For Anxiety "Started with 100 mg 3 times a day. Progressed to 200 mg 3 times a day. The slight woozy feeling never left me, and slight memory loss. I did have a bit of a feeling of well-being, and it took the edge off the nerve pain and burning in my feet. So I weaned off and stayed off for 5 wks due to dizziness. After the 5 weeks, I felt I was taking too much Tylenol, so I went back on gabapentin 100 mg 3 times a day. Woozy head and forgetfulness was somewhat worse this time, so after a couple of weeks on it, I decided I'm done with it. Withdrawal symptoms include some nausea, weak feeling in my legs off and on, and flu-like symptoms. I'm sad that it didn't work well for me."

For Migraine "Suffering from chronic migraine vertigo or silent migraine so poorly was getting 3/5 attacks per day, loss of balance, vertigo, dizziness, spaced out, visual disturbances. Saw my optician several times as it felt like my eyes were strange, always feeling off balance. Ended in A&E, saw my neurologist who confirmed it was migraine vertigo and put me on 300 mg at night time and gradually increased this dosage to 1800 mg (600 mg 3 times a day). Felt dizzy, spaced out, confused, lasted 5 months and neurologist advised me to wean off the drug. The gabapentin did help at my well beginning, it never went away. My GP has prescribed propranolol, not started yet. Side effects of gabapentin: dizzy, off balance, pain in head, tired, confused, memory issues, avoid."

For Neuropathic Pain "This medication took me 3 weeks to get used to. It gave me bad thoughts, a drugged feeling, and I wouldn't drive because I didn't feel 'right.' It did help with the pain, so I continued taking it. I swelled up like a blowfish and felt dumber than dirt. My memory was completely horrible, and I would say random words that didn't make sense in mid-sentence. I personally would not recommend."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have had neuropathy, which started as tingling and numbness in my toes and progressed gradually for over 20 years. Now the pain is unbearable most of the time, and while it sounds crazy to say, I hurt constantly, but my feet, legs, hands, and arms have lost almost all feeling and sensations to touch. I have been to doctors, neurologists, and pain management for years and have been prescribed gabapentin many different times at different dosages, and at first (early on in my neuropathy), it seemed to work. But after a while, I started having a lot of memory issues, brain fog, and even a lack of balance and motor functions. After quitting the gabapentin therapy, my head started to clear up, and I was able to regain some motor functions. I have now been on opioids for pain so long that I have to take too many to function. I am now on a mission to find some other kind of relief! If anyone has tried something natural that works, I would love to hear what it is!"

For Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome "Has been very helpful. However, I have experienced some side effects. I have had some problems with chest pain. After a heart cath, which was normal, I was started on metoprolol. No further cp. Also have problems with memory loss and an inability to focus, however, I was on Lyrica for a while, and this was much worse then. Does eliminate all my pain, but overall, this is the only medication that has helped with the RSD at all."

For Peripheral Neuropathy "I began 600 mg of gabapentin after internal shingles left me with a pinched brachial plexus. At this amount, I was basically unable to function due to forgetfulness, stumbling, and confusion. We lowered the amt., but it continues to affect me this way."
