"I personally do not like this pill. This is my second month of being on it. The first month was good, like normal. I noticed that my period was a day later than usual and that my period cramps were worse than before (I struggle with severe cramps at least 2 times a year). The moment I started my second month on this pill, all hell broke loose. Day 2, Monday, I felt so sick and had a massive headache that no matter what I took would not leave. Day 3, I still felt so sick to my stomach and still had a headache. I had to get Excedrin just to ease the headache. Since I started my second month, I have noticed: weight gain/bloating, sore breasts, more sensitivity to touch, headaches, no appetite, nausea, depression, no motivation, and lack of sex drive. After this month, I'm going back to my original pills, Falmina, I don't care if I have to pay for them. I would rather pay $14 than feel like rubbish every day. Take this pill at your own risk."

"If I would have stayed on this medication for a few years, I would have developed Crohn's disease. Being on this birth control killed my sex drive, gave me acne that I never had before, and completely ruined my upper GI while on it. If I were to go drink a beer, I would immediately throw it up. I had intense stomach pains every day while on this and constantly felt nauseated. My quality of life went down so much, and my depression and anxiety increased to the point where panic attacks were somewhat frequent. Quitting this birth control was the best thing I did for myself. It ruined me for so long. Hate this stuff so much."

"I am on Tri-Previfem, and it's been about 7 weeks, and I've already consulted with my doctor to change birth control. Overall, my experience on Tri-Previfem was awful. I bled the entire first month, and now, on my second month, it's causing me to have painful intercourse."

"I have been on this birth control, Tri-Previfem, for several years now and have never experienced any bad side effects. My periods are always on time, no heavy bleeding, my sex drive has not decreased, no weight gain or acne. This is the only birth control that I will use. Highly recommended!"

"I'm getting close to my sixth month on this birth control, and I have some good and some bad things to say about it. My acne has cleared up a lot, and my periods are lighter. On the contrary, I get my period about 4 days early. My breasts have gotten much larger and are constantly in pain. I also feel extremely depressed. This pill is free, which is really nice, but I'm thinking about trying to switch to a pill that doesn't make me feel so down all of the time."

"I'm 19 years old and started taking this birth control after my first one worked perfectly for a few months, until I began to get my period every 8 days. I've been on this pill for about two weeks, and I already hate it. I'm constantly moody, depressed, and overly emotional. It's affecting my relationship with my family, friends, and boyfriend. It doesn't help with acne, I've never had acne until I began taking this. I also have severe pain every day in my lower stomach area."

"Absolute worst side effects I've ever experienced. Depression and aggression are now a part of my everyday life. I've been on this for 3 months. I'm late every month, which never happened before. I'm a newlywed, and my sex life is almost non-existent. My period is light, and I barely have cramps. I have not gotten pregnant. It isn't worth it. This sadness and self-induced seclusion are terrible. I'll be burning my pack tonight."

"Well, I see a lot of people saying they get nauseous in the first few days of starting birth control. That's normal. But every time I start a pack or miss by a few hours, I'm awful nauseous. I've not gotten pregnant, so that's good. Ever since I started this pill, I've had ovary/vagina pains. But I'm not sure if it is an ovarian cyst or if it's something different or if it just happened not related to the pill. I've got bad anxiety now and cry a lot. I was never like this before, but now I am. This isn't a bad pill, though. Works differently for everyone. The plus side is I used to have cramps to where I would cry. It would hurt so bad. Now I have about none, and my period is lighter."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. I was prescribed the name brand of this medicine, and my insurance decided that they would give me Tri-Previfem instead. For the first 3 or so months, things were fine, no big differences. After that, though, goodness gracious. Anxiety, depression, mood swings, NO SEX DRIVE, dryness 'down there,' no matter how bad I wanted to be. It's absolutely a horrible feeling not being able to be ready for your partner, and that puts such a stress on a relationship. On the menstrual time...... picture every horrible pregnancy symptom you could possibly have, triple it, and add to it the normals of your regular period. HEADACHES. If only the 1-10 scale had negative numbers. Save yourselves and stay away from this medicine."

"I've had a great experience with this pill! I've been taking this for 7 months now and have seen little to no side effects like others are claiming. My periods are regular, only 4-5 days a month, and I know exactly when they're coming! Also, I haven't gotten pregnant, which is a plus. Helped with my acne a lot, and although my severe cramps are not completely diminished, Advil does the trick - definitely made a difference!"

"I took this birth control for 2 months. Worked well for birth control. Weight was stable. No acne or mood swings. I did, however, have an extreme amount of vaginal discharge all month long when my period was not on. So much so, I am switching to another birth control."

"I have been on this birth control for about three months and have decided to stop taking the pill. I have had major mood swings while taking this pill, as well as being nauseated and just not feeling well. The pill is effective as a birth control, but the side effects were not worth having."

"Even though this pill worked as intended to prevent pregnancy, I wouldn't recommend it based on the side effects I experienced. I had been on Sprintec for about a year (which I love) when there was a mix-up at the drug store and I got this instead. I decided to stick with it for three months to see if the symptoms cleared, and they did not. My period lasted longer than usual, and I experienced crippling pain during it. I started to break out in acne on my face and body, and I was having a difficult time controlling my emotions, and I became upset all the time. Do yourselves a favor and just use Sprintec!!"

"I started this birth control about 2 months after becoming sexually active. Still being in the same relationship, I have seen major changes. This medicine works great to prevent pregnancy, but I've had uncontrollable mood swings along with bad anxiety involving my relationship. As a person that has always had long-term relationships, I have never felt THIS crazy about a partner. And not a good crazy. Even though I know he is faithful, I constantly have panic attacks whenever he leaves from worrying about our relationship. I am, and was never, the type of woman to be insecure, but this medicine is driving me insane, and I would recommend trying others."

"I have been on this pill for the past 5 years now. When I first began this pill, I had no issues, it immediately regulated my period and decreased cramping and acne. However, over the past few years, I have noticed an increase in negative side effects associated with this pill. I find myself to become randomly depressed, emotional, and angry. I have little to no sex drive, as well as terrible migraines during the week before my period. I have been prescribed 800 mg ibuprofen for these migraines, as my gynecologist suggested it could be due to low estrogen levels, and they don't even help. I am considering changing pills due to the uncomfortable side effects."

"I've only been on this pill for two weeks. I have chills where it feels like I have a fever-dizziness-severe migraines-neck pain-constant hunger-10 lb weight gain-confusion-nausea-earaches-fatigue-stomach pain-anxiety-weakness-no sex drive. I mean, the list goes on and on! This pill is awful. Stopping it today. The side effects are just not worth it!"

"I had many different side effects that I know are not normal. I just started this medication, and the side effects were horrible. Week 1, day 1 and 2, I started off abnormally tired and fatigued. Day 3, 4, 5, I was dizzy and had spells of hunger and being nauseous, randomly cried (at separate times) on top of being drowsy and overly tired. Day 6, 7, I got even more nauseous with cramping. Next week, day 1, I had to urinate/pee all the time! Day 2 randomly cried, couldn't control pee, plus had to pee all the time and hurt when I urinated. Day 3, all of those, plus vagina was itchy. Day 4 had to pee all the time, stung when I peed, vagina was itchy/burned. Day 5 I was super tired again and no burning/itching. NOT WORTH IT! Going to change meds."

"I have been on this birth control for almost 2 years now. It has worked wonders, even though I did gain 30 lbs, mainly because of the way that I eat. My acne has cleared a lot, and it works definitely for birth control. I am active a lot and not pregnant. I'm also moody at times, but I don't want to switch pills because I feel no side effects. Light periods as well and always on time."

"I read the reviews but was still eager to try it -- do not take this. This pill has made me extremely depressed and has caused me to have mood swings. I'm surprised my boyfriend is still with me because since this pill I have been depressed, unmotivated, moody, and have had no sex drive! I do not recommend this pill to anyone."

"Previfem kept me from getting pregnant, so that's great, but it gave me awful, painful, 2+ week-long withdrawal bleeds. I would start bleeding right in the middle of my active pills, almost two full weeks before my placebo pills started. The bleeding didn't really let up until the placebo pills were gone. It wasn't minor bleeding, either; it was heavy and accompanied by cramps/backaches. I would get migraines here and there, too, ranging in severity. I thought these symptoms would let up eventually, but I took it for three months with no luck. Personally, I just couldn't deal with the excessively long withdrawal bleeds. I switched over to Microgestin Fe 1/20 after three cycles and have had a much better experience so far."

"Negative side effects: - Diarrhea for the first 4-5 days of taking it - Still heavy flow periods - Tension headaches every day - Breast tenderness - I feel that I've been eating more (not sure if that's because of the birth control) - Heavy PMSing before periods Positive side effects: - Shorter period - Less acne - Fewer cramps"

"I just started taking this birth control, and I have absolutely no complaints. I'm a psycho about my skin, and so far, it hasn't affected it in any way, and it could possibly be making it better. My sex drive, if anything, has increased while on this pill, and I have gained no weight! Everyone's different, so don't take all of the reviews too seriously! The only thing that I've noticed is that the first few weeks of my first pack, I was super emotional, but that occurs with any birth control at first! My boobs also get a little tender the first 2 weeks of each pack, but it's nothing that I can't handle, on a scale of 1-10, it's probably a 1.5 on the pain scale for tenderness, so nothing to worry about at all! It obviously also has prevented pregnancy."

"I was previously on Tri-Sprintec for years when my pharmacy started carrying Tri-Previfem. I switched, thinking it would affect me the same. However, I started getting headaches often, feeling weak, my face broke out, and I had spotting. I know that these effects may come when switching brands, but when I switched from Ortho TriCyclen Lo to its generic, then back to brand, then to Tri-Sprintec, I have never had any problems. I am a pharmacy technician, and I have had several customers that have had trouble when switching to Previfem or Tri-Previfem. I will be switching back to Tri-Sprintec once the pharmacy special orders it."

"I've been on Tri-Previfem going on my fourth month. I have noticed an increase in breast size, extra water weight, tenderness in breasts, along with nausea and headaches. It doesn't seem to be cooperating with my body, but I haven't gotten pregnant, which is good. I don't get pimples as much as I used to, and I'm more emotional. This is my first time on birth control, and I am not satisfied with it. I will be going back to my doctor for a change."

"The only complaint I have about this birth control is bad tension headaches and fatigue, but I'll take that over weight gain and acne, which fortunately this birth control doesn't cause at all! It also made my cysts go away and is free or really cheap with insurance. Would recommend to anyone!"
