For Osteoarthritis "I've been getting Orthovisc injections for 12 years. I'm 52, just had the first of 3 again this am. Makes a big difference for me, and has. Tried another brand, 3 shots in one, yikes, and didn't last. Yes, the 3rd shot is more painful, and yes, feels a bit wobbly at first after each injection but it's gone within a day. Still snowboarding, hiking, paddle boarding, wakesurfing more than wakeboarding (that is impact). Thank you for Orthovisc. PS, side note, have a reputable orthopedic with great PAs who mostly do the injections. It can go crazy painful bad with that long needle."

For Osteoarthritis "Had my first injection 18 months ago. 1st injection of the series was no pain, 2nd of the series extreme pain, swelling, stiffness, 3rd injection no pain. I had no real knee pain for 18 months, remained active with Pilates, hiking, walking, circuit training. Pain started again in June 2017, started injections again in September, 1st injection no pain, next day no swelling but a few twinges. I hope I get another 18 months or more. Had surgery 2 years ago, knee remains stable right now, goal is to avoid any surgery from now on."

For Osteoarthritis "I'm 45 and have been told I will eventually need a double knee replacement. Had a meniscus tear repair on my right knee a year ago (knee still hurts) and now have a tear in my left knee. Cortisone injections didn't last. Finished my last shot of a series of 3 Orthovisc last Friday (injections were very painful), and I have no relief at all. I would say since getting the shots my knees are worse. I can't stand more than 5 minutes without them both hurting terribly, lots of swelling and trouble sleeping. I've been told it can take up to 6 weeks for the shots to provide relief, I'm hoping I see relief sooner than that."

For Osteoarthritis "After moving to a mountainous state, my left knee began acting up and was very unstable. I had had menial meniscus surgery years ago and had stability issues on and off. Not really pain. But after moving here, I was referred to a chiropractor that gave me exercises that did wonders. No pain, instability hardly there. But I got the Orthovisc anyway, thinking that it would help with stability. O M G. Upon getting into the car after the shot, my left foot became tingling. Then an hour or so later, I got a bad headache. An hour or so after that, my knee that had been pain-free started hurting. It is now 24 hours since the shot and the knee still hurts even at rest, and the foot is still tingling. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, and I will not continue with the shots. Hope my chiro can fix this. I feel that Orthovisc has taken me back to square one, but worse."

For Osteoarthritis "Torn meniscus in my knee, given 3 injections of Orthovisc. Pain and swelling for a very long time. Drug was totally useless. Another orthopedic doc said I need knee replacement. Today I spent an hour on the phone with the pharmacy, BriovaRX, told them about the useless drug and that I wanted to speak with their CEO about a bill of $741.64. I found my insurance company paid them, are you ready? $2,083.20! I spoke with 4 different employees who kept putting me on hold and could not give me the name of their president or CEO. Then, to all insult, the 'resolution' employee tried to justify the outrageous cost of the drug. Told them I will not pay and will still pursue finding their CEO. I see a lot of unhappy people here, and a 6.0 rating for an 'expensive specialty drug' is poor. Next, will contact the manufacturer, Janssen Products. Apparently, a team of people decides how much this drug should cost. Defective product period."

For Osteoarthritis "I have two shots two weeks in a row. The first one I felt relief in about 3-4 days. My second shot was nearly a week ago, and I am in pain around the area of the injection. If this pain was gone, I’d be feeling much better than 2 weeks ago. Not sure if the injection was too soon after the first or if I tensed up or some other reason. The area above my kneecap is swollen, and the area around the injection site is a bit inflamed and tender. Wondering if anyone has had this issue. My next shot is in a week and considering waiting longer."

For Osteoarthritis "I have bone-on-bone OA in the right shoulder. I have been told that I will inevitably need a shoulder replacement. I would like to put this off for a while, if possible. I have had 3/4 injections. I was told not to draw conclusions as to effectiveness until well after the last injection. I have had more daily and nighttime pain since starting injections, which I find disheartening as I had good pain control (1-2) before starting. Now it is a 3-4. I am hoping that in the end, the Orthovisc will not fail me!"

"My knee cartilage is in pieces. I had shot number 3 today out of the 4 I'm due to have. Not feeling much better. But it can take a few weeks after the last shot. I learned the hard way - stay off your knee after getting the shot and rest that day - at least it works for me. The shot did hurt. So far, so good. Hoping for the best."

For Osteoarthritis "The first two injections helped a lot. Most of the pain was gone in my right knee. My left had a little soreness left. I was okay until I took the third injection. It caused both of my knees to go in reverse, pain in both knees. Much more painful than they were in the beginning. I called my orthopedic specialist and told him of my results, he had no answer for me, but to say I needed to lose weight and probably have to have surgery."

For Osteoarthritis "I am 43, need both knees replaced. I had both knees done with this treatment, and this has been the worst. I can barely walk, sit, or stand after these injections. I can’t sleep, I try to walk, but too much pain. I have been out of work for 3 years now. My doctor says the next step is replacement and disability, which will be hard for me to get because of my age. Crazy when I’ve worked all my life. I don't really know what move to make now."

"I have been having pain in my knee for about 1 year. I am a nail tech, and sitting was so painful. I was propping my leg up so it was straight all the time. Sleeping, everything. It always had to be straight. I had my 3rd injection last week. Absolutely NO PAIN. The shots were painless. Just a pinch where the needle enters. No bruising, no pain whatsoever. Highly recommend this treatment."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a similar experience as Jenna! The injection was horribly painful, and I was unable to even stand up, much less walk immediately afterward! Ended up being taken to my car in a wheelchair, and by the grace of God, I was able to drive home. The pain was from the knee up almost all the way to my buttocks. Had to call a neighbor to go in my house and get my walker so I could go inside. Couldn't walk at all for 3 days, then had to use the walker for 2 more days. That was a week ago, and I am still experiencing pain in that leg. This may sound exaggerated or nutty, but I promise it's the truth that now I am experiencing intermittent pain in both legs! Supposed to return tomorrow for my 2nd shot, but NOT going through with it. DON'T recommend even trying this Orthovisc!"

For Osteoarthritis "I completed the series of 3 Orthovisc injections on Aug. 15, and sadly not noticing much improvement. I read from one comment that relief wasn't noticed till about a month, so I am hoping like crazy that it will work. After the first injection, it seemed like there might be hope for my knees, and I gave a 10-15% improvement, but nothing after the first go-round. Had a good doctor that used an ultrasound, so the needle wasn't too bad. More pressure than pain, but I am disappointed with the results so far."

For Osteoarthritis "Had a series of three shots in my right knee, the last one on 11/9/2017. The shots stabilized my knee, but I was left with one 'area' of the knee that was tender; however, I could take walks in our hilly neighborhood, go to the grocery store without pain, and generally get on with my life. It is now 1/1/18, and that pesky 'area' is hurting more. I am now using the RX NSAID on a fairly regular basis and icing the knee every night. I have to say, I am disappointed-to say the least. It felt really empowering to be able to walk again."
