For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for about 9 months. In the spring, I started back on this birth control after taking a break for a while. In May, I started having migraines. Previously, I had random headaches, but they were nothing Excedrin couldn't handle. After getting back on this BC, I had migraines the week of my cycle. I had extreme migraines to the point where I had to go to the doctor and get a shot. I was given a prescription (pills and shots I could give myself). My prescription ran out, and I waited a couple of months until I could return to my permanent home and go to the gyno. While I was off this medicine-no migraines. Just started back a few days ago and I'm nauseous, experiencing headaches, and emotional again."

For Birth Control "This medication is hell in a pack. I urge everyone to PLEASE do not take this. I ended up with severe depression and anxiety all over again, the nausea and vomiting was ridiculous and the yeast infections—my god. I had a yeast infection probably the whole time on this pill. I vomited so much from these pills that I lost 12 pounds in about 2 weeks one time. The mood swings were so sad also. I didn’t realize this was all from the pill until my doc switched me to Tri-Sprintec for insurance reasons. Please don’t take this!!!!! It’s horrible on your body!!!! The only good thing was that I had absolutely no acne!"

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control from when I was 13 to 17 and never really had any issues. The first month, I had spotting every day, but it went away after my first period. I did experience weight gain, but that was due to diet changes and eating disorder recovery. I didn't experience any mood swings either. This was the first birth control I had experienced, and I loved it way more than the IUD that I currently have."

For Birth Control "I could not recommend this birth control any less. Yes, it worked for preventing pregnancy, and it made my period regular, but this stuff made me crazy. I had horrible mood swings, it affected my sleep, I gained weight, lost my appetite, and even lost the desire to have sex. I would rather abstain from sex than take this stuff anymore. I wouldn't recommend this stuff."

For Birth Control "I took this for 4 months. I had just gotten off of Orsythia, and that gave me terrible depression and anxiety throughout my menstrual cycle. This pill, however, did the same, BUT only for the 1st week. I thought for a bit that it was a fair trade-off for not getting pregnant. So I'll shorten this and make some pros and cons. Pros: Extremely regular period (I was before I took BC, however), only 4 days long (used to be 7-9), libido stayed the same, NO ACNE (a little breakout nearing period). Cons: Very bad memory problems (I'd forget what I was saying mid-sentence, and I usually keep track of things extremely well), I still had cramps, anxiety, self-image issues, worse vision, gained a bit of weight, very manic (very very happy or very very sad)."

For Birth Control "After using Tri-Previfem for roughly 2 years, I am switching birth control brands. I originally went on it to control my horrible acne, which it helped quite a bit, but definitely not 100%. I also noticed a dramatic increase in mood swings, lows being very low. My period lasts a normal amount of time, cramps are minimal. It definitely lowered my sex drive. I didn’t gain or lose any weight on it. I also noticed that if I accidentally skip a day of BC, my acne almost immediately flares up again. As for contraception, it’s very effective. I’m ultimately switching BC due to the absurd mood swings."

For Acne "I began taking this birth control, Tri-Previfem, my freshman year of high school in hopes it would clear up my awful acne. The first three months were awful! My acne did get worse, and I was extremely insecure. However, by my sophomore year, I had the clearest skin ever and always received compliments. That being said, I did become extremely moody and irritable and gained around 15 lbs in a year. However, I am now a first-year college student, and I don't know if it's my body or the birth control, but now I experience period symptoms the entire week before my period and after, in which I'm extremely bloated, emotional, depressed, I get headaches, my skin doesn't seem to be as clear, and my appetite has gotten worse. I also am now getting yeast infections during my period, which sucks. I plan on switching birth control after this month."

For Birth Control "Been on this BC for a year and a half. This was the first BC I've ever taken. I'm 22, and it works really well for me. I never had a regular period, and this gave me a period the first week of every month, like clockwork. No nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or mood swings. No pregnancy scare ever (I take it at the same time every day). The only thing is I've gained about 10 pounds within this last year, but not sure if it's because of BC."

For Birth Control "I was on this for three years. It was very effective in preventing pregnancy, but the side effects are not worth it! No sex drive, mood swings, and anxiety. Stay away!"

For Birth Control "This birth control is horrible. I have almost every side effect possible. Mood swings, depression, weight gain, no sex drive. Please do your research before getting on birth control pills."

For Ovarian Cysts "Orthotricyclen is pretty bad, but this is the worst generic of it. As soon as my pharmacy switched to giving me this instead of Trisprintec, my side effects dramatically increased. I gained weight, had horrible mood swings, and even had a blood clot in my leg from this pill! It nearly killed me! It's claimed that generics are all the same, but that can't be true for birth control pills. Tri-Previfem is the worst! Do not take it if your pharmacy forces you to switch!"
