For Birth Control "I've had this IUD since April 2017. The initial issue was bleeding for about a week, but other problems in the long run for me are the mood swings, feeling deep depression, and the slight weight gain. Even after eating right and working out, I wasn't able to lose any weight while having this IUD in me, unlike when I didn't have it in me, I could lose weight fast. I do have periods, but they aren't as heavy and are very irregular. For me, this IUD does its job. I haven't gotten pregnant at all while on it. It's good to get if you aren't trying to get pregnant, of course, but be sure to do your research in advance and review others' side effects to it before getting it, which I wish I did but didn't. If I did, I wouldn't have gotten it, and I plan to remove it ASAP."

For Birth Control "I’ve had the Liletta IUD for about 4 weeks. I didn’t think I was going to have many side effects. I’ve had extremely heavy bleeding since the first day I got it, as well as my breasts are constantly tender. It’s made me have constant headaches, super nauseous, and it’s made me feel very depressed."

For Birth Control "I have been on Liletta for 3 months now. The insertion was painful but not unbearable, be sure to get it inserted on your period and take some pain meds before you go. So far, I really like it. I don't have to think about BC when I have sex. As for side effects: 1. The spotting was horrible! But I fixed that with some Advil (research ibuprofen to stop IUD bleeding). 2. I do feel extra moody or sad sometimes, but nothing too crazy. I feel moody right before my period. 3. I do get odd mild cramps every now and then, but again, nothing crazy. I tried 3 different BC pills before, which gave me crazy side effects within months 1-2. I used to use the Caya diaphragm, which was all natural but too much work. I like this IUD so far. I gave it an 8/10 as it has only been 3 months. I do still get my periods-which are now 10 days long! I hope my period regulates in the months to come."

For Birth Control "So I just had my Liletta removed after a year and a half of having it. I had it put in after my 3rd baby as I didn't want to take a pill anymore. So insertion was pain-free. I got cramps like labor. I was also breastfeeding, which the IUD affected my supply. Dr. says no, but I know my body. I became really depressed, angry, moody, gained weight, migraines, vision not clear, suicidal, etc. My family begged me. We all agreed I changed. Removal was pain-free. It has only been 3 days since I got it removed. The bad part they don't tell you after getting it removed is that your period is like a hurricane, so be prepared to get heavy pads like overnights. Worse than after I had my baby. Things I liked were no pill every day, no periods, and no worries. I will not recommend Liletta or Nexplanon (the arm implant) to anyone. Currently, my older daughter is going in the same direction with Nexplanon as I did with Liletta. NEVER AGAIN!!"

For Birth Control "I've had the Liletta IUD for a year and a half. I'm being dramatic, but it feels like it has ruined my sense of self and me overall. They say weight gain is not a part of the side effects, but you'll feel incredibly bloated all the time. Then you'll be too depressed and chronically anxious to work out or do anything. It also, for me, caused rapid mood swings and cravings that I've never experienced. Prior to my IUD, I was 120 lb, now I'm reaching 160 lb, despite staying active and eating healthy. I can't shed the weight. I feel pregnant even though I'm not. Swollen ankles, bloated, moody, chronically anxious ALL the time, and the worst body and facial acne that I've never had to deal with before. It caused these crazy cystic zits, despite me trying everything to keep it at bay. Needless to say, this has been a living nightmare, and I'm throwing a party after I get it removed. It's an official divorce party from the nightmarish IUD."

For Birth Control "I have had two Mirenas and loved them. I thought I was getting a third until it was dropped on me after I was on the table, gowned. I cannot stress enough how horrible this product is! The anxiety, depression, and rage are unbearable. You won’t recognize yourself. The insertion was more painful than an endometrial biopsy. I would not recommend this IUD to my worst enemy."

For Birth Control "I had Liletta inserted in April 2021 and immediately started having horrible cramps, bleeding, suicidal thoughts, depression, weight gain, and every possible side effect you can think of. I immediately got it removed, and ever since, I have been having constant cramps and back pain, which only started when I got the IUD. I was not having pain prior to, even though I had a baby in February. She was a big baby, but the cramping stopped a week after she was born. I have had two pelvic ultrasounds, an abdominal and pelvic CT, liver ultrasound, and endometrial biopsy. I’ve seen my gynecologist seven times since this started. I’m beginning to think they think I’m crazy. Do not get this! It is awful!"

For Birth Control "I've had Liletta for about 3 months now (31 yrs old). I was on the pill for over 10 years, then suffered a blood clot and was taken off the pill immediately. The IUD insertion was painful, and I was very crampy for the rest of the day. I then bled for about a week. Since then, no periods (yet!), and I barely have any cramping at all. I have been more bloated, and I've gained some weight, but it might just be that I'm retaining more water. I work out frequently, and I haven't changed my diet, so maybe I will balance out in a couple of months. I have also had more days feeling depressed, but again, I hope this balances out in a couple of months since I am dealing with my blood clot anxiety as well. These side effects seem inconsequential compared to the risk of blood clots with the pill or the risk of pregnancy without any!"
