For Birth Control "I was switched to Trinessa by my new insurance and was told it was just a different generic for OTC Lo, which I had been on for about 3 years. Prior to the switch, I was recovering from anxiety and depression triggered by grad school. After switching, I spiraled down, and it took more than 6 months for me to put 2 and 2 together. The last 4 months, I was barely working 3-7 hours a week. I was suicidal. I was crawling out of my skin with anxiety. I was also getting treated by a psychiatrist and seeing a therapist weekly. I was doing everything I was supposed to, and it kept getting worse. One week off Trinessa, and I finally turned the corner. Still having bad days, but it is much more bearable. I'm now slowly starting to get my life back."

For Birth Control "Been on TriNessa for over a year and just within the last six months, everything has changed. The week before my period, I usually got mood swings, depression, anxiety, acne, back pain. But this month has so far been the worst. For Birth Control "I have been on Trinessa in the past for acne, and it had worked beautifully. I went off of it for 2 years and just got back on and am on pack 2. Unfortunately, I am having a terrible time adjusting. I spotted (or straight up just bled) for the entire first pack. I am struggling with anxiety and random panic attacks and constantly feel depressed. I'm also breaking out in hives. I've been taking the pill at night, and like clockwork, I break out just shortly after I take the pill."

For Birth Control "Oh my God, I wish they could take this off the market! I'm 3 weeks in on TriNessa after being on Trisprintec for 5 years (ran out of refills and was put on TriNessa before the doctor could get me in). I have experienced terrible anxiety and thoughts of depression. I have never felt this way in my life... I'm so happy, but it is astonishing. One moment I start to feel down and sad... FOR NO REASON. Also, my acne has gotten worse. One more week and I'm back to Trisprintec, thank God!!"

For Birth Control "I took Lessina birth control, but my acne got very bad, and my doctor put me on TriNessa. My acne started clearing away immediately when I started. I get terrible mood swings and nausea. The nausea would hit me in the morning and last anywhere from a few minutes to hours. Sometimes the nausea is so bad I have to leave work. I've been diagnosed with moderate depression/anxiety since starting this medication. Overall, this birth control is okay. My periods are light and last anywhere from 4 to 6 days. Cramping is mild/moderate. I haven’t gained any weight being on this birth control, and my skin looks great. After getting prescribed sertraline, I feel like it’s helped my mood swings/depression a lot."

For Birth Control "I am going to start by saying that every birth control works differently on every body and gene type, but I can say that TriNessa is showing me how horrible birth control can be. I started taking birth control when I was 15 and have been using TriNessa since then. This was my first birth control. I was okay for the first 3 years of my life, acne great, no weight gain, no irregular bleeding, but my period was heavy and my mood swings were absolutely insane. From having serious depression to anxiety about everything. For the past two years now, I have been starting to gain weight as I am 20. I have put on at least 20 pounds and still have depression and anxiety. I just went off of it today and hope I can be myself again."

For Birth Control "I've been taking TriNessa for about 5 months, and I've never been such a miserable person in my life. I developed severe depression, mood swings, anxiety, and fatigue. For Acne "Don't do it. I went on this birth control because I was sexually active and I wanted something that would also minimize my breakouts. I would typically get a pimple a month. Towards the last week of taking this pill, my face broke out worse than it ever has. I had thousands of pimples. It was a mixture of small pimples, which are called comedo, and big cystic pimples along my jawline. I read reviews saying that you have to stay on the pills for at least three months, then things will balance out. I took the pill for another month, and things started to get even worse. I was so depressed and anxious. I stopped after my second pack, and my face immediately started to improve. If you're not reacting well, just stop, don't wait. I'm now on Lo Loestrin Fe."

For Birth Control "Overall, it does what I need it to do. Prevents pregnancy! Although the mood swings I get from this birth control have pretty much ruined my relationship. I constantly get headaches, anxiety, nervousness, nausea, emotional as heck, and did I mention the mood swings!? That's the worst thing about it. One day I'm happy as can be, the next I'd rather be a mess on a half. I was on the IUD for 5 years and I never had these side effects. Although when it came time to come out, it grew into me and that was a mess. Then I turned to these pills for the past year, it's been horrible except that I haven't had an unwanted pregnancy. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't! I have one more month to go. Suggestions?"

For Acne "No problems with the effectiveness of the contraceptive in terms of pregnancy. However, I broke out all over my face with acne for the first time in my life, and I'm 23. I've also had heightened feelings of depression and anxiety that I've never experienced before since taking TriNessa Lo."

For Birth Control "Yes, I only use this for birth control and has done its job well (no kids), but I have gotten horrible headaches. I'm definitely moody, irritable, and anxious. Switching to Loestrin. Hopefully, it will be a better fit. Was on Yaz before, but it messed up my gallbladder."

For Birth Control "I started taking this medication primarily for birth control and acne treatment. My experience while on this medication has been fair. It has done a good job preventing pregnancy so far. It didn't really do anything to improve my acne, and I still get the hormonal acne along the jawline. I also feel extra tired, brain fogged, and very moody at times. I also felt more anxious, depressed after beginning it and even had to start taking antidepressants because of it. The only reason I'm still taking it is that the side effects are somewhat manageable and it has prevented pregnancy so far."
