For Migraine Prevention "The first month I took this, I had chronic insomnia, nightmares, fatigue, muscle pain, low mood, anxiety, anger outbursts, canker sores, constipation. I said never again, but in the third week, the side effects wore off, so I took it again. The same happened again, but not as bad, and I started to have pain-free days, so I tried a third injection, which worked really well, but I still had the insomnia, low mood, anxiety, etc. On the fourth injection, my mood has hit rock bottom, constantly crying over nothing (I never cry), not wanting to leave the house due to the anxiety. I'm actually sitting here thinking what's the point, so I've just emptied my injections in the bin. I've got a few days left until the side effects start to wear off, but I'm never taking this drug again. The worrying thing is that my neurologist told me no side effects. I've reported my side effects to the yellow card scheme, I think we should all do the same."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve had 2 full months on Ajovy now. My headaches have been reduced from 20 per month to 11 per month! While I still have some additional days with prodrome symptoms and no headache, this has also reduced significantly. I can concentrate (less brain fog) for longer periods now, have a little more energy, and want to take part in my own life for the first time in more than 2 decades!! I experienced slight site bruising from one injection, and fatigue and body pain for a couple of days after both. But having FM/CFS makes it hard to tell if those symptoms are side effects or not. I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a long-term solution for me and am very thankful for Ajovy’s effectiveness. Way to go, Teva!"

For Migraine Prevention "Ajovy worked okay for migraines, but took 3 months to kick in. Unfortunately, it also caused chest pain, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, anxiety, and heartburn. It shouldn't be surprising that it causes so many issues, given all the things CGRP does in your body, but it's so new that most neurologists seem to believe it has only mild (or even no) side effects."

For Migraine Prevention "Oh, how I wish I could come here first before agreeing to try Ajovy! Started taking it in Feb. '21. First month, no migraines/no issues; however, in subsequent months, I started getting more migraines and more often than when I was on my previous preventative (Topamax). My doctor said to 'give it time,' citing very few known side effects. I definitely got the injection site redness, but what I didn't realize right away was that everything else I began to experience was also related to Ajovy (I just didn't realize it right away). It seemed as if I gained weight at a rapid pace overnight each month without changing a thing. Every bone and joint in my body ached, I had zero energy, and all I wanted to do was sleep all the time. I had no idea what was going on and thought, like many others here, that I was crazy. I took my last and final injection in August and am slowly (slowly) starting to see these awful side effects fade."

For Migraine Prevention "Absolutely brilliant, one migraine in a month compared to three a week for thirty years. I've tried everything, and nothing works except for sumatriptan, but that makes me very drowsy. But I'm getting very concerned about the side effects of Ajovy: swollen legs, constipation, lower back pain, anxiety, and fatigue - it's only been three months. I am hoping it will get better, as for me, this is a wonder drug."

For Migraine Prevention "I used this at the beginning of last year and did seem to help. My prescription was not refilled after 4 injections. I developed COVID in August 2021. I restarted the injections on February 1, 2022. After my first dose, I have felt chest pains, neck pain, severe fatigue, shaking of my hands severely, and throwing up blood. Needless to say, I will not be taking it again until more research has been done with reactions to COVID."

For Migraine Prevention "My experience has not been the best. This is my first injection and I am having a rough time with fatigue and mental function. I am losing words, all of a sudden, my hunger has increased. This is like taking Topamax."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been suffering from migraine for 30 years. Somehow, I was able to manage, but the last 3 years it got worse. I tried Topamax. Very bad experience. I was on a beta blocker. Bad experience. Nortriptyline actually worked well for me. It cut my headaches by a lot. I had maybe 1 headache a week. But some side effects I could not tolerate. Then I switched to Ajovy. My 5 injections were not bad, but my 6th I started experiencing very bad side effects like: heart palpitations, anxiety, muscle cramps, fatigue, dizziness, off-balance, and constant pressure on top of my head. I notified my doctor, but he said that he was not aware of symptoms like that, so it is only one way to find out. I decided to stop. My last injection was on October 16. Reading reviews here, I noticed that people have similar symptoms and I am not crazy. This is a new medication on the market and there is not enough data on possible side effects. I have to admit that it did help with migraines."

For Migraine Prevention "I've been on Ajovy for about 6 months. It was like a miracle. I'm not burning all of my PTO on migraines anymore. Not sure if this is related, but a couple of weeks ago, I aggressively used a muscle roller over my Ajovy injection site (over my right quad) for a few days. Next thing I know, I am in so much pain for days and days. My quad starts to spasm constantly when I walk, this terrible gripping and twisting sensation every few seconds. My back hurt. I also got a very bad case of cutaneous allodynia just over my right quad and IT band, which I’d never had before. Then, 2 days ago, I got cutaneous allodynia from my neck down to my knees. I felt cold and fatigued, and everything hurt, but no other symptoms. It's mostly gone now, but it was completely debilitating. For the last 3-4 months, I also started having very brief bouts of dizziness that last between a few seconds and maybe 5 minutes. That part is manageable. It only happens once every few days."

For Migraine Prevention "Firstly, thank you everyone for your feedback, it has helped me enormously where doctors have not. It's criminal how they and the drug companies dole out these medicines without proper testing or disclosure. I took my first dose 3 days ago. First day: lots of anxiety, crying, horrible tension headache, hunger, and extreme fatigue. Second day: worsening by the hour to near suicidal thoughts (I suffer from depression, but it was under control and actually really good lately). Third day: starting to feel better, but swollen lump under my left eye, bloating, heartburn, hunger, and tiredness still here. I hope it won't take several weeks to get this out of my system. I also will NOT be taking any further doses!"
