For Constipation "After a trip to the ER, days of different laxatives, suppositories, the whole works, I finally picked up this magical bottle. I had been constipated for almost a week and was pretty much willing to try anything. I read a lot of reviews saying this stuff works within minutes to an hour. I drank the whole bottle at 3 pm, and I felt my stomach churning with mild cramping, but still no bowel movement. Hours later, still nothing. I was convinced I was going to take another trip back to the ER. After 8 hours, I finally had my first bowel motion, and from there on out, my intestines just cleared out. So thankful for this medicine. Give it at least 24 hours to work, chances are it will."

For Constipation "I typically like to “cleanse” my system 2-3 times a year. I used to give in to all the marketing gimmicks and purchase costly cleanses that would last 7-14 days. Finally, a friend suggested this after I had a major surgery and was super constipated. It worked wonders! I had no cramping, and it cleaned me out within a couple of hours. I made sure to stay home, lay in bed, and made sure I had plenty of wipes and water available. After that experience, I will NEVER spend big money on a colon cleanse again! Can’t beat 99 cents for a 10 oz bottle of MC that does the same work as a 7-14 day cleanse."

For Constipation "I have to use opiates for pain and haven't been able to have a full bowel movement for months. I go number 2 once every 3 days, and then it's just little balls. The past few days, I've been getting cramps and being uncomfortable in my abdomen, so I decided to try this. I drank about 3/4 of the grape-flavored MC. I couldn't drink the full bottle since it was just straight-up gross tasting to me, and all the fluids were making me nauseous. I drank a full 16 oz bottle of water with it. Right after I drank all of the fluids, I felt like I was going to throw up and was extremely nauseous for about 20 minutes until it disappeared. I took this at around 10 pm, and I wasn't able to have a BM for the remaining time I was awake, so I ended up falling asleep. I woke up and had the biggest BM I have had in months. All the cramping was gone, and I felt so relieved. If you're backed up, I recommend this, but don't drink the full bottle unless you really, really have to."

For Constipation "Taking pain meds after having back surgery really stuffed me up for 10 days. After trying stool softeners and Miralax, I hit the web and found lots of good stuff about magnesium citrate. I took it around noon and drank 4 or 5 big cups of water within a few hours. It tasted kind of bitter, but it didn't make me gag or nauseous. After a few hours, I became pretty bloated, and it was not comfortable. I was starting to think it wasn't going to work until 3:30 am when I finally emptied out. Great stuff. Feel so much better. Worth a day of cramps."

For Constipation "I was taking this as my first step for a colonoscopy. As instructed by Dr., eat a light meal, which was a large bowl of light soup. I drank a whole bottle, nothing happened for 11 hours, was getting painful cramps, sat on the toilet and forced and forced, and finally got about 1 second of diarrhea. Very painful, still have poop inside of me. I have a colonoscopy in 26 hours. I am diabetic on insulin. I hope the colonoscopy prep works later when I drink it. Took off work 2 days."

For Constipation "Having opiate-induced constipation and on methadone, bowel movements are a commodity and a gift. On my fourth day of no pooping, I began to panic and read about MC. Went to the pharmacy, picked up the lemon-lime flavor brand of Citrodan. I actually drank half the bottle on the way home, and within 45 minutes, I was on the toilet excreting the most foul-smelling bowel movement I have ever had. The next few hours were a bit uncomfortable: gas, gurgling, running to the toilet, and some cramping. This stuff does what it is supposed to do with fervor and dedication. Be prepared and stay in. It's best to do it in the morning so you have all day to expel. Drink lots of water throughout the day and wash. It does smell bad coming out."

For Constipation "I drank a 10 mL bottle of the lemon-lime flavor at about 7:00 pm and had to spread it out because it made me nauseous, and I couldn't handle the taste. So I finished it at about 8:15 pm, and I had been sipping about 15-20 oz of water along with it. This has been a painful experience so far (it's currently 12:15 am). I have had intense cramping in my lower abdomen that makes me feel like I constantly have to poop. But I really have not been able to go a whole lot (when I do, it's pure liquid as many other reviews said), but it also made my stomach so upset and caused considerable nausea. So in between bouts of diarrhea, I was dry heaving/retching over the toilet, but no vomit so far. The pain is nearly unbearable, and I just wish it would stop."

For Constipation "Ok, friends. If you are reading this, I expect you are likely as miserable as I am right now, and I’m sorry. Whether you are still constipated, waiting for the floodgates to open, or sitting on the porcelain throne, pray for the gates to close… I feel your pain. If you are severely constipated and other things haven’t worked, this stuff will work. And work, and work, and work. I mean, really, I checked to see if I was pooping out my intestines at least three times during this process. It is 8:38 am, and I drank the whole 10 oz bottle mixed with a 33 oz Smart Water yesterday morning at 8:45. From 10 am to 1 pm yesterday, I had the WORST abdominal cramping I have ever had. It literally felt like contractions. Sweating, doubled over on the bathroom floor, felt like I was dying, then wished I was dying kind of pain. BUT THEN I finally pooped after nine days, and I pooped out a foot-long log that was clearly blocking the rest of my guts. Needless to say, it opened the gates. GOOD LUCK."

For Constipation "Been on pain meds for four months. Found out my stool was impacted. Took stool softeners and laxatives, no results. Drank one full 100 ml bottle of the grape flavor and oh buddy, the insides got to rolling. If possible, just stay on the toilet. I repeat, stay on the toilet. Still going 4.5 hours later but much less violently and not much cramping."

For Constipation "Started out with a severe UTI. Prior to that, movements were normal and regular. Think I got dehydrated, and since I have IBS, it doesn’t take a lot to throw off my system. So for two weeks, I was fighting this, but once the UTI was resolved, I still had this pressure/pain on my bladder/pelvic area. Doctor prescribed OTC Magnesium Citrate (1 10 oz bottle) along with a small bottle of Gatorade. I am not a fan of Gatorade, but she wanted to keep electrolytes in balance. Poured them together and sipped on this for about 3 hours. It took 8 hours to kick in, but I never experienced any stomach pains, cramps, or watery diarrhea, but wow, will it clean you out. Don’t plan on any out-of-your-home activities, you will regret it. Good luck, good health to all."

For Constipation "I have struggled with IBS-C for 16 years. You name it, I’ve tried it. Probiotics, magnesium supplements, fish oil, B complex, MiraLAX, enemas, and stool softeners. This product worked, but I was so severely backed up for 4 1/2 days due to stress and taking Ativan that it caused extreme cramping, profuse sweating, gurgling, and such extreme bloating I looked 6 months pregnant, and it was extremely painful. Several times I considered going to the ER, but I stuck it out. It took 11 hours to kick in and work for me and my digestive tract. It was completely miserable, and I really only recommend it in dire straits situations. I am hoping to get back on track and not have to use this product again for a very long time."

For Constipation "Okay... so I was in the hospital for parasites about a month ago, and ever since then, I have only had BMs if I take something. And even then, it's still difficult. My mom recommended this stuff to me. I drank about 3/4 of the 10 oz bottle at 3:30 pm, and I started exploding at 5 pm. If you need to go, it works. Only downsides I experienced are pretty bad nausea and cramping (comes and goes between movements), and the fact it's not an instant one-and-done relief... don't take this if you have plans and can help it. I'm gonna have a hard time at work in the morning..."

For Constipation "I couldn't have a bowel movement for 3 or more days, and it got stuck and hurt coming out, so I drank this magnesium citrate. It tastes very sour, but I think it's just because of the lemon flavor. However, it works, but made me feel nausea and cramps a few minutes after, and bloated as I am typing this. I still have side effects, and this is after drinking it, and this is 10 or 9 hours later. It works good, but I felt a lot of pressure, so I took two Tylenol pills before going and worked it smoothly."

For Constipation "This stuff is like your daily metabolism. If you eat rice daily, you will most likely have slow digestion, my stomach is Asian. So, most reviews say about 3+ hours, mine was 12 hours, and I ran to the toilet. My stomach was rumbling at various moments during the night, before and after sleep. I woke up with a mild cramp. Hours later, the magnesium citrate had created water and feces... bits of poop. Eat one meal that is chewed or even yogurt. I would not eat any other foods. Drink water for the other part of the day. [I drank 1 MC lemon bottle with juice]"

For Constipation "I have used this successfully on 3 separate occasions after getting constipated when taking pain medication. Just make sure to drink plenty of fluids before and after. This last time, I was poopless for 4 days. I drank half a bottle of berry-flavored MC 3 hours ago, and voila! No more constipation. I didn't have any cramping and was only mildly gassy. You'll know when it's coming, you'll feel the heat approaching your butt, and before you know it, you have been cleared. Good luck!"

For Constipation "After a trip to Urgent Care for pain and pressure, the doctor told me I needed to be cleaned out since she could feel an impaction in my abdomen. She told me to drink 10 oz the first day, and if I didn't get a clear liquid coming out, then I should drink half another 5-10 oz the next day. It took about 4 hours to work, and then....WOW! I was on the toilet a lot!!! It finally slowed down about 4 hours later, but I still had to go when I woke up the next a.m. Since I never passed clear water, I took 5 more oz 5 hours ago, and now it has kicked in. I'll just say the stuff works! I didn't pass a plug like others...mine has been like a faucet was turned on. No cramping or bad urgency, but you do have to stay close to home, and I highly recommend baby wipes!!"

For Constipation "I had been feeling bloated from constipation for about a week when I finally decided to buy a bottle of grape magnesium citrate. I had only intended to drink 1/2 a bottle, but my teenage daughter insisted that I was supposed to drink the entire bottle. Don’t know when she became a nurse at 16. But I, for some reason, listened to her very convincing words. At 1 pm, I downed the whole bottle. Within 30 minutes, I had the worst cramps ever. Shortly after, I found myself glued to the toilet. It’s now 5:30 pm with no signs of letting up. I’m probably gonna just be here forever now."

For Constipation "I first heard about magnesium citrate from my doctor after 5 days without a BM. I went to urgent care and got an X-ray to find that I had hard stool. She gave me a bottle, and it worked after 1.5 hours. It made me a bit nauseous and lasted about 6 hours after the initial dose. This last time around, I'd been stopped up about 3 days. I took the full 10 oz bottle, and it started working in 45 minutes. This time, however, I've had a lot of cramping and abdominal pain. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't been properly hydrated or a more serious problem. I've been steadily drinking water since, and it's been 2.5 hours since I drank the bottle. Hopefully, the cramps subside soon."

For Constipation "Welp, I have to say... this wasn't the worst experience I've had with a laxative. But it's definitely not pleasant. I, thankfully, did not experience severe cramping as a lot of other folks who have posted here have mentioned. Just a lot of rumbling and gurgling before the 'main act.' You should plan to set up shop in the bathroom for a few hours. Bring your laptop, tablet, or Kindle with you to keep yourself occupied. Definitely drink a lot of water; I alternated plain water and zero sugar Powerade. If you find you're having a hard time getting things moving, try a warm cup of tea (I'm partial to ginger tea, especially if I'm dealing with bloating and/or nausea). You could also try sitting in a warm bath, but you may end up pooping in the tub, so... maybe don't, if that sounds as unpleasant to you as it does to me. As others have said... do NOT trust a fart while this stuff is working its way through your system."

For Constipation "I drank a whole bottle at around 2 pm after realizing that I haven't been having regular bowel movements since moving to Hawaii a month ago. After about 5 hours, I began to have a nauseated feeling and some cramping, and right after, I experienced the first round of the meds working. It's now 10:34 pm, and I'm on my 4th run to the bathroom. I recommend taking this early in the morning so you're not up all night. But it definitely works!"

For Constipation "I have taken MC years ago after vomiting the cleanser given prior to colonoscopy. OMG, this was the best. Talk about a cleanse, wow! I remember cramping but felt sooo much better afterward. You must be near a bathroom, it worked pretty quickly for me. It was an all-night thing, but again, worth every minute on the toilet. So much relief! Yesterday, I spent all day in the ER due to severe sharp pains on my lower right side. I was thinking appendix. The ER took two CTs, one without contrast, one with contrast. It showed my blocked bowels. They sent me home with nothing except diet suggestions. Duh. I’ve been in bed still with this pain. Tomorrow, first thing in the AM, I’m taking MC. Hoping for relief again."

For Constipation "I had been constipated after giving birth for 3 weeks. I took stool softeners and I took flaxseed, and after 3 weeks I pooped, worst pain of my life! Worst than giving birth. After that, I thought it was going back to normal. But after 3 days, it happened again. I took Citroma this time, but all I got was a lot of bubbles in my stomach along with gas and cramps. No relief."

For Constipation "My doctor said I was constipated after I went to her and had horrible stomach pains. I took Miralax for a week straight, and nothing happened. I finally drank the magnesium citrate and had horrible cramps at hour 1. And then... nothing. I didn’t have any poop or pee or running to the bathroom like everyone else. I’m on round 2 a few weeks later, and maybe this will do something. Still have bad pain and barely poop, but the doctor says it’s just constipation."
