Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I started taking Vyvanse 2 weeks ago, and it has helped with my focus, patience, anxiety, and depression. My doctor tells me I have a mix of ADD/ADHD, so he prescribed me 50 mg. I am worried, though, about all of these side effects I have been hearing about that could happen. The only side effects I have gotten are bruising easily and loss of appetite, in which I force myself to eat because I end up feeling like I will pass out. Other than that, I highly recommend Vyvanse!"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm a 22-year-old female who was diagnosed with ADHD inattentive subtype following my freshman year of college. I've been taking Vyvanse for 3 years now (initially 30 mg, now 50 mg) and finally feel like I'm living up to my potential. For the first time ever, I am able to stay organized, complete tasks, and actually show up on time! My only complaints are lack of appetite throughout the day (ravenous at night) and the desire for a cigarette for the first 2 hours after it 'kicks in' (never crave one when I'm not taking Vyvanse)."

For ADHD "It will put you into an extreme state of focus for around 10-14 hours. You’ll be consumed by whatever you’re doing. Your appetite will be close to non-existent. Here is what else you can expect: a complete silencing of your mind’s 'racecar track' of a thought pattern, or our non-stop 'noise,' as I like to refer to it. Due to this calming of your mind, you will feel more at peace, and, in my experience at least, become a more friendly, less irritable, anxious, and depressed person. Not only will you experience calmness of the mind, but of the body as well. When I’m not medicated, I will fidget with any and everything, flick my fingers and toes together, bite my nails, shift, and feel very restless. Yet when I'm medicated, I can remain still for hours at a time. So if you have been dealing with the issues I talked about above, seek treatment if it’s affecting your life too negatively. People who don’t tend to have a less aggressive form."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My 11-year-old daughter started Vyvanse 5 months ago when she was diagnosed with ADHD. Her doctor keeps increasing her dosage-we've gone from 20 to 40 mg, but I am not really seeing a difference. Her appetite has dropped, but we find that feeding her well in the mornings and evenings has helped. She is having problems with friends at school, and we have noticed that she is incredibly bossy. She has been argumentative with everyone around her lately."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am a 33-year-old male. I started taking Vyvanse yesterday, and it is the first medication that I have ever taken for anything, really. I was a B student in school because I refused to do homework. I couldn't concentrate enough to motivate myself to do it, and I suffered in college for it. Now I manage restaurants. I am happy with that choice, but lately, as pressures from work seemed to increase, I chose to see a psychiatrist to help me complete tasks. I am taking 50 mg a day, I usually wait until noon to dose since I work until 1 a.m. most nights. So far, so good, a little jittery, but it is new to my system. Slight loss of appetite, but nothing that concerns me. I am happy with my choice so far."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am a 32-year-old. I have been on Vyvanse for about 2 weeks now, and I love it. I have never been diagnosed with ADD, and about 2 months ago, I was given Strattera first. I hated that. My doctor switched me to 30mg Vyvanse, and the first day, I noticed a difference. It lasted me about 10-12 hours. My appetite went down a little, but nothing too bad. Other than that, there are no other side effects for me. I would definitely recommend Vyvanse."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am a 25-year-old woman. I've been on Vyvanse for about 1.5-2 years, and I have had a great experience with it. I've always been a bright student and done pretty well in school. I got by in high school but found myself struggling in college. I got diagnosed with ADHD, tried Strattera, and tried Concerta to no effect. A new doctor suggested Vyvanse. I started at a 30 mg dose, and I'm up to 70 mg a day, but I have been steady on that dose for at least a year. It has decreased my appetite, but I also started P90X not long after I started taking this drug, so I'm not sure which is more responsible for my weight loss. Besides that, no real side effects, it just helps me focus and concentrate on whatever I am supposed to be doing (and not just daydream)."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am a 42-year-old male recently diagnosed with adult ADHD. I started on Dexedrine, but I had to pop a bunch of pills 4 times a day, which was not convenient. My doctor recommended Vyvanse, saying it's the same thing but one a day. I am currently on 100 mg of Vyvanse combined with 300 mg of Wellbutrin and am definitely more alert and able to focus more during the workday. However, I have severe bouts of nausea, loss of appetite, and weight (not unwelcome). The medicine wears off by the evening, so insomnia is not an issue. I don't like the price of the drug (even after my drug plan), and after discussing it with my doctor, I was asked to pop a 60 mg pill in the morning and a 40 mg a couple of hours later. I will see if that helps my nausea."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 20 yrs old and I have been taking Vyvanse for about 2 years now. I take 60mg about the same time each morning, and it really does wonders in helping me concentrate and getting everything done both at home and school. I've noticed a BIG difference in myself on the days I do take it and on the days I don't. Only side effects are the loss of appetite, headaches from not eating (from the loss of appetite), dry mouth, irritability, and now I have depression. Don't know if I should lower my dosage now or maybe it's from another cause."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 16 and was recently diagnosed with ADD. I find Vyvanse extremely helpful for the first 6 hours, and then as I come off of it, I often have a depressive mood swing for about an hour. I have been trying other medications, but Vyvanse works the best for me (except for the mood swings). I am almost never hungry. I have lost about 22 lbs in 2 months. It's important to keep a regular eating schedule. I continue to try different medications, but this one has extremely changed my life for the better in school and in social settings."

For ADHD "I have been taking Elvanse 40 mg for 4-5 weeks now, and it has honestly changed me for the better. Everyone around me has noticed a positive change. My bosses have said they have seen a different me. I was taking Concerta 18 mg and 30 mg, and it did not do a thing. Elvanse 40 mg was magic, but after not too long, I did notice that it was not as effective, so I spoke to my psychiatrist, who agreed to move up to 50 mg. I have nothing negative to say about this. The side effects I get are increased heart rate at times and less appetite (you have to tell yourself to eat, and even a few mouthfuls are better than nothing). I can sleep well, I can even nap in the day! I'm happier and less agitated. I rate this 10/10."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "It helps a lot with paying attention. On 30 mg once a day, and it works up until about the 7th-8th hour (5 hours after taking it), and for me suppresses my appetite, so I don't care if I eat or not. Stomach still rumbles though. No other ill effects. I would recommend it. No jitteriness, as with other stimulants such as Ritalin/Focalin. I feel much more like myself than on other medicines."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am a 17-year-old female who was diagnosed with ADD about 9 months ago. I had mainly B and C grades, I was scatterbrained, easily distracted, and extremely messy. Since I started Vyvanse at 30 mg, I have bumped up to 40 mg, and I have no complaints. I have all A and B grades, I can focus on my schoolwork, and get things accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. The only criticism I have is the fact that it caused me to go from messy to borderline OCD. However, I like cleaning, and I see it as a plus side to the medication. As is usual for ADD and ADHD medicines, I experience easy mood swings, sudden outbursts of anger, loss of appetite, and lack of sleep. However, overall, I am extremely pleased as a high schooler who was struggling."

For ADHD "I'm a 21-year-old female and was just diagnosed with adult ADHD inattentive type. Looking back, I have had it my entire life. The diagnosis was truly a relief. Now, comes finding the right medication. Insurance wouldn't approve Vyvanse unless I tried another stimulant first. So, I tried Adderall IR. I was excited to try Vyvanse and even paid $260 for it, hoping it would be worth it. I have been taking it for a few days now, and it feels nothing like Adderall. I expected it to help me in the same way that Adderall did, but just for a smoother, longer time period and without the side effects. I feel really out of it, fuzzy, and noticeably fatigued, especially the first few hours after I take it. I am more distracted than focused, have a much harder time comprehending things and gathering my thoughts, loss of appetite, nausea. It also makes me feel kind of numb and empty, and much more irritable at times. Overall, I do not enjoy the experience of it."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 21 and currently suffering from ADD and depression. The Vyvanse has done wonders for me! I can finally concentrate. I do feel as though I have absolutely no appetite, but it doesn't bother me because I don't eat much anyway. Things are finally looking up. I'm on 20 mg."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My son has been taking Vyvanse for about a year now, 70 mg, but he was on other medications before this, and although they helped, we had moved, and the new doctor did not want to prescribe him anything but Vyvanse. After some research, I actually found that Vyvanse is one of the best for ADHD. The only side effects he has had were loss of appetite and insomnia, but he is taking something to help him sleep, and he eats well in the morning before he takes his medicine. He just doesn't like eating lunch, so I bribe him: if he wants to go play games, he must eat a snack, just like an apple or something. No more weight loss, just a steady weight now. School has become so much easier for him, with grades, and the teachers see a great change in him."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I have been taking this medicine for over two years now, and when I first started taking it, it turned my life around. I'm a senior in high school now and a high honors student, and I credit my success mostly to the medication. After taking the 70 mg dose for a long amount of time, I have noticed that the benefits of the pill have decreased. Now, the medicine wears off within five hours of taking it, compared to before when it would last all day. I do not feel as focused as I used to while taking it, I do not feel the loss of appetite anymore, and I am becoming more forgetful."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I've been taking Vyvanse for a couple of months, and I've learned that the first couple of weeks taking the medication is really the hardest when it comes to side effects. I suffered from dry mouth, loss of appetite, headaches, some but very few mood swings. As far as sleep, I crash at the end of the day, which can be due to this medication. I am irritable every now and then, but before, I was very frustrated with everyday activities. It gives me energy for the most part. I'm not shaky or nervous like I was on Adderall XR. I haven't lost a ton of weight on Vyvanse, unlike Adderall, which I lost 60 pounds on within 4 months."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 26 and started taking classes again. I was diagnosed with ADD at 9 and was off and on Adderall and Ritalin through high school. I would always take it in the morning of school days and not take it on weekends. I'm on 70 mg Vyvanse now, I've been on it for 3 months. I like it because it suppresses my appetite the least of the 3 medicines. I'm getting concerned though, because with school and work I will take 2 a day sometimes. But I still don't take it on non-work or school days, but my concern is I think I am feeling withdrawal effects. I took it 12 days straight between 70 and 140 mg a day, and the first day I didn't take it I couldn't get out of bed and felt depressed and had no motivation. I'm on day 2, and my brain feels like mush."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm a 16-year-old female and was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 6. I was on Ritalin, then something else, then Concerta, and it was hard. I had major depression, lack of sleep, lack of appetite, and the ability to feel any emotion was gone. Yes, I'm an A student, but I was not happy, so I tried Vyvanse. It doesn't last as long, but I am happier. I can feel emotion now, and I'm still getting A's and B's."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I have tried every AD(H)D pill known so far. I started in grade 4 and went off them in grade 7. I am weird as far as medicine goes, and it never worked as intended. Side effects for other pills were things such as no free will, not remembering anything that I did for 3 years, no control of self-awareness or recollection of my actions, fainting or passing out without warning. I went off the pills in grade 7 due to mental and physical health issues and concerns. I decided to take the pills again because I need them to graduate. I started on Vyvanse. It is 1000 times better than any other pill that I have tried over the years. The biggest problem is lack of appetite (went 26 hours without eating without realizing it). I started on 80 MG by mistake."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "We couldn't be more pleased with this medication. My 9-year-old son was previously on Concerta and Metadate CD. Although those medications were effective, Vyvanse has greatly outperformed both. The most significant side effect has been lack of appetite. We encourage a late meal so that he can make up for what he has missed throughout the day. His weight seems to be holding steady following an initial weight loss of 6 pounds. This is a medication worth trying!"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "So far, working very well, and side effects are powerful. My Dr. started me at 50 mg, and the medicine is potent, like 5-10 mg of Adderall tablets. My side effects are decreased appetite, some aches and pains, and stomach discomfort, which I hope they all resolve on their own."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "After being diagnosed with ADHD when I was eleven and being on Adderall XR for nine years, I have to say Vyvanse is the best thing that has happened to me. The last year in college, Adderall made me anxious, suspicious, and generally unhappy. So after several trials with Ritalin and Cymbalta, I am proud to say that I am doing much better on Vyvanse, and my grades were awesome this semester. Two A's, two B's, and a C! Much better than two B's and three C's. I am on 40 mg of Vyvanse. I did lose 20 lbs during the first two months, but I gained it back. I also do have some trouble eating in the afternoons, but when the medicine wears off, which I never notice, haha, I am able to eat quite a bit of food. Overall, Vyvanse is an amazing choice."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm 29 years old and was diagnosed with ADD when I was about 11 years old. Since that time, I've been on and off a variety of medications from Ritalin, Adderall, and most recently, Vyvanse, which I've been on for a year and am currently taking 70 mg a day. It helps with my alertness and attentiveness, but I have some of the side effects like extremely dry mouth and little, if any, appetite. I am currently working during the day and take graduate classes at night and notice that the medication does not last the entire 12 hours. I've been taking it later in the day so that I'm able to concentrate in class. Since I began taking the medication, I have seen an increase in acne, previously, I had minor occasional breakouts."
