Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I had my period for a month straight after taking this for a couple of weeks. Then, when that was finally done and I got my period again the week before, I was extremely bloated and constipated. I have had no sex drive, when my boyfriend tries to be physical with me, I get disgusted, and my anxiety and depression have been horrible. Along with that, I have nausea almost every time I eat. I've been miserable. Worst birth control I have ever taken."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I started 3 weeks ago, and now I have huge mood swings, it's horrible. My boyfriend said he loves me, and I cried. This is TMI, but the pill made me a little more horny than usual. I eat way more. I ate 3 boxes of chocolate while crying, and after that, I ate chili and McDonald’s. Not joking, I've been eating like crazy for the last 2 weeks. It works good, but be ready for depression."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Endometriosis "I am very displeased. I started Cryselle because my previous birth control wasn't strong enough to stop bleeding caused by endometriosis. This drug made me very sad, depressed, and angry, and I had a lot of mood swings. On top of all of that, I gained 14 pounds in a month. What fun."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Was not on BC for many years till my dr recommended birth control in order to help with my endometriosis. I've been on this for a month and a half and no progress in period or cramps, and I've never had worse acne than I do right now. I hardly wear any makeup and rarely ever get pimples, and what started as a dry, scaly rash-type thing on my chin and jawline has one week later turned into burning red acne all over my face. I've also noticed how severely depressed I have become. Although I have struggled with depression throughout the past 8 years, I have never ever felt this depressed or uninterested in anybody and everything. Everything and everyone irritates me. Once I looked up others' reviews, I decided I will not take this again."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for a little bit over a year, and let me just say it has been interesting. I honestly got it to help with periods, which it is okay at, but I was definitely expecting better. My periods used to last a heavy 6 days, but it switched to a slightly lighter 4 days. So it worked in that aspect, but when it comes to regulating, it would be off by a couple of days every month. I have gained 10 pounds in the past year, even though I was active, I feel constantly fatigued and have cramps all the time randomly. I never had acne, so that was not an issue, but the overall feeling of just feeling gross and depressed has outweighed the positives for sure. I'm going off of birth control, I just cannot handle this anymore. I wish anyone luck, I am glad to hear that some have positive experiences, I just did not."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I was put on Cryselle to help regulate my cycle and clear up what was left of my acne, and I have to tell you this is the worst experience of my life. I went from my skin being almost clear to having cystic acne covering my entire face and chest, which was also very heartbreaking for me because my cheeks were the only place where I would break out. I've also become very moody and more depressed. I really do encourage you to steer away from this pill. It has honestly been the worst decision I've made in a really long time. Save yourself the pain and money. I'm looking to switch ASAP!!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Honestly, the worst BC I’ve EVER been on. My old PCP changed me without my consent. The first 3 months I didn’t have a period. My fiancé had to keep buying pregnancy tests for me (which were all negative). I have developed PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). My depression has gotten severely worse to the point I have to be on two antidepressants instead of one. I never have normal periods. I take iron supplements, and this time my period was so bad I almost passed out and gave me a cramp for 5 hours straight. No matter whether I have a tampon in and a maxi pad on, I’ll manage to bleed down my legs."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started this 3 months ago to stop my ovarian cyst from growing. Well, that shrunk, but a tiny fibroid I had grew 3 times its size, and my new OB said it was from this pill. Now I have to get surgery and take 4 weeks off work because I have had nonstop cramping for 3 months, and I’ve had a heavy period for over 3 weeks now (and I skip the placebo). My depression has gotten so bad I scored in the “severe depression” category, and life is so hard every day, so now I’m on antidepressants. This pill is a nightmare. OB is having me switch to progesterone only now."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Awful. Noticed after a month an increase of painful acne only on my chin, the most hormonal spot. Made me depressed, and I questioned my self-worth every day, which made me feel awful. My anxiety wasn’t bad before the BC but is terrible now. I would not recommend this to anyone."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This pill was awful for me. I had the worst mood swings. I was constantly depressed, crying, or miserable. I gained close to 15 lbs in the first month I was on it. My appetite could not be curbed, and I was eating everything in sight. The bloating was terrible too. Overall, I hated this pill for me."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Did its job, no pregnancy, so I gotta give it credit where it's due. It also lightened my periods a decent amount. It did give me extreme depression, mood swings, irritability, and a HUGE drop in libido, though. The first few months caused me to vomit every few days when taking it. I also found overall energy levels dropped, and I had far less physical energy to do daily tasks. It does the job of prevention but has a lot of crummy side effects."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Cryselle is the second birth control pill I’ve tried. I switched after my previous pill gave me horrible skin issues and facial breakouts. While Cryselle did clear up my skin and get it back to normal, it caused weight gain, extreme fatigue, loss of motivation, and my hair (normally very curly) changed texture (much less curly, dull, and lifeless). It did relieve period pain and made my cycle very predictable, though. All in all, I’m much happier not using it, but the pill is all about finding the perfect one for your own body. Cryselle was not the one for me."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I had been on this pill for 10 months. At first, it was fine, but then my mood swings changed like crazy. Made me really psychotic and depressed for no reason at all. It made my skin very dry and dull, my appetite also decreased. I didn't have any acne, though, and my period was very light, which is a bonus. I stopped using it a few months ago, and I feel like I'm normal again. On another pill now, hoping to work this time."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This is horrible. I broke out so bad, and I had pimples for MONTHS. Then it left me with such bad acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The only reason I got on this pill was to clear my acne, and it backfired on me so bad. On top of that, my feelings were always low, and I always felt sad. 0/10. This is the worst birth control."

For Birth Control "First of all, I think it's important to point out that all birth controls affect every woman differently, so going by my review or anyone else's doesn't necessarily help. I went through seven other pills before I got to this one. They were all bad matches, but they mainly affected my mood in the worst way possible, so my primary goal was to eliminate the depression that came with the PMS. This did that. I've been taking this pill for about two years now and didn't really think I had any negative side effects. Well, also two years ago, I began to become avid in exercising. I did lose weight, but with body fat percentage, I have plateaued for at least a year, and I am still not at a decent percentage. I exercise about ten plus hours a week and eat extremely well, tracking everything and monitoring my macros. I've gone through everything, and the only viable answer is the estrogen and norgestrel. It has inhibited my ability to lose fat."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This birth control definitely regulated my period and made them lighter and has done its job helping with pregnancy, obviously. But since I've been on this, I've broken out so bad around my chin and cheeks, and I will be honest, my skin has never been great, but it hasn't been this bad in a long time, and I feel like the scars last so much longer. I thought if I kept taking it, my skin would clear up, but it didn't. Other than that, I didn't gain weight, I'm pretty sure my sex drive was the same, no spotting, or any other possible side effects. One thing that might've been the cause, but I'm not sure, I may have gotten more depressed, but that also might just be the cause of the bad breakout since I very much care about my appearance."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I began this birth control 2 months ago. I've always had a difficult time with birth control, but this was by far the worst. I have been so depressed to the point of having suicidal thoughts. I haven't had any energy or motivation. My skin is more oily than it's ever been but drier than it's ever been in a few areas. My hair started thinning. My anxiety was off the wall, and my skin itched without a rash. Everybody annoyed me for no reason. I have yet to find a birth control that works for me."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This is one awful birth control. I only took it for 6 days, and around day 4, I started having heavy feelings of depression. So I stopped it, and then the very next day, I got hit with a huge wave of severe depression and anxiety. Had anxiety attacks and depression bad for 2 weeks following, and around week 3, my mood started to slowly return. I'm in week 4 now and still feel a little down and am still having anxiety. Also, my heart feels like it's pounding out of my chest, and my body constantly trembles. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. This has ruined my life! Hope I recover soon."
