For Birth Control "The Tri-Sprintec birth control worked for me for 7 years. It lessened my periods and the cramps that came with them. It cleared up my skin, and I never once got pregnant! My sex drive has been lower as of late, so I'm exploring other options, but that's kind of just the game you play with hormonal birth control. The point is I know Tri-Sprintec doesn't work for everyone, but it worked well for me, and I would recommend it."

For Birth Control "I can't believe it took me this long to realize my birth control might be the culprit! I had been on Ortho and TriNessa until it was discontinued. I was put on Tri-Sprintec after I stopped breastfeeding my son for a year, and ever since I was put back on birth control, I thought I had been losing my mind! Severe mood swings, high anxiety, and depression. Let's just say my sex drive is non-existent! It has been bothering me for a year, and I finally thought to myself to look into the side effects of Tri-Sprintec, and WOW! We are all in the same boat. I scheduled my appointment to look at other options! Thank you all for sharing your story."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for just over 3 months, and I am having the WORST side effects. My hair has been falling out constantly, my mood swings are absolutely insane, I have no sex drive, my anxiety has been through the roof, and I feel very depressed (I also feel very bad for my husband trying to deal with me like this). I finally just had to stop taking it!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for the past 6 years, I had only went up a cup size, and that was perfectly fine. I never had a problem with it, and thankfully never got pregnant. But due to the stupid Obamacare changes, the insurance forced my doctor to give me Tri-Sprintec. I've only been taking it for the past 2 months, and it has been hell! I have gained 20 lbs in the first 2 months! I went from being a 34DD to a 36DDD, and I count calories, and I am an avid gym-goer! I'm already near 30, and losing weight is especially hard when you're at or past 30! And along with that, I ended up having a low libido, ridiculous amounts of fatigue (like wanting to fall asleep standing up), vaginal dryness, constant calf muscle cramps, depressive moods. Do not take!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking Tri-Sprintec because the pharmacy I switched to no longer carried Tri-Previfem. My first month was fine, no changes. However, my second month on the pill, I went through a super tampon! Normally, I barely go through a light. My cramps are horrible, and I have a headache that just won't quit. My libido is also way the hell down from where it used to be. The only good news is my acne is slightly better during PMS. I am completely miserable. After I finish this pack, I am switching."

For Acne "I've been on this pill for 9 days and gained 6 lbs. Breast tenderness, low libido, apathy, irritability, aggression, exhaustion, and clumsiness. I'll try it for the month and hope the side effects go away."

For Birth Control "This is the worst medication I have ever taken. I have bled for 3 months straight, have been nauseous EVERY SINGLE DAY, have had the worst mood swings that it almost split up my and my fiancé, and to beat it all, I haven’t had a sex drive because I can't have sex because of bleeding for 3 months!!! Literally, I have gone through about 5 boxes of tampons (the big kind too). Don’t try it. It’s not worth the complete hell."

For Birth Control "I got on this med due to breakthrough bleeding and periods on my last med (Ortho-Tri-Cyclen). So far, I've had no issues with bleeding. But I've been nauseous every time I take it, with a headache almost daily, more depressed and anxious. I feel angry a lot of the time, and my sex drive is almost completely gone. I get shooting pains through my right ovary and recently took a trip to the ER due to unbearable tearing pains in my ovaries. Needless to say, I'm not going to continue this med. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't suggest this one if you don't want to vomit almost daily."

For Birth Control "Works pretty well as birth control, but I take it mainly for period regulation. It does well with that too. I don't mind the weight gain or the fact that I am constantly eating/snacking since I'm pretty active and my metabolism surprisingly keeps up with my cravings. The most interesting thing I noticed was actually an increase in my sex drive. Usually the opposite, right? But this stuff makes me want to do it all the time! I stopped it for a month because it was making me way too emotional, I would cry literally every morning at work. But then I noticed a decrease in sexual desire and extreme difficulty getting an orgasm (with my boyfriend and by myself). Needless to say, I went right back to taking them. Small price to pay for an amazing sex life."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for about 4 months before switching to its generic version (Tri-Sprintec), so in total, I've been on the pill for 8 months. There are a couple of side effects I've had: weight gain, vaginal dryness. My sex drive is at an all-time low, and my hormones used to drive me crazy. I have problems with depression and anxiety, but I do believe it stabilized that and helped just a bit. It's cleared up my cystic acne somewhat. That's all I can think of for the side effects. I take the bad with the good, and the whole point of taking it was for acne and avoiding pregnancy, and it's doing a great job at the avoiding pregnancy thing! I would probably recommend."

For Birth Control "I am absolutely miserable on this birth control. I’m 21 and have been trying to give my body time to adjust to it, however, I’m going on month 3, and I’m ready to call my doctor and switch BC. Insomnia is terrible, I never had this issue before. Besides that, I spend more of my week being nauseous than not nauseous. I throw up at least twice a week due to this birth control. I have constant headaches and absolutely no sex drive whatsoever. Also, the mood swings are through the roof. I cannot wait to feel normal again!!!"

For Birth Control "I had been on Tri-Cyclen Lo with no issues until it was discontinued, and Planned Parenthood switched me to Tri-Sprintec. Initially, I only experienced some spotting and worsened hormonal acne. However, after about 2-3 months, I gained 20-25 pounds, and after 7 months, it began to affect my libido, leaving me with little to no sex drive. Additionally, I started experiencing severe PMDD and PMS symptoms. A week before my period, I would become moody and emotional, and a few days before my period, it would worsen. My mood swings were all over the place, despite being on a low-dose oral contraceptive before switching to Tri-Sprintec. I recently switched from Tri-Sprintec to Aubra EQ a few days ago, and we'll see how it goes with this new birth control."

For Birth Control "Nope, never again. Worst month of my life. Nausea, cramping, random bleeding, irritable-not just irritable. I had a mental breakdown and felt like I wanted to kill myself because I was frustrated trying to pick an outfit to wear (not typical, usually, I don't care at all). All this within two weeks of starting the medication. I stuck through a month and couldn't handle the negative emotional side effects. One more thing: LOW LIBIDO. There was no point in being on this because I didn't want a thing to do with sex while taking it anyway. This pill can ruin a relationship. NO THANKS."

For Birth Control "I started taking Tri-Sprintec as my first birth control. I needed something that was going to take away my nausea and vomiting when it came time for my period to start. It did just that. But now I'm nauseous all the time, I have terrible cramps all of the time. I have terrible, terrible mood swings. Not to mention the weight gain, and my boobs got bigger. Now the boobs getting bigger part isn't bad, it's painful when your breasts are just really tender all of the time. Not to mention sex became painful while taking this. I do not recommend this drug. I've been taking it for 3 months now, and I hate it. 3 months of pure suck. I'll definitely be getting a different pill at my next appointment."

For Birth Control "I've taken this BC for 5 years and absolutely loved it, but have noticed that within the past two years I've had no sex drive whatsoever and cannot get wet. If it wasn't for those side effects, I would keep taking it, but I'm changing to a new BC to hopefully fix that."

For Birth Control "Even though this birth control clears your skin really well, it's the worst birth control, it lowers your sex drive and causes dryness (which made it painful to have sex)... I was on it for a month, and I was already experiencing the side effects... I stopped taking it after a month, and it took a while for the side effects to go away..."

For Birth Control "My gyn prescribed Tri-Sprintec to help alleviate my bad cramps. The first week was okay, I experienced a bit of nausea, but luckily I never had any vomiting. By the second week, everything had gone downhill. I started experiencing cramps daily, backache, fatigue, increased anxiety, and dizziness. A couple of times, I felt my heart rate increase, but it didn't last long. The cramps and backache were so bad that I went to the hospital thinking that I had appendicitis! I told my gyn, and she advised me to finish the pack, and then I didn't have to take them anymore. However, the dizziness was so bad for me that I didn't take the last two active pills. I also experienced vaginal dryness, which caused painful sex, as well as a loss of sexual interest. Today would have been my last active pill for the pack, and while I'm still feeling a little dizzy and even having some slight vision blurring (kind of like dry or tired eyes), I feel better than I have the past two weeks."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 8 months now after being switched over from Tri-Cyclen, which I was on for over a year. Unfortunately, Tri-Sprintec has really messed with my day-to-day mood. I'm easily irritated, lack motivation, and am constantly depressed. I tried convincing myself that it would get better the next month and the next month, but here I am, 8 months later and same symptoms. I have little to no sex drive, and because I'm easily irritable, I find myself pushing my boyfriend away. Will be looking into different pills or other methods of contraception, this is definitely not for me."

For Birth Control "This is my 3rd month since starting Tri-Sprintec. It took me 2 months to realize that this pill has serious side effects. If you're on it, beware: it can cause extreme vaginal dryness, which leads to very painful intercourse. It also has decreased my sex drive - I literally never feel like having sex, and it takes very long for me to feel any arousal. Track yourself as you take it, and especially pay attention when you're on the 4th week white pill, as these have no medicine and you can identify what exactly the pill does to you. This is how I realized my side effects, the dryness would basically disappear in the fourth week."

For Birth Control "I was on this for 4 years (since I was 18). I had no sex drive, I was drier than a desert in Arizona in August... and I would get massive canker sores around my period, dime-sized ones... I could barely open my mouth. It did help my horrible cramps, though the first period off this brand was hell, even if it only lasted a day... spent most of the day vomiting. Haven't had a single canker sore since going off this brand. Starting a new low-dose brand soon."

For Birth Control "I had been on Trinessa since I was 19 and am now 23. I was switched to Tri-Sprintec because my pharmacy only carried that for generic. I figured I'd give it a try since the hormone levels were the same as Trinessa, and I had no problems whatsoever on Trinessa. Well, for the last 6 months, I've been excessively irritable, and I've never cried so much in my life. My already C cups have gone up to a DD. I have absolutely no sex drive, and it's starting to affect my relationship. I don't want to do anything anymore but sit on the couch and sleep. I also have been getting really bad cramps and abdominal pains, not just during my period but all the time! I'm switching back."

For Acne "BEWARE, and know what may be coming if you use this long-term. I started in high school and remained on this pill for five years, and after the initial first three months of a nightmarish life (crying all the time, moody, suicidal), this pill worked beautifully for me. I had no acne, I never got pregnant (although I was having unprotected sex), I had no lowered sex drive, and I could function perfectly. Little to no negative side effects after the initial horrible ones. However, five years later when I stopped taking this pill, I had a complete mental breakdown. Any semblance of stability and respect I had for myself was gone, and I was no longer a rational person. It was very scary, and I truthfully feel like this pill made it so I was not myself after a while."

For Birth Control "I have been on this brand not a whole year now, and I have experienced mood changes, and my sex drive is down the drain. The thought of sex is not appealing at all. I have noticed when I take the pill at night before bed, I instantly have cravings, but luckily I'm able to control it to avoid weight gain. The only best thing from this experience is not getting pregnant, which I have no sex drive, like I'd mentioned. In my opinion, no birth control is perfect or good for you physically or mentally, but we all need something to help to avoid pregnancy."
