For Birth Control "I was on TriNessa for a few months years ago and had a love/hate relationship with it. The pros were: clear skin, high sex drive, and very light periods, which was a plus for me. My main reason for birth control was heavy periods due to possible endo. The cons: extreme weight gain, constant headaches. My ob-gyn determined with the weight gain and frequent headaches that the hormones in this pill were too high, and triphasic pills seemed to give me headaches more often than not. I did much better on a consistent dose of low hormones. My pill at this time was switched to Microgestin 1/20. I lost all the water weight gain, and once my body detoxed from triphasic, the headaches and migraines lessened."

For Birth Control "After switching to TriNessa after years on Triprevefem without issue, I experienced side effects that were like every symptom of pregnancy. I started having unusual menstrual-like and lower abdominal cramps, indigestion, bloating, heartburn that did not go away. I thought I had gained 10 pounds. My breasts jumped at least a cup size. I was dizzy and exhausted with intense headaches despite getting plenty of rest. Pregnancy was a minuscule possibility because I had been using backup methods without fail. My period came a few days late, and I immediately switched back to Triprevefem. All of the symptoms went away except enlarged breasts, which I certainly can't complain about. My advice: pay out for brand name for some peace of mind and health."

For Acne "This is my third month into TriNessa. I can't say I hate it, and definitely can't say I love it. During my first 2 weeks, I experienced very awful breast tenderness (making roller coasters at the time not a pleasant experience), and some nausea and major headaches. My first period on this was a little hellish, but my periods before the pill were 8 long, heavy days. I was put on this pill for my acne. Before the pill, I always got acne before and after my period on my forehead (cystic), and when I started this pill, I started only getting whiteheads (which is doable). It's the week after my period, and for 3 long weeks, I've had awful cystic acne on my chin and forehead. I am planning to give the pill at least 3 more months."

For Birth Control "Used TriNessa for a little over a year. At the beginning, I was satisfied with this pill. Throughout time, I gained about 10 lbs. I've been really skinny my entire life and have difficulty gaining weight, so I was happy about that. My boobs grew too. I'm not prone to acne, but it helped keep my skin clear. Got headaches here and there, but nothing too severe. Eventually, I had to stop taking it because it gave me major depression and sad dark thoughts. I'm a happy person and didn't feel like my normal self at all. I also had 2 yeast infections during this time. Went back to my doctor and switched to Kariva."

"Altogether, TriNessa wasn't a bad option for me. The only issue I had with the pills is that every 6th day into a new pack, I would experience a horrible headache with an aura (blurred vision). My gyno claimed that had something to do with the amount of estrogen I already had in my body, and TriNessa just added even more, which resulted in this odd ocular migraine. Due to the headaches and their effect on my driving, school, and work, my gyno and I decided to give the NuvaRing a shot. I just started it, so I'll see how I feel on this. The pills always worked fine for me. I didn't experience any weight gain or mood swings. One thing that I did experience was a HUGE sex drive. My boyfriend could hardly keep up."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for over a month and love the results so far! At first, I had a lot of symptoms: headaches, nausea, etc., but it went away after a few days. It's effective and not too expensive."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control after being on the same one for 7 years. I changed because my other one was giving me extreme headaches when I went to the sugar pill. TriNessa has given me horrible breakouts, and I've always had really good skin. The main reason I will be switching is because of my horrible mood swings. I am annoyed and irate 24/7. It's horrible. I'm going to go back to a higher dosage of pills to get my hormones under control."

For Birth Control "This pill has been better than the last two brands I tried. I was on Tri-Sprintec for about a year, which I don't know why I put up with it that long. I wanted to throw up all the time! Second, I was on Tri-Previfem, which is also supposed to be the same pill, that one was even worse. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and made me gain weight, had even worse nausea, and worst of all, I acted like a monster! I was so irritated with everything. My doctor decided to have me try TriNessa, which all three of these pills are the same as Ortho Tri-Cyclen. This time, though, it actually worked. I feel back to myself again. I have been on it for about a year. I have had a little weight gain and sometimes slight headaches. But overall, I like it."

For Acne "I got it prescribed when I was 16 for my very hormonal acne (effective birth control was a nice bonus too, though). After about 2.5 months, my blotchy mess had become crystal-clear-as-ice skin. I was for 4 years, mostly very clear. Then I thought the problem was probably 'fixed,' and I went off it when I was 20. I thought it was giving me headaches too. Quitting was a nightmare. I had a 17-day period. Then it evened out to every 2 weeks. I started to break out like a volcanic range. I gained weight. I let this go on for 3 years, thinking it would stop. I finally decided I'd get back on it a month ago. My skin is so bad on the sides I wear '60s headscarves to hide it, but it's clearing up in other ways. So far, no headaches. Just nausea."

For Birth Control "I switched to Trinessa 28's last week of April, and I am very content! After the birth of my child in December, I tried the shot and it was the worst ever... I lost tons of hair and constantly bled almost the whole 3 months, mood swings, and the list goes on... Well, the first week of Trinessa I did get some headaches and a bit of nausea, but nothing I couldn't tolerate. I do take them at night before bed, which in my opinion is the best time! Within the first month, my mood swings were gone, I noticed hair growth and a reduction in hair loss. The first period was only 4 days and not too heavy, but maybe the 2nd day only. For me, Trinessa is wonderful and has worked wonders! And also no copay covered at 100% with my insurance!"

For Birth Control "I have irregular menstrual cycles. I've started taking Trinessa to help regulate my cycle. I am only on my 2nd week, but I don't like the side effects. I am nauseous all day, and it affects my mood shortly after taking it. I go from happy and productive to moody and sluggish. I also have headaches, muscle, and breast soreness. I have not stopped bleeding either. I have been spotting the entire time, and as I go along, it seems to get heavier. I was not expecting for it to start working to stop my elongated period immediately, but the all-day nausea and mood change is the worst. I will try to complete the month, but I am not sure if this is the option for me."

For Birth Control "I am 21 years old. I started TriNessa when I was 18 for birth control. The pill was wonderful, and I stayed on it for about 8 months or so. I stopped the pill for six months, but because my periods became irregular, I started the pill again. This time I've been on it the longest, probably a year and a half or 2. I think the last 6 months or so have been hell. I experienced cramping, bloating, and nausea starting in week 2 of the pill pack. Close to week 3, I had a series of migraines. The headaches were too much for me. I stopped the pills and am now on Loestrin 24 Fe. I just started week two, so I don't know how well these work. Overall, TriNessa is an effective pill. I think my body just got tired of it. I hope my review helps!"

For Birth Control "The birth control kept me from getting pregnant, so on that subject, it worked great. But, I had 3 severe side effects that really affected my quality of life. I was exhausted all of the time, no energy ever (after I stopped taking it, within 1 week I had energy again). I had intense headaches every day within an hour of taking this medicine, and I was very emotional. One moment nice, next moment sad, then mean. It has been a month since I took this birth control, and I feel like me again!!"

For Acne "The pill TriNessa is an excellent temporary acne treatment, but not for mental health. Each time the months pass, the bad side effects are aggravated as: headache, change of mood, gum disease, hair loss, weight gain, vaginal infection, and depression."

For Acne "I went back on birth control hoping to alleviate some of my acne (I'm 26), and the first month of being on Trinessa was terrible – headaches, nausea, heartburn – and now that I'm nearing the end of the second month, I'm experiencing weight gain all over – I can't fit into my bras, my waist is thicker, etc., and the acne is still present, although slightly better. I'm calling my doctor to see about switching brands."

For Birth Control "I've only been using TriNessa for a month. In the first couple of weeks, I experienced terrible headaches, but they started to subside later. The pill did reduce my cramping but increased my bitchiness! No help with acne, though!"

For Birth Control "I'm 36 years old. I used TriNessa Lo for 3 months for the purpose of birth control. I recently decided to stop taking it because I had so many side effects from it. The worst side effect that I experienced was daily nausea. It was as if I was feeling morning sickness all day long the entire time I was on the pill. The only time I had relief was when I was having my period. I could barely tolerate foods and drinks that I normally consume. I also experienced hypersensitivity to smell... certain smells (like air fresheners) made me feel sick. I also experienced occasional headaches and broke out with more acne than I have had in years. I also found that I felt significantly more depressed near the end of my cycle before my period started."

For Birth Control "Overall, it does what I need it to do. Prevents pregnancy! Although the mood swings I get from this birth control have pretty much ruined my relationship. I constantly get headaches, anxiety, nervousness, nausea, emotional as heck, and did I mention the mood swings!? That's the worst thing about it. One day I'm happy as can be, the next I'd rather be a mess on a half. I was on the IUD for 5 years and I never had these side effects. Although when it came time to come out, it grew into me and that was a mess. Then I turned to these pills for the past year, it's been horrible except that I haven't had an unwanted pregnancy. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't! I have one more month to go. Suggestions?"

For Birth Control "Started taking this to avoid getting pregnant. The first two weeks I had horrible headaches which would turn into migraines. I also started breaking out in acne everywhere. I have not had clear skin since high school, but now it's all over my face, chest, and back. Nothing helps to get rid of it. I drink plenty of water, use the usual creams and soaps, and still have acne in exactly the same places for the past month. Only plus is that my period is very light and only lasts four days."

For Birth Control "Yes, I only use this for birth control and has done its job well (no kids), but I have gotten horrible headaches. I'm definitely moody, irritable, and anxious. Switching to Loestrin. Hopefully, it will be a better fit. Was on Yaz before, but it messed up my gallbladder."

For Birth Control "This pill was low cost and extremely helpful for my poor complexion. However, I've gained weight, had daily headaches, and I've felt extremely dizzy after taking it for 4 months. There were benefits, but they did not outweigh the side effects for me."

For Birth Control "I've been taking TriNessa for about 4-5 months now, and it hasn't been too bad. It's the first birth control I've ever used. I never have had bad acne at all, but the first month I was on it, I had terrible acne, but that's normal, and now I'm seeing I get acne more the week before my period on this pill. Also, the first month and a half, I noticed I was getting depressed, but that went away. I've had a severe decrease in my sex drive to the point where I usually don't even want to masturbate, but it's kind of coming back 5 months later. I haven't tested out its effectiveness yet because of my low drive. Other than the low drive, I don't really have any problems with it, but if I forget to take it, I will get a headache until I take it."
