Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This pill was so hard on me physically and mentally. I had 0 health complications before getting on this pill. Within 1 month on the pill, I experienced: severe nausea, hot flashes, and sweating in my sleep every night, loss of appetite, constipation, complete loss of energy (I could not do ANYTHING, not even cook dinner, like my body just did not want to move). I was tired ALL the time. 3 months on the pill: EXTREME heart palpitations, my RESTING heart rate was 140. I had EXTREME anxiety, paranoia, depression, and suicidal thoughts that completely crippled me and made me homebound for a month. I went to the ER several times because I truly thought there was something seriously wrong with me. My glucose level went up to 200. I developed high blood pressure. I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience, I wasn't myself AT ALL. It took me 7 weeks after I quit the pill to go back to feeling normal."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Do not recommend this birth control, Elinest, it made me severely depressed to the point I had to receive help. I also had hot flashes, spotting, migraines, mood swings, acne, water retention, and nausea. I was only on it for 4 months, but that was enough time for me to completely lose myself. I hope this helps someone else going through the same roller coaster."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I was on Lo-Ogestrel and was very happy with it, but my doctor stopped carrying it and prescribed me Cryselle, saying it was the same thing. I've been on it for almost 6 months now and am just as happy as I was with Lo-Ogestrel. My period used to be really heavy and lasted a week before I was on birth control. Now it lasts 5 days and is pretty light to moderate depending on which day I'm on in my cycle, never heavy. No breakthrough bleeding, no crying jags, no acne, no weight gain. The only thing that happens to me is the first few days of a new pack, I get nauseous after taking the pill. But I get nauseous easily."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Endometriosis "I experienced increasing endometriosis pain for 4 years, which culminated in two months of extreme, continuous pain. I was reluctant to try anything that changed my hormones due to negative experiences with birth control in the past. I was given Low-Ogestrel when I went into the ER for the endometrial pain. I took it that night and woke up pain-free the next day! This one tiny pill gave me my life back. I was astounded. I had slight nausea for the first few days, but that subsided, and I have experienced no other side effects."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Cryselle is great! I've been taking it for about 3 months now and have been very happy with it. When I initially read the reviews on Cryselle back in May, I was nervous to take it since not many women had a positive experience with it, but went ahead and tried it anyway. My skin has been extremely clear, and my period is pretty comfortable. Cramps are very bearable, and the cycle itself only lasts a few days. I was a little nauseous the first day I took it in May, but it went away after a day. All birth controls react differently to each body, so don't be turned off by all the negative reviews on Cryselle! It's the best pill I've been on in years. Definitely worth a shot if you're on the fence, I couldn't be happier with it."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I’ve been using this medicine, Cryselle, for almost two months. I cry or I am mad 24/7. I’m also having really severe cramping, which didn’t start till around my 2nd or 3rd week of taking them. If I don’t eat, I get nauseous but don’t throw up. Also, my skin is breaking out like it’s never have before. It’s making me think I’m pregnant, which is making everything worse, but I’ve gotten my period, so I think I’m fine."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Been on this pill for about 6 months. Went on it for two reasons: 1) Irregular/missed periods 2) Contraceptive purposes. It has been very effective in regulating my periods. I get them on the third placebo pill every month, like clockwork. They used to be horribly painful, and I now only get occasional moderate or light cramping, with much lighter and shorter periods (3-4 days). So far, so good as a contraceptive. I am in a monogamous relationship, and therefore, this is my only means of protection. The only issue I've had is that it caused some nausea, particularly when I haven't been RIGHT on time with it (a few hours late or something). Overall, a very good pill."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I got put on Cryselle birth control about 2-3 weeks ago. My anxiety and depression have been so bad I constantly feel like something bad is going to happen. At first, I thought it was because of stress from other things. But, I'm also getting bad migraines every day, and around the same time every day, I feel nauseous and dizzy, like I'm going to throw up, but I don't. It's making me think I'm pregnant sometimes, which is making my anxiety so much worse."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control since I was a freshman in high school. I'm 19 now, and I'd have to say I've really had no problems. I started Low-Ogestrel 28 after having major problems with some others I tried out. You might have some nausea for the first few months, but it goes away once your body gets used to it. I had terrible heavy periods and hormonal acne, and it makes my period way more regular. I know the exact day and time my period will start every month, and they are shorter and lighter. Plus, I've been in a serious relationship for a long time where we don't use condoms, so I know it works, lol. 10/10"

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and had a chocolate cyst that was removed 6 months ago. However, excruciating pain and cramps persisted. I was so drained all the time and attributed it to my busy schedule. A month ago, I went to the OB-GYN because my cramps became daily. They found a lemon-sized cyst on the right ovary and told me to go on Cryselle for 4 months to shrivel it. Before I could start taking it, I had a horrible bout of pain, fever, nausea, and dizziness that felt like my endo symptoms. I think my cyst burst because the persistent pain was gone. Doc said to take Cryselle anyway. The first week, I got a few big pimples and expected to gain weight and be moody. It did the opposite, felt like my old self, energetic and happy!!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I've been on this medicine for 6 months. I gave it a 5 for the sole fact it does do its job in preventing pregnancy, and my periods have been overall shorter and lighter. However, starting this pill, I was miserable from extremely tender breasts, nausea, extreme emotions, and weight gain. I've been on birth control for 10 years and have never gained weight, but within 6 weeks of starting this pill, I gained 20 lbs. Because of that, and the fact that it makes me extremely emotional and/or moody, I will be stopping at the end of my current pack."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I've been taking this pill for two months, and right off, I got some bad side effects. I'm always tired and moody. I lose my appetite, or I'm just too nauseous to eat. I even have more freckles and got acne, which I didn't have before. The only good that came out of this pill is I get my period, and I lost weight."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This is the worst form of birth control I have ever been on. I gained 10 pounds in a month without changing my diet. I'm normally an anxious person and get hormonal around my period, but this pill intensified everything. I cried almost every day and got angry over stupid things, and I didn't have any anxiety-free moments throughout the day at all on this pill. Terrible headaches and nausea. I just got off of it, so I'm hoping it all goes away soon. I don't recommend this."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "At first, this pill was wonderful. I experienced, after a few months, that I was super depressed and sad over nothing. Mood swings constantly and stomach pains all the time on and off my cycle. I became so sad I started having horrible anxiety and then panic attacks on the regular. I cried one to two times weekly over nothing, and my relationship started to get sour because of the roller coaster moods. Severe headaches and nausea right after I stopped taking the pill for my cycle and cramps so horrible I couldn't stand. I was also so tired and had no sex drive. I was unable to enjoy an orgasm because it took so long for me to have one I would give up. I always had a high sex drive, this caused more sadness and anxiety for me. I went on the website and had every side effect at least once and decided it was time to get off the pill. This isn't how a young 24-year-old should feel. Please read the side effects asap and do not take this pill any longer if you start to have these same side effects."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "Breakthrough bleeding all month for almost two years, extreme irritability, to the point that I came here to read others' moods when on this drug. Also, the PMS symptoms last all month long. I am only level-headed when it's the week off. No sex drive, bloating, cramping, nausea, fatigue, and really greasy hair. I am going to ask for a new pill. I tried to stay on this pill, but it's bad in every way."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on many birth control pills as I am 35 years old. I had the least side effects with this one. No mood swings, no breakthrough bleeding, and no nausea. My doctor told me that this brand is no longer available. I hope this is not true. I am researching now."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This pill has made me so dizzy and lightheaded every single day, and given me the worst anxiety attacks! I have never had any health issues or issues with anxiety until I started this BC. I am dizzy and anxious sitting here typing this. It's the worst feeling. And due to the dizziness/lightheaded feeling, it sends my heart into overdrive and it starts pounding, then I get nauseous and have severe anxiety. I am glad I looked up the reviews before going to the ER, thinking I have some major brain issue going on because I have been so dizzy every. single. day. As of last night, I have stopped taking the pill. Pray this feeling goes away in the next few days so I can go back to being normal."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I have been on Cryselle for a year and 1 month, and I love it. I used to get the worst acne on my chin, but my face cleared up for the most part while on Cryselle. The first 1-2 weeks on it, I was kind of nauseated and threw up once in the first week. I was irritable a bit the first 2 weeks. And my first period on it was painful. I started Cryselle because I had unpredictable, painful periods, and it really has worked. My periods are light and only last 3-4 days. Almost no cramping, sometimes none. Plus, I know when I'm getting my period, and I'm able to make sure I am not on my period on important events. Plus, it has protected me from getting pregnant ever since I became sexually active. The first month is tough, after that, it's amazing!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for a month now due to unbalanced hormone levels. I wasn't getting my period (I got it 4 out of the 12 months in a year). My gynecologist made me double up on the pill, so it makes me extremely nauseous at times. I get horrible mood swings, and I've been breaking out, not badly though. Today was my 4th day on the sugar pill, and I finally got my period. It is very light, but I do have minor cramps."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "This was the generic brand my original BC was changed to. The 1st month or so I didn't notice any changes, but recently, about 3 months in, I've been getting headaches, horrible nausea, and stomach cramps, and my period has gone back to being longer than shorter like it was on the first pill. I've never been one to feel unmotivated, lethargic, depressed, or anxious, but as of recently, I've been experiencing all those things, which is no doubt making stress-induced nausea worse, and I have just generally felt bad. I went to my doctor and had multiple blood tests taken and some other tests, but all came back with no abnormalities, leading me to realize it was a change in birth control. Ups? Worked and no breast tenderness. But that's it."

I missed multiple periods, my boobs would swell, I would get nauseous and throw up, etc. I HATED Cryselle. I've never taken so many pregnancy tests in my life."

Ethinyl estradiol / norgestrel for Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for 7 months. The first 3 months were the worst as my body was adjusting, and I was so bipolar and nauseous. Now... it honestly worsened my acne from mild to moderate, painful cysts. No weight gain. But honestly, this pill has left me an emotional wreck. If I'm not angry, I am sad or easily irritated. Happiness is rare. And I break out even worse during my period in places I never even broke out before. Not the worst, but not the best. Definitely switching pill brands."
