Reviews for Glycerin
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "Stress from travel compounded with family emergency stopped my bowel for more than 7 days. Tried all the favored laxatives from experience, nothing helped in the least. Within 6 minutes after my suppository I began having results. Immediately inserted my second suppository and within 10 minutes greater results & relief. The internet helped me understand how to use properly & why these are effective."
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "I've used saline enemas for occasional constipation for several years, but decided to try the liquid glycerin suppositories. I found they were not as effective & more uncomfortable to use. The saline enemas work in 5 minutes & clear me out for at least 2 days while I can concentrate on getting more water & fruit in my system to soften things in my colon. But the glycerin suppositories took a half hour to work & only worked partially. I still felt the need to evacuate & finally 2 hours later I passed a little more, but still not as much as with the saline enemas. Bottom line, the glycerin worked slowly & only partially solved the problem."
Glycerin Suppositories Maximum Strength (glycerin) "I experience constipation as a result of surgery some years ago. After several tests my colo-rectal specialist recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and bowel retraining. The bowel retraining called for the use of glycerin suppositories daily after 2 days of no bowel movement and then, if no bowel movement after 2 days of suppository use I was to administer an enema to produce results. More often than not, the glycerin suppositories are effective in producing a bowel movement thereby making it unnecessary to use an enema. The suppositories usually produce results within 15 - 20 minutes (I often insert the suppository before taking my morning shower and it produces results by the time I finish). They are convenient to use, especially when travelling and produce fast results. My physician feels that glycerin suppositories are less habit forming than most oral laxatives or enemas."
"I use them often .I find they work quickly within 10 minutes ,sometimes within 2 minutes .I generally try and use only 1 .Not sure if you get tolerance from using them. Work better if your stools are softer and not really hard or dried out (same thing) or else they will not work as you would like. If my stools are dried out then I use Motivol it breaks it all down and doesn't cause tolerance. But it can sometimes take a day or so to work if I am really blocked. But it works to get it all out. I get constipation easily even after drinking lots of water and taking in trial doses of fibre to find a sweet spot. But I guess some people just get constipation easier than others. It has messed my sleep up for the last 12 years and I may only get 3-5 hours of sleep per night because of it. My doctors don't listen well, he says always take in more water and fibre ..(may as well talk to myself)"

"I am disabled with a rare disease. I don't have much hip flexibility and sit all day on the side of my bed or in my wheelchair. It can take few days for me to have bowel movement. When I use liquid glycerine enemas I usually find relief within minutes. I'm very short and use a potty squatty which put me in the perfect position for elimination."
"glycerin works within a few minutes for constipation. Removes about half of whole stool. Then creates soft stool with water. For quite a few hours I experience gas and then watery liquid until it wears off. Very uncomfortable but better than the feeling of stuck stools in rectum."
Pedia-Lax Glycerin Suppositories (glycerin) "My baby is 4 months old and did not have a bowl movement for about a week. She had a few pebbles come out and she was screaming in so much pain. I used this medicine for her. The pharmacist told me to run it under water and use half of it, I still used a little less. It worked really good. She was pooping in 1 hour and it just really helped soften it up so she can get it out. Great product, my sister told me about it. Vary happy I found this and it helped my baby girl."
"Highly recommend glycerin, I have IBS so I have been struggling with this constipationissue on and off, for some time. Had tried many tablets, which very often bring on severe cramps. One of these glycerine suppositories and not 5 minutes later,I had been to the toilet and was feeling lots better."
Glycerin Suppositories Maximum Strength (glycerin) "These work best for me. I have tried other laxatives and have suffered with cramps. The suppository helps - I put in one and within 5 minutes, I get results! I worry about using it too often and if there would be side effects...but no side effects! I am lucky that it works for me and it is predictable:)"
"I have used Glycerin Suppositories for years. It is the only way that a bowel movement is possible for me. I have always used the Colace Brand. However, they have recently changed from foil packaging to paper packaging, and in doing so have changed their ingredients in some way. The new Colace suppositories, packaged in the paper packaging don't work for me. I am searching for a new brand. When they were wrapped in foil they melted quickly. Wrapped in paper they are much harder, and don't melt quickly. Does anyone know of a better brand that I could try, that is available in Canada?"
"I have severe stomach issues and due to a lot of stress I have constipation very frequently and the only relief that I can get is for my Fleet glycerine suppository sometimes it takes up to an hour and a half to work generally with me after about 30 minutes I’ll get some relief but other times it takes up to an hour and a half. So don’t give up however if you’re severely impacted and I’ve gone more than 3 to 5 days without them about movement contact your doctor"
"The instructions given by the manufacturer is highly inadequate. It does not give an indicative duration to wait after inserted the dosage. Ended up I was prematurely tried to clear the stools with much difficulty after waited for 20mins. Drugs.com is in fact giving better quality information."
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "Thankful for this suppository. I have been very very ill and now have one less thing to worry about"
"I used to have incomplete bowel movements. Glycerin suppositories are gentle and safe. My doctor says they are safer than anything oral, perhaps with the exception of prunes or prune juice. "
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "I have tried these several times. And nothing. I even held one in for over 7 hours!! And still only the suppository came out in liquid form"
"I find that Glycerine suppositories for constipation work very well for me in the MORNING, after breakfast. For some reason, they do not work for me in the evening."
"It was gentle. As I am pregnant that's really important, and gave me relief. Although it took three hours to work, it worked!"
Pedia-Lax Liquid Glycerin Suppositories (glycerin) "My daughter was so backed up I ran to CVS to get this its my first time using this but it worked and worked fast and she felt no discomfort."
"It did not work at all. One hour and a half later I was able to pass it but with nothing else. Very confusing as I have used before about a year ago and it worked great."
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "I do not know what I would do without the fleet liquid suppository...it is my only relief from bad stomach pain"
"Used it after four days post partum constipation.....used two in a time difference of one hour and things started working..what a relief!!!! Had tried like three oral laxatives.."
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "These are good. I was constipated to the point where I was running around the house crying. I used two of these and it slid on out. They are the best laxatives I've tried."
Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "It worked in about 20 minutes and was gentle with no side effects. Only used one suppository. The constipation is from opioid use."

Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult (glycerin) "I thank God for using this product! It is amazing! I have constipation due to opioid use due to back pain. I've tried everything that there is; Amitiza, Linzess, Movantik-you name it, I have tried it. All of the above cause me to have horrible intestinal gas. I tried a different suppository that was the kind you insert in and it stays in there -it's like wax or whatever, it BURNED terribly! This is more like an enema but it's a very, very tiny amount of liquid that you squeeze in. Within five seconds I was in the bathroom doing business and business was great! No pain, no gas, I am so thrilled and thankful to have found this and I pray it will continue to work this way for me! Fleet Liquid Glycerin 5.4 grams. Hyperosmotic."
