For Bronchitis "BAD nausea - really afraid I was going to throw up and not keep my heart meds down! Excruciating foot cramps, leg cramps, no appetite, fatigue, and couldn't wait to get done with these pills. I was up pretty much all night with insomnia and the foot cramps that wouldn't go away - night after night. My husband told me to bear through it and stay on the meds for the 7 days, as this was my second bout with bronchitis in a month. Even drinking a lot of water didn't help with it. Took yogurt and STILL had nausea. These pills are AWFUL!!!! I will NEVER, EVER take this poison again! Expensive, $80 for 7 days. Too many bad side effects."

For Sinusitis "My doctor prescribed 10 days of this Rx for a sinus infection; yesterday made 4 days, and I'm experiencing severe joint pain. After reading the reviews below, I'm shocked/scared and will not be taking any more pills. My body feels as though I've been in a car accident; I can barely move my neck due to pain, my hands ache like I have arthritis, my elbows, entire back, hips, knees, and ankles are in pain, and the bottom of my feet are burning as if I've been walking in hot sand. The last four days I've had a headache and nausea, and today my eyes ache. This morning, I was then experiencing confusion and finally decided to do more research on this drug and discovered this site. I plan to call my doctor tomorrow; this drug is horrible!"

Levofloxacin for Kidney Infections "I was prescribed this for a kidney infection. I took one dose. With that dose, I felt so sick to my stomach, had horrible anxiety, my face felt hot, and I felt sweaty. My calves of my legs also felt sore. I stopped after that first dose because I felt so awful and read some pretty scary side effects! I went to a different doctor, and he put me on doxy, which is much safer."

For Pneumonia "I was on a 10-day, 500 mg prescription and could only make it through day 7 before requesting a change in my antibiotic. I had a wide range of side effect symptoms that left me hardly able to function. Severe muscle pain, especially in the back and lower leg (which I am still suffering from and hope the leg pain isn't tendon weakness, which is also a side effect), horrible dizziness, nausea, insomnia, nightmares, and if I got too hot or too cold, I had to immediately lie down. The dizziness was the worst, it felt like I had ridden a carnival ride for hours on end just turning my head. By day 7, my symptoms from pneumonia were only slightly better."

Levofloxacin for Kidney Infections "I was treated for kidney infection with 750 mg once a day for 7 days. Like other reviewers, I had similar side effects: terrible headaches, nausea, sleeplessness, aches in joints. I'm an avid tennis player and worry about tendon damage. I must admit the back pain is better in two days but still have frequent urination issues. The doctor ordered a culture, which should be back soon and perhaps offer another alternative with fewer side effects."

For Sinusitis "I took number 5 pill today of a course of 8 pills for a sinus infection. And I am scared and done. The side effects are horrible: nausea, dizziness, headache, jittery, insomnia, leg pains, heart palpitations, weakness, sensitive to heat. I can't even stand the hair touching my neck or the shirt near my neck. Absolutely horrible medication! Am hoping it all goes away now that I am stopping it!"

For Kidney Infections "I was in the hospital for 4 days with a bacterial kidney infection. I was miserable the whole time. Received IV antibiotics, which I've forgotten the names, however, when I was sent home, it was with a prescription of Levoquin 750 mg for 10 days. I've never had such side effects as with this drug. I could not take the last 2 pills because I felt like it was making a hole in my stomach. My side effects included severe insomnia, constant nausea, sensitivity to light, weakness, fingertips started hurting, and drinking anything, including water, tasted terrible. I've heard about tendon damage, but I hope I don't develop anything else. It has been over a week since I stopped taking these, and I am still weak (no energy), and the nausea doesn't go away. I'm scared to take any antibiotic at this point."

For Sinusitis "I went to an after-hours clinic to treat my sinus infection. The doctor prescribed me 500 mg of levofloxacin at 1 pill a day for 5 days. I took my first dose that night and had horrible anxiety and heart palpitations. I fought bad nausea the whole night too. The effects lasted for 2 days after I took that 1 pill. The next morning I started to get strange feelings in my left leg. It's hard to describe, but it feels like a dull ache in your muscles. I also started to get an odd tingling/numbing sensation in my left leg as well. This feeling (obviously) alarmed me, and I immediately stopped taking the medication. I took only that 1 dose, it's been more than a week now, and I'm still having issues. I still deal with leg pain/numbness/tingling, and now I'm getting a little of it in my left arm. Please don't make the same idiotic mistake that I did and READ about your medication before you take it. Be careful and DON'T take this or any antibiotic in this family unless there is no other choice."

For Pneumonia "I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Spent a night in the ER. Sent home to take levofloxacin. 1 every 24 hours. By the end of day 2, I was nauseous. By the end of day 3, the back kidney area pain and abdominal pain were so bad I was doubled over. The doctor said to stop taking it immediately. Once I stopped, the pain went away. This drug was dangerous for me."

For Bronchitis "I was given this medication at 500 mg for 5 days from an emergency doctor. This is day 6, and I am just now able to walk across the room without intense pain, nausea, and dizziness. I am sore all over and weak, I have not been able to go outside due to the sunlight. I have 2 more days before I can go out in sunlight. I did not know this the first day I took it. I went to the prescription shop, and my skin felt like it was on fire while I was in the car. I have had night sweats, intense pain in my arms, shoulders, back, legs, and abdominal pain. Also, check drug interactions before taking anything else. It is not recommended to use aspirin or other painkillers with this drug."

For Prostatitis "Severe anxiety! Been taking this levofloxacin for prostatitis at 500 mg for about 2 weeks. I switched to this from doxycycline 100 mg. It keeps symptoms to a minimum, however, not without a cost. At first, everything was going well, then the anxiety came, as well as the nausea from the gastritis (which I have never had before). So basically, I traded prostatitis for anxiety, gastritis, and nausea. So read the label before taking!"

For Pneumonia "I've only been taking this for 3 days for pneumonia, and the side effects I've had are nausea about 30 minutes after taking and diarrhea. I'm still looking for something to help with the nausea. It's not fun being as sick as I've been and adding another issue."

For Bronchitis "Guys, I promised to get back to you when the cure is over. After the 3rd day, I had the following side effects: nausea, trouble sleeping, gonalgia, and a strong chemical smell on my whole body. So, I consulted with my doctor. We agreed that I stop taking this drug. I just went on with my cough syrup. My bronchitis seems to be over, but I tell you I would never ever use this drug anymore. I am happy that I am out of it without any long-term injury. You should know the proper dose for your age, for your weight, and for your disease, otherwise, perhaps even in that case, you are lost."

For Bronchitis "Guys, I am Hungarian. We have this drug cure in our country in 500 mg and 5 pills of dose under the name Savulin. I am now on the 3rd day. I will get back to you again when the cure is over. Prescription is of vital importance. If you are over 60 years old, PLEASE be very careful with this drug, which can immediately be poisonous. I will be 56 this year. Now we have a flu epidemic. Many are sick and, for long, cannot get better after more weeks. I tried everything apart from antibiotics, and it did NOT help. I felt the infection would kill me. The first pill already released my respiratory tracts. So for me, 500 mg is already a big gun. I am 54 kg. The 2nd day was one more big step out of the infection. On the 3rd day, I felt that the drug has gone through all over my body, I even felt a smell on me from it. I had some nausea in the afternoon and woke up at night feeling my body smelling. But I feel my airways have released, and I can breathe through my nose really well now."

Levofloxacin "I was prescribed to take this for 10 days. After 5 days, I could not handle the side effects I experienced. I was so exhausted, but the medicine made me so dizzy and nauseous that I couldn't sleep. And when I did manage to get a few hours, I had the most vivid and bizarre dreams. I was also taking Flagyl and developed oral thrush. I would not take Levaquin again."

For Bladder Infection "I was prescribed this medication for urinary tract infection, yeast infection, plus bronchitis. I suffer from asthma and had a terrible cough that will not go away. I just took one dose of levofloxacin 500 mg. I felt something horrible was happening to me that day, my muscles were aching and contracting. I was extremely sensitive to any noise, also experienced nausea and stomach ache. I was not able to sleep that night. I really don't know why this medicine is on the market."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I'm a 24-year-old female. I've never been allergic to anything. I took Tavanic 500 three days ago. The first pill made me nauseous, then I had a panic attack. Since then, I can’t breathe properly. I have shortness of breath, I feel suffocated 24 hours. I don’t know how long it will last. I’m exhausted, and I regret taking it. Don't take it. Save yourselves."

For Kidney Infections "Was prescribed levofloxacin 500 mg once a day for 20 days for a suspected kidney infection. After taking the first dose, I started getting very anxious. Then it was followed by a very dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite, and finally a fever of 101. Discontinuing this medication right away. There are safer options out there."
