two days in a row and, yeah, I drank the whole bottle both times. My head is pounding so bad."

For Constipation "I drank a whole bottle at around 2 pm after realizing that I haven't been having regular bowel movements since moving to Hawaii a month ago. After about 5 hours, I began to have a nauseated feeling and some cramping, and right after, I experienced the first round of the meds working. It's now 10:34 pm, and I'm on my 4th run to the bathroom. I recommend taking this early in the morning so you're not up all night. But it definitely works!"

For Constipation "I drank 1 bottle of Mag Citrate followed by 8 oz of water at 6:30 pm. It started working next morning at 6:30 AM! Semi-formed stool came out at first, the rest is liquid stool! No cramping or nausea, just wishes it would’ve worked faster!"

"Took this magnesium citrate at 5 pm yesterday as directed for my hemorrhoid PPH surgery prep. It finally started working at 1:45 am. I was nervous it wasn’t going to work, and I would have to cancel my surgery. I’m a fairly regular person, so I wasn’t sure how this was going to go. It’s not bad, though. No cramping or nausea. The urge does come on really quick, though. Luckily, I was awake."

For Constipation "After a week of straining to pass a bowel movement and only pooping small amounts, I decided to try MC. After reading reviews, I decided to drink 5.5 oz of the bottle. It made me nauseous after drinking it, but it went away after 20 mins. I had my first movement after an hour, and it was very relieving. About every 30 mins, I would have to go again. I pooped about a total of 5 times, with the amount getting smaller each time. I was afraid it would mess up my stomach, but I only had slight cramping before having a movement. I think it worked very well for my constipation."

For Constipation "I have been constipated for a week, due to the medicine that I take. Went to the doctor yesterday, and this was recommended: the magnesium citrate. I took this at 6:45 a.m. and had terrible stomach cramps and felt nausea. It really did not kick in until about 12 p.m. Now it has been 11 hours. I'm still going, and my stomach sides and back hurt, but I feel relieved. Drink plenty of water and don't forget to have wipes and ointment ready before you start."
