For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today marks 1 month on Belviq and freedom from 24 pounds of fat! I am 5 feet 5 inches tall, 50-year-old female and started at 220 lbs. The first 24 pounds came off in the first 3 weeks. The weight loss seems to have slowed down this past week but I'm OK with that as I figured I could not continue to lose at that rapid pace. As for side effects, I did have a slight headache for the first two days but nothing Tylenol didn't handle quickly. The other issue I'm having is a very annoying cough. I read where that is a side effect for people with diabetes, which I do NOT have. I am assuming the cough is from the pills, but it is possible that I have a cold or allergy."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Three weeks in I've lost 14 lbs. My out-of-control appetite is in check, cravings for sweets have decreased. I highly recommend Belviq and am so happy I found it. The only side effect so far is coughing. I can live with that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq since April 9th, 2015. I'm down 20 lbs since then, maybe more! This pill has been so different for me, it is teaching me not to pick and snack after I've had my meals. I really try and watch my carb intake, and it's working. Also, weight seems to come off slow, and I guess that's a good thing! Only side effect is coughing, but it seems to be getting better! I love it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on B for about 2 weeks and lost 5 lbs. I'm not doing anything extreme diet-wise... eating calories based on BMR and plan to exercise more regularly next week. I've had a mild cough, fatigue, and body aches, but I hear it'll subside. It's worth it right now. I seem to have more awareness, self-control, and get full faster. I have hypothyroid, and losing weight was always hard for me, even with crazy programs and costly supplements. For the first time in forever, I feel in control of what I'm choosing! I know it will be a long journey, but I'm ready."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "5 days now. Free 2-week trial - why not! The 1st 2 days were horrible. My sleep is deeper, however, it is harder to wake up. I have noticed a cough, not bad, just annoying. I don't feel like my appetite is suppressed - I still eat 3 meals a day and sometimes a snack - however, I'm utilizing the 'Lose It' app - low-cal diet (approx. 1200/day) and doesn't seem too hard. I have STILL lost 2.6 lbs in 5 days. Usually, with a low-cal diet, you usually lose approx. 2 lbs/week. I noticed I was voiding a lot - so wondering if it was water weight that was lost - however, I am drinking more fluids, including water. I will continue to update! Have 50 lbs to lose. Will incorporate exercise next week!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Belviq for 1 week and 1 day. Day 1 was just awful. I felt 'stoned', dizzy, brain fog, tight chest, extremely tired. The positive: virtually instantaneous appetite suppression, and more than that - a feeling of satisfaction after eating only a fraction of what I normally ate. So I decided to play out the side effects and see if they went away. Each day was a little better than the last. By day 4, I was feeling mostly normal - more like a Benadryl fog than a stoned feeling now. Other side effects were a mild cough, some ear/jaw pain, sneezing fits, and general weirdness. It is mostly gone now, and I am down 3 lbs. Glad I stuck with it. I am in it for the long haul. I desperately want to be one of those before-and-after people!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq on May 10th. I have lost 20 lbs since, today being 8/5. I wanted something to aid in my weight loss, being 200 lbs, 5'2", 52 yrs old. I asked about Contrave, but my doc suggested Belviq because of patient success. I had nausea and a headache for 3 days, but that went away. I also had a nagging cough for a couple of months, but that went away, also. The only other notable symptoms are occasional sluggishness and brain fog. I take two 10 mg pills a day. I know when the first one's wearing off because I do get hungry. It does curb my appetite really well, and I have to force myself to eat. I have the most success when I work out, too, and cut down on sugar and food intake, which Belviq aids in. I love it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took it for a week. The first 2 days brought a headache, and then that resolved. I was also a bit nauseous those 2 days. I did notice that I had almost no appetite right away, so apparently it is effective for satiation. I had to stop taking it, though, because of the following: Cough started immediately and resolved the day after I stopped taking it. Dizziness and difficulty with balance. Deep sleep and trouble getting going in the morning, when the dizziness was worse. Sneezing and sore throat. Now, this may sound like maybe I just had a cold, but I didn't. I am a nurse, and I know the difference. Some difficulty with memory and concentration. Dry mouth, but that is no big deal. Another deterrent for me is that I can't take my migraine medication with it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my second day of Belviq. I have had no additional side effects except for some small coughing about 15 mins after I take the pill. I love this, as I previously tried Qsymia and absolutely hated the way it made me feel. When I eat, I feel full sooner than before. I also was able to walk by the bakery in the grocery store and not pick up a treat, even though it smelled quite delicious. I have observed it takes less to make me feel fuller! No complaints there. I have CVS Caremark prescription insurance and they approved my request for the medication. It comes to $50.00 a month. :). Whoop whoop! The pharmacy said I have never seen this approved. I will recommend if you have been denied in the past to try it again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started Belviq today. I took the pills at 9:30 am after breakfast. I started to cough, and I feel nauseous exactly after 2 hours. But I'm excited, nothing that I can't tolerate. I don't feel hungry at all, at least it is too soon to know. Need to mention that I plan to take one pill a day, and in the afternoon I will be taking 2 veggie capsules of Leptiburn."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am experiencing a major withdrawal or discontinuation syndrome from Belviq. For three weeks, I have had major anxiety, odd brain sensations, flu symptoms, numbness in my hands and feet, cough, earache... Just to name a few. I know that this syndrome is associated with SSRIs, but this seems worse than what I have read about. I'm wondering if the 'novelty' of this agent means that they just don't know what to expect when people go off of it. I feel really stupid, and I'm soooo sick of feeling this bad. Praying these symptoms stop."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Beware. Started this drug 6 days ago along with diet and exercise. I lost 8 lbs in 5 days. My side effects were severe cough, dizziness, headache, fatigue, and flu-like symptoms. On day 5, I didn't like how I was feeling. I decided to stop taking it. I didn't think it was worth waiting for those effects to go away, even if they did. My cough subsided quite a bit in such a short time. Today, day 6, the start of my second day without the pill, I awoke this morning, sat on the bed, and started to cough. I started to gasp for breath, and there was no air. Several minutes later, I was wondering why my eyebrow and cheek, along with my body, hurt. I opened my eyes and realized I blacked out and was lying face down on the wood floor. Run."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Belviq 10 mg a week ago. Number 1. None of the coupons I printed out gave me any cost reduction, and my health insurance would not pay any cost, so I'm out of pocket $280.00. Number 2. I'm 70 years young, weighed 196 lbs at 5'4'', obese. Number 3. Had terrible side effects the past week: headache, fever, body aches and pain, especially in my feet and hands, have developed a nagging cough and dizziness. It's been one week today, my feet are killing me, and I feel a bit feverish. Now I can at least get out of the house. Number 4. I weigh 192 lbs today. Number 5. So I will continue this journey one more week, if it continues with the side effects, I'll have to quit. Also, I'm very active, I take an accounting class twice a week, lift weights twice a week, walk 5 miles twice a week, and swim once a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I wish I was a success story, but after 3 months and an 11 lb weight GAIN, (375-386) I am off Belviq. I loved the beautiful sleep, vivid dreams, calmness, feeling full, less episodes of anxiety, overall happiness. I spent the first month with no change in my eating or exercise behavior. The second and third month with little to major changes in eating/exercise, and my 11 lb weight gain from the first month remained the same. I tried to convince my doctor to keep me on it for the overall positive effect it had on my life, but it was a no-go. Time to dig my heels in and put willpower in control. Side effects: I experienced each one that only lasted a half hour or so, each day. No biggie! Headache, cough, back pain, sleepiness."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq last night. I was told to take one 20 mg pill before bed. The reason is because my doctor said one of the side effects is being tired. Well, I barely slept 6 hours. I had opposite effects. However, I felt slightly dizzy, achy (even my hands hurt), and had cold-like symptoms. I don't know if the sneezing and coughing are a coincidence or a side effect. I have read it is, but I only had the one pill. We went to dinner tonight. After I ate, I got sick to my stomach and needed to lay down. I'm having the hardest time losing weight. I have been on a lot of different supplements. I'm not sure this is worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It has been approximately 3 months and I am down 12 lbs. The side effects are minor and well worth the loss of weight. Although the weight loss has been slow, I never felt deprived of food once. I plan to stay on it for a year as I have another 40 lbs to go. This pill definitely decreases my appetite. I have experienced a few headaches and yes, the coughing, but compared to having a heart attack from being overweight, I am fine with that. If you are overweight, I think you should give this medication a try for at least a month or two. Also, never felt jittery at all on this. The biggest downside is the cost. I think that is part of the plan - it costs so much that you can't afford food after paying for it. They offer a $75 off coupon."
