"It has been great for me. I use it for both birth control and irregular menstrual bleeding. I had no cycle for 3 months. After taking it for a month, I got my period-no side effects. I am also taking spironolactone to help with fertility. I have full coverage, so my insurance covers everything. If you have issues where you have to visit the gyno frequently, I would suggest getting full coverage health insurance."

"I had a lot of stomach pains for over a month. I didn't get pregnant and had a normal period, but such severe stomach pains, along with an occasional headache, I had to switch to a lower hormone, so I'm using 'Gildess.' Now I'm sad the only side effect I seemed to have was stomach pain. But it was very persistent."

"I started taking this medicine because my insurance wouldn't cover Ortho Tricyclen. This is only my second month, but I'm done - severe migraine throughout my period, tension headaches the rest of the time, and terrible over-bleeding, a problem I've never had with any other birth control."

"I took this birth control, Tri-Previfem, for 8 years. I just got switched today after talking to my OB/GYN and realizing that it was causing anxiety, depression, low sex drive, headaches, and extreme mood swings the week before my period. I thought it was all normal or just me, but she said it was the medicine. I have now been switched to Mili. It did regulate my periods, but I would have 7-9 days of fairly heavy bleeding each month, which is not supposed to be a thing. Very effective in preventing pregnancies, as I have not been pregnant while taking it."

"I have been taking this birth control for 6 months, and I have finally decided to stop taking it. Although it did help eliminate my acne, regulate my cycle, and prevent pregnancy, the cons outweigh the pros for me. At first, I didn't really experience too many negative side effects, but as time has gone on, I have become severely depressed, moody, and unmotivated. I am constantly tired and have become extremely forgetful about even simple things. I have become overly anxious and paranoid. I did have anxiety at times before the pill, but it was never this bad. My breasts are constantly sore, and I have absolutely no sex drive anymore. None at all. I know it's this pill causing this, and I need to stop taking it so I can feel like myself again."

"I started taking this pill when I was 16. I am now 20. The pill started out fine, and I loved it for the past 3 years, but this last year is different. Starting the pill, it cleared my acne up very well. I only gained maybe 10 lbs at most, but that's as well as growing up and fitting into my body. The pill has worked great for birth control. It has made me have a regular, light 3-4 day period every month. Rarely any cramps, too. But this past year, I have been noticing a few different side effects. My cramping is getting worse with each period, I started spotting more monthly, and during my period, I get severe migraines. Stopping the pill for a month to see if my headaches get better."

"Horrible. No sex drive. My feet swelled up so much that they looked like balloons, and it was painful to walk. Don’t get me started on the mood swings. I stopped taking it and felt better a few days later. My feet weren’t swollen anymore either."

"Within the first couple of months of taking this pill, I gained 15 pounds. Then after taking it for around 3 months, it began causing me to get a yeast infection after my period for 4 months straight. However, I continued taking it in hopes it would level out. It soon did, and I have now lost the weight I gained, my face has cleared almost completely (I had terrible breakouts all over), and (knock on wood) I have not gotten any more yeast infections. I now have no problems with it, and I take it every day at the same time, so I also have not had to worry about pregnancy scares. The only side effect I notice from it now is that it has really increased my sex drive."

"I started taking this pill due to mild acne and discomfort during menstruation-namely cramps and bloating. My acne has noticeably improved, as has my cramping! My periods are finally regular and predictable, with less bleeding! The main side effect I have dealt with is nausea during the first week of the pills, which is usually remedied by taking a Tums or a mint. I have not experienced any weight gain or decrease in sex drive."

"Tried 3 different birth controls over the past year and finally felt like this one worked. It fixed my bleeding problems and regulated my cycle. Month by month I started noticing the nausea getting worse and worse. Now, after 4 months on this pill, I've decided to stop taking it because it makes me sick as a dog. My breasts are tender almost all of the time, and my sex drive has basically vanished. Wish there was something out there that worked for me, but this is definitely not it."

"I started with Sprintec, and it seemed fine. Then they switched to Previfem. I have horrible vaginal discharge almost every day, I have cramps sometimes almost as bad as before I went on the pill. My period lasts just as long as before, 5 days, and is still super heavy. I do have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and haven't gotten pregnant yet, so that's a plus. More cons: more emotional, sometimes chest pain, nausea. I'm ready to quit. Only pro: can predict when the period is coming and not being pregnant."

"Love Tri-Previfem! The first week, I'll have to admit, it made me pretty nauseous, I actually lost a few pounds. But after that first week, I've been fine. So far, I haven't gained any weight, it actually seems to curb my cravings, which is great! Also, my sex drive has been wonderful! I haven't had any crazy mood swings or bouts of depression, and my breasts have grown a whole cup size (again, without weight gain anywhere else!). All in all, I really love this BC, I was on Nuvaring before this, and it made me completely nuts."

"This is the 3rd brand I've ever tried after having horrible side effects from the first two. For a while, this pill really worked for me, and I thought I finally found my brand. But a lot of little things like rapid heart rate, headaches, and frequent infections I finally linked to this. I never got pregnant, and it regulated my periods well. But eventually, my body started rebelling against this pill, and it wasn't worth it."

"The first month of this pill, I had breakthrough bleeding basically the whole month. I also had this terrible stomach feeling. The second month, I had no bleeding and no weird stomach feelings. I just switched off to a lower dose pill due to my breasts growing 2 sizes and being extremely swollen (I was already a D, I didn't want them any bigger!) and also I lost my sex drive completely. Happy to have had no emotional changes at all (in fact, I felt happier). Overall, this pill wasn't as terrible as all the reviews I've read made it out to be, but everyone is different."

"This was my first birth control pill. The first month, I had some light spotting, which is expected when starting most pills. I've now been on the pill for three months, I've experienced some weight gain but nothing drastic. My breasts have gotten larger, and occasionally in the week before my period, I am easily irritated. It has lessened the acne I get before my period as well, but has not made it completely disappear. No change in sex drive and no crazy mood swings or depression. I am only switching to a lower hormone dose pill because in the last month of taking this, I had a huge psoriasis flare, and I know that it's from the pill because I never had it before taking it, and it cleared as soon as I started the placebos."

"I've been on this pill for roughly 6-7 months now, and at first, everything was going great. The past month or so, however, I've had the most horrible anxiety, panic attacks, and irritability ever. Even more recently, I've had nausea to the point where I'm throwing up periodically through the night. My anxiety was so bad, I was having so many negative thoughts and didn't have the motivation to do much anymore. I couldn't come up with any other explanation until I thought about my birth control. I'm stopping immediately and will be seeing my doctor soon to switch pills, hopefully!"

"I'm 28, no children. I've been on this birth control for about 5 years and have just one complaint - it gives me high blood pressure. High BP runs in my family, so I am switching from this birth control to another one. Apart from the high BP, this birth control has been fantastic. My skin has never looked better, I didn't gain weight, nor did I experience mood swings. Occasionally, I had spotting between periods, but it was never anything that disrupted me. I know everyone is different, but my experience was great."

"I am on day 3 of this pill, and I felt awful the whole time. I constantly feel like I'm going to throw up after I take it, which makes it difficult for me to sleep. I already have some anxiety, but this birth control is making it to where I can't sleep, and once I do sleep, I can't stay asleep. I just lay in bed feeling hot, nauseous, and like I'm going to die. My anxiety is just getting so bad I will probably stop taking this medication."

"This has been the worst pill ever. I have been bleeding for 13 days, and it has not stopped yet. I had to go to my OB-GYN for evaluation and was told to stop taking them right away. I start my new pill, Tri-Sprintec, next. I have taken that for seven years and never had a problem with it. The only reason it got switched is because the pharmacy told me it was the generic."

"This birth control worked fine for the first 3 months I was on it. But then I started getting large, vicious acne on my face, which is super unusual for me! I never had a problem with acne, not even in middle or high school. So horrible that now that I'm in college, I am having to deal with near cystic acne. Not to mention the horrible, severe depression that I suffered from and am still trying to overcome after being off this pill for about 2 weeks. It almost ended my year-long relationship. However, my boyfriend and I never had protected sex, and I never had a pregnancy scare. But, I will say that the pill is different for everyone!!"

"I have been taking this birth control for about 9 months. In the spring, I started back on this birth control after taking a break for a while. In May, I started having migraines. Previously, I had random headaches, but they were nothing Excedrin couldn't handle. After getting back on this BC, I had migraines the week of my cycle. I had extreme migraines to the point where I had to go to the doctor and get a shot. I was given a prescription (pills and shots I could give myself). My prescription ran out, and I waited a couple of months until I could return to my permanent home and go to the gyno. While I was off this medicine-no migraines. Just started back a few days ago and I'm nauseous, experiencing headaches, and emotional again."

"This medication is hell in a pack. I urge everyone to PLEASE do not take this. I ended up with severe depression and anxiety all over again, the nausea and vomiting was ridiculous and the yeast infections—my god. I had a yeast infection probably the whole time on this pill. I vomited so much from these pills that I lost 12 pounds in about 2 weeks one time. The mood swings were so sad also. I didn’t realize this was all from the pill until my doc switched me to Tri-Sprintec for insurance reasons. Please don’t take this!!!!! It’s horrible on your body!!!! The only good thing was that I had absolutely no acne!"

"I never had a problem with birth control until I switched from the brand Ortho-Tricyclen to Tri-Previfem. It was okay for the first month of use, but after that, I found that this medication caused me to have heightened anxiety, loss of appetite, and even nausea. Bottom line: I'm switching back to what I was on before because of these side effects!"

"I have been on this birth control for almost three years. No pregnancy scares, no side effects, regulated my period, and I had intense cramps for the four years I was on my period before I started taking this. Sick the entire week, couldn't walk and puking every day. And since I've taken this birth control, I have had cramps probably twice."
