"I began this medication a few days ago and it's been a Godsend, thus far. My main problem in the past has been nocturnal eating. I'd wake up, barrel down to the kitchen and -- whilst half asleep -- devour PB&J, pasta, whatever-the-heck was in the fridge. That's gone. As a result, I've been sleeping through the night. I don't often feel hungry and when I do I control my portions with ease. No nausea or headaches - yet. I felt a bit "strange" my first day on it, but that may have been a result of not feeling hungry 100% of the time. I was also slightly lightheaded my second day; may have been a result of reduced caloric intake. I've yo-yoed a lot and finally feel that the monkey is slipping off my back. RECOMMENDED."

"I am a 56 y/o female who had gained approx 100 lbs in the last 10 yrs. . I was on phentermine which helped me lose 40 lbs. but then it stopped. I couldn't get under 208 lbs. I did my due research on Belviq and got a prescription. I had to jump through some hoops to get it approved but it has been well worth it. I've been taking it one week now and my appetite has decreased. The first few days I learned that I was still overeating even though I wasn't hungry- I am having to retrain my thought process that just because it tastes good doesn't mean I need to keep eating if I'm not hungry. As with any diet pill you still need to modify how you look at food- need vs want. Belviq is definitely the beginning of a beautiful journey!"

"I began taking Belviq 10 mg twice a day May 25, 2017. I have noticed that I am making better choices about the foods I eat, while not reaching for the sugary snacks after 7:00pm. As of today, August 8, 2017 I am down the required 5% that my insurance company requires to continue the medicine. I haven't found any noticeable side effects, mainly because even before I took this I was constantly fatigued due to life situation/stress. I went into this seeing people commenting about "Oh, I lost 20# my first month" but for me, that's not the case. I need the bump the medicine gives me to slowly lose the weight. No reason to rush it and I think because of that attitude, I'm more pleased with my results. Looking forward to next 12 weeks!"

"I started taking belviq twice a day faithfully , first week no change in appetite ,cravings or weight. Second week I felt like I gained weight still no change in appetite ,GAINED 3 LBS. So upset after spending $88.00,I abruptly stopped and made Dr. Aware. She never said to wean off. Within 2 days major withdraw, Had abdominal cramping, nausea and vomiting all night until I took another pill. Then decided for the next 4 days to slowly wean off which I did. This is a strong as medication. Don't stop abruptly! Didn't work for me."

"I started Bleviqs last night. I was told to take one 20mg pill before bed. Reason is because my dr said one of the side effects is being tired. Well I barely slept 6 hrs. Had opposite effects. However, I felt slightly dizzy, achey (even my hands hurt) and cold like symptoms. I don't know if the sneezing and coughing are a coincidence or a side effect. I have read it is, but I only had the one pill. We went to dinner tonight. After I ate, I got sick to my stomach and needed to lay down. I'm having the hardest time losing weight. I have been on a lot of different supplements. I'm not sure this is worth it."

"For the person talking about the cost. My Doctor gave me a coupon (more like an insurance card). I registered it while sitting at the pharmacy and a few hours later I was in the data base. It went from somewhere around $320.00 to $80.00. It seemed to offer reduced costs for insured or uninsured people."

"I just started the drug three days ago. I did have headaches although it may have been from sugar withdrawal fatigue was a issue. I am still hungry but I watch what I eat. The drug allows a fullness much quicker. I have had a gasto by pass 20 years ago. I feel it's helpful. I will write my progress"

"I am on day 4 of taking belviq. I am currently only taking one pill a day because I forget to take the other pill. I am down 6.4 pounds with minimal side effects. I am very pleased with the results so far and excited to see the future results. My only problem is the cost of the pills. My insurance did not cover the medication but I did use the discount card from the manufacturer. I paid out of pocket about $90.00"

"The drug works. I needed to exercise. Without exercise I experience headaches and weird dreams. But when I get out and walk, I feel much much better and the weight comes off faster to. I went from 265lb down to 195lb and my enthusiasm for walking and finally hitting the gym, increased. I lost all the cravings and especially the feeling that I'm hungry all the time. That helped me get started. Then eating very little each day and exercising is the key. HOWEVER, don't stop taking the drug cold turkey. I did that, and I turned lethargic and my hunger and cravings for fast food, doughnuts, ice cream and sugary drinks hit twice as hard and I gained back 85 pounds. Now I have to start all over."

"So, I started Belviq a few weeks ago. I sometimes had headaches but nothing a few advil wouldn't cure. It took about 2 weeks for the medicine to start working. You have to be patient and remember this is a serotonin drug, it affects the serotonin in your brain which controls hunger and feeling of fullness. Its just like when you take medicine for depression, anxiety, OCD, they take time to work. I was very surprised I did not have any side effects to speak of because I am super sensitive to medication. I am less hungry and I do not find myself thinking of food all the time. I have lost 4 pounds thus far and am hoping to continue losing weight."

"I've been on Belviq for 3 days and have felt nothing. I haven't felt the urge to eat less nor any side effects. Anybody want to share and let me know when I would start to feel something. Thanks"

"The first two days of being on Belviq were rough but after that I knew right away it was worth it. My insurance does not cover it but with the coupon it is $80. I did not get a refill thinking I would be fine without it but my weight loss has stalled and I am back to eating how I was before hand even tho I'm trying not too. My starting weight was 201 and my current weight after one month of taking it is 183 without exercise since I was healing from surgery! I just refilled it and will start going to gym with my next paycheck!"

"I will be starting belviq Sunday due to some of the comments saying make sure to start and stop when nothing is going on! (I have a big event Saturday) but I am posting because of the price. I went online printed the coupon filled out all the info etc before using the coupon it was $88 out of pocket even with my insurance paying their part. With the coupon at CVS and Cigna HMO I paid $0 for mine. So just FYI on the price! Looking forward to this. Phentermine worked the 1st year I took it and now it does nothing but spike my BP so I'm hopeful this will help as I change my diet and exercise"

"The bad news. The side effects are tough. First... the first week you will have bad side effects. But they do wear off. I would give it two weeks no matter what. Also, I forgot to get a refill and went two days without it and I was very very very sick. Nausea, heartburn, headache, head cold, anxiety. I am a space cadet at work. It is affecting my work. The good news I have lost steady more than I expected and I have no desire for sweets or "binging" like I normally might. It almost feels like there is a disruption in your mind where the hunger thoughts are. My recommendation is to take it for short term bouts. (perhaps when you are first starting a diet). And be sure to start and stop when nothing important is going on in your life."

"Well I wrote my review (see below) too soon. I had only taken it that day and did not go through a full 24 hour period. This medicine is hell!!! I had horrible nightmares like I've never had in my life then the headache came back like someone hit me with a 2x4. I was a COMPLETE ZOMBIE the next day. The worse!!! No Belviq you are doing it wrong!!"

"First let me tell you if you go on belviq.com site and print coupon make sure you do all the steps. You have to just call into an electronic response system, not a live person. For me that made a difference because I didn't want to talk to someone else about my weight. Anyway I'll be honest, I've had this medicine for two months and today is the first day I've taken any. I've taken weight loss medicine before years back (of course not this kind) and it changed me in a bad way. So I finally tried this today and only had a very mild headache earlier and now it's gone. It's helped my appetite so far! I'm so glad. I just wish I would not have waited these past two months to try it!"

"I have been using Belviq for about two years. I went from 190 down to 165, and then it just stopped helping me lose. The price is so very high and even though I use a coupon and go to Walmart, each month was a hassle with the pharmacist as to what discount, if any, I would be able to get. I never heard of $25.00 per month with a voucher!! I need to know where to get a voucher like THAT! The last time I tried to use a company coupon, Walmart told me that it was no longer valid. I've never gone back, even thou I have a prescription. While I was on it, I noticed that my weight was no longer dropping, even tho I was eating the same. Without a coupon, I won't be buying it any more....but where can I get a voucher and pay $25.00??"

"This is the first day on Belviq XR so I haven't been able to notice much of a change in my eating lesser. I didn't experience any headaches or nausea. Actually had a little more energy. Now I've just did 3 months on Phentermine 37.5 mg and I went from 282 lbs to 251 lbs(without exercising much) I wanted to continue the phentermine. But my doctor said 3 months is the limit. He suggest I try Belviq since you can remind on Belviq longer. I am 5'10' and current weight is 251 lbs. My goal is too get down to 190 lbs and I am very optimistic in reaching this goal."

"At first I wasn't sure about this drug and then found out how much it would be $250 month yea right after being a single mom now but got it for only $25 a month with voucher. After taking it for 4 months I have lost 45 pounds on top of working out and eating habits have changed a lot. I do want to be positive with people but I have no sympathy with some comments on here that say I just took the pill it didn't work..... of course just taking a pill wont work its not a miracle pill. You need to workout and start eating much healthier on top of taking the medication. If you are obese like I was you need to have the healthy habits first I think and then take the pill. I lost 70 pounds on my own and AFTER took the pill more"

"I have been on belviq for exactly 2 months now. I am a 43 year old male, but was starting to feel like I was 75+ years old. In 2 months, I lost 42 lbs, and am averaging about 1.5 lbs every 2 days. I was 329 lbs at the start and already can feel the difference. Along with belviq, I changed my eating habits, and although I have not started exercise yet, (gotta drop some more before I start that) I feel like a new person. I can do things like go up a flight of stairs without losing breath. Something I couldn't do before. I read a lot of people having different success or no success with this drug, but I thank my doctor for allowing me to try this, and not do the bypass surgery he had originally wanted to do. Good luck to everyone."

"Just started on Belviq this morning. I'm 5'2" and weigh 227 lbs. I used to take Adipex after I gave birth to my kids and lost 68 lbs. My body got used to it, so my doctor prescribed Belviq. I'm not as jittery as I felt when I was on Adipex, but I do have the dry mouth ( as if I were dehydrated). So far this morning I've only had a cup of coffee, a cup of hot lemon water with apple cider vinegar. I'm about to have a piece of toast with peanut butter. My doc says to eat something even if I'm not hungry. I'll update in a week."
