For Hepatitis C "Today is my first day on my 8-week course. I'm a type 1a. I am so happy to have found this blog. I am 51 yrs and was diagnosed in 1989. I finally have my tablets. Today I felt tired, but I am excited about it all. My main issues have been fatigue and depression, lack of sleep, and severe body aches and pains. I can't wait to feel normal."

For Hepatitis C "I was diagnosed with Hep C almost 2 years ago and have been taking Mavyret for a week now. I am having nausea, fatigue, hot flashes, and hair loss. I’m good other than that. Does anyone know if the symptoms get better the longer you are on the medicine? I am so very blessed that my insurance covered this medicine. I hope the Mavyret is working well for you all."

For Hepatitis C "BAE, I see this was one of the last comments posted. You’re concerned about whether this is the best medicine for Hepatitis C, when you have had Hepatitis B. I have seen the answer last year to your question, combing through everything I could find about Hepatitis C. Just do not remember where it was here on these pages. Wow, you have made it 30 plus years before treatment. For myself, I am still dealing with the depression from Hepatitis C. Hepatitis C really changed my brain chemistry. Cured now from this medicine. I will never forget the fatigue I had with Hepatitis C. Remember with the virus Hep C, you don’t look sick. The only way I found out I had the virus was from TV watching sports and saw the ads. My symptoms started after 25 years. Got treated about 29 years with the virus. Look forward to you sharing when you get cured. Here for you. Thanks for the posting."

For Hepatitis C "I have had hepatitis C since 2013, and it is now 2020. I started Mavyret 4 weeks ago, and my blood work from the third week mark showed my chronically high AST and ALT levels have normalized drastically. On top of that, my viral load went from 650,000 to 15, this is an amazing medication. The first two weeks, I had diarrhea, a pounding headache, stomach discomfort, and major fatigue. Fatigue is still an issue. I wish I had gotten this medication sooner, as I have mild liver fibrosis. Don’t wait to get treated for hep C, this medication is expensive, however, there are ways to get treatment without coming out of pocket. Thank you, Optimum Health."

For Hepatitis C "I have Hep C contracted from a tattoo needle in 1988 or '89. I found out in 1983. I did a course of interferon and ribavirin in 1997 for six months, and it was brutal. I have genotype 3, and as I have been previously treated and not cured, I have to take a 16-week course of Mavyret. I have just finished day 7, and I feel great. I was getting a tiny headache, but not enough to warrant a painkiller. I have no other side effects. I take the pills every night at 6 pm and only need to have a small amount of food. I usually suffer from fatigue, although I am quite active. I will usually go, go, go, and crash really hard for a couple of days. I've been waiting for the 'crash' to come, and it's not coming. I feel wonderful. I have never not had fatigue my entire adult life, so I am just so happy so far. I wish everyone else out there the best of luck! By the way, this drug has just been funded by a drug company in New Zealand, so I don't have to pay. Amazing."

For Hepatitis C "I've been on this med for almost 8 weeks. My doc told me it's 12 weeks, but I see most people only do 8, and I can't handle much more of it! I'm just fighting because I want to be cured! I'm a single mom, I work a lot, and have been fighting extreme exhaustion! I feel like the more weeks you get into the med, it gets worse. Now, this past week, I've been extremely depressed! I haven't been depressed in years. I just want to be done with this because I'm having a really hard time! I'm getting close to the end, I hope I can't do 12 weeks, so I'm praying I'm cured by week 8! Guess everyone has different side effects!"

For Hepatitis C "I was diagnosed with HEP-C when my family doctor conducted my full body check. I already had been diagnosed with my kidney issue, proteinuria, and upon detailed blood tests, I was detected with Hep C. I was advised for an 8-week course of Mavyret. I am on the 7th week now. The first 1-2 weeks, I had very bad itching, and it went away. Used some oily lotions, and it helped to cure the itching. Fatigue went too high. Can't sleep at night for over 5 hours, no matter how much tired, will remain tired and upset during work. Not sure if it's due to Mavyret. Hoping that Hep-C will go away soon. Had a blood test 2 weeks ago. Will see the doctor in the next 1-2 days and will find out if it's improving. Stay tuned...."

For Hepatitis C "I'm just into week 4. I'm experiencing severe fatigue, joint and muscle aches, some stomach issues. However, seeing what a family member went through years ago to be treated, I feel lucky. I'm just wondering when this fatigue will improve. I've been worn out and tired for years now and can't wait to feel better."

For Hepatitis C "I've been taking Mavyret for about 5 1/2 weeks. I haven't had much side effects other than some fatigue and some gas. I don't feel as exhausted as before, and I'm waiting on the results of my first labs drawn at 4 weeks. I'll find out then how well it is working. I hope the levels are undetectable. I'm so grateful for this treatment."

For Hepatitis C "Just finished my 12-week treatment, not had a blood test done yet but feel way better. Had headaches, fatigue, and some psychological issues, but nothing too bad. I still feel very tired though on occasion. Had Hep C for 27 years without knowing, only found out after rotating back from Libya in 2010, so fingers crossed."

For Hepatitis C "I’m on week 4 of Mavyret, and I take it at night. I was diagnosed with hep C genotype 1a in 2015. I have battled mild depression/anxiety before taking this drug, however, since being on it, the depression/anxiety has gotten significantly worse. So, I started an antidepressant 4 days ago. I just noticed today in the shower that I’m also experiencing hair loss. I have had incredibly low energy the past 2 weeks and some nausea and diarrhea since starting this Mavyret. But I am so grateful to finally have an opportunity to try this medication in hopes of a cure."

For Hepatitis C "I have been taking Mavyret for 8 weeks, and I feel super tired. Completely drained to do anything. My body hurts, and sometimes I get sharp pains in my side. I get severe migraines. I have lost all my energy. I am waiting to go and take blood work to find out if it worked. I take 3 pills at night."

For Hepatitis C "I had hep C for 50 years but only noticed it the last years of that 50. I took Mavyret for 2 months. It cured me the first month but required taking another month. I felt extreme fatigue, extreme thirst, extreme hunger, and weakness. I lifted weights for most of my adult life but now can't lift much. I was walking 4 miles a day before taking it and had brain fog, depression, and anxiety. Almost a year since the last dose. Now fatigue is less, still extremely thirsty, extreme hunger gone, energy slowly improving. Now walking 3.9 miles a day. Finally sleeping well but still get depressed. My diet is 85% plant-based and 15% animal, so I still have muscles. Sometimes my digestion isn't good, and there is heartburn, so I take probiotics and that takes care of it. I look forward to lifting weights again and I'm 69. Mavyret was scary to take."

For Hepatitis C "I start my 4th week today. Still having some fatigue and insomnia. I started taking sleeping aids, and that has helped both the sleeplessness and fatigue. I take in the morning, and fatigue starts around 6 to 7 pm. I also have worse pain in my hands, knees, and feet. I had these pains before, but they seem quite a bit worse the last couple of weeks. Praying that the pain subsides. I haven't taken anything for the pain for fear of harming my liver, I may have to start. So, just hoping to be free of the disease and that the pain subsides. I have first blood work on the 28th."

For Hepatitis C "Second day on treatment. Great so far. Not too bad side effects, just a little fatigue. I'm outside all day for work and so far no problems. Was worried about taking this medicine, but the side effects are worth facing compared to the outcome of not taking it. I have chronic hep C, gen type 1a. Will keep you posted."

For Hepatitis C "Just finished week 2 of Mavyret. The side effects I do have are very weird! So far, no headaches or nausea, and I'd say only 2 out of 7 days are bad or crappy ones. Most days I feel fine! Side effects I've experienced so far are hot, burning in my face, dizziness, achy sore body, fatigue, and just a weird anxious, disassociated feeling. Also, today I am feeling a weird feeling in my hands and other extremities that is hard to explain. I've gotten two episodes of really bad anxiety, but they passed. Sometimes I feel like I have icy hot on my hands and body, and restless limbs. But I am so glad I haven't felt any nausea or headaches! It's flying by, and I am so happy to have this all over with soon."

For Hepatitis C "Have been on Mavyret for one week. I have had no side effects other than fatigue and some insomnia. I was so afraid of the side effects that I have been overeating. This week, week 2, I will stop overeating and see how that goes. Praying I'm one to be cured."

For Hepatitis C "Ok, starting week 6. I really have not had any major side effects. The pain in hands and knees is much less. I'm not sure the pain in my feet is related to hep C or medication. I have caught a bad cold or flu, which I rarely ever have. Been having more painful headaches, which more water hasn't helped. Now taking occasional ibuprofen. I really am not sure if any of the symptoms I had or am having are related to the medication other than added fatigue and insomnia. Sometimes I wonder if it is really working. I had 4-week labs and am anxiously awaiting results!"

For Hepatitis C "I have been treated with a combination of interferon given by injection in the abdomen and Ribavirin, which lowered my viral load but didn’t clear the virus. More than ten years later, I tried an oral combination of Sovaldi and Ribavirin, which apparently did not completely clear the virus. The first round of treatments was a nightmare, with my abdomen covered in bruises from injections and side effects that made me wonder if death would be better. The second treatment was much less harsh but still difficult, like having a mild case of the flu. I am two months post-treatment with Mavyret and virus-free. Mavyret is completely tolerable, with very few mild side effects of itching, headache, and fatigue."

For Hepatitis C "In 2009 my HC Quantitation was 3,965,000. Gene type 1a. I choose not to take the treatment because it would require downtime. I had people depending on me, and my doctor told me that new medications would be available in the future that would have fewer side effects. In 2022 my HCQ was 1,450,000, I decided to try Mavyret. I keep a log of my symptoms: fatigue and headache were the worst ones. I was able to continue with my regular schedule (which was a relief). My headaches caused parts of my brain to feel like pressure was being applied to it. I tried not to take any medication but eventually had to take medication for relief. I had unusual dreams but didn't have insomnia. My treatment was 8 weeks. I read to eat a meal before your medicine so the medicine would be absorbed better. I had good days and bad days. I finished my treatment in 2023. I am waiting to be tested again. I will comment again after my 12-week blood work."

For Hepatitis C "A few days in and I feel better than I’ve felt in years. I’m waking up super easily, clear-headed, with lots of energy. Hope this doesn’t change. But I have 7 more weeks to go. Hope I don’t get the aches and fatigue. A headache I can deal with."

For Hepatitis C "A pleasant update here from my review on April 24th (that included initial 20 hours of fatigue, possibly unrelated to Mavyret, followed by zero side effects experienced by the 8th day into the 8-week regimen). I just got blood test results from lab work taken after 4 weeks and 6 days of taking Mavyret. Result: Hep C is undetectable! Still no apparent side effects, other than possibly occasional brain fog, which may be more a result of preoccupation from personal issues and/or sinus-related due to allergy season. I never thought the only real hard part of taking this medication was going to be getting the pills out of the mini-box! (pushing the 3rd pill out is always the hardest strain on my thumb... 'Awwww...')"

For Hepatitis C "I just completed the 8-week course of Mavyret. Fatigue was a side effect. Even now, being off of it for a day and a half, I got cold, tingling hands and feet. The fatigue comes and goes. Out of nowhere, it hit me. I look forward to the drugs not being in my system. I'll do blood work on December 26. I feel better, but the fatigue factor needs to go away."

For Hepatitis C "After finishing my Mavyret treatment almost 4 months ago, I just found out today from blood work that the hep C virus is undetected, and I couldn’t be happier and so relieved! It gave me the motivation to share with the rest of you. Give it a chance to work, trust me. I took only a 4-week treatment because that’s all my insurance would allow. And even though the first week or two was a bit tough, I powered through because I really wanted this to work. In those 1-2 weeks, I did get extremely fatigued and a headache. It was hard sometimes keeping my head up and eyes open at work. But then I got used to the medication, and that all eventually stopped. No more side effects for the rest of the treatment. I took the 3 giant horse pills at night after dinner before bed. Try to fight through those side effects if you can, because I promise the outcome in the end is so worth it!!"

For Hepatitis C "I’m on my day 8 of Mavyret. I’ve experienced all side effects so far, but mostly on the light side. Headache is there, but not hard enough that I felt like taking something for it. A few times a day there’s light dizziness. And there’s certainly fatigue - especially at night when about 7 pm I start feeling like I’ve been up for several days. Short naps don’t help. I take the pills at 12:30 pm every day. But, as I said, none of those effects are that hard so far. I’ll leave another review when I’m done with my 8-week treatment prescribed. On a positive side, this fatigue also ensures I sleep like a baby at night. Haven’t slept this well for years. Hope the medicine is working! Will find out in a couple of weeks when I get my first bloodwork done. Had Hep C for 20+ years so far, with no symptoms but at stage 2 of fibrosis."
