For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking it after my weight got up to 303 pounds. I'm 6'4' and have put on about 50 pounds over the past 10 years. I have taken it for two months and am down to 287 pounds. It took about two weeks to notice a difference in appetite, but once it kicked in, it really kicked in. The only side effect is occasionally feeling nauseous, but it doesn't bother me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was waiting a long time for Belviq to come out. It's been close to a week and I've lost over 6 lbs. Pretty impressive. Yes, I am dieting and exercising, but I am eating less. I just don't feel like eating anymore! I am hoping to lose 20 lbs in 6 months. I got a real good chance here. I don't feel any headaches or nausea like my doctor said."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I did have some significant side effects for the first two weeks, but I took only one pill a day for that time to get used to it. I am up to two a day now (recommended dose), and the side effects are gone except for slight nausea once in a while. I have lost 6 lbs in about 3 weeks. That is quite good for me as I am not very active. Busy but sedentary life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took one tablet in the morning and I was fine until the afternoon. In the afternoon, I had a debilitating headache and could not function. The pain spread to the back of my neck. I could hardly move. Then, to top it all off, I started feeling nauseous. I lay down on the couch and stayed still, but I still threw up."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5'4" and need to lose 50 pounds to get to a weight that I think I will be very happy with. I have been on Belviq for 2 1/2 weeks and have lost 8 pounds. I am eating much smaller portions because I feel full, thankfully, and the biggest miracle is that I don't have any cravings - even sweets! The first few days on it I was nauseous and feeling tired, but then that passed, and for the most part, I'm just achy. Particularly my lower back and knees. That's not necessarily unusual from time to time, but this is every day and more intense. I have had no headaches, mood swings, or feeling high that some people have reported. With my discount card from their website, in Atlanta, I pay $115 per month as my insurance does not cover any drugs like this. I'm excited and hope to continue the 3-pound-a-week loss - I'll take it! Good luck to everyone - it's certainly a journey!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "WARNING... NEVER STOP THIS MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. The side effects are extreme! I was on Belviq for 4 months and began having side effects of nausea, headaches, and overall just a weird feeling. I stopped the medication to see if that's what the cause was. A few days later, I had severe muscle tremors and spasms, loss of coordination, sweating, shivering, shaking, headaches, and a rapid heart rate. I thought I was having a stroke. Went to the ER. My blood pressure was 210/150! Unfortunately, every time I would have a withdrawal from this medication, I would experience these symptoms. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get this medication out of my body. I was confused a lot and had severe depression. I had all of the signs of serotonin syndrome."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 57-year-old female and I've struggled with weight loss for many years. I hopped on the scale almost a month ago and was weighing 201.5, the most I've ever weighed in my entire life. Super tired all the time, knees hurting, just knew I had to lose weight. I had tried many diets, lost a little bit, gained a whole lot back, the yo-yo thing. So I asked my doctor to prescribe me something so I can lose weight. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, so she prescribed me Belviq 10 mg, one pill twice a day. I haven't even been on it a full month and have already lost 12 lb, and my appetite has dropped drastically. There were a few little side effects the first few days: dizziness, light headache, and the first couple of days I was nauseous, but nothing I couldn't deal with. So all in all, I give Belviq 8 stars."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "As a former gastric bypass patient, I know all too well about the ongoing struggle to lose weight. I've suffered many complications from this surgery and actually regret having it done. I've gained roughly 60 lbs back of this original 130 I lost. After talking with my doctor, she recommended Belviq. I started taking Belviq on June 29, 2015. I weighed 240, and today I weigh 229.2. So that's a total loss of 11 lbs in 3 weeks. I've been walking and running and have completely cut out fruit juices and eating rice every day. I will warn you that I didn't take the pill for 2 days due to being out of town, and I experienced the worst nausea and headaches. I actually became dizzy in Walmart while shopping and had to sit down to gain my composure."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq on May 10th. I have lost 20 lbs since, today being 8/5. I wanted something to aid in my weight loss, being 200 lbs, 5'2", 52 yrs old. I asked about Contrave, but my doc suggested Belviq because of patient success. I had nausea and a headache for 3 days, but that went away. I also had a nagging cough for a couple of months, but that went away, also. The only other notable symptoms are occasional sluggishness and brain fog. I take two 10 mg pills a day. I know when the first one's wearing off because I do get hungry. It does curb my appetite really well, and I have to force myself to eat. I have the most success when I work out, too, and cut down on sugar and food intake, which Belviq aids in. I love it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started on May 14, 2015, ONE pill per day. Starting weight 187 lbs. Weighed yesterday, May 30, at 183 lbs. It may not seem like a lot, but considering I have hypothyroidism and I have not exercised at all, I think it is great! So happy! The first two days, the pills made me feel nauseous and tired and gave me a headache, but after the 3rd day, everything was great. NO side effects! I am going to see my doctor in a week and a half and will ask her to prescribe me the regular dose, 2 pills a day. My goal is 135 - 140 lbs. I still have a long way to go, but I am sure Belviq won't let me down."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had to sell my physician on Belviq. She was not 100% but came around and now refers to me as the guinea pig. Had rough side effects up front but pushed through them. Headaches, backache, constipation, and nausea to name a few. Lasted about 4 weeks. In the first week, I had to force myself to eat. I'm 9 weeks in and down 25 pounds. Realize I'm content on 1,100 calories. Using MyFitnessPal app. Worried about keeping it off like everyone else. At 41 yrs. old, I thought my metabolism was gone. This medicine is a game changer."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this 3 weeks ago, haven't seen much weight loss yet, but I feel full all of the time. Looking at food makes me nauseous. I have noticed my blood sugar has decreased dramatically, I may have to come off some of my diabetic meds, which is a plus. I'm giving my body time to lose the weight. Gradual weight loss is the best anyway."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Roughly two years ago, I weighed 120; gained roughly 100 pounds due to being lazy and eating when I was bored or stressed out. My doctor prescribed me phentermine 27.5 to take daily: HORRIBLE side effects like dry mouth, sick to my stomach, and insomnia throughout the whole time. Lost a lot of weight, but guess what? I regained it in a quick period. My doctor prescribed me Belviq because, unlike phentermine, Belviq is for LONG TERM weight loss. I'm about 4 days in without exercise and I haven't weighed myself (I will next week; I started at 214 lb) & I can say my cravings are gone and the amount I eat is smaller. All these people that are complaining want instant results, which that's not what Belviq is for."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Day 2 of using Belviq. Normally I have to eat breakfast within one hour of waking, or I'm nauseous and feel like there's a big pit in my belly. My hubby and I run a lot of errands daily and often hit up several stores throughout the day. I would have to buy snacks at every store. I noticed yesterday while in each store that I didn't even have the urge to get snacks, of course, I looked at them very briefly, but never touched them. I noticed so far I don't have an appetite until 5 or so hours after waking. I'm already a huge water drinker. I take one about 9 a.m. and 2 at about 6 p.m. Haven't weighed myself yet, starting weight was (is?) 229 lbs (5'4'). When I do eat, I get full much faster. Because I'm type 2 diabetic, I force myself to eat."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began this medication a few days ago, and it's been a Godsend thus far. My main problem in the past has been nocturnal eating. I'd wake up, barrel down to the kitchen and-whilst half asleep-devour PB&J, pasta, whatever-the-heck was in the fridge. That's gone. As a result, I've been sleeping through the night. I don't often feel hungry, and when I do, I control my portions with ease. No nausea or headaches yet. I felt a bit 'strange' my first day on it, but that may have been a result of not feeling hungry 100% of the time. I was also slightly lightheaded my second day; may have been a result of reduced caloric intake. I've yo-yoed a lot and finally feel that the monkey is slipping off my back. RECOMMENDED."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Absolutely impressed by this medication! After having two babies in a row and gaining 70 pounds, it's been a struggle to get the weight off. I lost weight on my own prior to Belviq, but I was stuck in a horrible plateau and could not move. I started Belviq at 205 lbs on September 21, 2014. Three weeks so far, I am down to 190, a total of 15 pounds. So excited! I finally found something that works for me. My side effects lasted for a few days: mild headache and nausea. Now, I just feel great all the time and super motivated to stay on track. My carb cravings are minimal, and I am honestly not hungry. Food now is just something I need to nourish me, not to obsess about. I am still healthy, staying within my calorie range by using My Fitness Pal."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Okay, so it has now been 8 days, and I have lost 10 pounds. I have been making much better choices with my meal plans, so this medication has worked better for me than phentermine. On 1/16/17, I weighed in at 181.00, and 1/24/17 @ 171.00. In the past 2-3 days, I have experienced minor headaches, and so ibuprofen 800mg took them away. Don't forget to eat about an hour before you do a cardio or weight workout. Yesterday, I ate only one full meal of steak and rice at 12:30 PM and drank a few protein drinks (Premier Protein). After working out, I tanned for 6 min, then I went to the steam room for 15 min and 5 min in the sauna. After that, I felt so nauseous that anything I could think of to eat made me want to throw up, but this medicine really works."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It works. I have lost 10 pounds so far. Starting week 4. I could have lost more if I could get my love of beer under control. The first few days were tough, serious nausea in the morning after taking the pill, also felt very mild depression and fatigue. Subsided in 2-3 days. Feel no side effects now. I still have an appetite but not as much as prior to starting Belviq. Breakfast: fruit. Lunch: small sandwich or salad (easily turn away from chips or sweets). Snack: apple. Dinner: salad or small meal. Staying under 1800 calories per day. I've been keeping a food journal, which has been eye-opening how many calories are in my daily intake. I feel like this will work for me, but will be a long process."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR on Oct. 5, 2018, at 214 lbs. Today is Oct. 17, 2018, and I weighed in at 208 lbs. As far as side effects, I have experienced some dizziness first thing in the morning, slight headaches every now and then, but nothing major that I can't tolerate. I've only experienced nausea twice. Now that I am past the two-week mark, the side effects are becoming unnoticeable. My appetite has decreased dramatically. I also notice that the medicine wears off between 10 pm and 11 pm, which is when I should be asleep, but I'm somewhat of a night owl. Overall, as of now, I am happy with Belviq RX and will continue it and hope for great results. I will be back at my one month with another update!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Belviq 9 days ago and am down 7 lbs! The weight flew off the first couple of days (probably water weight), but I haven't lost anything for the last three. I really attribute that to not eating well when I do eat the last few days, but I am eating less and less often. Gone are my desires to snack. I made a salad for dinner and will be taking more control of my diet again, so hopefully I will see some more weight loss soon! The first night I was nauseous and a little dizzy, but nothing too horrible. The next day, all of my side effects were gone. I still get a little dizzy or nauseous from time to time, but nothing too terrible. The biggest side effect is dry mouth, but that just forces me to drink more water."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I read hundreds of reviews, talked to my doctor about Belviq. He was very thorough with making sure I was healthy enough to take the med. I started day 1 yesterday (5/20/15). Within 2 hours, my appetite was completely gone. I was extremely nauseous. I was expecting to be tired, but not to the point of feeling so 'drugged and intoxicated' that I couldn't even barely move without the room spinning and vomiting. I had severe anxiety with this experience. I am not taking another dose. I will just be more self-disciplined to eat right and exercise more. In my opinion, anything that makes you feel so badly can't be healthy for your body. I'm very happy for those that it worked for!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Belviq XR in January 2017, had to stop for a month because I had a knee replacement and needed to take strong opioids, which don't mix, then went back on Belviq in March 2017. I have taken the drug for almost 5 months (two months a gap, then three months) and gotten over most of the side effects. The first two to three weeks both times were bad: extreme exhaustion and nausea, no headaches. Since then, I just get fatigued mid-afternoon and sleep about an hour more than pre-Belviq. I've lost about 25 lbs since I started, which is slow and steady, and plan to lose another 20 before I stop taking it. I do use the Belviq manufacturer coupon as my insurance does not cover the cost. The coupon cuts the cost in half. You can find the coupon on the Belviq website."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Belviq for 3 days. Most reviews I read prior to taking it had some nasty side effects listed. I am very sensitive to new things, and side effects almost always affect me. I have truly never written a review, but my side effects were so minimal it was worth writing. The first day, I was very nauseous and had a rapid heart rate. Day 2: slight nausea. Day 3: no nausea at all. It truly does keep you from feeling hungry. I do struggle with cravings and habit eating, so I have found myself still kind of binging the 1st and 2nd night, even when I did not feel hungry. Today, I had a protein shake and have not felt hungry all day. I will make myself eat dinner. I cannot speak for the weight loss yet, but I will update when I have enough time to see real results."

I also had a couple of moments of feeling nausea, not much though. Since then, I've been feeling great. I haven't had any more side effects. The very first day, I could only eat half of my meal. Just didn't want any more. This has helped curb my appetite tremendously! I have lost 3 lbs in my first week."
