For Migraine Prevention "I took 2 injections 4 weeks apart. Within 5 days, I had extreme anxiety, fatigue, lack of concentration, felt utterly depressed, and daily headaches. My neurologist said Ajovy has no side effects, so I believed it was a coincidence. I took the 2nd injection 4 weeks later and have since had a few panic attacks, one of which happened in the hospital while waiting to see the neurologist. They advised I stop using it, and it should take 5 months to get out of my system. I have been signed off work for the first time ever. Please think long and hard about using this, once it is injected, there is no going back."

For Migraine Prevention "Firstly, thank you everyone for your feedback, it has helped me enormously where doctors have not. It's criminal how they and the drug companies dole out these medicines without proper testing or disclosure. I took my first dose 3 days ago. First day: lots of anxiety, crying, horrible tension headache, hunger, and extreme fatigue. Second day: worsening by the hour to near suicidal thoughts (I suffer from depression, but it was under control and actually really good lately). Third day: starting to feel better, but swollen lump under my left eye, bloating, heartburn, hunger, and tiredness still here. I hope it won't take several weeks to get this out of my system. I also will NOT be taking any further doses!"

For Migraine Prevention "This was the worst drug I ever took. It did make my headaches go away, but I had HBP, heart palpitations, anxiety, could not sleep, severe joint pain, severe hot flashes, no monthly period. Dr. said no side effects. Lie."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been on Ajovy for 3 months, and this has been a nightmare. It hasn’t really helped my daily migraines. But it has given me severe anxiety, almost daily. I am now taking Ativan 2-3 times a week. I have even been to the ER with severe panic attacks. I can’t wait for this to be out of my system."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been on Ajovy for 4 months, and while I’ve gone from 15+ migraines a month to about 1 a week, I will be stopping the injection due to its side effects. So far, my side effects are that I’ve gained ~10 pounds, my hair is thinning extremely fast, and my anxiety has been at an all-time high. I was told there were no major side effects from Ajovy, but not being on any other medications, I really think Ajovy is the culprit for my symptoms. The medication works very well, just not worth the side effects, in my opinion."

For Migraine Prevention "The first month I took this, I had chronic insomnia, nightmares, fatigue, muscle pain, low mood, anxiety, anger outbursts, canker sores, constipation. I said never again, but in the third week, the side effects wore off, so I took it again. The same happened again, but not as bad, and I started to have pain-free days, so I tried a third injection, which worked really well, but I still had the insomnia, low mood, anxiety, etc. On the fourth injection, my mood has hit rock bottom, constantly crying over nothing (I never cry), not wanting to leave the house due to the anxiety. I'm actually sitting here thinking what's the point, so I've just emptied my injections in the bin. I've got a few days left until the side effects start to wear off, but I'm never taking this drug again. The worrying thing is that my neurologist told me no side effects. I've reported my side effects to the yellow card scheme, I think we should all do the same."

For Migraine Prevention "I had one injection 21 days ago, and I’ve felt awful since. I’ve had increased migraine the first week that went away, muscle aches in my legs, increased and worsening vertigo/dizziness, I can see myself swaying, anxiety off the charts, depression, crying a lot, dizziness when sleeping, nausea, messed up my thyroid levels. This from a drug with no side effects, first, there are no meds with no side effects. Second, trials were not done long enough. Third, they aren’t listing the side effects on paperwork, doctors don’t listen when they're told about them. I’ve spoken to a few pharmacists, and they all said tons of side effects are being reported to them. Now I have to wait up to 5 months for it to leave the body. But you have to have it monthly, so why does it last 5 months? Being an antibody made my mice and rats DNA could be the problem."

For Migraine Prevention "Neuro prescribed Ajovy. I decided to try it without my usual extensive Google search, bad mistake. Causing too much anxiety and panic feelings that have been under control for over 2 years. I’m just plain mad about this! Ajovy was the only new med tried, and less than 24 hours after injection, the heightened anxiety returned. So now I’m waiting out the 31-day half-life. Yuck!"

For Migraine Prevention "On the 2nd of March, I had my second Ajovy injection. Within two hours, I had a bad rash on my face and my neck. I could breathe fine but felt like someone was pinching my throat. By the next morning, I had a full-body itchy rash, the injection site was red and purple and swollen to the size of a softball. I went to urgent care and was given lots of Benadryl and prednisone. Three days after being off prednisone, I now have the itchy full body rash, chest tightness, anxiety, stomach pain, and skin reddening. I wish I had never taken this."

For Migraine Prevention "Ajovy worked okay for migraines, but took 3 months to kick in. Unfortunately, it also caused chest pain, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, anxiety, and heartburn. It shouldn't be surprising that it causes so many issues, given all the things CGRP does in your body, but it's so new that most neurologists seem to believe it has only mild (or even no) side effects."

For Migraine Prevention "Love this medication. It has helped tremendously with my migraines, however, after about a week of taking the injection, my anxiety is through the roof, and I get horrible nightmares. My blood pressure is all over the place as well. I'm trying to push forward and stay on the medication Ajovy, praying the side effects settle down. I'm on month 3, so we will see..."

For Migraine Prevention "Absolutely brilliant, one migraine in a month compared to three a week for thirty years. I've tried everything, and nothing works except for sumatriptan, but that makes me very drowsy. But I'm getting very concerned about the side effects of Ajovy: swollen legs, constipation, lower back pain, anxiety, and fatigue - it's only been three months. I am hoping it will get better, as for me, this is a wonder drug."

For Migraine Prevention "First 2 months it was okay. My migraines were not so strong. But after the 3rd application, side effects became real with dizziness, balance problems, anxiety, and headaches are back. I took the 5th dose at the end of September and it was a disaster. No more Ajovy."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been suffering from migraine for 30 years. Somehow, I was able to manage, but the last 3 years it got worse. I tried Topamax. Very bad experience. I was on a beta blocker. Bad experience. Nortriptyline actually worked well for me. It cut my headaches by a lot. I had maybe 1 headache a week. But some side effects I could not tolerate. Then I switched to Ajovy. My 5 injections were not bad, but my 6th I started experiencing very bad side effects like: heart palpitations, anxiety, muscle cramps, fatigue, dizziness, off-balance, and constant pressure on top of my head. I notified my doctor, but he said that he was not aware of symptoms like that, so it is only one way to find out. I decided to stop. My last injection was on October 16. Reading reviews here, I noticed that people have similar symptoms and I am not crazy. This is a new medication on the market and there is not enough data on possible side effects. I have to admit that it did help with migraines."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been taking Ajovy for two months. Since then, I have experienced awake night terrors, trouble sleeping, restless leg thing, extreme spasticity that feels like my body is trembling, and anxiety attacks. I also have random dizziness. Yes, it's helped my migraines, but it has caused daily issues. I'm even having issues with balance. I just don't think it's worth the side effects. I was really hoping to have found something to help my migraines, but I guess I will just keep looking. I do take something called headache-free vitamins, and they help a lot. Good luck, everyone! Thank you, everyone, for sharing!"

For Migraine Prevention "To the person who said this: 'They are hereditary, passed down from my mom and grandmother. I started taking Ajovy almost 2 years ago. It has been life-changing for my headaches; however, I’m starting to have crazy symptoms, and I am wondering if anyone else has had the same. Extreme dizziness (feels like I’m on a boat rocking), pressure on the top of my head, hair loss, a little trouble getting the words out of my mouth, a little confusion, and terrible anxiety. I’ve stopped taking Ajovy to see if that could be the culprit; ' I have these symptoms when I have migraines. When on Ajovy and Aimovig, the head pain is better, but symptoms similar to yours continued, but to a lesser degree. Could you have had these symptoms before Ajovy but not noticed because of pain being predominant?"

For Migraine Prevention "I've been suffering with migraines now for 9 years and have tried everything. I was at the end of the line when I was offered Ajovy. I feel like it has been a lifesaver. I've gone from chronic migraines over 15 days of the month to 1 or 2!!! It took 3 months to work, and it made me quite unwell to start with. I had very bad anxiety, but that has left now, and I feel it starts to wear off slightly the week before it's due. The downside of it is I'm snappy and can be quite short with people. But I feel like I have my life back, I'd rather that than how I have been for the last 9 years, and my friends and family understand it's a side effect of the medication."

For Migraine Prevention "The most terrible drug that I have ever used! I was taken by 911 because I started shaking, anxiety was so strong and, like others mentioned, I felt like I was about to pass out in my sleep. Heart palpitations were extremely strong. Previously, I had no issues with heart and anxiety, and this is the only medicine I started using recently. Quitting ASAP, as my migraines improved only a little, and side effects are so strong and unbearable!"
