For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started the pill, and the first day was super wacky and dizzy. After the 10th day, I discontinued. I had gained weight; had water weight but was dehydrated; had blurred vision; dizziness, headache, backache, and joint/muscle aches; couldn't complete a sentence; chills, shakiness, vivid dreams; couldn't drive; extreme fatigue and disassociation. I think I had serotonin syndrome. I was not successful on it, but the patient insert was helpful, and I realized I needed to get off of it. After stopping taking it, I started feeling better by the hour. Now, two days late, every symptom has gone away. I have about 40 lbs to lose. I am happy for those who found success with Belviq but wanted to post my experience for those who are having trouble."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "WARNING... NEVER STOP THIS MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. The side effects are extreme! I was on Belviq for 4 months and began having side effects of nausea, headaches, and overall just a weird feeling. I stopped the medication to see if that's what the cause was. A few days later, I had severe muscle tremors and spasms, loss of coordination, sweating, shivering, shaking, headaches, and a rapid heart rate. I thought I was having a stroke. Went to the ER. My blood pressure was 210/150! Unfortunately, every time I would have a withdrawal from this medication, I would experience these symptoms. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get this medication out of my body. I was confused a lot and had severe depression. I had all of the signs of serotonin syndrome."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR yesterday. Took my first pill at 9 am. I realized at noon that I hadn't had my normal daily healthy snack and that I wasn't hungry for lunch. I did eat lunch at 1:30, but only a few bites and I lost all interest. I felt a little dizzy later in the afternoon, so I had some carrots and had to force my dinner down later and ate 3/4 of it. Never did I feel hungry all day. I can see, with this pill, you have to force yourself to eat. I had absolutely no cravings yesterday for anything. I did get cold later in the afternoon, which I'm never cold. And my skin got tingly, like I put icy/hot on it. Other than that and a little lightheadedness, I had no other side effects. Will update again at the 1-week mark."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have started Belviq a couple of days ago, and so far, so good. I noticed it gives me so much energy that I didn't have before, and I don't think about food as much. Also, it is curbing my appetite, and it's keeping me from overeating. So far, so good, and the only side effect is getting chills."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember (I am 35). I have taken every weight loss pill you can think of!! My starting weight today, Feb 15, 2017, is 194 and I'm 4'11! Today is my first day on Belviq, I take 1 pill twice a day. Side effects: chills, metallic taste on my tongue, and a slight headache. When I ate lunch today, I could only eat half of my food, and I'm not starving when I get off work like usual. I must also mention that I am PMSing, and usually, I'm eating everything pasta and fried related, but I'm not craving it. From reading the reviews, I was worried about not having energy to work out, but I had the energy! What I have also done is I have started B12 injections. I will report my weight soon!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started Belviq 4 days ago. Other than chills in the evening (which I don't mind since I live in hot, muggy Florida). I get headaches that last for a very short time and go away. Dry mouth is constant, but drinking lots of water takes care of that. It is too early to know if weight loss will occur or when, but I do notice I forget to eat. That is always a plus. Good luck to everyone and to myself. I am excited to see what the future holds."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Day 3 of Belviq, appetite curbed. Down 2 pounds. As far as side effects, I am experiencing extreme fatigue, thirst, and cold chills. Hopefully, they will pass within a few weeks. Had to pay $130, so I am going to give it a fair try. So far, it seems to be doing what it should. Now, if I can get over being so dang tired."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 4'11", 188 lbs. I was given this prescription about 3 months ago: Belviq 10 mg, 2 x a day, and I just filled it yesterday. I used the coupon and paid $88.00, which was better than the $300.00. Today is my first day, and after the 2nd dose, I have a bad headache and some chills. I have been reading the reviews, and some noticed side effects went away after 3 days, so I am being optimistic. I haven't been hungry today, but I have made myself eat. I will post more in a week. Keep me in your prayers :-)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm Cheway69. Whoever read my post, just a reminder I started on 5/8/15, and today 5/25/15. It was terrible, terrible the first week, headache, so tired. It was like someone beat me up or like very sore. It's like I lifted weights for 10 hours. The result losing only 3 lbs only, I couldn't believe it. By no means is my appetite better, eating good and healthy food, but not enough to be happy with the result like everyone is talking about. Maybe I need to wait a little longer. Sometimes my balance is off, like how people walk when they are drunk. My memory is not that good by using this Belviq, I forget a lot, nothing changed in my life to affect my memory. I blame this product. Oh, also I'm shivering and cold a lot, most of the day. In 2 weeks I'll post more info."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Another update: I have officially been on Belviq XR for 1 month. I am down 10 pounds. I am watching what I eat and going to the gym 3X per week. (I've been doing the gym for about 2 1/2 weeks now.) I felt like the pill isn't lasting as long as it was: I was feeling hungry at night. So my Dr. has now switched me to the regular Belviq 10 mg 2x daily. Took that first pill this morning. I feel a tad nauseous, like I wish I hadn't eaten breakfast (which was small). The only side effects I experience are: I'm cold all the time, super thirsty, and occasional constipation. All things that I can handle. I have high blood pressure, but my blood pressure has gone down this past month! I see the Dr. again in a month and will update then."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Well... I read the bad reviews but decided to take it anyway. BIG MISTAKE! I realize not everyone has had these effects, but I’m sharing what I went through. Day one: very foggy-headed, dizziness, and nausea. Day two: I was overwhelmed with extreme fatigue and still dizzy, foggy-headed, nausea, plus a really bad headache. Day three: took Advil with it and no headache, not as foggy, still a little dizzy and nauseous, but no more than if I had a mild ear infection. Manageable. Day four: I noticed hot flashes and chills... weird. But I’ve not been hungry at all, and the previous symptoms are now quite manageable. I feel like I’ve got a grip on things now. I’m ok. Day five: I start feeling agitated. I feel extremely insecure. Day six: I can’t stop crying, why am I crying so much? Still extremely agitated and so incredibly insecure. Still not hungry. Day seven: Depressive dark thoughts. I’m done!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Belviq works great for an appetite suppressant. I experienced a little dizziness and a couple of first days I had slight chills. (? - could be coincidental) But 2 times I took it with Allegra-D and had a horrible headache - the kind where you think you might puke... migraine status. I truly believe it was just the combination of the pseudoephedrine and the Belviq. I've never had a headache when I take it with Benadryl. (I have bad spring allergies)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "155 pounds, 5'2", 36-year-old female, high blood pressure. BMI 28, and the doctor recommended Belviq. Day 1, extra energy, no hunger, slight insomnia. Day 2, slight headache, no hunger, chills. Day 3, slight headache, no hunger, some chills, hot flashes. Day 4, diarrhea, my legs started hurting, no hunger. Day 5, slight headache. Day 6 took a turn, a bad turn. Last day I took the medication. Almost threw up when I got out of bed. Had to lay on my bathroom floor to prevent fainting. I was foggy, memory problems all day. No hunger. In the PM, a sore throat started. Day 7, very sore throat, lethargic. By that night I couldn't swallow my own saliva. Red sore mouth/throat, a side effect. Day 8, my throat was so swollen I couldn't speak, I had sores in my mouth. Went to urgent care. They gave me a steroid shot to reduce throat swelling. They said my heart was racing. Tested negative for strep. Day 8, down to 148 pounds. Ate healthy, kept calories around 1300. Ran 3 miles 3 days. Did I lose weight? Yes, but at the risk of being poisoned. Will not continue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am providing an update: I'm on week 3 now of my pill. In the beginning, I was NEVER hungry. Never had a hunger pain, had to remind myself to eat. After about 2 weeks, I noticed that I was having some hunger pains, like the feeling of being full wasn't lasting very long. I've also gained weight. I started Weight Watchers, so I'm not sure what weight loss is attributed to what. My first 2 weeks (which I wasn't on WW), I had only lost 2 pounds. I'm not going to lie, I am a tad disappointed. After reading some of the reviews, I was hoping to have lost more. I'm not giving up yet though - my doctor said we have 3 months to give it a try. The only side effects I have now are that I'm cold and I'm constantly thirsty. I'll post again in 2 weeks."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Belviq for 3 weeks and have lost 3 lbs so far. No headaches, but I get the chills, and my body is very achy, I feel like I have the flu. I crave everything! I don't think I've eaten this much in years! I am also very tired, I want to take a nap all day! I will finish the bottle, but for $83, I need to see more results."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took first pill yesterday. Noticed almost immediately no appetite. Got a hummus wrap for lunch & couldn't even eat half of it; I can usually eat the whole thing. Dinner I ate the other half then took 2nd pill. Now as I write this almost 14 hours later after that 2nd pill, I wish I had never taken it & won't take it again. Last night, chills. My arm tingled all night long & thought it was signaling a heart attack. That thought caused me a lot of anxiety & I could not sleep well. Got up twice during the night to go to the bathroom & had to hold the wall all the way there as my legs and back were in severe muscle pain. This morning, had a hard time dragging myself out of bed. Most meds seem to react fully on me. I cannot take Belviq."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Used this for a month and did not lose any weight. I read some reviews and did not go through any of the symptoms I saw. I gave it 2 stars because I did notice it suppressed my appetite a little. I refilled and gave it another shot, but the next month was more of the same. Went off it a few days, maybe a week, and this morning I took one... Holy crap, I feel like an ice cube. Never been this cold in my life and also been in the bathroom all day with #2 imitating a faucet. I can honestly say, as soon as I get out of this bed, the rest of them are going in the trash. Worst $190 (2 months with discount card) I have ever spent on a weight loss gimmick. Now back to the meal plan and lots of exercise."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took Belviq 2x a day about two years ago. It did give me a headache, tiredness, cold symptoms, but they went away after a few weeks. I lost 45 lbs., which I loved. I am back on the Belviq XR, once a day. This one did not give me as many side effects. I did get a little headache and chills, but it seems to be going away. I am on my 5th day. No loss of appetite yet, but I am optimistic because I know it worked before. I do Zumba 3 to 4 times a week, so exercise is not the answer for me, it's eating less so I am watching what I eat and using myfitnesspal app. It costs me $98 now because the prices went up. Good luck to everyone. I say do not give up, just be patient!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've taken Belviq for approximately 1 week. I feel the same, and the only side effects are drinking a lot of water and being tired by 9 pm, which is highly unlike me. I get up at 6 am yet still feel tired and wanting to sleep more. I haven't changed what I eat, my portions are less, and I can eat sweets in moderation instead of gorging! I've lost exactly 4 lbs as of this morning. No exercise, no headache, no fatigue once I'm up for the day, no nausea, no dizziness, nothing like that. However, I get chills and cold. No big deal, I just add layers. So here are my takeaways: drinking a lot of water is good, 8 hours of sleep is good, and cold actually tends to burn more calories than being hot. I can live with this, my fear is it eventually becomes ineffective. Also, for the first 3-4 doses, I did notice a bit of a tingly itch, nothing so bad and no hives. Then it just stopped as my body realized there was no danger, apparently."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq after coming off of Phentermine, and I have also had gastric sleeve weight loss surgery 17 months ago. The first 2 days, I was so exhausted and chilled I could hardly move. It has helped decrease hunger, and I eat less now but haven't lost any weight, still maintaining a 131 lbs weight loss but need to lose more. But last night, I noticed I was producing milk. I have now read up that can be a side effect. I go to my gyn tomorrow and will know more, but I'm pretty freaked out!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is my first day taking Belviq at 5' and 163 lbs. My goal is to lose 40 lbs. My mom tried one of the pills yesterday and felt headache, dry mouth, body aches, and chills for a short while. She noticed her appetite was definitely suppressed. Today is my first day taking it (once a day), and I had a couple of seconds of chills, and that's it, no other side effects. My appetite definitely hasn't been suppressed, but I'm hoping that within a few days, I will see some changes in appetite and some weight loss."
