For Birth Control "I’ve tried taking Sprintec twice, and both times it has caused me severe anxiety to the point that I went to the ER because I wasn’t able to calm myself down. It messed with my anxiety and depression horribly, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I will never, ever take it or any hormonal birth control again."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for four months. The first month I started taking it, I all of a sudden got extremely depressed and felt on edge all the time. I experienced nausea, some breast pain, extreme headaches, and I gained 15 pounds in the first 3 months. Some of the symptoms have gone away, and I haven't had any breakout, but I still get down in the dumps. One day I'll be high, and a couple of hours later, I felt like I wanted to crawl under a rock. Before getting on this birth control, my boyfriend and I had sex every day at least once. Now I'm lucky if I feel like doing it twice a week. There's maybe a 3-4 day period where I want to, besides that, I just don't feel like it anymore. I wouldn't recommend this birth control at all."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about 3 months now. I would say I used to be somewhat of a nonchalant person, but with this, I have been a lot more emotional and moody. Some days I wake up with no motivation and just feel nothing. Or some days I listen to a song and want to cry because it's really good or sad. I just feel depressed a majority of the time and cry for no reason or because of even the littlest thing, or overthinking. My appetite with this pill has definitely changed as well, I feel like I'm always hungry or craving something to eat or drink. Libido is still the same. And my boobs are very sensitive and seem bigger, so I guess that's a plus. But hey, I haven't gotten pregnant and been getting my period consistently."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for about 3 years and felt absolutely nothing during intercourse, which made me depressed. I would tell my doctors, but they were no help whatsoever. They never told me it was the pill that was the problem, which it was!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Sprintec for 7 months. It’s not perfect, but I’ve had a fairly positive experience with it compared to other BC pills, which caused severe mood swings, depression, and constant nausea. I have gained weight on this pill, which isn’t great (my diet hasn’t changed and exercise has increased). My acne-prone skin has been doing great, however, and is clear. I always get one minor breakout the week before placebo/withdrawal bleeding. I also experience nausea and minor mood swings in the 2-3 days leading up to my withdrawal bleed. These side effects have all been very consistent and predictable for me, which I haven’t found on any other pill. So aside from the stubborn weight, I’m happy with this BC."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for one month and just started my placebo pills. Since starting this BC, I feel like a completely different person. I have constant low energy, terrible bloating, little to no sex drive, and terrible emotions. I have not previously had issues with depression, so it can only attest to this pill. The entire three weeks I've been on Sprintec, I have had brown/black discharge (something I used to only experience on the very last two days of my period). This discharge seems never-ending, and so does my unhappy mood. Save yourself the trouble and DON'T TAKE THIS PILL."

For Birth Control "Huge breakout in the beginning. Subsided, and all was good-until the anxiety and depression hit me like a truck. Could not for the life of me figure out why I was so anxious to the point of not sleeping and crying all the time. Going back to my doctor to get something else. Yikes."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Sprintec for over 3 years now for severe bleeding and pain during menstruation. Sprintec has helped lessen the bleeding and pain during menstruation, however, the buildup of this drug in my body has slowly caused so many side effects, which have severely hindered my quality of life. The following are side effects that I have experienced while on Sprintec: 1. Daily nausea 2. Worsening of chronic migraines and daily headaches 3. Severe dizziness/light-headedness 4. Visual changes (blurred vision) 5. Acne so bad that I had to be treated for infections of my hair follicles 6. Worsened depression. Again, these severe side effects took years to occur."

For Birth Control "Here we go again. I switched off generic Seasonale to Sprintec because I had constant breakthrough bleeding. I'm advised to take Sprintec for 9 weeks and then go on the placebos. 3 weeks after starting the actives, I start spotting. Last cycle, I bled the entire time after those 3 weeks and went through panty liners like toilet paper. The cramps were constant as well as the bleeding. I'm considering staying off birth control because I am sick of bleeding all the time. Also, Sprintec really screwed with my emotions. I cycle between being normal and being depressed, and it's putting heavy strain on my relationships. It makes me incredibly apathetic and zaps my energy, so I don't even feel like showering."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Took it due to heavy, long periods. Technically, it did help. My periods went from 7 to 8 days to 4 or 5, and bleeding was cut down to a third of what it was before. Also, it really helped with my acne. However, that's where the good stuff ends. I experienced HORRIBLE menstrual pains at least 7 days before my period that would last until its end. I experienced depression worse than I ever had before during my entire time on the pill (about 7 months). The first 3 months were also a nightmare with nausea, migraines, and constant bleeding. Overall, if your gyno suggests this to you to help heavy periods, ask for a lower estrogen birth control. This pill isn't worth the trauma."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec for my endometriosis in November. My cramps are less severe, my acne has improved. So as far as my condition is concerned, the medicine works. However, the negative effects totally outweigh the positive. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in almost a month, I am horribly depressed, I cry several times a day, and I am nauseated whenever I don't eat right away."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on this pill for uterine fibroids. The pill definitely helped me with the excessive bleeding from this condition. After the 2nd month, my acne cleared up, and my depression that this pill caused started to get better. It also helped that I talked to my doctor regularly to make sure that I gave this pill time to work for me. I also had adult acne before I started this, and after 3 months, my skin cleared up. I went off the pill for about 4 months because I had lost my job, and the $20 it cost without having insurance pay wasn't worth it. As soon as I started working again, I went to see my ob-gyn for another rx. I'm not sure how it'll help my fibroids in the long run since it has estrogen in it, but I plan on getting another ultrasound in 2020 to make sure they haven't grown. If so, I will be switching, but in the meantime, I am back on it, and I hope my depression isn't as bad this time around."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec the second week of August, followed by my period. Ever since I started the pill, I've experienced feeling nauseous, vomiting, morning sickness, my sex drive was low, and depression. I wouldn't want to be around anyone and was just always sad. I also experienced weight gain, which wasn't a problem. But I haven't stopped bleeding since I started the first pack. And I don't think I can handle being depressed for another two months."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This pill is pure garbage! Years ago, I was taking Ortho-Tricyclin and had no bad side effects. I decided to give the generic a try in spite of the negative reviews just because someone convinced me that everyone reacts differently, and since I used the original in the past, I shouldn’t have any problems with the generic. So wrong! I had non-stop bleeding/spotting, nausea every day, feeling super depressed, crying for no reason, and to top it off, it was also hurting my stomach. I decided to finish the pack anyway with hopes that these symptoms would go away. Well, they didn’t. I am now experiencing heavy abnormal bleeding with blood clots. I am switching to Ogestrel starting on Sunday. Ladies, please don't take this rubbish pill!"

For Birth Control "I was put on this Sprintec after I started spotting on my old pill. Everything was fine for the first few months, but then I started to notice I had terrible mood swings and I was depressed. I was starting to break out also, which is extremely rare for me. Lots of random spotting and bleeding during sex. Definitely not worth it, and I wish I never did this to myself with this pill."

For Birth Control "Insurance dropped me from Trinessa and then put me on Tri Sprintec. My life has been a living hell on this godforsaken devil pill. I feel like I'm pregnant. I'm so depressed and anxious on this pill. I feel like crying daily. I feel so sick every day. I get lightheaded and dizzy to a point where I want to throw up or feel like passing out. Maybe it's because of my weight, but this pill isn't one to take if you don't want to feel sick the whole time you're on it. I wish I had money for Trinessa again."

For Endometriosis "I've only been on Sprintec for a couple of months, but I noticed my depression has gotten worse. I'm tired all the time, dizzy, and just want to cry. I got a yeast infection, and my acne isn't clearing up. As far as my endometriosis, I can't tell if it has gotten any better."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I love this pill! I've tried four before this one, and they all have given me terrible side effects, such as severe nausea, depression, weight gain. With Sprintec, I've actually lost some weight because my hormonal eating is tamed now. Lol, the only thing is, in the beginning, I felt a little tired, so I started taking vitamins, and I feel fine now. I take B12."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on the Sprintec pill for 3 years now. I was suffering from horrible cystic acne and tiny whitehead-like bumps all around my chin. My doctor prescribed me Sprintec for my acne spots. I remember in the beginning I was a mess. I broke out even more and had the craziest mood swings mixed with depression. I stuck through it, though, and eventually my acne and mood swings subsided... however, one week before my period I have an occasional breakout and mood swings. But once my period starts, I feel “normal” again. My periods have become a lot shorter also. It took a while, but Sprintec works for me."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended I take Sprintec to regulate my estrogen levels and to regulate my period. I began taking it around 5 years ago. During my time with the pill, I had a regular period, which is what was the aim of my doctors, but I was never informed of any side effects. During the time I took this pill, I began to have increasingly severe symptoms, which I did not realize were from the pill. I gained weight easily, lost a lot of body hair, and the most notable side effect was the intense mood swings. I have a history of depression, and if you do as well, I highly suggest avoiding this medication. It made my depression so severe I was having breakdowns every night, and my downs were so intense I considered committing myself. I stopped taking it 2 months ago, and this month I have noticed a dramatic increase in my emotional stability. No other life events have changed. I was never informed this could be a side effect of the birth control, and I really wish I would have stopped sooner."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Sprintec for the last 3 months, and it made my mental health go down so bad. I’m such a toxic person now. I hate it so much. It makes me hungry all the time, and if I don’t eat, my stomach hurts really bad. It makes me sleep a lot. I have negative thoughts very often. It just makes me very depressed, and I don’t know why. And I'm always tired and sleeping, and I have no motivation at all. All I want to do now is stay in bed, and I have no motivation to have a social life. Me as a person changed so much, I have so many mood swings now."

For Birth Control "The worst symptoms were: I began to feel delusional and crazy to the point where I thought about going to the hospital because of the severe mood swings and loss of reality. I was depressed constantly after I started taking this pill. I was crying uncontrollably nonstop. My family was extremely concerned because I am normally a very happy, positive, and ambitious person. Again, I do NOT recommend this birth control. STAY AWAY."

For Birth Control "I'm finishing up my third month of Sprintec. I'm 19 and had never taken birth control previously. The first few months, I experienced the normal side effects - nausea in the morning, dizziness, feeling a bit out of it mentally. Sprintec has given me lighter periods, but that is the only plus. Last month, when I was halfway through my sugar pill week, I began to feel extremely numb emotionally and unable to feel happy about anything, not even my long-term relationship. I couldn't shake the depression until I started my next pill pack. This month, the depression is starting on my third row of active pills. If it continues, I am going to the doctor to change meds. Never sacrifice your mental and emotional health for shorter periods and clearer skin."

For Birth Control "Sprintec birth control pill may be like other birth control pills, I haven't tried any other ones yet, but this one is making me absolutely insane! I have the worst mood swings, anxiety, and depression! It cleared up my acne, but my sex drive went down to almost nothing. Extreme vaginal dryness and weight gain. My boobs did grow a whole cup size, but they have hurt every single day for the last three packs. I am going to try Portia next after this pack is done. I can't take it anymore!"
